I've been a member for the last three months - 4-5 workouts per week. I really like the weight room - well organized and has what I need. The pool is fine - I really wish there was a second pace clock at the far end of the pool. The locker rooms are good - a bit tired but clean. What makes this place is the staff. Friendly and helpful. The team in the weight room is especially good. They will correct my form when correction is needed (which is often!). Highly recommended.

If you are ever looking for child care please DO NOT GO HERE they are the worst people ever they have no degrees , are really unprofessional they called me more than 3 times telling me that my kid will have to get evaluated for being a child because the supervisor of child care herself said that she thought he can have some ADHD or he was having hearing problems just because he did not wanted to take his nap time, He went for evaluation thru the state and everything came out perfect the result end up in being the environment and his care providers and is sad they way they can just have no empathy to us parents talking about our babies that way unstead of checking up on them to see if they are going thru changes or something happen to them , they are suppose to be there to help and be a leader. Sad but true 100 NOT RECOMMENDED

Love the gym, love the pool, I love doing laps, the only I hate, the jacuzzi are is closed because of covid, well covid is over, and that big area of relestate is empty.....

I hate going to the pool and you can't use it because of the kids program..

Well that empty space should be built for a kids pool then the big pool don't have to be shut down

I signed my kids up for 2 days of a summer camp in August. Somehow, there was a glitch and the week ended up being in July. A week that they already had other plans for and u able to attend ymca. I did not realize this mistake till it was almost time to start that week of camp in July. I made several calls and left several messages. Half of the time, no one bothered to call me back. When I did speak to someone, I was blamed for entering the wrong week. And they would not switch the weeks for me. Because there are wait lists even though the week I want there are 2 available spots. This place a joke.

They close every time there is a couple of inches of snow forecasted. They did not have presidents day listed on there websites of holidays they would be closed, they were closed. Solid facilities. Staff is friendly and helpful. Annoyed they seem to close when ever possible.

The YMCA is trying their best to keep things clean and to enjoy members to clean up after themselves. The requesting a workout period is not difficult to do. In-between workout periods they fog the workout rooms. So, the germs and viruses are getting killed.

Remove your children from here right away. We had major issues with the staff not telling the truth, in accurate records, and the door never being closed! After all the headaches and then the Y taking that fact that I made them do their job out on me and my family personally, I removed my kids. Now they go to Weston and the teachers are concerned because my daughter is half a year behind. That’s what happened when you combine preschool and Kindergarten classes and lie about separating them! Die your children a favor and protect them, do not bring them to this program!

I have had multiple issues with this center, specifically when it comes to the school's out program and my daughter's child care. Issues with registrations, being told we owed money when we did not, and the woman who is in your accounting department is outright rude and couldn't be bothered with questions regarding our account t. On one occasion a Manager named Troy came to resolve the issue, and even followed up a few days later as he said he would. WHICH I APPRECIATED! But seriously, the last straw is you guys charging full price for this weeks tuition. The kids will be there 2 DAYS! It's Thanksgiving week. No prorated price if the programs aren't running? I grew up attending every summer program the YMCA had to offer, Including Manchester. Not ONCE did my mom have issues like I have had. If there were any other DECENT options, we would be making alternative arrangements. But as we all know, for kids in kindergarten there are not any.

Probably the worst customer service I've received in Manchester. My son attended summer camp part-time in 2018. The registration office called me one week to say tuition was going to increase to the full time rate. I asked why- they said, because your son attended full time this week. I said, there's a simple mistake here, on my part. I simply signed the wrong column one morning on the sign-in sheet but as you see- he was never signed out & I assure you my son was with relatives two days this week. They said my signature in any column warrants full-time tuition rate. The woman had horrendous people skills; cold, curt, rude, inaccurate, accusatory and mean. So I email the CEO who says if I want, she can arrange a meeting with the Director of the building (really? over a misplaced signature!?) The Director arrives to the meeting (late) and said she'd need to capture and share screen shots from my iphone to confirm that text messages had been exchanged between me and the relatives on the day in question. And only then could she go back to the childcare registration office and see IF they'd be willing to not charge me the full-time rate....beware!
I tried them again this summer and the camp portion is great! But, I ran into a membership rate error and the supervisor there wasn't sympathetic or helpful. I was told, 'I hope you have a better rest of your day/ we don't issue refunds.'

