We've had a great experience with our toddler at Aquatots. He's been attending since about 13 months to 19 months and we've seen such a big difference in his progress. The instructors are wonderful, the facilities are kept very clean, and all the staff are so helpful. All the monthly decorations are especially well done! I will say the scheduling process for makeup classes can be a little annoying, but calling the front desk usually helps.

Samoane is phenomenal! She is animated and listens to the kids, knowing when to push and when not to. My daughter has progressed with her so much. She has also gained the trust of my daughter which is huge for us because she hated classes until we found the right coach for her needs. We also love Aquatots Clark! My daughter has been attending Aqua Tots for about 3 years now and we have been so happy with our experience here and my daughter’s make up lesson yesterday was just another example. My daughter has sensory processing issues which can cause impulsive behaviors. Coach Bridget recognized when she was struggling and sent her to see me for a break, which is exactly what my daughter’s occupational therapist had recommended. Coach Ty brought my daughter to me for the break and when I explained my daughter’s sensory processing issues she knew exactly what I was referring to, was very knowledgeable and even did some breathing exercises with my daughter. Megan, who works at the front desk, is always so helpful and kind and ensured that this information was added to my daughter’s account so future instructors would be aware of my daughter’s needs. The staff at Aqua TOTs, Clark are so caring and supportive and I would highly recommend them for your child. Thanks to Coach Bridget and Coach Ty, my daughter was able to rejoin the class and be successful, allowing her to still feel good about herself, even after having some difficulties.

This review is long overdue. My son started here when he was 2 years old! He is now 6 years old and my son only wants to go to coach Farrell. He started with Coach Crystal, who I also highly recommend. My 3 year old daughter started with Coach Farrell and she told me she liked him after her first class (which if you met my daughter you’d know that’s a huge compliment). My son is always excited every time we have swim and asks me to makes sure it’s Coach Farrell. Coach Farrell and Coach Crystal are both great with kids, friendly, patient and knows how to effectively communicate with them, and allows them feel comfortable in the water. I also drive the 15-20 minutes it takes me to get to this location when there are other swim schools within 10minutes from my home. Quality coaches matter and I’ll happily drive out of my way for that any day.

Parents beware of this place!!! Our 3 year old was super excited to start classes as she loves the water. The instructor took her to the back with 3 other swimmers he didn’t even introduce her to the water let her get comfortable.He started fully submerging the kids one by one. All of the kids looked terrified and my daughter starting crying and he still submerged her!she started coughing and the desk supervisor brought her to the back with to me. The other issue is they make you pay the month upfront and offer 0 refunds! She was in the water maybe 6 minutes and I couldn’t get anything back! The worst part is my daughter wants nothing to do with water anymore. They need to do better and have real instructors and not young kids!

Coach Farrell is amazing! My son has had several coaches at aqua tots and has done well but under Coach Farrell his skills have exploded. Farrell has taken the time to not only make sure my son advances the skills he needs work on but also makes sure he is enjoying himself. I’d like to share my experience at Aqua-Tots in Clark in hopes of helping other parents decide if this is the right fit for their families. We had a gift certificate for swim lessons for our 3-year-old son and scheduled a free trial lesson to get started.

From the beginning, the experience was difficult for our son. He tends to be slow to warm up in new environments—we saw similar hesitation when he started karate, gymnastics, soccer, and even nursery school—so we anticipated he might be nervous. That said, we were hoping the instructor would meet him with warmth and encouragement to help ease the transition. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.

While the instructor occasionally smiled, she seemed fairly disengaged and offered very little in the way of comfort or connection. Our son was crying, visibly upset, and reaching for us through the glass, but there was no effort to soothe him or build any rapport before trying to engage him in the water. Instead, she began submerging him despite his distress. As a teacher myself, I believe strongly in the importance of building trust before teaching—especially when it comes to something as sensitive and potentially scary as being in the water with a stranger.

Midway through the class, he asked to go to the bathroom. I met him outside, and he told me he didn’t want to go back in. After some gentle encouragement, he found the courage to return and finish the class—something that speaks volumes about his character and willingness to try. Still, it didn’t feel like the safe, supportive environment we had hoped for.

After the lesson, we went to the front desk to clarify how our gift certificate would apply. I had been told over the phone that it would cover a full month (four weeks) of lessons, including registration fees, and that we’d even have an $8 credit left over for snacks or merchandise. However, at the desk, we were told we still owed an additional amount (around $20–$30). I mentioned who I had spoken to on the phone, and the staff called her to the front desk. They confirmed that yes, I had been given that information, and they did offer a brief apology for the miscommunication—but we were still asked to pay the difference. While I appreciated the acknowledgment, it left me feeling a bit uneasy and disappointed.

Despite our concerns, we initially scheduled more lessons. But when the next class day came around, my husband and I both had a sinking feeling and hesitated. We ended up canceling. From that cancellation all the way up until that rescheduled date, I kept second-guessing myself and thinking maybe I was being a little too soft about the experience. We would speak to my son at least every other day about "swim school" in an attempt to encourage his return in a positive way. It was working! Regardless of that, we ultimately decided not to return—even if it meant forfeiting the $150 value of the gift certificate. It just didn’t feel right sending our son back into an environment that didn’t prioritize emotional safety along with instruction.

This review isn’t written in anger or as an attack. It’s simply honest feedback from a parent and educator who knows how important emotional connection and trust are—especially for young children learning a life skill like swimming. I truly hope Aqua-Tots takes this into consideration and works toward creating a more nurturing, welcoming experience for families from day one.

