Hi. I am 62 years old, male, busy professional. Brain and Body is really working for me.
I have been working out with Mark, Lex and team for about 18 months, and have noticed some pretty significant changes to my body; I've lost about 20 pounds and 2-3 inches off my waist (my clothed don't fit!), and I've gotten considerably stronger, particularly in my core.
If you believe the metrics from my Apple Watch, my cardio health is significantly better:
Resting heart rate: from 61 at the start to 50bpm today
Heart variability from 30ms to 57ms today
VO2Max from 26 to 29 (from below to above average)
BP 120/90 to 110/80

I walk about 11500 steps every day, but was not seeing any similar gains until Brain and Body. 2 visits a week.

For two years, I was in and out of physical therapy. Hamstring issues, lower back pain, knee injury, and then, shoulder pain. Even though I have always been active and fit, I was missing a level of strength and mobility. A bone density scan at 52 showed the signs of emerging osteo issues.

I started working with the Brain and Body crew 7 months ago. Great team, practical and integrated in how they approach building strength, stability, and mobility. I see the signs of improvement. I feel stronger, more stable, balanced, and have increased mobility and flexibility in all the things I love to do…yoga, pilates, gardening, paddleboarding, and hiking. And, I haven’t needed physical therapy since I started working with the team!!

Fifteen months ago, I was at a very low ebb, having broken my wrist and subsequently been diagnosed with osteoporosis. I recently received the results of my second DEXA scan, and my bone strength has increased across the board. Although some of these reversals can be attributed to nutrition and supplements, I credit Brain & Body Method with helping me to understand what my body needs right now and to so sympathetically and patiently working with me twice a week for the past year. Mark and Lex have created a place that works wonders. If you are prepared to put the work in yourself, they and their trainers are with you every step of the way. I've been pushed beyond what I thought possible and feel better physically and mentally in every way. I simply can't imagine life without my twice-weekly visits and love the safe way they work with me. Thank you!

I am so happy I overcame my skepticism and gave this a try! After kids, life, joining the “sandwich generation” and Covid… I was trying to get out of a 10 year sedentary rut that was sucking all my energy. I went back to CrossFit, it felt punishing at my age; I tried classes; pilates and a home gym but with a crazy schedule the time I could dedicate to these was not making enough of a difference to stay motivated and justify the stress of carving the time in the first place. After the second trial session at B&BM I was sold! I signed up for a year, which I have never done before. The year has passed, I just renewed and I am still as excited as the first day. My energy is back, my neck and back stoped bothering me, I sleep through de night every night and, the best part, I still look forward to going. Everyone there is just the right mix of friendly and buisness and very good at what they do! Another great thing, regardless of age or fitness level (for real) you’ll be surprised the how soon you can feel the benefits. I know these are big claims people, I wouldn’t bother to review otherwise. TRY IT!!!

I’ve been skiing most of my life, and now, approaching 50, I actually feel stronger on the slopes than ever. No more soreness or tightness after a full day out—and that’s thanks to Brain & Body.

The workouts are just 30 minutes, which makes it easy to fit into my schedule. Every session is guided by a great trainer who keeps it safe, effective, and tailored to me. The equipment is high-tech and tracks progress, which is super motivating.

It’s a smart mix of strength, core, cardio, coordination, and even cognitive training. I’ve never trained like this before—and I’m feeling the difference.

I've been working out at Brain & Body for almost a year and continue to see the benefits of it every day. As a mother of 2 young children, the efficiency of the workout and the quality of that training (in the short 30 minutes) is of utmost importance. The care that Mark, Lex, and the rest of the trainers put into each client that walks through the door is unmatched from anywhere else I've worked out; they truly design the workout to meet you where you are and are still able to push you to become the strongest version of yourself. I started seeing the effects within a few weeks and have gotten many comments on my arms, which helps :) I highly recommend to anyone!

So it's not hyperbole to say that I have been trying my whole life to find an exercise habit that will "stick." I've tried almost everything. But as I reached my mid-50s, I felt a new urgency because I just started to feel myself becoming weaker and could see myself losing muscle. I tried Brain and Body because I could do short, intense sessions--and that fit my schedule. 18 months ago, I started with 2 per week, but quickly increased to 3 times per week because I was feeling so much better after each session. I am feeling stronger than I have in a very long time.

