I’ve been coming to this gym for almost ten years, but most consistently for a little over a year. Best staff and members around, easily my favorite gym. Couldn’t imagine working out anywhere else. My home away from home.

Recently, my membership with this organization was terminated, but not by my choice. I was accused by the owner of messaging and talking to an 18 year old inappropriately, which I never did. I offered access to my phone, even said they could get the police involved if they thought I removed anything and they refused to look at anything. Instead, they gave me a warning saying if I had another complaint I was out. Not only is that accusation incredibly wrong, slanderous, and damaging, but it’s incredibly insulting to even suggest that - I proved I didn’t do anything wrong and yet the owner wouldn’t even hear me out, but was more than happy to make an accusation. Lo and behold, I got accused of making someone uncomfortable again with “something I said”, and membership was terminated. When I asked what it was I said or did, the gym “could not tell me” and kept saying “you know what you did.” Which I don’t, the only people I spoke to in that gym were other men and 99% of the time I’m in there I’m the one that gets approached, I often can’t go more than 2 minutes without someone coming up to me mid workout. I went here for years mostly out of convenience.

The equipment is lacking, they often get cheap equipment that breaks often or is a cheaper variant of some worthwhile machines, they can’t seem to clean or replace water filters ever often going MONTHS before safe, clean water is filtered (11/7/2025 they’re both green, but for months was on red status for filter), the cables and machines that break remain broken for months. Not only that, but the drama from the owner is crazy, seems like she thinks she’s judge, jury and executioner. Save your time, money (so overpriced for what they offer), stress and health and choose a different gym that’s not just looking for your money.

It’s clear the owners prioritize squeezing the maximum money out of members over treating people with basic fairness or understanding. We were members at The Workout Club and genuinely enjoyed the gym itself. However, the way this gym handles cancellations (or any unforeseen circumstances) — especially for members relocating out of state — is unacceptable.

We notified the gym that we are moving out of New Hampshire due relocation just TWO days after my current billing cycle. Despite explaining clearly that we will not physically be in the state after November, the gym is forcing us to pay for an additional full month that we cannot use. On top of that, they are charging a cancellation fee for all family members.

To be clear: we were not asking to avoid payment for the time we are still here. We were simply asking not to be charged for time when we literally will not live in the state. Management acknowledged the situation, acknowledged our move, and still refused to make a single exception — not even a relocation consideration that many other gyms routinely offer. This is super frustrating considering my wife is MILITARY.

This policy is rigid, unreasonable, and feels intentionally designed to squeeze extra money out of members on their way out. It leaves a very bad impression of how the owners value (or do not value) its members.

If you ever need to move, relocate for work, military orders, family, or any unexpected life change — be aware that The Workout Club will charge you for time you cannot use and show zero flexibility or understanding.

We loved the gym. But the way we were treated at the end made it very clear where the priorities are here — and it is NOT with the people who support this business.

**Update:** I received a call from Laurie at the Workout Club of Londonderry, who was very understanding of my situation and genuinely concerned about my experience the previous day with the fitness manager and the email communication I received instead of a phone call. Laurie was extremely helpful and assisted me in canceling my membership smoothly. Our conversation was pleasant and professional, and thanks to her excellent service, I would gladly consider returning to the club in the future!

My experience with The Londonderry Club has been very disappointing. During my first 15 minutes with a personal trainer, I suffered a torn ACL and meniscus, which required surgery. Despite staff being aware of my injury and assuring me that someone would follow up, I never received a call or message to check on my condition.

A few months later, I contacted the club to cancel my membership, as I can no longer use the gym and no longer feel comfortable returning. I was told that a manager would reach out, but instead I received a generic email hours later. When I called back, I spoke with the fitness manager, who was dismissive and explained that he could not assist with memberships. I was told I have to wait for another manager tomorrow to call me back

Overall, the lack of professionalism, communication, and concern for member well-being has been extremely disappointing.

I recently ended my membership at The Workout Club in Londonderry, NH, and I don’t plan on renewing. The gym itself is nice enough — clean, decent equipment, and plenty of space — but the overall vibe has changed, and not in a good way.