Our experience of Aqua Tots was horrific. Four toddlers with one instructor. Second, during my 3-year-old grandson's first lesson, he was plunged underwater three times. I was not allowed to be inside the pool area. He was crying uncontrollably, and they wouldn't let me go to him. At most, he had five minutes of time with the instructor, which I'm glad of because when the "lesson" was over he was so scared he was shaking. Why would you immediately plunge new students underwater as your first act of "instruction"? They don't even know you yet..it was traumatizing. If I could give zero stars I would.

My children have been enrolled in Aquatots for the past three years. In that three years we have met some of the most incredible people including staff. I've been taking my daughter to Aqua Tots for 5 years now. She started at a level 3 barely going under because she was scared but loves water. It was hard to teach her on my own like I did my son, so I sent her here. I've had the best experience with each coach, and she has loved every instructor. Her favorite is coach Junior in which he is awesome. He is very thorough and providing positive feedback. She looks forward to classes every Friday and is swimming like a pro. She is now a level 6 almost 7 and she is learning to back stroke, breaststroke, free style, treading water and working on her form. She is literally not afraid of going under water, you couldn't even tell.

Let me start off by saying that my toddler is 3. We’ve been to many different classes in general and The staff always treated him nicely, and most importantly, with respect. This was not the case at Aquatots in Clark.

We walked in with a minute to spare and the woman at the front asked for our info. My son asked for her name and tried to talk to her. She barely said her name and immediately grabbed him from my hands so fast. I called out that he still needs to take his shirt off and she told me that I can just get another one. Excuse me? I said, “No. He needs to take off his shirt.” (Already some red flags.) My son was taken aback immediately and you could tell that he became uncomfortable. She passed him off to someone who passed him off to someone else who then put him in the pool. Not one person introduced themselves, looked at him, introduced him, or said hi to him or anything. The moment he was put in the pool he started crying hysterically, staring right at me. I tried to motion to him that it was okay but no one would even acknowledge him! The instructor didn’t even introduce herself or say anything until it was his turn to go underwater. Again without being face to face with him or even warning him, she dunked him in, and then immediately put him back on the ledge without a blink, as if he wasn’t even hysterical. Not one person spoke to him like a human being but just passed him around like a bag of chips.

Seeing this I went to the glass door to person #1 that he was hysterical and not one person went up to him to console or explain. I asked if someone can at least talk to him and then person #2 stepped in, claiming that they can’t go to him because they were short staffed. (As I see several staff and lifeguards just walking around the pool.) She told me she was walking around and could see him. (So you leave a hysterical toddler by himself with nothing?) I told her that it makes sense that he would cry at his first class and I know that the instructor has other kids (this isn’t our first toddler class?!) but that you don’t just ignore him like he isn’t there and not say anything or tell him what’s happening. By then I was really upset because she had nothing to say and wouldn’t even try to deescalate the situation as the 6 other staff members/life guards/instructors involved or around her did NOTHING. Everyone just continued to ignore him as he cried harder, so I said, “I need my son please.” The woman stared at me blankly, and just ignored what I said so then I repeated myself. She then kept looking back and forth between me and him, saying nothing. After repeating myself for a total of 3x, I then told her I needed to go get him if she wasn’t going to bring him to me. The woman and 2 guys then stood there like bodyguards and not only refusing to bring him to me, but now refusing to let me get him until I repeated myself AGAIN saying, “bring me my son, now.” After hesitation she told me she can have him meet me towards the back. As I started to walk, I still saw hesitation to even bring him to me. Not one person cared to make my toddler feel more comfortable or try to resolve the situation, even when I was in the back changing him and just sitting and talking to him for a good 15-20 minutes. Once I was mostly out the door a new woman in red, who I never even saw, spoke to, or even knew who she was goes, “Do you want to chat before you leave?” I was already out the door and the door was closing and I go, “no I’m good.”

That was the most uncomfortable, unorganized, place I’ve ever been in. How dare they treat my toddler like that. How dare they treat a parent like that. If you’re going to work with children, you need to know how to treat them. They need to get it together.

I took my 3 year for his first free class today and all the excitement we both felt went down the drain after 20 minutes. The ladies at the front desk were super sweet. I was given a tour of the facility and we had to wait for the 11:30 class with coach Shy. My son was waiting patiently and excited. 11:30 came and the coach comes to get the kids my son had his crocs on and we get to the door he say shoes off. I take his shoes off and he takes him in. First impressions definitely matter ! He didn’t introduce himself to me or my son. He took my son and another girl in. My son has never had experience being in a swim class but he loves the water and he was doing great but then he got submerged in the water and he freaked out. He did not want to listen anymore and he was trying to get out. They take him out and the life guard brings him out to me and doesn’t say a word until I look up and just says yeah well he is trying to climb over and not listening so speak to the front desk to try another class or something. Like ok ! Wow. They didn’t even try to be more patient or give home a chance at another activity. In my personal opinion this being the first time how about waiting to submerge him till the end as most kids do not know how to hold their breath underwater yet. Try to give toddlers trust in you by being friendly and playful with them. I was given another free class next week with a female coach but not sure if I will be taking him. I know my toddler can be difficult at times but it was such a bummer to see the lack of patience and lazy attitude vibes !

Always someone having an accident in the pool…. Make up season isn’t a “make up”. You are already there…. You can get a make up if canceled before scheduled class. Good faith would be make up +1 since you are there and class is already in session/cut short. Something they should consider. Won’t be returning