I love that I can have 3 sessions a week with a trainer and work on different aspects of my fitness-- strength, balance, coordination, cognitive, cardiovascular. I love that I can see feedback on the machines that challenges me to work harder. I love that I get coaching on building muscle and maintaining long term fitness, all with a very positive atmosphere. It's done wonders for me and I'm really grateful I found it!

This place is a miracle! I feel SO fortunate to have found Brain & Body Method.
I used to have bad joint pain from AS, and since joining BBM, it has all gone away. I am also in better shape than I have been in 10+ years, and I only have to workout 2 times a week for only 20-30 min per session - yes only 40-60 min PER WEEK!
On top of that - Mark, Lex, and the rest of the crew are so amazing to be around. Even though they are working you incredibly hard, they make the entire experience so personable and fun. Hanging out with them is something I look forward to each week.
If you want to get back into shape, or maintain what you've got, or just try working out for the first time, I couldn't recommend trying Brain & Body Method more.

After years of being inconsistent with my workouts, I finally found this amazing place and I love it.
I workout twice a week for 25 mins( short and sweet:) and after a month I already started to see results!! My energy level is going up and I feel healthy and strong, my body is also changing and I feel more confident:)
You get 1:1 training and all the trainers are excellent and super knowledgeable.

The Brain and Body team and method are fantastic. As a parent of three young children with a busy professional life, this program makes it possible for me to have short, high-impact sessions, and get back to my day-to-day feeling healthy and energized. The team is also very thoughtful about a holistic health approach that extends beyond exercise. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Also wanted to add that after a year-plus of working with BBM, the numbers from my annual physical showed a massive improvement over the previous year: cholesterol, iron, vitamin D, across the board. Big thanks to the BBM team!

I've been training at B&BM for the past couple of months. When I started looking into personal training, it was a top recommendation so I decided to give it a shot. It has far exceeded my expectations! As others have said, the training itself is personalized, intense and fits into a 30 min session. I leave every workout feeling both exhausted and accomplished.

For me, what's been invaluable though, is the additional guidance and education. I've always hated leg day and when working out at traditional gym, I experienced issues with pain or soreness (especially with heavier weights). The trainers at B&BM took my injury history and goals into account, and helped guide me through warm-ups, proper form, breathing and stretching -- even tips for things to do outside of the gym. This has made a huge impact on how I approach working out!

I'm so thankful that they were recommended and would advise anyone interested in challenging themselves and improving their fitness to sign up!

I absolutely love the Brain & Body Method! As a full-time working mom of two young kids, finding time to exercise has always been a challenge. But after six months here, I can confidently say (for the first time in my life!) that I am now a regular exerciser and will be able to keep this up. The twice-weekly, 30-minute sessions fit seamlessly into my schedule, making it realistic and sustainable. The workouts are super effective without leaving me exhausted or drenched in sweat, so I can easily fit them in before work or anytime.

One of the best parts is that I’m always guided by a personal trainer. The trainers are all fantastic—supportive, knowledgeable, and motivating. Having a scheduled appointment with these amazing coaches makes it easy to stay committed, even when life gets hectic. Plus, the gym’s innovative exercise equipment tracks my progress, so I can actually see my improvements over time.

I feel so healthy and strong, and I’m making incredible progress! My arms have never looked better, and unlike other programs, I’m not constantly sore.

If you’re looking for a gym that fits into a busy lifestyle while delivering real, lasting results, I can’t recommend Brain & Body Method Gym enough!

I have been going to Brain and Body twice a week for the past four months. I’m happy to say that I am much stronger (and healthier) now. I’m in and out in 30 minutes - which is crucial for my schedule. I love how efficient I can workout there, accomplishing much more there in a half hour than I do on my own with more time. And I can load up with heavier weights more safely, guided by personal trainers. I’ve become more educated recently on the importance of strength training and bone health for women, especially. I’m happy to say that I’ve already made major improvements, proven by my latest dexascan as well as other trackers. The owners are also wonderful, extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to their clients. I’m a big fan and recommend Brian and Body to anyone who wants to make a positive change in their fitness and bone health and/or someone who doesn’t have much time to fit in exercise.