Their social media presence is a big part of why I decided to leave. Every post seems to feature the same handful of “influencers” and extremely fit people showing off a very specific body type. It feels like the gym is more focused on promoting a certain look rather than building a genuinely welcoming fitness community. For someone who just wants to stay active and healthy, the constant push of these “perfect” physiques makes the place feel more exclusive and intimidating than motivating.

The irony is that the “friendly and personable” personalities they highlight online are some of the least kind or welcoming people I’ve encountered at a gym. When you walk in and the same people from the videos can’t even bother to say hello at the front desk, it’s hard not to see how superficial it all is. They clearly spend a lot of time and money on their “positive, social-media-friendly” image, but that doesn’t translate to the in-person experience.

Maybe this kind of environment appeals to the younger crowd or those who are really into the influencer lifestyle — and that’s fine. But it’s just not for me. I was looking for a more genuine, down-to-earth place to work out, not a backdrop for fitness content creation. The focus on appearances over community is ultimately what drove me away.

I am updating my review due to the fact that Spencer and Jill have gone out of their way to make me and my daughter feel absolutely comfortable at the gym since the new hires did not. Thankful for my WOC fam and the reassurance they have provided me.

I’ve always enjoyed bringing my daughter here because of the amazing and trustworthy person running the kids' corner Valerie- Since her position was terminated, I’ve been struggling to understand the reasoning behind that decision. I pay an extra $20 a month for my daughter to be able to attend, so I’m honestly shocked that, as a result of the termination, the kids' center has been shut down for a few days. If I could give -100 stars I would, I also put in a complain with the better business bureau which they are not even registered with.

My husband and I needed to move abruptly due to extenuating circumstances, and even through we have been loyal customers and were planning to return in a year to the gym (which obviously we will not be doing at this point) they refused to waive any cancellation fee and charged us $200. I will never use this facility again and will share my negative opinion with everyone and anyone. I even reached out personally to the owner and did not hear back. POOR BUSINESS

Happy to report that the previously referenced poor management team is no longer with the workout club. Back to the Original Crew 🙌🏼 who understand the vibe/customer service needed to successfully run a business!

Unfortunately as of late, I’ve been very disappointed in the Workout Club’s management approach, unsafe conditions for children, lack of communication, and treatment of employees.
Without any communication the kids corner was cut in half and the daycare remained open with exposed dry wall, dirty floors with screws, exposed outlets and cable ports. Additionally the room size is significantly smaller now, to the point where kids are tripping over each other. When management was approached, the owners were blamed and I was told that they are not legally required to shut down the daycare during construction or to set a limit on how many kids can be watched at one time. 🤔 In addition to this, the amazing woman who consistently worked in the daycare was not communicated with about any of the construction, and was blind sided by being told that her daughter (4 - who everyone loved as well) could no longer go to work with her and given no time to find a resource for her daughter (sitter, daycare, etc.), and forced to leave. Not all parents have a bounty of resources and this does affect routines and lives… especially when I’m paying an extra $20per kid.
I highly doubt I’ll be renewing my membership, I care more about the people and quality over numbers.

I’m a firm believer that if you take care of your employees, they will take care of you and it’s pretty clear that isn’t a priority here.

Also - there are some fabulous people who work here, and I wish them the best.

I spoke to the general manager, and it turns out the smell was residual from a plumbing repair that finished in the afternoon on the day I arrived (before I got there, but smells linger). Mandy was very understanding of my personal situation too and helped me freeze my account for less so I have more time to sort out the documentation and information around my health needs. The pool also has to be kept a little colder than expected because of swim teams that are in there for longer periods of time. Thanks for clearing things up, Mandy!

It smelled sweaty in the main area when I went here on a Friday (more than you expect from a gym), and the atmosphere felt less accepting towards folks trying to get healthy instead of build muscle. The pool area is better (although the main pool is not warm).

You'd be better off at the Y, honestly, where designated lockers are built into the price (even if the dress code is trapped in the '60s).

If you develop any disabilities or conditions, you're going to need a doctor's note to prove that you can't use any gym services for the next 6 months to cancel without fees. So you have to pay money and possibly wait months anyway to get the cancellation, depending on your doctor and your insurance, and it's all very tedious and stressful. Every business exists to make a profit, yes. They're usually just not so obvious about it.

