I strongly advise anyone to be extremely careful with this gym.

I spent over a year trying to resolve a simple refund issue, and the manager, Priscilla, has been consistently unprofessional and unwilling to cooperate. Every attempt to discuss a refund was pushed off, delayed, or redirected. Instead of returning the money, they kept freezing the account, continuing to charge during the freeze, and then converting those charges into class credits.

Recently, after a year of back-and-forth, they suddenly demanded $450 plus tax from me — despite the fact that I was trying to stop charges, not add new ones.
This business makes it extremely difficult to get your money back once you’ve paid. They will stretch things out, convert payments into credits, and extend expiration dates just to avoid issuing a refund.

At this point, I am preparing to file a case in small claims court because the situation has gone far beyond normal customer service issues.

Please be cautious before signing anything here. Once they have your money, getting it back becomes nearly impossible.

Joined recently for boxing and strength conditioning. The community and instructors are super welcoming to beginners and people just getting started. I have minimal boxing experience from before, but all levels (including beginners) feel welcome here. Really glad I joined and have ramped up to 5 days a week. Looking forward to trying out boxing sparring at some point in the future. Marcel, Richie and Johns classes are the best at 6am!

This is a fantastic gym with a welcoming, open-minded culture. I've primarily trained under Chris Martinez in Muay Thai, and his coaching is excellent—rigorous and well-structured. The community is friendly, always willing to help, and the evening conditioning classes are outstanding for building endurance. Overall, it's a great place to deepen your martial arts knowledge.

This place is very encouraging for all levels of fitness/boxing/MMA. You can walk in to your first class and be accepted without pressures to prove anything. Id give 5 out of 5 but the lack of water (for free) really irks me at a gym. (80) Total classes of boxing/kickboxing as of writing this. The gym could also give out t-shirts or sweat towels to members when they sign up to promote and encourage.

The best gym ever. I joined it when I got back from London was depressed 😔 and started boxing then kickboxing then their high intensity HITT and boxing sparring, Muay Thai. Great coaches, coach Martinez, Coach Chris for boxing sparring then coach Dan HITT, coach Richie. I became so toned and fit and found a great community there with bunch of healthy and fitness freaks, made friends it was my second home. Moved to Florida and still not able to find this kind of gym not even close. Looking forward to come back for few days just to do the Classes. You might consider opening a branch in Miami lol 😂

Wrestled D1 in college a decade ago. I stayed super active running/gym 5 days a week last 10 yrs but missed training and always wanted to learn how to strike & kick. Joined about 2 months and come 4-5 classes a week. Highly recommend it as all the coaches are great. Highly highly recommend Chris Hernandez Kick boxing conditioning & muay thai classes (though all instructors are great). I had zero expense prior to joining (for reference). He truly cares about his students. Only writing this review as I was on the fence for years about joining an mma style gym and regret not doing it sooner. Hopefully this review will help some of you pull the trigger. Just do it. I feel younger than i've felt in the last 10 yrs. More energy, mentally, and def flexibility. Ton of classes.

Note that I was no told to write a review nor do I know the owner. I'm writing this to hopefully get some people that really wanted to join a gym like this and have always been on the fence.

Took my first class here and had an absolute blast. Jaclyn at the front desk was super helpful getting me signed in and showing me around. Really cool set up. Awesome music. Instructors are legit. If you’re looking for a great workout and a group/community vibe during the class this place is the vibe.

Great Place to train. The head instructor Dan Covel is a multi time world Champion and a world class teacher. The environment is welcoming, the facility is clean and safe, and the the people were all very nice. The room was filled with people at all levels from brand new white belts to high level black belts. You could have a great experience if it was your first time in the mat or if your a seasoned competitor. I highly recommend trying a Jiu Jitsu class at Hoboken Jiu Jitsu.

Great gym! They have everything it takes to be successful in the sport. #1 you need great training partners and this gym has plenty. Not only are the guys that train here good people that you'd want to hang out with outside of the gym they are animals on the mat. They're not out to kill you during practice but they are always ready to battle during the live goes and you have to earn everything. #2 The instructors are top notch and don't waste your time. I've been to other gyms where there is no consistency, every day here seems to build on the day before and they don't show you something once and then hope that you got it. Many moves are drilled on a daily basis to help you become proficient enough to actually hit them in real life situations. Too many gyms I've been to are all over the place in terms of what they show, and you get exposed to a lot but get good at very little. #3 I love how the classes here are one hour, sure longer classes sound good at other gyms but if you're an adult with a home life and a job this is the perfect situation. They don't waste any time and you can get more from an hour here than an hour and a half at most other gyms.

Started here about 2 months ago and I can say it's been one of the greatest decisions of my life. Whether you have never been on the mat before or you have been practicing the art for years, this place has everything you need. Unlike many other academy's and schools, Hoboken Jiu jitsu is absolutely beginner friendly and the family environment is really what did it for me. The instructors and coaching staff are world class and as a whole hold multiple world titles, gold medals and years of experience and knowledge which they are willing to pass on to their students. If your looking to get into Jiu Jitsu for the first time or looking to continue your growth in the sport, this is the place to do it.

Hoboken Jiu Jitsu is the best school in the area not only to learn the basics of BJJ but also to get an intense training session. The coaches are consistently thorough with their teaching delivery and are dedicated to the progress of every one of their students. Definitely have to check it out whether your looking to learn the sport or train for fun with an awesome group of people.

I've been a member of Hoboken Jiu Jiitsu for almost two and a half years and highly recommend checking it out. Whether you don't have any experience in bjj, wrestling, etc. or if you're an advanced belt, the sessions are diverse enough for you to be challenged at the right level. Each of the trainers- Dan, Rich, Chris and Zack provide great guidance in order for you to continuously improve. Its a very open and friendly environment with everyone training during a session where everyone helps each other out. Quick warning, its addicting!