I have been going to Brain and Body for about 8 months and it has been TRANSFORMATIONAL. I, like many people, have a very demanding (both emotionally and physically) full time job , a family and travel to see my aging parents. All this to say that I have no regular schedule or life. I came to BB because I needed more weight training for my bone health. What I found at BB was not only an incredibly welcoming community, but also a group of people that have helped me with my strength, thinking speed, my tennis game (I was a college tennis player) and outlook in life. I no longer feel like I "just have to get through this week". I am physically and mentally stronger and healthier than ever. ( I know this sounds like I am a bot or paid to say this) but it is 100% true! The time investment is small compared to the gains and everything I have received. I encourage you to reach out to me if you have any doubts or questions but I challenge you to go and do a trial period. You will not regret it.

B&BM has been an excellent personal training experience for me over the last 9+ months. I started when I was newly postpartum, when I was short on time but eager to start moving and strengthening my body, in a safe and careful way. I was drawn to B&BM's personal attention and unique equipment + approach to building strength, and I immediately noticed myself getting stronger. 9 months later, I am still challenged each time I go and am continuing to build strength. As a busy working parent, I also really appreciate how efficient the sessions are (<30mins). Highly recommend giving B&BM a try/trial if you are considering, no matter where you are in your fitness journey - it is a great way to push yourself and you will no doubt find the exercises challenging and interesting, and the training team is lovely too!

I have been a member of Brain and Body Method for a few months and my experience has been great. I started with 2 strength workouts per week, but recently upped it to 3. My overall strength has improved significantly for normal activities and my golf game. The 30 minute workouts are intense (only if you want them to be. You push as hard as you feel). All the trainers are knowledgeable and great motivators, (but cool about it). Sometimes I come in thinking I’ll go a bit lighter, but wind up going hard thanks to motivation. The equipment is different than anything I was used to. No weights, all resistance that adapts to your strength. I was skeptical at first, but this kind of workout, (time under tension) is very efficient for me. I’m 56 years old, but I never worry about injury at Brain and Body, (thanks to equipment and trainers). I’m focused on strength and core training now. The recovery is great as well, especially if you go heavy on the legs. Altogether I can’t say enough good things about B& B. It’s everything I wanted and more, and I highly recommend it.

I'm approaching my one year anniversary with Mark and the team at Brain and Body. I'm really happy I started this program of working with a trainer two times a week and I intend to stick with it. As expected, I really felt the difference after month three, but I've continued to see improvements in my health. I'm stronger and feel more fit in general. My tennis game markedly improved with my new athleticism as well. I've recommended the B&B team to a few others and they've also had a really positive experience. If you are looking for a low impact and high results program to regain strength and flexibility, this is the one to consider.

I heard about the Brain and Body Method through someone I admire and trust. I knew this person wouldn’t steer me wrong. I was looking for something definite to help me meet a fitness challenge and goal I had set for myself.

I am 3 months in and I am meeting this particular goal. Plus, I am discovering other health benefits from this training process that I never considered when I committed myself.

I do not live locally, and I have a short window of time to work out. That was the first part of this process for me. Could Brain and Body accommodate my schedule? Yes, they did. I was very specific with the day and time, and I got it. I am greeted first thing in the morning after my commute with a smile, excitement, and a physical and mental check-in from my trainer. Then, in just thirty minutes, I leave sweaty and invigorated, and ready to take on my day, which is usually physically and emotionally draining,

The session begins with a deep warm-up, and then my trainer personally takes me through the process on state-of-the-art equipment. There is consistency in the challenges, but my trainer changes it up and builds on my progress. It is far from boring! My endurance has strengthened, and my coordination, breathing, and mind-body connection are developing. My mind used to wander. I would be panicking about how many emails I would have when I got out. I would be going through my to-do list while warming up or on the bike. Now, I can stay present and focus on the skills I am building. This is because my trainer stays with me, coaches me through the directives, plays great music, and is proud of me and my progress. My trainer takes time to educate me on what my body is being asked to do and what the equipment is doing for me and even chats with me about nutrition and how to introduce self-care throughout the day so my instrument continues to benefit from the training practice during the day and the days in between our sessions. At the end of the workout, I stretch, hydrate, and leave in the fresh air pumped and primed! In 30 minutes!!!

