Highly disappointed with this place. Have been a member for a few months before they did some renovations.

The entrance is now a tunnel like door. Two of them. And one person can enter at a time. However, it is extremely tight and I am VERY claustrophobic. When you enter the back door closes and you have to stand in there until the front door opens.

I did it going in and was very uncomfortable. As I was leaving, I asked the guys at the front if I can walk out the regular door way in which I was told “no you have to walk out that way” I explained to him how claustrophobic I am and how I can not do that every time I come to the gym. It’s extremely stressful for someone who does not like tight spaces.

They had no consideration when renovating and thinking about how others may feel when it comes to that. I canceled my membership immediately.

To get 2 months free on to my membership which i liked, however, this new scanning in and scanning out system is very inconvenient, we have to go into this entrapment (I’m small and i feel snug in there) wait till the door behind us closes, then wait till the other side opens to get in. And the same is said to exit. I feel like this is a serious fire hazard, and a disaster waiting to happen also not very welcoming to other people that might need to come and loose weight, because these entrapments are extremely small. The only other way is using the handy cap door which is not what anyone who is probably already insecure about their weight has to go through. Im just a little uncomfortable with the whole feeling trapped situation. Im going to wait till my membership is over and find another local place. I have been a member of blink for over 10 years. But i have been coming to this location for around 6/7 years. It has always been nice until recently when they decided to change to “pure gym” the worse happened yesterday. I had my debit card lost and had to get a new one unfortunately i did not update it in the blink app. whenever this happened I usually get a reminder on the app or by the people in the front that my payments didn’t go through, i update it and move on with my life, not this time. 1. I never got reminder on my app, 2, the workers never said anything to me until yesterday when i was informed my account was closed (mind you missed payment was a few days ago, not months) so there was not even grace period to pay. they gave me no other option but to send an EMAIL to customer service, there is no phone number, there is no way to update payment on my app, no way to update in their system only reach them by email and god knows when they will answer. So now i have no account, no access, no option to reopen it, nothing! Its like ive been banned completely. Customer service needs to be better, i know this is an affordable gym but that cant be a reflection of the customer service. Currently trying to find another gym if they dint respond soon.

Editing a previous review because this gym was bought over by pure gym. I'm not a fan of the new gym colors and I don't like their new check in checkout system. I was always a fan of the bright orange. Now It looks bland. The brighter color is always put me in a better mood. Also they didn't even get any new equipment some of the machines don't work properly.

I have been a member of Blink for over a year and I truly like how much cleaner and neater it is than LA fitness down the road. Well, they got new doors today and were showing how to scan in and mine wouldn't go through. Apparently, my membership was canceled IN SEPTEMBER. I told them who canceled it because it wasn't me and why wasn't I informed? Mind you, I have been coming 2-3 times/week and NOT ONCE did anyone let me know upon scanning. I also NEVER recieved an email. I asked the manager who canceled my membership and why wasn't I informed? She stated "Everyone gets an email". I told her I DID recieve one in October to download the new app, which I did with no issues and to please pull up this email to show me on their end. She said "I can't do that."
She informed me I can join online or email them. I said I am not rejoining on behalf of their error.
I am waiting for an email back to hopefully resolve this issue where I will gladly change my rating because the facility is clean and great. But after reading another review of the same issue, it sure sounds like with the merger they are getting rid of blink clients to force them to join again at higher rates which shows NO loyalty to their customers and completely taking advantage.

I do NOT want to scan a QR code to enter. 😔
You may LOSE me as a paying customer if you do not provide a workaround for members like me. 😓

I do not wish to bring a cell phone with me every time I work out. The phone could get lost, misplaced, or even stolen at the gym, while I'm trying to focus on exercising. It is an inconvenience and a distraction to be required to bring a phone in order to scan a QR code.

A bit about me:
I also don't want to download an app to check my car's fluid levels.
I don't want to scan a QR code to view a restaurant menu.
I don't want to connect my coffee maker to a wi-fi network.
I don't want to let Google know my location before showing me the search results.
I don't want to download the Instagram app to see someone's photos.
I don't want to exchange messages with an A.I. chatbot.