I only signed up for this gym because it’s close to home, but after 2 years of tolerating the conditions here, I’m highly considering moving on. Today, I looked up while on the cardio deck and was horrified to see the ceiling fans absolutely caked in layers of dust and black grime. These fans are directly above the cardio machines — so you’re literally breathing in whatever’s falling off them while you’re working out. It’s sickening.

To make matters worse, I noticed what looks like black mold growing around the HVAC ducts. The cardio machines themselves are always greasy and filthy, and the weight machines are outdated and rarely maintained. The gym constantly smells like sewage or urine the moment you walk in — and it never seems to be addressed.

The environment is chaotic and inconsiderate. During peak hours, it’s overrun by “fitness influencers” with tripods, filming themselves and monopolizing equipment with no regard for others.

I don’t get sick often, but every time I do, it seems to follow a visit to this gym — and after today, I can’t say I’m surprised. The place is a serious health concern, and management clearly doesn’t care.

Convenience is no longer worth the risk. Avoid this gym at all costs.

This isn't just a gym, it has everything! The heated pools are a god-send after working out, the sauna is clean and in the womens locker room so you jump right out and shower. The classes are easy to get into and aren't over crowded, plus weekend classes are very convenient. The daycare is so cute and the staff are so nice! 10/10 would recommend

Since signing up for this gym everything has been amazing. Kidz corner is great as a mom who needs to get a workout in. Bathroom, shower and locker room are clean and large. UPDATE: After posting this review I got a call from management in which we talked for over 30 min about my concerns with the safety. I stated how concerned I was that the area was now so small and they weren’t going to limit the amount of kids in the daycare. After the conversation (and no apology from management for the sheer fact that my 1.5 year old son was picking up nails!) she told me that she manages thousands of accounts and she could stand to lose a few. With that, we decided to leave the club after being members for over 10 years. 1 week later the daycare had an incident where a child was hurt due to shoving kids in a tiny room like sardines and kids climbing on shelves that shouldn’t have been there to start! So sad something like this had to happen but can’t say I’m shocked. They don’t care about the kids safety….they are just a number to them. Sad

We drive 40 minutes to go to this gym because we LOVED who worked at the kids corner. Recently the gym ownership cut the kids corner size in half. The daycare is a construction zone…where we walked in and my 1.5 year old picked a nail up and left covered in dust. Approached management for concern not only of safety but whether due to cutting the space in half they would be limiting numbers. I felt like management agreed but apparently ownership didn’t deem the kids SAFETY as a concern…the place wasn’t cleaned up the next day and they decided they would accept unlimited amount of kids. As a member of this gym for years I’m extremely disappointed my child’s safety and other kids is the least of their concerns.

Since this original review 5 days ago, they have canceled my membership as retaliation. The gym has truly gone down hill. The blind leading the blind... If you want to join the circus and the clowns that run this place this is the gym for you!

I have been a member for more than 20 years and for the last 7 years brought our kids to the kid corner. As of late they have reduced the size and made it into a construction zone making it unsafe and for sure against NH daycare laws! The only thing they had going for them was the nice young lady that watched the kids in there. Notice in their follow-up, they said nothing about the activities we spoke of, just attacking me for posting, terrible leadership. The reason they cant say it didnt happen as I posted, after the 3rd private plea to the local mgt to do something about the horrid conditions, we privately called the Londenderry Health Inspector. The Inspector called them, and within hours, we got a call from the Workout Club, and THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH, they called, they said in a 60 second call, "because you posted a review and called the health inspector in Londonderry, you are being terminated and we will send you a refund for the remaining 6 pre-paid months" There was no argument, I said "ok", received my refund, and the kicker, they also terminated my wife's membership without ever speaking with her and her never saying a word..

My wife and I regularly use the lap pool, along with many others, and unfortunately, it’s not uncommon to find band-aids at the bottom. To make matters worse, some individuals, BIG individuals, that use the dry sauna, get sweaty, and then jump directly into the pool to rinse—without showering first. This is not just unpleasant for everyone but also a clear health code violation.

We have repeatedly (three times, in confidence, fully respectfully) asked management to address this issue, but nothing has changed. The showers are slimy, and overall, the facility is in poor sanitary condition.

