Primarily come here for the pool. It's clean and well run. The locker rooms are older but clean.

This place is a joke. I have called 10x times trying to get swimming lessons cancelled for my children and I haven't gotten a call back from anyone. Swimming lessons themselves are a joke. I can't understand the instructor let alone my children who need to understand to learn how to swim! They teach kids to jump in the water before showing them how to move their feet or anything useful!!!! Scam scam scam

Knock it down and make it bigger. I've been a member at the Y in Grand Rapids and Spartannash in the state of Michigan they offer so much more for the same price. Find a location where you can expand and offer what Michigan offers because you charge the same price. Even the YMCA in Quincy, MA offers more.

I’m so grateful to have access to such a wonderful, affordable gym and the community that it supports! You guys are the best. The Y is not fancy, if that’s what you’re looking for, but it’s clean and the staff are very responsive to feedback. It’s a great deal for what you get- my kids use the pool and indoor playground all the time, especially in the winter. I LOVE the group classes- I only wish there were more! Keep up the good work! I’m perplexed by some of these reviews- my experience has been very positive and I love the Y

Daughter joined 2 weeks ago with her daughter. Been trying to use the pool was only able to.use it once, pools close 3 times. Wth..so you pay every month for this place. Which in my opinion needs more things. But the pool was a decision for which we joined. Only for it to be closed more times then open. Maybe I will look around for something better. They make it sound great. Sure we believe you

The best gym in Concord, especially if you're in the young adult age group for the discounted pricing. Fair size cardio room and weight room, with classes available. I wish the AC worked a bit better in the summer, but that's about it.

I just want to point out a few things that may not sound like much but to me and other members it’s important .. first of all there are no hooks for jackets, bags etc in the gym room , even if there’s lockers they’re in another room , we need hooks in the gym room for coats I have to put my coat on the floor ( not good) also no hooks on doors in restrooms , can’t hang jackets, purses etc , please fix these things .. thank you

Decided to try out this gym due to the amenities listed on its website. I was met by a rude staff member who advised me that not only did they not offer a day pass or free trial, but when asked about their amenities they advised they did not have a vast majority of them (including sauna)

Order a bunch or perishables to be delivered refuse to add a tip but yall make money off of it, that's how we make a living by generous folks who get it and appreciate our hard work . Not community oriented when you are blind to the little guy trying to support their family. Go get it yourselves next time.

Update 2 months later yall still order tons of stuff when you order never tip don't help at drop off. If you cared about your community you would make sure you TIP the hard working folks making your life easier, Thanks Kate!

While I was visiting my grandchildren I wanted to use the pool. Would not allow me, as a visiting member, to bring him (2 yrs) into the facility.

I find this YMCA's staff to be wonderful, understanding and accommodating. My daughter and I drive almost an hour for her swim lessons and couldn't be more pleased with her results. She cant wait for her next swim lesson! Thankyou all!

front desk guy was condescending, weird, and had a terrible attitude - super unhelpful, but he's probably just getting too old tbh

Very old building, and it is very difficult to find your way through the many doors and hallways with no windows. The weight room is split into several rooms, and on different floors which was confusing. However I met some very nice people there

Our dues are not reduced in the summer, just our access to the facilities. I’m tired of getting off work and wanting to take advantage of what I pay for only to end up being turned away. Great gym, terrible policies. What is the rationale? Healthy isn’t seasonal. It’s a million degrees outside I’m not paying you so I can run myself into a heat stroke outside. Just absolutely ridiculous.

I just drove 30 minutes to try it out. Downloaded my day pass and they wouldn’t let me use it. Said I had to print one and bring it with me. No where on the day pass does it say that. She just didn’t care.

Went in for a tour and was denied. Unfriendly service. Bad location. Parking is not free. Would rate zero stars but it’s not an option. Avoid this location at all costs!!! Go to Goffstown!

their assisted weight room and treadmill room are carpeted it’s disgusting. It smells like a preschool mixed with a sweaty dirty diaper. I literally can’t go near those rooms with the stench, they have the same carpets since I was a freshman in high school in 2009. But I moved it UP there to three stars because they redid the steam room and the gymnasium is now really cool free weight room is amazing. Carpeted work out areas ? The stench is nauseating. Reminds me of

I've been a member for years and I can't believe a lot of these low ratings. This is a nice place with good people. The facilities are clean, in good order, and bright. There's an extensive and diverse offering of classes, and plenty of space in the many locker rooms. The equipment is modern, and members are entitled to several free sessions with a personal trainer. The pool is clean and is well-organized to accommodate the needs of various patrons (family swim, lap swim, etc). Teachers are outgoing and lead challenging and multilevel classes. I look forward to going to the Y and recommend it highly.