** I just want to be a HUMAN BEING & to exercise at the gym. **

I will happily show multiple forms of identification at the front desk, such as a state-issued Driver's License, credit card with my photo, or similar form of i.d.

😃 So please provide a low-tech workaround for members like me.

Its a big open gym with lots of space if you plan on strolling arround..most of the equipment are broken from dinosaur ages and doesn't work right.so you can hurt yourself more than getting a work out...manager on duty will pretend to listen to your complaints but wont do anything..

All these negative reviews need to be investigated. Must be one salty member creating all these accounts. Anyways, the gym has a friendly nice staff. Very helpful. There have been numerous times where i would be forgetful and leave my stuff, the staff would go above and beyond to help me find it. Gym is clean, although some machines could be fixed a bit better. Overall i know the switch from blink to pure gym is hectic, but we must not blame employees. I have been a member for 4 years.

It’s very clean , not very crowd packed , you get your hand on machine most of time , sometime it’s worth to wait a while . Locker rooms and restrooms are clean , hygienic . Machines are good. . Gave 5 stars earlier

When the new management took over , they lost half of the clients . New plan don’t allow guest to come along . If you come with partner, they don’t have anything for you , you have to buy another membership . I been member for 19 years . Finally I cancelled my membership and joined LA Fitness , and they allow guest 365 days . And they have ALOT more machine , some are really top notch, though they are not as clean as blink . I’d you are serious trainer , you will loves variation of machines. I loved blink , but they don’t care about their members, so I made the switch and I m really happy about it . They have sauna and many aerobics classes and a swimming pool if you like that . And for price point it’s cheaper and better . Blink did not retained its old members

If I could do NO STAR I would. I work in customer service this is one of the worst customer experience I’ve had. On September 4 I went to the Lodi location to enquire about a day pass which I would need for September 6 since I’m not a member. I was told to show up the day of my visit and they would do the day pass for me. I show up to meet with my mentee and spend more than 20 mins with Kevin at front desk who told me I could only get the day pass through the app. NOT what his colleague told me two days prior. After an unhelpful exchange with Kevin me and my mentee tried doing the day pass on the app and that was NOT helpful either. And then Kevin would not tell me who the manager was and claimed he didn’t know the telephone number for customer service either. Instead he gave me a general number for their corporate office. Which I called with no success. I guess this place has no interest in getting new members and seems to not care much about standardized training for their staff to ensure that all their staff give people the correct information.

I like blink as a gym but they need to change their cancellation process, it's predatory. It's says you can cancel online on the app but the link you click doesn't take you anywhere you can cancel. So you have to go into the gym to cancel. While cancelling I'm told I'm being charged a cancellation fee, for what? I already pay a monthly fee and an annual equipment fee! I told the employee that I was moving and they asked for proof of residence. How do I have proof of residence if I haven't moved yet? 🤦‍♂️. I'm going to be staying at a friend's anyways. If where I was moving had blink gyms I would have gladly just swapped my locations but they don't. Now I won't ever join a blink or any gym related to them unless they change their cancellation process.

Finding a gym is difficult when you want to contribute yourself to working out and memberships seem pricey, however if you want an afforable gym, Blink is the one to go to. Upon entering its spacious, alot of machines, small lockers near entrance and they have a locker room with showers and restrooms. Its well maintained, and i really enjoy going in the mornings. If they were a bit bigger and had a swimming pool or a sauna with the membership bumping up by $20, i would definitely stay with them. Although i said it was spacious, when its real busy, its does seem a bit crowded with no space to stretch or workout, however i still enjoy the gym itself

I’ve been a member of Blink Fitness since May 2024 and I am very happy about it. I was impressed with how clean and well-maintained the facility is. The gym takes hygiene and cleanliness seriously, which is always a priority for me.

The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a great atmosphere for all members. What really stands out is the management’s responsiveness—they’re always open to feedback and genuinely care about improving the gym experience for everyone. Additionally, the management encourages new coaches to learn and grow, allowing them to develop their coaching skills, which ultimately benefits us, the members.

