Amazing gym ans great variety. I'm one of those to get a strong workout in ans not there for a talk show or make friends hour. This is the best gym around. Has every type of weight equipment you could want and is very spacious. Yiu get what you want, whether you want to work out alone or find friends to chat with. The staff is great and helpful.

I started going to crunch in Jan of 2025 and in May they closed with no notice. It could be 30 to 90 days closed... The email went out the day the planned to close. This is sad because, for the most part it's a nice gym.
Barbells could go higher than 100 pounds, should have smith machine bench presses (for those who do not have a spotter), a posing room would be nice, they could use a protein bar, supplement section and maybe bring in nutrition coaches to teach fitness nutrition (which is a standard in most gyms).
Maybe email clients with a better reopening date... Or they'll lose clients to more sophisticated, updated gyms with more services.
Not a horrible place just needs a lot of little touches refined.

Trying to cancel my crunch membership was the hardest thing i ever had to do.
I repeatedly filled out the cancellation form with no responses for weeks, so i decided to take a trip to crunch deptford! When i ask the guy at the front desk to help with cancellation he says "i can not help you" and he handed me a card absolutely no help whatsoever.
So i call the number on the card and speak to this guy who says that i can't cancel because its an annual subscription and if i wanted to cancel it would of been $113 on the spot. I said i could not pay that right now due to losing my job and relocating an hour away. I decide to keep paying the 10 dollars a month. He confirms I do not want to cancel and he moves on!
That was yesterday Fast forward to today, I get home and have 7 CHARGES FROM CRUNCH DEPTFORD! They charged me 7 months worth. So i call back the number again and try to get an explanation, they say when i filled the form out months ago it authorized a cancellation. I SAID THAT WAS MONTHS AGO and that they needed to inform me before charging my account! They cancel my subscription and i confirm it's canceled and i wont be charged again? THEY SAY YES AND THEN I WAS CHARGED TWICE MORE. DEPTFORD CRUNCH HAS THE WORST COMMMUNICATION! And they did not help me at all now i am 113 dollars out because they decided to cancel months after i first sent the form and without my consent thanks a lot crunch!

Nautilus equipment, free weights go up to 125lb and a large HITT section. WiFi now available. Sauna has been removed. Has a beverage center. Finally got 1 curling bar. MAG fitness attachments are the best. Horrible plate management. Spend more time moving and finding plates then excercising. Lot of broken treadmills

I have been going to this gym since they opened a few years back. I love the people that attend, and the staff. I do have to point out Kenzi at the front desk in particular who is absolutely AMAZING. every time I see her she's smiling, greets every guest with a great attitude, and is always helping out on the gym floor as well. with her attitude im sure there are new comers to the gym and are eager to come back because they feel so welcomed! great job Kenzi!!!

If you join this gym, be prepared to retain your membership for life. 90 days ago, I requested my membership to Crunch Deptford be cancelled. The management at this gym has repeatedly ignored my request. I mailed a certified, return receipt requested letter in December 2024, which they signed for I might add and my membership is still active. Everything is great until you decide you no longer want to be a dues paying member then they ignore you. They blatantly ignored the term of the agreement and ignore any cancellation requests as well. You have been warned. No matter what you do they will not allow you to cancel. It's a shame too because prior to joining Crunch Deptford, I never had an issue with any other Crunch gym. I was able to cancel without any issue. This tells me all I need to know about Crunch Deptford's management. They are inept in running and managing a commercial gym if they are unable to fulfill gym cancellations. They have created a headache for me that seems never-ending. It simply doesn't take 90 days to cancel a membership, so that clearly tells me that they are intentionally ignoring my request. If you want to be apart of a poorly run and managed gym please do so, but heed my warning: they will refuse to cancel your membership. This location is a stain on the Crunch Fitness franchise.