I enjoy working out at the Y, but there are some issues.
Pros
-friendly, not intimidating atmosphere
-huge variety of equipment, including pool
-building is clean
-lobby spaces are convenient
Cons
-building and equipment is quite run down, lots of stained walls and floors and damaged weights and yoga mats
-80% of the group classes don't work with a 9-5 job
-many of the group instructors kinda stink, a few are great but most lack energy and give very little instruction, I've even had one put on slow orchestral music during cardio
-limited weekend hours
I like it enough, but I'm mostly sticking with it because it is one of the only gyms with a pool and my husband likes to swim. Otherwise I'd probably switch.

The staff is not friendly, understanding or helpful. Front desk staff act annoyed if you ask for help. Staff cleaners are sketchy. Go elsewhere

Also Concord YMCA is not for young children who cannot tolerate a mask. Their mask policy requires all members 2 years old+ to wear a mask. Our family with 2 toddlers was not able to utilize the facility due to mask policy. We cancelled our membership after 2 days.

Was working out with some of my friends and one of them took off his mask to get a drink of water, some man that worked there came in yelling at us saying if we did it again our membership would be suspended. We continued our workout like we had been doing for the past month with our masks on correctly. We left and next time we went we weren’t allowed in because our memberships were suspended. We were not informed of the suspension, no email, text, or anything. Drove all the way there and wasted some pre workout to be told we couldn’t go in. This was extremely inconvenient because the only way that we were allowed to go back was to speak to the administrator who suspended our membership(without warning)- who wasn’t working until 8-12pm which doesn’t work because of school.

Paid full price with a start up fee and most everything was cancelled or closed due to Covid. We were given no tour and any questions we asked we were told to visit the website. Hours are pretty lousy, most people work 9 to 5. I expected better service for the price that was paid..

$59 a month if you want an Adult Membership plus $75 sign up fee!! Vs The Y in MA where I paid $32 a month and no sign up fee. They should definitely have an option to customize what type of options come with the membership. All I want to use is a gym and basketball court, nothing else.

I’ve been a previous member to a YMCA, just walked into the concord ymca after we took preworkout, customer service was legit entirely unuseful and disrespectful. we were ignored after Asking if there was any possible chance to let us workout, I offered money, no day pass, which I get but because he was a primary member to Portsmouth and it was too far and too dangerous to travel to Portsmouth in the snow storm.

To start we politely asked for a guest pass because they are allowed but being a Portsmouth member it was a “reciprocal” membership, we couldn’t work out, no DAY PASS. So I asked if “is there absolutely anyway we can work out here?” I’m answered with “nah dude” then the ladies presumed to ignore us, being in the military I learned respect and each of those women at that desk ruined my day with no respect. I’ve wasted 2 hours driving in this storm for no courtesy

Took swim lessons here as a kid. Joined as an adult mostly for the full indoor basketball court, Olympic length swimming pool and steam room sauna. Last I checked they have larger free weights than the concord pf, although I haven’t been thru there since they finished the renovation.

I was just at the ymca talking with friends. For some reason the employees felt like going above and beyond and following us with the cameras through the building, and came up and found us when they saw food. We had permission to be there, and I didn’t say a word to anyone and was respectful picked up everyone’s trash and threw it away and did everything they asked and still got a report written on me. Rediculous 🤦‍♂️

They have a great childcare program. I'm not sure if they have child care for while your using the YMCA workout/gym area. Unfortunately I do not have a membership currently but would like to eventually get one, I've heard great things about there gym facility. I bring my child for daily childcare/preschool program. She's been there for a yr & its wonderful. They are busy doing things all the time. Each class has weekly swim lessons that's included if your age 3 & up which was a HUGE selling point for me. One less activity you have to run around doing at end of the day. Swim lessons are very important & every child should have lessons in swimming. Of course I'd love to watch my child taking swim lessons but if they do other activities like Karate, dance, sports it's hard to fit another thing in busy schedules. This is one crucial lesson your child gets that won't add to your family's busy schedule. They have so many other activities they do as well that benefits children. A gym day weekly where they get to utilize the gym area. We love this childcare facility & everyone there is so AMAZING! HIGHLY RECOMMEND YMCA CONCORD!

The front desk guy was an old mean fart who is worthless. At other YMCAs we can get a guest pass for $10 but he denied to give us one and when we asked to sign up for a membership he also said "we don't do that here." Not to mention he was being quite rude and condescending to the lady in front of us. Dont bother with this place, find another gym.

There are some management changes regarding how front desk handles basic tasks that make everyone’s life difficult. I went and tried to sign myself up for a class and was met with a lot of confusing steps “subject to approval of instructor.” Overall nice facility and some really nice staff.

This Y is decent. Workers are friendly but the place could be cleaner. I see towels left behind that stay there for a week and the hand sanitizer is ALWAYS empty!