I do personal training, and the coaches here are not only knowledgeable but also passionate about helping you reach your full potential. They’ve taught me so much—not just about fitness, but about building discipline, staying committed, and adopting healthier eating and lifestyle habits. The coaches know how to push you to do your best while ensuring you stay safe and focused. I’ve learned to challenge myself, build strength, and cultivate a positive mindset, both in and out of the gym.

I’ve been a member for over 8 months. I live 5 miles away & I’m very happy with this gym. Rachel runs a very tight ship. The gym is always very clean, well stocked. The staff always acknowledges myself as well as my guest. They have great equipment! Plenty to go around. If someone is using a machine, I move to something similar! It’s worth the drive since my local gym went DOWN hill. One Con- please get a filtered water fountain 🙏🏼.

I had to leave and not work out due to it being freezing inside with no heat on. Making it super uncomfortable for a work out. The girls locker room is always freezing making it uncomfortable to change. I shouldn’t have to work out with multiple layers on. There’s never enough equipment or smith machines available. I’ve been a member for a few years now but will be considering switching gyms.

it's a nice gym, roomy. Large and clean locker room / bathroom. Good value for what you pay. My biggest complaint and deal breaker ultimately is the location. I can only exercise after work, traffic in the area is very bad during the rush hours. The strip mall this gym is located in gets very congested during rush hours as well. If you can come here early, you will get the best benefit.

**Pros:**
The service is excellent, and the staff are very friendly. The gym offers a huge space with plenty of parking and clean restrooms. Additionally, there are numerous multi-exercise cable machines available.

**Cons:**
However, the gym has only one biceps curl machine, one leg curl machine, and two benches for chest exercises.

These are among the most popular exercises in any gym, and they certainly have the space to add more machines and benches. Unfortunately, it's often difficult to complete a workout because the limited equipment is always in use.

For comparison, the recently closed Paramus Blink gym had twice as many treadmills, two biceps curl machines, two triceps curl machines, and four chest benches. Improving by adding more high-demand exercise machines would make a significant difference.

I had an incredibly frustrating experience with the team at the Lodi, NJ location, which ultimately led me to cancel my membership and personal training sessions.

Despite my repeated attempts to cancel my PT sessions due to a backlog of 15 unused sessions on my account, the staff continuously delayed the process and provided contradictory information. I initially reached out to my personal trainer on 11/22, well before my billing date of 12/4, to request the cancellation. After waiting days for a response, I was told I would need to “freeze” my account—something I explicitly said I didn’t want to do. I just wanted to cancel my PT plan and use the sessions I had already paid for.

After confirming my request again on 11/29, the delays and miscommunication persisted. On 12/1, I received another message reiterating that I couldn’t use my sessions if the account was “frozen,” even though I had clearly stated multiple times that I wanted to cancel, not freeze.

The negligence of the staff caused me to surpass the 10-day cancellation window, forcing me to pay for an additional month of sessions I did not want or need. To make matters worse, their website is non-functional and doesn’t allow members to cancel their accounts, which is not only unprofessional but also illegal in New Jersey, where an easy online cancellation process is required by law.

This whole ordeal was exhausting and unacceptable. I would caution anyone considering this gym to think twice, as the lack of responsiveness and professionalism made what should have been a straightforward process an absolute nightmare.

It gives a spacious vibe .

My mother-in law and I had a terrible experience at the Blink Fitness Lodi. I cannot believe the way that she was treated by the front desk staff. Your staff, the women in particular, ought to receive sensitivity training. Whilst waiting for front desk assistance, the attendant was on her phone, we were made privy to the workplace romances and gossip about one male member in particular, they referred to him as the mayor. All this we learned when we simply came to WORK OUT. We met the “mayor” after his run. He helped me and my mother in-law with our work out. He genuinely seemed very nice and motivated but talked too much. After that I was approached by the same front desk attendant who asked me if he was bothering us and even rolled her eyes when we said he wasn’t and had actually helped us. The staff is rude and disingenuous. It’s time to clean house! If you want to keep my family’s business, you’ll do something about this ASAP! The worst part is that this location is closest to our home, but still we drive 30mins out of our way just to have a decent customer service experience at the Passaic blink. I expect something to be done about this. Instead of sweeping this under the rug like the other negative reviews depicting despicable customer service, do something to make unsatisfied customers feel that “Every Body” matters as YOUR mission statement suggests.

