Won’t be coming back again. The gym is very crammed with lots of equipment. Most of the equipment seems to be unmaintained and shudders while using or squeaks incredibly loud while using. I tried using a glute cable machine and after walking around for a few minutes trying to find the ankle strap and asking a trainer, I ended up having to go to the front desk and have them take it out of a drawer. Was a waste of time. Tried also doing hip raises with a barbell but there wasn’t adequate space with all the benches and no where to put them. I did use the smith machine with no issues. Trainers seemed nice.

I have recently joined Crunch and am very impressed! Being a member of many gyms and fitness facilities in past, Crunch is one of the best! The equipment is always clean and well updated , the bathrooms are very clean as well, and the staff is extremely friendly! When I Joined Ben was awesome! He was very knowledgeable of your facility and equipment. He thoroughly explained in complete detail the amenities. He also explained the deal that I can bring my girlfriend with me EVERYTIME!! I have been a member of Crunch in Stanhope for the past year. I mostly attended the classes for seniors and was incredibly impressed with the instructor Julia. She tailored the instruction to the needs of her class and had the most positive and encouraging demeanor. She gave me the confidence to even try Zumba. Today, I was sadly informed that the manager at Crunch fired her. We seniors absolutely loved her and are so very disappointed by this unfair and mean spirited action. Please bring Julia back! Although, with the way Crunch treated her, she probably wouldn't want to.

I’ve been a member on and off since they opened, just cancelled through a pregnancy and again through Covid. Since I’ve been back, it’s been horrible. The manager is rude and nasty and doesn’t care about the customers. They keep cancelling packed classes and firing great instructors, If they don’t quit first. My family owns a business and this is NOT the way to get and keep clients. We were promised on Saturday there would be a teacher for Zumba on Monday and I woke up this morning to the class being cancelled. They don’t put any classes in its place. They don’t care about the classes, just their personal training offerings. I’ve received 4746438 calls about that but none addressing my complaints. Corporate is non existent to complain to about this manager, so there’s no one even above her keeping her in check. If things don’t change quickly, my mom and I will find another gym to go to and bring all our class-mates with us!

While I always had a great experience working put here, the one star is because I have been trying to cancel my membership for months and I've gone in there 3 times attempting to do so, and there is never a manager there whose able to do so. If you aren't going to have a manager there everyday you should really promote one of your employees to be able to cover for manager duties. I'm extremely disappointed on how this whole situation has been treated . 6 MO ths trying to cancel and 3 tries going in person has yielded no results. Absolutely horrendous.

The manager "Laura" is so rude and unprofessional.

She came to me several times while I was working out trying to discuss payment issues. I have updated my new bank info on the website and showed her a confirmation on my phone. She said, "You either take care of it after your workout or you get charged for the day," Then, after my workout, she said, "You either fix it or I wouldn't let you in next time", not offering help, being rude, and not apologizing when called that out.

I have been a member for 2 years and used to be nice and supportive by giving shoutouts to Crunch pages on my 200k IG and 500k+ Youtube for free. I'M SO DISAPPOINTED

This location provides a horrible experience from start to finish. I had set up a family plan when the gym originally opened in our neighborhood before they even opened. I personally went in to cancel all memberships that were paid on my credit card many years ago. I recently noticed they were still billing my credit card 5 years later for my youngest daughters account which all along I thought was cancelled. They have collected the money on my card even though I cancelled the membership when my daughter was a minor. I simply wanted to cancel the membership as we no longer would workout here for other reasons as well, such as staff turnover, machine repairs and cleanliness as a real issue back then. I co signed at the time for the membership as a parent for all of my kids. Which the other two were cancelled at the time as they should have been but someone there dropped the ball and never cancelled the membership for my youngest. ok mistakes happen. But yet I cannot cancel the account as a parent for what was originally co signed by me when she was a minor and they kept billing me. How corrupt. I then wanted to cancel the account for the second time now that she is an adult and i found these charges on my card. They claim she must come in person or send certified mail. They entered in an agreement with a minor and expect the person to jump through hoops to cancel when she is away at College. IT was ok for me to provide payment and co sign but not to cancel since i am the one paying. Even though I cancelled all other accounts in the past for all other 4 people in the household as to when this was suppose to happen the first time. They have without my consent after cancelling the first time billed my card since 2018. Be careful of sending your high school students here for memberships as they seem to prey on minors signing contracts excepting payment from the adults but don't allow the adult actually paying to cancel the membership. Just be careful, they will steal your money for 5 years then claim i cant cancel for her, even though they entered into an agreement with a minor. There are much better gyms in the area i suggest any of those over this experience. my mistake i did not notice this sooner on my bill. I was not even looking for credits, i just wanted to close out and stop the charges.

