Eleven years ago around the time I first heard the name Gary Vesper, “Driven” was just a duffel bag full of resistance bands, carried by one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. As a high school athlete, Gary prepared me to be quicker and stronger than I had ever thought possible on the field. He not only built up my speed and strength, but my confidence, as I saw my skills skyrocket around my sophomore year of high school. Gary also used his experience to safely get me back into baseball after a non-athletic related knee procedure, all but guaranteeing that I would come back stronger than ever.
Fast forward to the present, I am a frequent attendee at Driven’s afternoon sessions, coming in after work to decompress after a long day, and getting strong while doing it. I consider both Gary and Brandon (a former Driven athlete-turned-trainer) good friends of mine, as they have created an incredible environment and a wonderful community of people seeking out various fitness goals. Whether you are seeking to regain strength after rehabbing an injury, trying to bench 1,000 pounds, or just trying to promote your own general wellness, Driven is the place for you.

Driven is no ordinary gym. The coaches here are extremely knowledgeable, helpful and encouraging. They listen to your concerns and work with you to determine the best exercises for you (which can change from time to time), so that you can achieve strength gains you may not have thought possible. Another positive is that weights and reps are tracked to eliminate the guesswork from your routine, optimize your time, etc. I can’t see myself working out anywhere else.

Gary saw something I didn’t. He saw me show up every day but knew I needed something more. I decided to trust him and the process. We sat down every Friday figuring out what I could do outside of the gym to move that needle. I am so grateful because I learned how to fuel my body to be able to be able to get stronger in the gym. I had to learn to block out all the noise on everything weight loss and focus on showing up consistently for myself. Gary is a professional with an abundance of experience. Everyone out there says to care and know about gym and proper way to do your exercises. But Gary truly knows and take his time walking you through the process. Put your trust in him and you will get the results.

Gary’s programs are excellent at safely building muscle - he focuses on form to make sure you are doing things properly - I really enjoyed the format of his 4 weeks sessions as you can really see vast improvements from the beginning to the end of each session. I came to Driven after having torn my ACL - he started me off at the basics with just body weight and we built from there. Even without having had surgery to repair my ACL - it had much greater stability from the getting a true full body workout. I even encouraged my daughter and husband to try the workouts !! The gym has lots of great “toys” too such as kettlebells, battle ropes, sleds & more.
I loved my time at Driven - was a member for about 2 years. The only reason I left was because I moved out of state.

My son Zach has enjoyed the experience at Driven and never complains to go. As a 6th grader, he understands the value of being a bigger, faster, and stronger athlete. My daughter is a competitive softball player but seems to be prone to getting injured. That’s when we found Driven. I wanted somewhere that would train her and protect her so that she can play the sport she loves as long as possible. Since she started she has suffered and unfortunate major concussion that wasn’t preventable (freak thing). She was out for over three months but as soon as she was cleared to return she was hitting and setting new personal records within 2 weeks! Driven is making her stronger but most importantly I think it’s keeping her safe. If you want to learn how to get stronger and faster with perfect form- Driven is the place to be!

I was a proud member of Driven for 5+ years, and during that time, I had never felt better about myself both physically and mentally. When I came to Driven 2 years ago I was looking to get stronger, build muscle and have someone to hold me accountable. I am a 50 y/o male. The post Covid haze is real and has affected a lot of people. As we get older we are less inclined to try new things. Driven has helped me get out of my comfort zone. I am so far into the program that not only am I still lifting and getting stronger but also sprinting, and testing my vertical jump at every session. Gary and Brandon do a great job acclimating you to your potential so you can achieve your goals. What I have learned the most is consistency above all else is the key to success. If I can't 3 to 4 hours a week towards fitness then what are we doing. Not only is it a great place to workout and challenge yourself but Driven is a community. We work hard and also have fun while doing it.
Most of all Gary graciously volunteered his time to help me coach the 13-15 Girls sprint track program at Randolph. He helped me design a speed program that helped my girls have a great track season. Much appreciated.

I was looking for a place for both my sons to train at that would not only develop them physically, but instill in them qualities of hard work and the commitment to success. Gary and the staff at Driven is that place! Athletically, the development is apparent (stronger, faster, and increased agility). But, what I like most is that the staff prepares a plan, teaches it, and then gives it to the student-athlete to work it, which I feel develops a personal responsibility and accountability for “gains” that creates one’s own confidence.

Both my kids have been going to Driven the last couple of years between their multiple sports seasons and each time they start up again, I quickly see a difference in their explosiveness and agility. I even quickly notice differences in their physical appearance. My son is a younger athlete, and I start seeing some monkey muscles (what I call them) showing up. My daughter is a little older athlete and already has a muscular physique and she just starts looking jacked. I have watched a few sessions this past year and it really blows me away on what he is able to get them to do. It goes above my expectations of their capabilities at their ages. I really think it is and will make a difference in their athletic performance on the field and court. But even though it aint easy and it should not be, they enjoy going. My time at driven was incredible. It is a built from the ground up company in which only has a main focus on strengthening and improving young athletes in their goals for their respective sport. Gary Vesper is a guy that is simply driven, putting all of his athletes on a program that’ll do nothing except improve them. I started at Driven my freshman year of high school, and I had immediately felt welcomed into the family of athletes that this place is. Driven is an injury recovery masterpiece. In 2021 I can into driven with two shoulder injuries, a knee injury, an ankle injury, and a back injury. I started training for a marathon and he helped me heal all these injuries and prepare me physically and mentally for the marathon. His work is exceptional and he is an expert.