Is there an option for 0 Stars?!? I am so disappointed by how Blink Fitness and its staff have handled my case and the outcome of their decision.

I have been a blink customer for over a decade, and on Monday I received a call saying that I was now banned from all blinks companywide due to "incidents" that have occurred over the past few weeks. There seems to be a character limit so I shall list them in a later review.***

In this complaint I will inform all potential gym goers of the terrible customer service, favoritism, collusion, and mistreatment of guests that happens during the work hours, what happened to me and why it will be better to not fund Blink Fitness or its subsidiaries. It has taken me about 3 days to write this because I wanted to make sure I did not leave a single thing off. The motto that "Blink is for everyone" is a load of hooey and gas lighting.

On Monday, August 8th, 2024 at around 4:30 PM I scanned into Blink Fitness Lodi. I greeted the front desk staff as I always do and did not receive a greeting. (This has been an ongoing complaint that I have made to the Manager Rachel and her staff many times. When I go to different Blink Fitness' other customers and I usually get greeted by a smiling associate and that never occurs in Lodi. Even before these incidents the staff has always been rude and dislikable with many guests complaining about it in the gym.) When I scanned in, I attempted to walk in and store my things in the locker and was stopped by Rachel. She asked me if I received a call from her manager to which I responded "no, I don't think so" and continued to walk. She kept in front of me and asked me to check my phone. I looked and said "oh yea, I do have a missed call. And that I would call them later. She still shuffled in front of me and told me to check my messages as her manager had left me a message. As the gym was too loud, I informed her that I would hear it after my run to which she cheerfully replied that her boss, "Milton" and other superior staff had made the decision to terminate my membership company wide. I asked her, For what? What happened? Looking to the other attendant, Nicole, for her reaction, no surprise another smile. Rachel told me that it was out of her control and that all answers I sought would be explained to me by Milton who was eagerly awaiting my call. I told her that I will call him and get everything straightened out to which she laughingly replied "even if you speak to him and he allows you back, I cannot allow you back in today. (Yeah, that never happened, Milton "North Jersey Regional Supervising Manager" is probably the most difficult person to get a hold of. I called the number and got another blink fitness that kept me on hold for about 10 mins only to tell me that he had left the location at noon, he's not coming back and best of all, I will have no communication options to reach him. For context I received his call at 1:06 PM.) To me, these events were all vindictive and retaliatory for my complaints about staff to Rachel earlier last month.

I still harken back to the cockamamie motto, Blink is for everybody & sure that sounds great, but what happens when the staff do not adhere to those ideals, when employment is a revolving door of new arrogant faces who can only manage to lift their heads from their cellphones to only receive paychecks as they await for better opportunities, while passing down their ill-gotten morals to the new impressionable staff in a never ending cycle. What happens you finally achieve your fitness goals and become someone. Well then, to them you are nobody. A nobody they can slander and kick out without a moment's notice on false accusations and conniving storytelling. For those new to Blink Fitness Lodi, I urge you to go to the other "fantastic" locations, my personal favorite, Paramus, and to those loyal customers who still believe the staff has your best interest in mind, be careful who you trust among them its only a matter of time before you end up like me.