I realized when I started at Brain and Body that I hadn’t changed my workouts in over eight years. I am in my 50s and have a career that requires me to be on my feet and very physical. For 30 years, I had been caring for others and not myself. This practice was going to be a huge challenge because of the logistics and the mental breakthrough I was looking for. So, not only am I getting better because of the core strengthening, cardio, and recovery, but I am sleeping deeper, waking up with no aches and pains, processing my food better, drinking more water, and staying alert longer. The best part is my confidence in myself and my ability to be effective in my career has grown tremendously in such a short time. I knew I could do it, but I had to find the right program. The Brain and Body Method is a positive environment in which the concepts are researched and provided by highly educated and personable people who care deeply about their clients.

The studio is spotless. Equipment is always clean; all clients are treated with respect and the place is intimate in the sense that when a few clients are working out at the same time, I don’t even notice them because the trainers are focused on their client and we are all in “the zone”.

This is 100% the best decision I have made for myself in a long time. Sometimes, making a small change will bring big results, and with the Brain and Body Method, you might find yourself exceeding your own expectations both mentally and physically. I am now ready to up my game and create a new fitness goal, and The Brain and Body Method will do it for me.

I really appreciate their approach to exercise/wellness. The sessions are fairly brief (but really efficient), so it’s easy to fit it into a busy schedule. They are good at motivating and monitoring form, progress, etc. You have the attention of a personal trainer throughout the session.

At age 61, I’m focusing on strength and mobility, stamina. Even though I hadn’t worked out in a few years, and I have ongoing challenges with vertigo, I have been able to make progress. They are very adaptable and respect YOUR goals and your abilities. This is not a place where people yell or shame. The vibe is positive and friendly. Clients are of all ages and levels of fitness. I’m very glad to have found them, and to my surprise, I’ve been very consistent. If you’re on the fence, just try an intro session!

I love Brain & Body Method. The training is definitely not one-size-fits all. They are great at working with you on a plan that’s just right for you to tailor your training to meet your needs, physical abilities and goals. Mark, Lex and RC in particular are fantastic and they challenge my body in ways that traditional gyms/trainers have not in the past. I love the machines and the staff never ceases to surprise me with a different exercise that is inventive, safe, targets a specific muscle group and fun (which is not something I usually equate to working out!). They alway give very clear guidance and encouragement and ask me how I feel (which is so important so you don’t injure yourself or exacerbate an injury). The machines also track your progress so you can see from work out to work out how much you are improving (or the extent to which you are having an off-day). My arms, back and legs are no longer sore after playing golf (even carrying my clubs) and my flexibility has definitely increased. I also love the lymphatic massage (recovery) so definitely give it a try.

I have been a member at Brain and Body Method for almost a year. I usually find it difficult to enjoy any type of exercise or follow a workout plan by myself. I easily lose motivation or interest. It's hard to believe and even admit but I actually look forward to going each week.

This has been a game changer for me, the environment is so welcoming, the personal trainers are super knowledgeable and positive. Their equipment tracks all my progress, week to week, I can see my improvements in my strength. My bone health is a top priority to me and I know it's essential to do consistent strength training to maintain and improve my bones.

The sessions are really quick and efficient, I am in and out the door in under 30minutes, that has helped me stay consistent. They are always very flexible and adaptive to my scheduling needs.

The other aspect I didn't realize is how beneficial lymphatic massage can be. They have 2 Ballancer Pro suits used by celebrities and athletes, you will be so hooked on how relaxing and restorative this process can be.

If you are looking for a workout that's unique, effective, measurable and safe, give them a try!

If I’m being honest, when I first read the literature about this place, I thought it sounded too good to be true. I was very close to not participating in the trial. 15 minutes into the first session, I was like OK, these guys are not messing around. Regular gyms just don't have equipment like this, I share some of the sentiments of other members. The equipment in here is something you’d see on pro sports teams or top college teams, but at the same time, it’s totally safe. Your experience, your output on the machines is also totally private. All that said, what I think is most special, is the 1:1 training, coaching and encouragement, and the fact that you always have an appointment. You gotta show up! My wife feels the same way, we are crushed whenever one of us has to miss a workout. The methodology here, the approach, the machines and the feeling afterwards are a natural high we look forward to every week!

I've been going to Brain & Body Method for 9 months now, and I can't recommend it highly enough. I actually enjoy going there (and even look forward to it) -- something I've never experienced with any other workout!