While the world has become monopolized mega corps, Driven Fitness stands alone in personalized training. While my brain tells me I can still do moves like I am 22 years old, Gary helped me get and stay strong and mobile using modifications. He is a wealth of fitness and nutrition information. I was an athlete attending driven my senior year of high school going into my freshman year at Columbia University for football training. I will start off by saying I should have gone to driven sooner. I went to driven because of a persistent chronic Patellar tendonosis I sustained during my junior year of football. After countless physical therapy appointments, I decided to call up Gary in order to get my twitch and explosion back. Gary was not only able to solve my knee pain with my instabilities, but also improved my overall functional movement as an athlete. He caters to all sports and their specific lateral and vertical movements all while increasing strength at areas I didnt even know I lacked. His classes conditioned me for the upcoming college football season and I saw and felt a significant vast improvement in my game, noticing slightly to little knee pain while successfully producing the same movements on the field as I did in the classes. I never thought I would be doing some of the movements in his class as I did being 260 pounds at the time. I attributed my lower body explosiveness to Gary's vast knowledge of exercises and plyometrics. His energy during the classes are always unmatched and will get you in the right mindset. I highly recommend going to driven if you are looking to be an explosive athlete and developing the basics of functional lifting. He also stresses form over weight which is rare now a days. His unique class structure will help transform you as an athlete regardless of the sport!!

Driven has given me the confidence I need both on and off the field. Gary takes time to create INDIVIDUALIZED programs for his athletes, and the results show. He trains athletes on HOW TO BE ATHLETES. Along with the specialized weight and resistance training, Gary also trains athletes on how to be explosive and control their bodies through fun and creative plyometric drills and sprints. He gives athletes the attention they need and makes sure to teach and enforce good form.

I began at Driven when I was in 8th grade. Gary has helped me to become strong, faster and more explosive. He helped me to elevate all my skills and gain speed pitching. Working out at driven helped me to be able to get where I needed to be to become the D1 athlete I am now at UAlbany. During the offseason driven was my second my home as I spent most of the week there training to get stronger and faster. Without Driven I would not be the player and athlete that I am today.

I am an athlete and my goals here at different times were injury recovery or to gain muscle or gain speed. I have achieved all of this with Driven. When really committing to your goals here the improvement will be very fast.
Driven is also an enjoyable place to workout. I would look forward to the other athletes that would train with me and couldn’t wait to improve along side with them.
Driven has specific workouts for my goals and guided me on how to execute every exercise until eventually I could do it on my own . If I ever had any questions while lifting I would have Gary or Brandon (the two trainers as of 09/1/24) available to help
Lastly. Driven is very flexible with time. If there is a certain time I should have showed up to run or when the opens. There is no embarrassment for being late or showing up later. I love this because if something happened in my life I would never miss a workout.

I've loved my time at driven so much. I started playing soccer in college after taking some time off, and the training I got at driven not only made me stronger and and better prepared for playing on the college level, but helped me go to school more confident in myself and and playing. I have been going to Driven for 3 years now and absolutely loving everything about it. The trainers Gary, the owner, and Brandon spend hours formulating workout plans and strategies to suit the needs of every client. As a college athlete with ongoing knee problems, I can attest to the effort and planning that these two put in to get me ready for my season. I have been weight training at Driven for about a year. When I moved to the area I tried another gym first that was closer to my home but left after feeling I wasn’t making progress. I decided to join Driven because I felt it was everything I was looking for. Gary designs everyone’s training program that is unique and individualized to one’s specific needs. I have grown in my strength and muscle building. He cares about your form and wants you to progress. Driven is not like other gyms. Gary cares and isn’t charging ridiculous prices and throwing together programs just to increase your heart rate. If you want a good quality work out routine, perfect your form, be stronger in your body, Driven is the place. The members at Driven are welcoming and you never feel judged. My only regret is that I didn’t start here first.

I actually landed at driven by accident one day as i was working right next it and decided to check it out. I walk and i see these young athletes working out in various exercises. I decided to send my daughter to Gary and see if she liked it and she did. I was tired of the same old gym routine,work dvds. You join for a few months and then you lose interest and motivation. In my whole life of playing sports i never had someone teach me the proper way of working out. We just did the usual bench press,curls,shoulder press,abs. So this year i decided i wanted to make a change and learn the correct way of training,eat right and losing weight. Gary and his coach Kara have been very helpful thru the whole process. They are easy to talk to and answer any questions you have. They always remind me "its not sprint but a marathon". Its been the best decision i have made for my daughter and i.

Driven fitness helped me rehab a torn ACL last summer and get me back in shape for my last year as a college athlete. I was able to play soccer as soon as the season started.