Beware of price. You will get hit with an annual fee even if their website says no annual fee. Also you cannot cancel within 90 days other wise you have to pay for the additional time. So if you cancel after 30 days you still have to pay the next two months but can’t use your membership due to canceling. Customer service sucks not in the gym itself the cancelation department. Also they don’t have enough machines it gets very congested. Most gyms I have gone to have atleast 2 of everything. They have plenty of treadmills but lifting forget it. I’d give this gym zero stars if I could. The team in house is very nice and always greet you at the door that’s about the only positive I have. Also want to add that this right here is false advertisement it says no commitment. Your on a month to month but yet lock you in for 90 days what a scam. Everyone wins for false advertisement these days. Added another photo straight from crunches website saying you can cancel anytime so again gals advertisement

I wish I could write this place a great review, but I can't anymore. When I first signed up back in 2021, this gym was great! Awesome vibes, clean and up-to-date equipment, friendly staff, etc. I previously cancelled my membership back in JULY to find out I still have to pay an annual fee now in February???? Why should I pay for the maintenance and upkeep of the gym when I haven't had access to it in over 6 months? If my $63 would actually go towards the equipment, I could get behind this, but the reason I cancelled was because the bars to load weight have RUST on them, the cables are NEVER greased and don't work properly, seat cushions are ripped and uncomfortable, and half of the equipment is broken!! What is my annual fee going towards then? Lastly, I want to mention that one of the trainers had an older woman performing RDLs with 30lb dumbbells and a completely rounded out back, so she will likely have back issues later on down the line if she continues to work with him. The posing room mirrors were also dirty for over a year!

I've been attempting to be more consistent with my routine lately. Megan at the front desk was friendly and genuinely interested in making sure I had information about events and classes in the gym. I stopped working out for a year because I went back to school and had no time between that and work. Since finishing I upgraded my plan to be able to participate in the classes. Paola, Mike L, and Andrea W have made coming back to the gym so much fun and well worth it!! I highly recommend doing the classes they instruct!

I was the only one in TRx with Mike, as it was new years day. He did the class with me and the level of motivation he gave me was top tier!

Zumba with Paola is always so much fun! So high energy and she includes everyone in all of the routines!

Andrea's guidance and reassurance through our HIIT was great! Also high every and alot of fun! Not to mention her great selection of music to get you moving!

Update: Just learned I was being charged a monthly fee still after cancelling my membership not more than a week after I made this review. So not only did you go behind my back and continue to charge me, you LIED TO MY FACE that my membership was cancelled.

Don’t sign up. They make it impossible to cancel! I’ve requested the cancellation of services on multiple occasions. Crunch has acknowledged my request for cancellation and continues to charge me.

Peak hours are busy, really busy. Depending on who's working, the staff interaction varies. There's times I've come in and no one is at the front desk, but I'd say 95% of the time I'm greeted when coming in, and acknowledged when I leave. There's a decent amount of varying classes. 4 stars only because when it's busy, you have to wait for a machine to work out on. Otherwise, it's a great gym, $10 a month for a basic membership. Please enforce the no bags rule tho!

Deptford Crunch is my favorite! As soon as I walk in I am always greeted, and Izzy specifically has been so friendly. I was feeling overwhelmed by all the different machines and benches, but then she told me her personal favorite exercises for the different muscles that I told her I wanted to work on. My experience with Crunch fitness (Deptford) has been superb so far. I used to go to Edge and Urge, but wasn’t happy with their customer service. As an active duty military member, it is nice that Crunch provides a flexible plan that allows me to use their gyms wherever I am able to find a Crunch. The only thing I do wish they had was 24-hour access via a code, that would really be solid for those of us who work late. Outside of that, the facilities are clean, the staff is knowledgeable, and the amenities are plenty.

This place out right scammed me. I went in to cancel my membership. The person at the counter grabbed a manager. The manager did something on the computer and told I was good to go…I didn’t receive a confirmation email…that should have been a red flag for me. I then kept getting charged two months after I supposedly cancelled. I called them to let them know and the employee told me that something went wrong in the system and reinstated my membership and told me to come back in to talk to the manager. I called back to make sure the manager was there before I went in. I explained to the employee why I was coming in and she told me they can’t cancelled memberships in person and that I have to call a number. But I explained I already cancelled and she said that was impossible because they haven’t done that in a while. So the guy lied straight to my face when I initially went in and pretended he cancel my membership. I then had to call the number, and the guy on the phone said in order to cancel I had to pay yet another month and the annual fee on top of that. Jill (the GM) is incredibly helpful and is quick to try and resolve issues. Staff is super friendly (including the trainers) and the facility is well maintained. Love the monthly events and social media interaction as well.