Mark, Lex, Ardit and Suzi are all excellent trainers, and you can tell that they genuinely care about their clients and are excited seeing them progress. They are extremely knowledgeable, patient, and motivating, working one-on-one with each client at their own pace so that you gradually get stronger and fitter. There are no drill sergeants here! They guide you to better physical and mental health in a way that's gentle, highly effective, and safe.

Since I've started, I've gained muscle, I move around much more easily, I've lost inches around my waist and hips, and my core is noticeably stronger. Their equipment is state-of-the-art and actually fun to use, since you can track your progress (which also helps with motivation)! It's also super-efficient. You'll be in & out in just 30 minutes. Two words come to mind when describing Brain & Body: efficient and effective. Truth be told I was initially skeptical of their process. I already had a workout and recovery regime in the little free time that I have as a mom of a preschooler with a demanding full time job in finance. I didn’t think adding 20 minutes 2 times a week would make much of a difference as someone who used to train 1-2 hours a day in the gym before having a child. I was also nervous to try something new after sustaining multiple injuries postpartum, but I decided to give it a shot with their generous trial period.

And that’s when I realized how great their services truly are and have been hooked since. I finally found a place where I could get 1 on 1 strength coaching with intelligent systems that adjusted to my body’s natural ability in just 20 minutes, along with recovery services when I need it. All the trainers at Brain & Body are pleasant, personable, and know when to push and pull back, taking into account not just your physical strength but where your headspace is at. I didn’t think it was possible to max out in only a few minutes time on several of their sophisticated machines, getting the most out of the short time spent there. I also haven’t felt this strong after avoiding most upper body workouts due to a wrist injury, but the team found ways to circumvent my issues in an effective way. I’m feeling more confident in my own skin and have seen results as measured by their InBody system that’s also available for use, and couldn’t be happier with their services. As someone who has very little free time, Brain & Body is worth adding into my hectic schedule. The team is also extremely understanding of unforeseen schedule changes (read: school closings on snow days, sickness, etc), and has always found a way to accommodate me. Highly recommend coming here. It’s a hidden gem in the heart of Upper Montclair that you won’t regret being a part of.

The benefits begin immediately as you gain muscle strength from working on their smart equipment which helps you track your progress. After about six months, I feel much stronger, have more energy and have noticed a change in my body that never happened from just doing cardio exercise in the past. The sessions are quick, 30 mins max, which makes its easy to fit into a busy schedule and serves as a nice way to break up the day. You always have a personal trainer dedicated to your work out to coach you along. They have various types of work out from strength, coordination, core, cognitive fitness, cardio and recovery! Recovery are the best as your muscles go into a state of pure relaxation. If you are feeling like you are stuck in the same workout for too long, you should definitely give this place a try. I promise you will thank me!

Over the last 45+ years, I have exercised, played various sports, and danced. I have attended (and taught) fitness classes, spent hours lifting weights, swimming laps, running; playing golf, tennis, and skiing; practicing Yoga, Pilates, and even some Tai Chi. I have been coached by personal trainers and been in and out of physical therapy since 2000 when I blew out my knee skiing.

I am 68 years old and I am cautious of fitness solutions and fads. My health and my time are precious. That's why I appreciate the Brain and Body Method and the professional staff who work with me and other clients to improve our health and fitness efficiently.

The Brain and Body Method is unique and compelling with flexible, competitive pricing. Customized 30-minute sessions are professionally coached. State of the art equipment tracks your results in real time. The Method ticks all the boxes: cardio, core, cognitive, strength, mobility, safety, community, and recovery. It's effective and efficient.

And, it's fun. Really fun!

Give it a try. Soon, you will be writing a review like this one.

I am 68 with aches and pains and some minor injuries that kept me from working out. This place carefully created a program that got me back into exercise and did not exacerbate my problems. There was always a trainer with me guiding my incremental progress done with unique high tech machines. It got me back into doing exercise which I continued after these workouts. In total I became much healthier with weight loss and lower blood pressure.

Brain & Body Method Montclair is great!
The emphasis on short sessions doesn't compromise the effectiveness of the workouts. In fact, I am always surprised by how much of a work out I get in just half an hour. Mark, Ardit, Susie, and Lex are knowledgeable and motivating, ensuring that every minute counts during the session.

