I went yesterday night, because i was looking for a gym to start training right away, and exercise i was ready to start a membership, seems a friendly gym however when I came to ask about the membership, and request information the woman at the front desk told me in a rude way she was about to close so a rather read the paper on a clip, she seems angry and upset, i didn't know asking for information was bothering her, anyway. Yesterday I went to find out about this place with the intention of signing up. Unfortunately, with the simple customer service, it didn't provoke me to stay there. I know a place where they can give customer service classes to the receptionist or not even that, kind of being a person. I would have liked to give a good comment about the machines and also the small space that it is, but I didn't manage to go beyond the entrance. El peor GYM que haya visitado, te cobran el mantenimiento anual $69 habiendo ido solo a conocer, encima tienen un sistema de estafa que te enganchan un segundo mes desde el primer día.. sin que puedas cancelarlo, osea si me inscribo hoy para tomar 1 mes de prueba sin contrato, tenias que venía ayer para cancelar sin que te cobren el segundo mes.. me explico? 30 dias antes, el 1 primer día no cuenta. Eso no te lo explican bien, y alístate para pagar el mes y el mantenimiento total me cobraron un poco mas de $170 ahh y olvidaba decirte, si te demoras un par de días en pagar el mes al que no querías renovar, alístate a pagar multas $20. un asco de lugar . No botes tu dinero en esa estafa.. mejor con esa plata te compras una bicicleta y te ejercitas al aire libre.

Other people who rate this gym highly clearly have not been to a good gym before. The place is just dirty all around, the equipment is barely cleaned, a couple of old and broken equipment can be seen. Weights are left all over the place in the 1st floor meaning finding plates tedious. Safety clips are all missing. Staff don't enforce the rules of reracking and only sit behind the stand watching

This gym has been giving me a hard time with canceling. I canceled my membership on June 30,2021 and I paid all my outstanding balances because I was moving away. I received a letter stating I owe the gym a month charge for July. I tried calling the numerous time with no response and a full mailbox so you can’t leave a voicemail. This is so unprofessional and I would NEVER get a membership here again. I have never experienced such difficulties canceling a membership.

Good gym, been coming here for almost a year. One thing I do not like is HOW LOUD they play the music on the speakers. It should be played much lower as almost all members use headphones. Unless you have good noise cancelling headphones, you’d have to play yours very loud to cancel it out, or else your music is just competing with the speakers.

This facility should be embarrassed to call itself a gym. The prices are ridiculous given the poor condition the machines are in. Not to mention that you have to wait around 30-45 mins to use most of the equipment. The place is in need of an inspection; the floors are cracked and not leveled, which is dangerous for lifting. Their $31 a month fee is a joke. Please consider all of the above before signing a contract that they will later prevent you from canceling.

Over crowded, you have to wait like 30 minutes for equipment. Over priced and doesn’t offer much compared to other gyms. Having to pay $12 to bring a guest is a ripoff. The floor is not even leveled on the basement where all the free weights are located. Some of the machines don’t work properly and are wore down. This gym doesn’t even have a place to refill your water. And all of this for $31 a month. Wouldn’t recommend this gym at all.

I’m actually really surprised this gym hasn’t received the recognition it deserves. I’ve been going here for about a year and a half since my previous gym permanently shut down due to Covid. The gym is two floors which is great because it spaces individuals out during peak times (add in the ab/stretch room and boxing area as well). I’m a morning or lunch goer and it’s great to see the same familiar faces when I’m there. They’ve added quite a bit of new equipment and extra dumbbells which is greatly appreciated (especially with dumbbells/benches being on both floors). I actually think it’s one of the better equipped gyms I’ve been a member of in terms of variety. The people who go are friendly and supportive, clean up after themselves etc. I would certainly recommend checking it out.

Made the mistake of joining a couple of months before the pandemic started. The couple of times I went half the machines were broken so if you’re gonna go make sure you have enough time to be waiting around for the machine you need (if it’s working). Staff is rude and clearly don’t care about costumers or gym’s cleanness. I also had the issue of them starting to charge me out nowhere after they re opened. No call to ask if I still was gonna come in, just stared charging and taking my money without permission. I could’ve lost my job, I could’ve been going through a hard time due to the pandemic, but clearly they see costumers as money signs. Try to cancel my contract because I’m not going back and they started making up rules saying I couldn’t cancel but I could suspend for 3 months and then they’d start charging me again. In conclusion, if you really want to go to a gym, go to a real gym. This place is not worth it.