I’ve been trying to cancel my membership, what feels like forever I was told that I would only be billed for an extra month and then I’m still being billed til this day I was told to call their billing line to cancel and they told me to call the gym to cancel and then billing basically said I was under a year contract but the gym said otherwise which makes zero sense at this point, if I made a way to be banned from the gym I bet it’d be easy to pull my membership then, they don’t ever seem to care unless they’re missing money which is selfish.

This gym is clean, has plenty of brand new equipment, a very relaxed atmosphere, and generally isn't crowded, I couldn't ask for anything more besides a sauna.

This gym has more variety of equipment than most. You never have to wait for a cardio machine unlike other gyms. The staff are great and always speak to you when you walk in. My PT (Kate) is the best! She works with you at your own pace and doesn’t rush you thru your sessions. And always comes up with new ways to torture me but it’s always done with a smile lol

I stopped at this Crunch while I was traveling and let me tell you. This place is so nice! It was clean, the people were super friendly, and the staff were lifesavers!!!

Upon walking in immediately it passed the eye and vibe check. It smelled fresh and sanitized and the music was a good clean mix.

The people were so cool!! Coming from the south, northerners in general can get a bad wrap. My visit was quite the opposite. People were nice, hospitable, and so fun. It was also fun seeing a group class while I was checking out the facility. People were just in there having a blast. It was just really cool to see.

Finally, the staff. I was greeted by this little ball of energy Jill. She immediately made me feel comfortable and helped me navigate my way through the gym. I found out later she was the manager. Super cool and helpful. The next two staff members, Kate and Matt, are both trainers at this location and if I didn’t live a thousand miles away I’d be there every day working with them. Kate was the MVP and really made an awesome workout for me. She made it fun and challenging but more importantly she supported me the entire session. You need that hype person sometimes and she was definitely it. Matt came in clutch and helped with some limitations I had since he has a background in physical therapy it was super helpful.

If I could give this location 10 stars I would and I highly recommend it to anyone in that area or traveling to the area. Thank you all again for everything!! You made my trip to NJ so much better!!!

Started here recently and so far it’s been a great experience. Kate is my personal trainer and has been very helpful and understanding about my goals to get stronger after medical problems. I hadn’t been to a gym for years, she has helped me feel comfortable and ready to get to it!

The staff is solid, the place is clean overall, and they have plenty of equipment. Most of the fellow 5AM lifters are chill, and there’s plenty of space to do what I want to do. I’ve been going here on and off since I travel for a living for almost two years. The problem has always been the same, and it’s worth a full star off: the classes.

The insanely loud music that pierces through my noise canceling headphones. The equally annoying microphone. The fact that they take up the entire turf/landmine/punching bags area, then the class stares when I just want to punch the bag for MY cardio while they stretch. Thursdays are the worst for this, it’s why I’m not there right now even though it’s 6AM. I’m waiting until 7 so I can avoid the class entirely! They fix that somehow, and this is an amazing gym.

I am extremely upset and annoyed with how rude, unhelpful and uncaring the manager Jill is. I called crunch a million times in the past two months as I tried to cancel my membership and someone kept “forgetting” to put the cancellation request through even though I followed all the directions the representative gave me to request a cancellation of the membership. It has been over 2 months since I asked to cancel it and every time I call I’m told I’ll get a refund for the past two months and a manager will call me back to confirm this and I never get a call back. Today I finally got a call back from the manager and she could care less and I explained to her what had happened and she said she can’t give me a refund and there’s nothing she can do. I explained to her that I called a million times, that no one is getting back to me, and that I’ve requested a refund ton of times and asked to cancel over 2 months ago. She had nothing to say other than she can’t help. She also said she’ll email me after our conversation and AGAIN no response! Extremely upset with this response and how they handle their customers.