What sets Brain and Body Method apart is their focus on not just physical strength, but also mental acuity. The integration of cognitive exercises alongside strength training adds a unique dimension to the workouts, keeping both the mind and body engaged throughout the session.

The facility itself is equipped with very innovative and top of line professional equipment and the personalized attention from the instructors keeping you motivated and making sure form is correct is so awesome.

Overall, I highly recommend Brain and Body Method to anyone seeking efficient and effective strength training. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned athlete, their 30-minute sessions offer a convenient way to achieve your fitness goals without sacrificing quality or results.

I started in June and after only a short trial period, I signed up for a full year. I absolutely love it and would highly recommend trying it out!

Brain and Body is a very different experience and far from a regular gym or class workout. The short 30 minute individual sessions are a perfect length and easy to fit into a busy week - either before or after work or even during the day.

Mark and Ardit have been great trainers. Very knowledgeable, motivating and fun to work with. Each session really feels well thought-out, personalized and always a challenging.

The equipment is world class, and has enough variations that you don’t get tired of the same routine.

Personally I love the high altitude training on the bike and have really noticed the difference in my stamina over the last few months.

I would highly recommend giving this place a try! It’s great!

I joined Brain and Body Method 4 months ago, and not only have I started to achieve the goals I set myself with Mark and the team, but I’ve throughly enjoyed the process too.

Brain and Body Method is totally different from any workout I’ve done before. I feel like I’ve learned more about my body and what’s good for it in this short time than I have in many years prior trying out different classes and different workouts. Everything is tracked, considered and personalized to your goals and wants, mixing cognitive, cardio and strength. The equipment is world class, and varied enough that you don’t get bored and can build on previous workouts and track your progress.

I feel physically stronger than I did when I started, and it’s made me really consider my lifestyle in general. It’s not a fad and it’s not a magic bullet, but it does feel like a philosophy, like you’re buying into a mindset as much as a workout plan.

Finally, can’t finish this review without doing a big shout out for Mark and his team. No matter who I train with - I feel like I have their attention and care for the full session. They know how to motivate me, and that’s key. I have never woken up and thought ‘I don’t want to train today’. I always look forward to it. They treat all their members like athletes and I love that discipline!

If it’s not clear already, I would throughly recommend Brain and Body Method.

I can't say enough about this amazing place. The owners and staff are fantastic- knowledgeable, kind, smart, and fun to work with. The equipment is state of the art, and perfectly designed to help one discern how hard to push so that fitness is maximized without risk of injury. The space itself is a gem. The free trial has no strings attached. I would (and do) heartily recommend Brain and Body to everyone I care about.

You've got to check out this facility. Seriously, the training sessions are the most intense workouts I've ever had squeezed into just 25 minutes.

The equipment is definitely geared towards pro athletes, but is well-suited for a "corporate" athlete like myself and anyone committed to health and wellness.

Highly recommend experiencing for yourself.

I first visited Brain and Body Method in April of 2023. I was immediately struck by it's cleanliness & modern appeal. I've been working out on and off for my entire adult life & I was blown away by the state of the Art technology of the equipment. The owner Mark walked me through a workout, starting with brain/body combo exercises. The AI technology combined with advanced equipment leaves the body thinking it worked out for triple the time & triple the impact and only takes a few minutes. Brain and Body brings Olympic level training to the average Joe and Jane. I can't wait to return for my next session!

I just had the pleasure of training at Brain and Body Method in Upper Montclair. What an exceptional experience! The name says it all. They have an array of methods and equipment that until now, have been the secret weapon of elite athletes. It covers the gamut of performance: from strength, speed, reflexes, flexibility, cognitive ability, recovery from injury, altitude training, and overall fundamental health.

Both Mark, the owner, and Ardit are incredibly competent and friendly in explaining the methods and purpose of this elite training philosophy. Imagine the perfect personal trainer taking you through a workout and getting superior results in less than half the time. Their methods benefit from top notch athletes to older folks seeking to maintain or achieve optimum health and cognitive ability.

After my workout, I felt it. And at the same time, my body felt loose and relaxed, my mind alert and ready to go. Highly recommended! Thank you Mark and Ardit! Your passion, competence and care for your clients is truly outstanding.