I am a member of Blink since 2013, with an an all access membership. I use the Lodi location Fu regularly as I live in New Jersey and work in Manhattan. The staff is exemplary. I’ve known Rachel since she worked at Passaic. SHES GREAT. the assistant manager AM Nicole is very friendly, always says hello, lovely person and Eric is one of my favorite part-timers Hes either on the floor or at the desk always keeping an eye on everything and very friendly. I’d hate to see anything happen to this gym as I’ve already lost the Penn Station location. It’s been very difficult to get comfortable anywhere else. The gyms in Manhattan seem to be in need of upgrades and are VERY crowded with MUCH wasted space. Coming to Lodi when I can and am able to see the same lovely people working there is very important and I hope that Blink corporate realizes the great team that they have in Lodi. AND I HOPE A SECOND LEG EXTENSION IS ON ITS WAY,, as this is the only location ever to only have one. It’s truly a problem. :/

If there is a minus zero star I would put it down in this comment. Be careful people once you sign in with these people you stuck with them we had bad experience just to cancel. They will charge a fee to cancel. Besides that the gym is so dirty and the Equipment are too old and some of them make noise when you pull it. Look around for better options.

Signed up for 1 month, made several attempts to cancel before the end of the 1st 30days but there were issues with the kiosk. Finally got a "manager to help" and they wanted $63.96 yearly fee and 3 months membership fee to cancel. After a long conversation, Manager Rachel agreed to just the $63.96 to cancel. Fast forward 7 months later and they have been charging me the entire time. Rachel blatantly lied and said I had not been charged except for 2 months but when I showed up at the location another employee printed out the charges and I have been charged every month since the cancelation. Steer clear of Blink, they are willing to lie, cheat and steal to make a buck!

The staff is knowledgeable and friendly abd the gym is always clean.
I had the pleasure of working with a trainer by the name of Anthony for a few sessions.
I had fallen and fractured my left foot and no longer needed physical therapy so I decided to rejoin the gym.
Anthony listened to my needs and provided guidelines for exercises that is suitable for my condition and to strengthen my leg.
It was indeed a pleasure working with him.highly recommend Anthony.

Back in November 2023, I took the decision to join the gym for the first time. It was really hard for me as a mom of three to find the time. However, I have to Thank Anthony for helping me on my very first day. I had no intention to have a trainer but He was so nice and friendly so I decided to try for a month. I am glad I did it. Anthony, you are a great trainer. I enjoy exercising because of you. Thanks for being patient, and always accommodate my needs. I will definitely recommend you as a trainer and Blink at lodi. Love this gym. However there is a someone who works there who seems to flicker the lights when it’s time to go starting half an hr before closing. When I go in the afternoon on Saturday it is CONSTANT but only when this person is there . I think they are a supervisor or manager . I understand that it might be standard to do so . They shut the lights in the locker room which makes people take longer to leave because THEY CANT SEE . I almost fell off the treadmill once because I was startled . Someone in the locker room said they had epilepsy and this person kept doing it . I saw them in the manager room stretching so I imagine they were getting ready for their workout after hours . Maybe they need a PA system because you can give someone a seizure like that and there goes a lawsuit . PLEASE STOP FLICKERING THE LIGHTS SO OFTEN ! I hope that they never have to treat someone for a seizure because of this .Everyone else that works there is a sweetheart . I understand being a hard person but that is too far . It was also like 6:58 the gym closes at 7pm give people a chance to get their stuff and leave . Will be sending an email to corporate as well to see what can be done .

Affordable gym.It has four half squat racks.They are placed to close together and crooked.No space to get to the back to access the weights.There is space to properly space them but staff has not spaced them properly. There is no dedicated incline bench like other Blink Locations.Other than that not a bad gym.

Great local gym, in the heart of Lodi. It has all the essentials. It does lack lots of different machines. But for the price you can't go wrong. They just recently added a bigger training area. It's quiet, clean, and you go in and out. When it comes to power lifting with free weights, you aren't going to find anything bigger than 90 lbs. Have that in mind. They are open from 5am-11pm so the schedule is great !!

It’s just dirty and not a safe environment with everything that is going on. Nobody wipes down equipment. I’m probably the only person that does. The gym overall is okay… friendly staff and plenty of equipment… but I’m most likely canceling once my year is up because of how dirty it is. I don’t use weights at all anymore because I don’t want to touch them. When I wiped them down the wipes turn a different color which shows they aren’t cleaned enough. I strictly go for the treadmill and only when it’s too cold out to run outside.

