British Swim School Paramus is very good that's where originally my child is enrolled. But temporarily for some days due to pool being closed, we were asked to visit Englewood location. The instructors and supporting staff are very patient with the kids. Would like to mention the current instructor Eduardo who is very enthusiastic, energetic and patient. Also from the staff Dana, Chelsea and Angelica are very supportive.

We have been really fortunate to learn with Jordy as the instructor, taking swim classes on Monday and Tuesdays. He’s been an excellent teacher, helping each kid improve their skills, in a kind and encouraging way. Under him specifically, our daughter was able to really improve and master her swimming skills that had plateau-ed, and fix her problem areas. Angelica the floor assistant, is really sweet and helpful.
The instructor really makes the difference, and it’s important for any program to find and train good people, maintain standards and keep good instructors.

The instructors change almost every week, which makes it difficult for young children to build trust and feel comfortable in the water. The pool area also seems poorly maintained — I’ve noticed wet bandages and bits of toilet paper on the platform, and the water often has a strong chlorine smell. After class, my child’s eyes are usually irritated from the water. Overall, I wish the school would focus more on consistency and pool hygiene.

I give 2 stars because the staff there are very friendly.

The instructors are so great and I feel like my 3 y/o daughter was making progress in a short period of time. I wish the sessions were longer especially if there is more than one kid taking the class. The instructors do their best though. Mercedes, Tatiana, and Zaire are the instructors that really stand out to us. They are patient, soft-spoken, calming, gentle, and definitely have a way with young children.

This place is disgusting. I would never bring a child or baby into these conditions.
What a weird set my wife felt very uncomfortable bringing our 1 year old here. They have a weird changing set up in front of all the gym swimmers to see your child naked because you are not allowed in the 24 hr gym locker rooms.
They have these flimsy tents they want you to use on the slippery slippery floors.
So the classes are in the gyms pool. They try to teach in a 3 foot lane while the gym swimmers are splashing around with paddles and doing their workouts. Really distracting your kid.
The place is really dirty and unsanitary
The classes are 30 min. The kids teaching just kept asking me how much time left.
After my first class which was an intro I immediately told them. This isn’t for us. We don’t feel comfortable in this dirty weird environment and for $250 for 4 classes. It’s really not worth it. We have found way better options.

If you don’t believe me. Go ahead and give this place a try.

My 7-year-old son started at British Swim School about five months ago, and he has improved so much! It makes me so happy to see his progress. We are really happy with British Swim School at 24hr fitness in Englewood. My 4 year old recently started classes with Zahir who is a wonderful swim instructor. He’s enthusiastic and friendly. He was able to make so much progress with my 4 year old in a short amount of time and instill confidence in the water with him.

My daughter goes to the British Swim in Englewood. Shes been atrending for over 9 months and her swimming has improved tremendously. Excellent classes run by Samantha at this location. She runs a tight ship! My daughter has learned good swim technique and will no longer be a concern when she’s in a pool or beach. The instructors are solid and provide excellent lessons for the kids to get better. Definitely worth the time and cost of the lessons. Josh.

I never learned to swim as a kid, and I was always nervous about trying as an adult. But British Swim School has been amazing! The instructors are super patient and make you feel comfortable every step of the way. The small class sizes mean I get plenty of attention, and I’ve already made a lot of progress. Hi .

I want to provide some feedback about the 24Hr fitness centre in Englewood cliffs .
. The walking area surrounding the pool is so narrow, always slippery and wet due to the splashing in the pool . It is also very dirty as obviously the parents sit with their shoes on the chairs on the wet floor. It makes it very dangerous for the toddler to walk .The changing tents are also right next to the pool making it unsafe .

More so, because of the chairs , there is no room for the child to walk to the shower and back before the class starts

Totally dissatisfied with this centre .

Complete scam! I plan to report to this to the Better Business Bureau. We paid for 3 sessions ($200+) and were told make up sessions are permitted. Our child was very sick so we canceled one session. We're now being told they will not honor the make-up session unless we buy more sessions?! Very disappointing and misleading. For $200 I would have expected a lot more than two 30min sessions.

The response below from James isn't factual. We never adjusted our son's start date multiple times as stated below. Moreover, on the BSS website they never stated you need to be enrolled ongoing for a make up sessions it simply states you can make up sessions.

Instructor Jess is the best! She encouraged my son to gain confidence at the pool fast, and after a year he is swimming. We got feedback each lesson to reinforce the learning at home.

Ms. Jess is always awesome. She is a good teacher, and she is patient. She always encourages kids whenever they have hard time learning a new skill. She deserves 5 out of 5.

They only downside of this class is that their shallow teacher pool. Teachers other than Ms. Jess are still under training and they are not quite good at managing kids or teaching skills. I wish this program can train more teachers in advance so that my kids get the same quality education.

My son learned to swim at the British Swim School since he was 4 years old. He has been taking private swim classes for 3 years, with different teachers. He started out terrified, and cried often when he had to jump in the water. However, looking at him now, you would never think that. He swims like a dolphin whenever he's in the pool. There's a lot of structure and slow build up of learning to float for beginners. Its a great program for children and non swimmers. Also, all the teachers and staff have been great to work with. Highly recommend this school!!! Def sign up, especially if your child has water anxiety like my child!

I signed my niece and nephew up for lessons as a birthday gift. They love it so much! The instructor, Jessica, had them over their fear of water in a very short time, and now they run to get into the pool. Dena, the office manager made the process of signing up so easy.