I've been to quite a few Crunch Gyms in the North Jersey, and upstate NY areas. The stanhope site is very unique. I prefer using machines then free weights. This site has the Hoist Roc it line in addition to more Star Trac line of equipment that other Crunch sites don't carry. Majority of the Crunch sites have the Hoist line and Star Trac leverage plate-loaded stations. This site has those plus another line of Star Trac line of equipment. However, its a smaller Crunch Gym, so no jungle gym set like the other bigger sites. I don't use the jungle gym, so I don't care. Most of my training are machines and push-sled on the turf. Another aspect to this site that sets it apart is, there is soap in the showers! Parsippany and Middletown NY Crunch sites do not have soap in the showers. So, plus on the Stanhope site for including soap. Overall, this site has a sweet set up. One of my favorite equipment brands is Star Trac and this site has it all. I'm definitely coming back to this site again! 👍💪

Staff very friendly. Since joining Nov 2021, I've had good experiences working out. A bit tight on space, especially in free weight area but most members are considerate / recognize waiting for people to finish their set before starting theirs so there are no issues/ interference. Great mix of ages too! Oh and parking lot just resurfaced with plenty of parking. Recommend Crunch in Stanhope, NJ and Lutz, Florida.

I’m not one for reviews nor am I the class taking type. But when I tried the Cardio Tai Box, Ride, and HIIT classes with your PT Rashaun, I must say I got hooked from day one. There was a time when I considered going to another gym because the cardio tai box and ride classes were moved from what worked for me. Then somehow, they were brought back and here I am. I’ve tried many PT’s in the facility and I must say, Rashaun is simply incredible, and an asset to any team. Crunch is lucky to have him. The facility is a tad small (which I prefer) and maintained well. It’s clean and everyone is always very pleasant. I haven’t had an issue with any manager or PT to date. I would recommend Crunch in Stanhope to anyone.

Just moved to the area and was happy to know there was a Crunch nearby. But after 2 weeks of going here it’s so disappointing that it’s sub par compared to my home club. The equipment are rusted and squeaky and heavily need WD-40. The members are inconsiderate and use multiple machines at once and do NOT wipe them down afterwards. My home club heavily enforced cleanliness and even had staff members disinfect all the areas hourly. I want to give this club a chance but compared to other Crunches it is really disappointing. 2/5 stars

I live up the road. I’ve seen gyms across the country. I didn’t bother coming here for 2 years thinking it’s too small and/or expensive. Or they lock you into a contract like repaying the IRS. Went for a free trial as I’ve been checking out gyms in the area to see which is best for me, the man who gave me a tour had absolutely no clue! I asked him to direct me to the smith machine, he pointed to Elipticals?? When I told him that’s not a smith machine, he said “I don’t know what that is, so we don’t have it here.” After looking around myself, I located it! Then, at 1pm, I was told they are closing for an hour until 2pm, very weird, I’ve been to many gyms and never have any of them closed for an hour in the middle of the afternoon. What if that’s the only chunk of time someone has to work out? Super weird. Glad I did the free trial before getting locked into a membership here.

1. It's well maintained. Some cardio equipment heart rate monitors don't work. This is no different than any other gym.
2. Plenty of Cardio equipment available. However at peak times it does get pretty crowded.
3. Don't interact much with the staff, but they do always greet you when you check in. Our trainer Elise Brown is awesome.
4. My biggest complaint is that the music is generally WAY too loud...this coming from a guitar player in a rock band so I am used to loud music. The music that is played is not music that invigorates you in terms of "pumping you up". It's like something you would listen to in a club dancing with your date.
5. On top of overly loud music, trainers often use a boom box in a common area for circuit training classes and turn that up as load as possible, so you have that and the loud piped in music. When this happens, I can't turn my earbuds up loud enough to drown out the music. It motivates me to want to get out of there rather than stay.

nick was less then professinal by far at the front desk...im new to town, my roomate asked me to come to the gym and check it out... he had said that because I was 5 minutes behind and we did not walk in together that I could not be therr as a guest and wanted to charge me 15 bucks to come workout for 45 minutes.... what Nick doesn't know is that I have a membership at LA Fitness and was thinking about moving over to crunch because it's about 4 minutes closer to my house. I think I'll just keep my membership over at LA Fitness and enjoy the sauna and hospitality... the reality was there is no reason to be so rude and belittling to my roommate. He made it very awkward and uncomfortable we couldn't tell if he was joking, he had a wig on and a fake beard and was looking at the ground saying no he can't come in you know the deal you sign the paper you guys got to come in together when obviously my roommate had no clue that was a standard rule. He invited me knowing I was on my way over to LA Fitness to come and try his gym out I went out of my way to get there. I wish I could put into words how awkward it really was. We asked for the manager and Nick said he was the manager.. I would give it a one-star for the experience but I know it's a decent gym and I don't want to scoop to Nicks level

Bunch of crooks. Do not even think about opening a membership here. I cancelled my membership over a year ago and they’re still trying to charge me and messed up my credit. Rot in hell crunch fitness

I went to cancel my membership before my next payment and of course they get another month payment in there 🙄

been going too crunch for a few years - never had a problem with staff everyone nice - it’s fantasic that they finally have a Pad holder named Gil- real stand up guy - easy going place