UPDATE 8/6/23

I’ve given this gym over a year to get its act together. I’m switching to LA Fitness next month. I’d rather pay the extra money for a clean facility with a pool than this place.

1.) Equipment is not cleaned. I am one of the first people entering the building every morning to avoid crowds and germs. There are sweat marks on almost every piece of equipment I use and I’m the first one to use them.
2.) The hand weights smell like rotten fish every day. I’m not exaggerating. The smell is overpowering. Which means they are never cleaned.
3.) They are out of soap weekly which means members cannot wash their hands after using the equipment. For me, after Covid, that is non-negotiable. Same with the wipes. They run out often.
4.) I left a message with the desk to discuss with the manager and never got a call back. EDIT: I did get a call back today 9/11 and Rachel was very nice.
5.) I just paid 60 dollars for the annual fee. For what? Fishy and dirty equipment and no soap and wipes half the time?
6.) see attached photo of the wipes after I wipe down the weights. Just to give you a broader picture. I would never recommend this gym.

UPDATE 10/7/23 -

I do feel like I’m seeing a difference. There has been no shortage in hand wipes or sanitizer. Soap in the men’s room hasn’t been empty. Weights don’t smell like fish anymore. So that’s a good start. I’ll wait it out a bit longer before switching gyms.

Not a bad gym but it's not good either.
-The dumbbells often have an unpleasant smell to them.
-The walls have holes from weights and divots in the floor.
-The equipment is showing very obvious degradation while no new equipment replaces them. (Where does the maintenance fee money go?)
-They're raising their membership fees by $2 a month when they aren't changing anything.
-Allows highschool students (under 18 y/o without a parent or guardian)

Overall it's a no frills gym for the average person looking to get in shape or maintain. Bodybuilders, powerlifters, crossfit, etc should look elsewhere. It's not the best around but it isn't the worst.

This gym is just terrible, should be avoided at all cost. Half the gym is full of treadmills and cardio equipment that is barely half full. There’s only two bench presses so good luck being able to find one available. Most people here go in groups to chat and record themselves working out and management doesn’t seem to care. Went this morning at 6:30 under the impression that they would be open at 5am, as stated on both the Google listing and the front door of the building. Gym was closed, several cars waiting in the parking lot with their lights on. Waited an extra 15 minutes and left. Not a good first impression when trying to switch up my workout schedule. The gym gets crazy busy after work hours and no one cleans their machines, so I wanted to try going early... I guess that won't be happening.

The gym it's cool people are nice but it's hard to use the weight machines in there people hogg up those machines. If you are sick need to take a break, they do not have a freeze type of policy in place, which they should start doing so. You be paying and never go because your sick or something.

Blink fitness in Lodi, NJ is a great gym to work out in , affordable, friendly staff, nice size gym. The only issue I have is they need more leg equipment, and the weights and barbells need to be more higher in weight. I’m a power lifter and the dumb bells only go to 90lbs and they have minimal leg equipment. Besides that I’m happy.

Used to be great, and still is in terms of equipment.
Reason for 2 stars is the fact that some employee let their buddies walk right in without checking in "im 65 and that doesn't make me feel safe." Front desk is always unattended when manager isn't there. Tall Asian dude just stays in the office on the phone, and i have notice people getting angry waiting to pay for a "WATER" or something like that.

Please stop hiring lazy people addicted to their PHONES!!!!!

I was a member a while back and canceled membership due to my free 30 minute training session never taking place. I rejoined about a month ago, again setting up free 30 minute training session. Upon arrival for my scheduled session, I was told by the receptionist that the trainer I was supposed to be assigned to was not employed there anymore. The receptionist was not helpful in re-assigning someone else. My personal reason for the trainer session is so I won't hurt myself on the machines and learn to do them accurately. I did not receive a phone call or email letting me know about the cancellation on their part with respect to my free 30 minute training session. As such, the front desk should be trained to answer questions. When I asked about a manager, I was told not one was there that day. Upon leaving, I asked again about a manager and was told an "assistant" manager would be on the premises the following day. Very unprofessional!