This location is well staffed, with lots of history and a quality exercise space. Multiple gyms that are cared for, an impressive pool with a robust and knowledgeable swim instruction program. Parking is a bit of a pain, though they are known to validate parking in the garage across the street.

Pros: Place is clean, well kept and conveniently located.
Cons: The cardio equipment and weights are in the same large room. Weightlifters often drop/slam the weights which is pretty startling and annoying when all you are trying to do is use an elliptical, stationary bike or treadmill. Nobody from the staff seems to care about it even though it's bad form and shakes the whole building. It happens every day so not just isolated incident. The Goffstown Y has a better layout where the equipment is in a separate room and also the weights are on the ground floor so unlikely to cause the building to shake even if dropped.

My baby has been in the toddler room since Feb 2018. At fist she would cry but now she stays without crying and has learned soooooo much! She sings songs, when u tell her to do something or speak to her my one year old understands completely! My only complain is that they do not provide warm lunches. Parents have to send lunch with the child and my baby loves her food warm at least. i think thats the only thing i would change.

It's a nice facility which offers plenty of space, equipment, classes etc. for all your wellness requirements. No parking onsite but they will validate for the Canal Street Garage, just run the two blocks to the facility from there and you've crushed your 'warm up.'

I spent all day here for a yoga teacher training. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The facility is clean and we'll maintained. Also they had alot of props to use. The room was a bit cool for the winter and there is no on site parking.

Bad management

I have been trying to get hold of Director in Daycare, did 20 calls, left VM sent email and stop by 5 times. No response at all on availability and any information. I never see such bad management

My daughter went here for a little over a year, we liked it at first. When i picked him up while she was in diapers her diaper would be overloaded like she hadn't been changed in a couple of hours. When she moved classes i noticed a change in her behavior and when picking her up one day she was screaming on the floor (no teacher paying her any attention) she saw me and ran right to me, she calmed down immediately. I took her out right after just based off of that, i felt my child was not being cared for properly.

The quality of the Manchester Y is so much lower than the Londonderry and Goffstown Y - both for kids' classes and for summer camp.

The baby swim lessons we did here, with Laura, were good. But nothing since then has been. I signed my daughter up for beginning soccer, which she had previously taken in Goffstown. At the beginning of class, they had all the kids, ages 5-8, line up and then said GO! as they kicked the ball out in the center of the indoor court. Mayhem ensued as kids were just running all over each other, with no direction at all from the "coaches." She was 5 and overwhelmed, as this was nothing like the Goffstown lessons, so we got them to switch her to a swim class. We then had to cancel THAT because the teacher (a guy, not Laura the director) was really bad. We transferred to Goffstown which was awesome. It's funny because apparently Manchester and Goffstown are under the same ownership. Side note: The best swim lessons we've had are at Envy Sports Club... highly recommend!

This year for the first (and last) time, I enrolled her in 1 week of their summer camp, because the week's theme was supposedly science, which she loves. Usually she goes to camp at Londonderry, which is fantastic. I wrongly thought that this camp would be quite similar since it's part of the same "network" of Y's, so were extremely disappointed. It is indoors all day long and is basically the same as a daycare. There was no actual science going on. They made a little popsicle stick raft that fell apart (I had to use wood glue on it after she came home), they made slime, then did a volcano that didn't work (and with which no science was discussed), and there was another thing that was canceled due to lack of materials. That was the "science." And she mentioned a lot of time just sitting around "doing nothing." After the first day she actually asked if she might be able to go to Londonderry instead, but we would have had to lose our deposit/registration fees and pay them again. NOT going back!