I’m so glad I switched gyms. I've been debating on switching gyms for a while because crunch is a dump. This place is so dirty because their staff never cleans! The bathrooms are filthy, there's never any paper towels to clean their equipment, the ceiling leaks when it rains (which is hazardous) and I can't tell you how many times the water fountain has been broken. You're better off going to Planet Fitness. At least that gym is always clean.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS GYM! I wish I could give this place a lower score. This gym is so poorly run by the “manager” Jill (skinny caucasian woman with long red or blond hair) I’m shocked she is still in charge! It’s bad enough their equipment isn't up to par like most gyms but the STAFF is the worse part. They're rude, unhelpful and most of them don't look like they should be given any health advice. Anthony B (the tall african trainer) with a hideous man bun is the worst of them all! I signed up for one class and he ignored my health concerns and what I was trying to tell him what I can and can't do. The other trainer ( caucasian man) with a lot of tattoos and always wears a backwards cap is a close 2nd. Both a terrible at their job. For just 5 more dollars you can go to Edge Fitness down the street where they have saunas, juice bar, movie room, space, better equipment, and better staff!

Excellent experience: clean, well-maintained, courteous. Busy but not overly crowded. Classes are good, from what I hear (but be careful with regard to personal trainers, as the contract terms are not transparent up front, and once you sign, the gym will hold you to terms you may not know you agreed to).

Would literally give this place 0 stars if I could. Staff is unhelpful, equipment is mid, bathroom is always dirty.

I went in about 3 weeks ago to cancel because I never have time to go and haven’t been in months. Associate says only his manager can cancel memberships (which is false). He says manager will call me tomorrow for confirmation.

I never received a phone call. They did not bother to cancel for me and my monthly charge went through the other day.

I go in again, tell the associate the situation and he then cancels my membership. However, he said there is no way I can get a refund for this new month I just paid for. I asked him to have the manager when he or she comes back in to call me. Again… never received a call.

This place is so poorly run it’s a joke. Stay away and pay a bit more for Edge.

STAY AWAY FROM SIGNING UP WITH ANY OF THEIR PERSONAL TRAINING CLASSES.

We are changing the 5 stars review to 1 star.

It started when we used the one free session of personal training class. Matt motivated us to take the personal training classes and we told him that we are not going to be able to take any PI classes until September 2023. He told us that is not a problem and we have 30 days to cancel if we change our mind, which makes sense. He did not tell us the credit card will charge us on that same day (August 7, 2023). This is not right.. why would the monthly payment started to charge our credit card in August 2023 after we specifically told him we can’t do PI training until September 2023.

Make the story short:
A few days went by and we decided to push back our PI training until January 2024 as we have other obligations this year. So we went to Crunch and told them that we want to cancel our September PI classes and will sign up for January 2024 PI training instead. Kash, the PI manager told us that we can’t cancel the agreement. According to him, Matt has misinformed us about 30 days cancelation policy, it is actually 30 days AFTER 3 months Agreement is OVER, so we stuck in paying 3 months of PI training that we can’t even use. Matt didn’t show us any paperwork that we could read when they asked us to sign on their signature pad.

NEVER EVER SIGN ANYTHING ON THE SAME DAY WITH CRUNCH especially with the Personal Training sessions related.

Make sure you ask them to give you a copy of the agreement so you can read it at home BEFORE you sign anything, no matter how nice or sweet the personal trainer talk to you.

This a shady way to run a business and we are very disappointed with the way Crunch handle our issue. We thought Crunch is different than other gyms and we had recommended so many people to go there. JUST BE CAREFUL and we hope no one will repeat our bad experience. Crunch have left a bitter taste in our mouth.

I went into Crunch Fitness in Deptford to cancel as I was told on the phone I have to do. The manager, Jill, wasn’t in. Allegedly she is the only one who can cancel memberships. I left my name and number. She never called. I was charged the monthly membership fee. I called. I was told I have to come in to cancel. I explained I already did. They took my name and number. No return call. I was charged the monthly membership fee. Again. I was also charged the annual membership fee. I went in. Again, Jill was not working. I explained I’ve already been in once and called twice. They took my name and number. I’ve called twice today. Jill has been in neither time and no one else cancel my membership for me. Now I am out $117.26.
The employees working have been very helpful. Their doing their job. Jill, obviously, has not.