UPDATE: Instead of addressing the problem, the manager of the Workout Club has decided to terminate our memberships! We received a call stating, “We saw your review, and it’s easier to terminate you than deal with the problem, so a check is on the way.” Unbelievable. Rather than enforcing basic hygiene rules, they chose to silence a paying customer.

Maria is my personal trainer and I absolutely love her! She not only has extensive knowledge about the art of being a personal trainer she also has the skills to modify, stance, posture, form and overall production of any given exercise. If it doesn’t feel right she fixes and teaches you to do it right. This allows for feeling empowered, motivated and confident. I have not received this level of attentiveness from any other trainer I have worked with. Maria trains because she cares about your goals and works hard to make sure you never lose. And let’s face it some days it feels like all you do is lose but with Maria cheering you on all you want to do is succeed!

They stopped partnering with CLM life management center and left a lot of people without access for seemingly no reason other than money. EXTREMELY greedy. My sister goes to CLM and has a nerve disorder that the heated therapy pool and water weights are doing wonders for, and she can’t afford the expensive membership. CLM had to break the news to her this morning and she doesn’t know what she’s going to do.

That’s a pretty nasty thing to pull out from under mentally ill or struggling people who may need this resource. Do NOT give them your money.

I wanted to find out about membership at the Londonderry Workout Club. The person I spoke to was talking too fast and then hung up on me. That’s no way to treat a person. Obviously not interested in joining a club that employs rude people that hang up on perspective members.
Funny reply since when I called back you said we must have got disconnected. Now you say you hung up. So you are a liar too. Extremely rude and not a nice person.

The new remodeled gym is bright and welcoming. Have been coming for years and love how accommodating everyone is. They are super friendly and I am very pleased with everything. Definitely worth the membership.

Amending my review from 5 stars to two. After touting all over their website about $500,000 in improvements and upgrades to the pools in 2024, the main pool, therapy pool and hot tub at the Londonderry location are constantly cold, and the excuse that the boilers are broken is getting old. The steam rooms, saunas, and even the showers are not working on some days. This has been going on for 2 months now. Very disappointed.

Best club in town! The place has top shelf equipment, a hard working cleaning crew, a new women’s workout room and an upgraded pool, hot tub and steam room. Just my opinion, but it’s the staff that sets this gym apart from the rest. They send out a great chill vibe that creates a chill gym - especially a dude named Spencer. He’s has a warm and earnest charisma, is quick to smile and laugh and talk about anything that’s on your mind that day.

Signed up with the understanding cancellation was simple if something was to change. I attended the gym once, and needed to cancel the membership within a week, partially due to the fact they did not have some crucial equipment necessary for my programming. Instead of a month to month membership, I was sold a 12 month contract without my knowledge. A week later when I tried to cancel, it was made impossible to do so and they demanded $250 for the cancellation fee, regardless of the fact I attended the gym once and had a week turn around. Not transparent, condescending customer service, not flexible. Facility was average at best.

Update in regard to recent reply:

Firstly, the one year membership minimum was never mentioned to me at all, nothing of the sort was said. However, I was told it would be simple to cancel if need be, which is contradictory.

As for the “cancellation” options which were sent to me: I could pay $250 to cancel it, pay off the year ($500), pause it or transfer the membership to someone else (but at this point why would I do that). All of these options don’t sound very simple or fair to me, seen as though I used the gym ONCE, on the day of sign up.

Addressing the “equipment” issue, I was told only yesterday it had been ordered. It is past an issue of a disorganized gym and lacking equipment, it is an issue of poor customer service and poor business ethics. Had my cancellation been easy, as first stated, I probably would have tried to transfer my membership.

The aquatics program at The Workout Club, led by Swim Director Marilyn Soraghan, is outstanding. Marilyn is truly amazing and goes above and beyond in her dedication to the swimmers. My son was part of the Rays swim club, and under her guidance, he mastered an excellent freestyle stroke and even took 1st place in a summer competition! Now, my daughter is also in the program, and I couldn’t be happier with the strong foundation they provide. The program is incredibly well-managed, and the swim instruction is top-notch. Highly recommend!