The gym located in West New York charged me the membership after being closed for several months due to the pandemic. The gym did not send any communication about the opening and did not ask if they can charge once the gym was opened. Now they are saying that they can’t return the money because I did not call to cancel but I did call several times and they never answer. The gym gets extremely crowded. There are no water fountains. Very limited selection of weights. You might think it would be a good idea to sign up because of the modest price, but I wouldn't recommend it. They say there is no contract, but make it impossible for you to cancel your membership.

I tried canceling my membership over a year ago and every time I called I was told that the person in charge of canceling the memberships wasn't there at the moment. Whenever I called back they would tell me that he only comes in certain days at a specific time. I called my bank and placed a stop payment on them.

They continued trying to charge me, never canceling my membership and recently I received a letter saying that my account will be forwarded to collection. Let me remind you that they lied to me and said there was no contract obligation.

I’m honestly disgusted by this gym. The smell of mold in the basement is ridiculous. There holes all over the ground. God forbid a poor old lady falls and breaks her neck. The weights are displaced and very difficult to find the matching pair. The music is obnoxious and very loud. Even with my headphones blasted I can still hear the obnoxious music. The other day it was 102 degrees and they couldn’t turn on the ac.They should be ashamed to call this a gym. I can’t wait till my annual contract is over!

It’s an okay gym. It does have a strange smell at times ( apart from sweat), which is odd because the cleaning ladies do a good job. The people at the front desk you might as well have no one. They don’t do much.

There was once a 5 minute heated argument between a male and female, and the desk didn’t even know about it, only after bringing it to their attention.

Those dancing classes are the worse, ladies screaming while dancing and they don’t even close the doors. Why? Because the instructors are friends with the owners. Makes it very annoying to work out.

The good thing is the people who workout are for the most part friendly, they mind their business. It’s in West New York, so if you’re a female be ready to get looked at.

If you are choosing between Retro and this, it’s 50/50. Whatever is closet to you. This is a bigger gym however, it does get crowded so be ready.

When I first went to sign up staff was friendly. It was close to home and in a popular area with other stores near by. Signed up on a non contract. After two months I decided to spend my money elsewhere. Unless you go at particular times it is crowded and cramped. At the end of the day the gym was a mess. I always had troubles finding the dumbbells I needed or an open space for functional training. The basement floors have cracks and are uneven. They just cover it so it's not as noticeable, instead of properly fixing the flooring. It's a hazard if you step wrong. They said they had kick boxing classes but when I asked about them they said it was downstairs in 5 minutes, so I went and waited for 30 minutes but there was no class. You are also bombarded by personal trainers. Which at first wasn't a problem but turned out to be more of a scam. The trainers show great enthusiasm at first but it's more of a sale pitch than a testimate to their service. The services offered were not tailored to me or my goals. They also would frequently take calls or do other things during training sessions that I was paying for, which I found very unprofessional. When I went to quit, I ended up waiting for 30 minutes for the manager who told me I could not quit because of a contract, which was not true since I had a 'non-contract agreement'. I eventually had to go through my credit card company so they would stop charging me. After I did that I got rude messages from the trainer who even insulted my appearance. I still get calls from an automated service about billing, I have had to block them since they won't stop calling. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a gym!!

Overall ok but one major problem I have is WHEN they clean the place. Right when everyone is working out. I'm there right now and a lady is mopping the floor with something that smells very strong and makes it hard to breathe. Mmmmm, people working out just may tend to breathe a lot more and a lot deeper than when not, so maybe this can be done before/after closing?

Aaaaaaand here we are nine months later, mop bucket one foot away from me and the whole place smells of heavy Sanpic. I already moved. Common sense anyone??

Never have I disliked a gym so much but lasted so long there due to not many gym options where I live. The management doesn't have common sense. They put cleaning ladies to clean in peak hours disturbing your workout, making you get out of the way so they can clean. They will mop around your feet and then you have to wait for the floor to dry so you don't slip and fall. You can't ever find weights because most of the people that go to this gym are ignorant and leave weights thrown around the whole gym. And they don't put staff to organize weights throughout the day. You're limited to use everything they offer. You can't use a room where they give classes during non-peak hours because someone once broke a mirror by mistake and they decided to just close it off as if they have so much space to work out in. You have to give in your i.d. to be able to use light weights or bar cushions. The floor is uneven, so you have to be careful with holes in the ground that they try to cover with just a rubber mat. You complain to the management and they act like they care but in the end they don't.

Very stinky whole the dressing room there is not air vent. Disgusting and nasty. When people goes to Poop whole the dressing room gets stinky.
