Not only is this gym always supremely disorganized but now the machines have roaches living in them. Today is the second day in a row that I’ve witness small roaches crawl out of the cracks of the treadmill and the stair climbing machines. I am utterly disgusted as this indicates an infestation. I intend on cancelling my membership. This is UNACCEPTABLE.

I’m giving 5 stars for classes. Lucy teaches classes that are fantastic, enjoyable, challenging at your own level and pace and for all ages. I mostly do Lucy’s classes but I have also done Joan’s spin class and Muaras bar class and they are great!

One of the best gyms out there. Sauna, boxing and callisthenics is all I went for but they got it all, they got free weights too if your into that. Clean place. Never seen anything dirty. Unfortunately today is my last day there since I'm no longer in North Jersey. I see a lot of people complain about this place robs you or w/e but i never had that problem on top of that, cancelling was the easiest it's ever been in any gym. Thank you empire 🙏 when I'm back in North Jersey this gonna be my gym.

Ok facility. If you are intersted in Pools, whirl pools, steam rooms ... they are generally not well maintained. Lack of trained personnel on staff is the major issue. Whirlpools generally dirty or cold. Sometimes both and they stay cold for a whole week. The staff puts in hot water..tripping the limits and shutting diwn heaters. Tbey are completely unaware and do not remedy for days to week. Repairing broken equipment takes months. Mens steam room was down 10 months before repair. They are not open to any type of constructive feedback either.

Not a good gym. The facility, members, and equipment, are low priorities. Parceling out the gym to commercial tenants, and increasing volume seems to be the main goal.

In the weight room, disrespectful members rule the weight room. Weights are rarely racked, and general gym decorum is non-existent.

Because classes are offered for younger children, parents often bring toddlers. However, these children are generally unsupervised and allowed to roam free through the gym. I have personally been sprinting on a treadmill while a small child (no more than 6) was playing with a basketball behind me. I have even had words with disrespectful adults dribbling basketballs inside of the treadmill area.

Rules go unenforced by gym staff, principally because there is no staff. Generally one person sits at the front desk. There is absolutely zero observation in other parts of the gym.

I am truly surprised nobody has been severely injured yet.

I love this gym is clean the staff are friendly and there is a lot of different equipment to use and they have a swimming pool that was 9 month ago. now I see equipments broken, tv not working the shower with so dirty keep your slippers on. And all the water comes out the shower all over your changing area . which makes it hard to get dress. I am looking for another gym, that this size and close to my house. Also they have it so cold.

Horrible gym, they do not take care of their equipment at all. The smith machine has been broken for probably 3-4 months, i spoke to one of the owners and first he said that they ordered the part and later contradicted himself several times and said they don't have that specific part anymore because that machine is discontinued. One lie after another.. the sauna and steam room are DISGUSTING , they are rarely ever cleaned properly. Overall they don't care about safety nor do they care about keeping the place clean. Do not bother with this gym for the 54$/month price. This gym doesn’t have any running water fountains you can drink from. The sports rooms are always rented. The bathrooms smell horrible and are rarely cleaned. You don’t see any paper towels. They have been taking down most of the entertainment tvs from the cardio area. *REAL BAD EXPERIENCE * Recommend that this location’s management puts up a sign with their policies for non-members to avoid the appearance of discrimination and inconsistency when allowing people in the basketball courts while others are told to wait. Let me tell you why.

We have our son enrolled in basketball training with an independent coach that rents the basketball court by the hour. We are to be court-side at 5pm ready to train. However, the front desk person has on a few occasions asked me to wait by reception. The first time I understood because we had arrived by 4:45pm. But I know that when my husband goes with our son that no one asked him to hold back until til 5pm.

Today, the excuse that I was given was there was birthday celebration and the staff was cleaning the courts. It was 4:55pm. But people just kept going in especially a large group ready to play basketball.

When I asked to speak to the manager, the lady (Mariela?) that was cleaning the courts told me that it was their policy to clean and they didn’t want anyone on the courts until done. I explained that I understood and that my son does not get on the court until til his coach lets him know that he’s ready to start. She suggested that they would speak with the coach to sync up.

After I finally made it to the back and my son started playing I went back inside and this time a lady called Jazmin came out of the office and asked me if I was looking g for Mariela (?) that she was busy and I could speak with her instead. I did and explained that I was feeling targeted given that majority of the times that I took my son, the front desk person asked me to wait (4/6x). Even when we were arriving 5 minutes before training was to start! Btw- when I have made it to the courts, other non members were already there. Said family are Caucasians.

Jazmin explained that it was their policy and if I was not swiping (non-member) then to ask us to wait until the time was right to go in. Cool… I wasn’t feeling her tone and asked her to see it from my perspective considering joining? After all, I could workout while waiting for my son’s practice to be over. But now I would no longer be interested given the inconsistency of their explanations.

We typically arrive by 4:50-4:55pm see plenty of people crowding when our son’s class is ending…Jazmin (and a new receptionist guy) also said that guests are asked to wait by reception on average. And that the person that I had to address my discontent with was my son’s coach because he knows that guests shouldn’t be onsite before their contracted time. In other words, we can’t arrive a few minutes early but be at the facility at 5pm.

Idk - bad vibe altogether. I have not seen them consistently hold non-members back. It’s why I recommend that their management considers posting a sign with their policies.

The gym has potential but they got to change the way people rent the courts because is so random and unpredictable, I wish they have a time limit, so people can enjoy the courts when they are not rented. With time limit I am saying that people can rent courts from 8am until 5 or 6 pm.
Me as a member i think is kinda unfair that members pay every month and we can't enjoy the gym at full.

Very bad gym.
The gym gloats their many amenities but they are rarely available and up to date. The locker room is always dirty and has a foul smell. The sauna annd steam room are rarely cleaned since it was built. The swimming pools and jacuzzi are always dirty. The basketball courts are always rented and never available for members. Overall The gym experience was a disaster from start to finish. The equipment was outdated, the staff seemed disinterested, and the cleanliness was questionable at best. It felt more like a chore than a workout, and I left feeling more frustrated than energized. Save your money and find a gym that values its members.

Hello, this is the second time my wife has had an issue coming into your facility. We signed up our son for basketball training for an hour, we do not have a membership but we only come in for training. It seems when my wife takes our son, there is an issue with the time, a certain employee gives her a hard time to enter. The first time he said she can come in 10 minutes before scheduled training. Today, the same employee told her she can't come in until the exact time. I would like to speak to someone above the supervisor position if possible. Thank you.

This place false advertises their amenities. You are paying $55/Month for nothing. They do not accommodate for members at all.

If you are a non member you are much better off since the employee can kick out the members out of the basketball courts anytime. I have only been able to use the basketball courts twice in the last 5 months after 5PM. After complaining they mentioned that they accommodate for members from 3-5PM. DOES THAT EVEN MAKE SENSE!!! Since most people with a job are usually working from 9-5PM!

They do not ID the non members either. My friends have gotten their slippers, basketball and shoes stolen. There are multiple instances of items being stolen from locker rooms as well for other members.

The place strictly operates on profit and does not care for members. There are much better facilities within the neighborhood where you should invest your hard earned money. I have been a member for 4 years and soon as Empire Sports took ownership, the place has been very bad/unsafe. I would not recommend this place to anyone anymore.

I have attended 2 birthday parties here within the past year. Here are the details and my review on the first. There was a mini session of soccer, then inflatable bounce house in another room. The bounce house was dirty and the room was dangerous. The setup for the party was in he basketball court. Only 2 tables were provided even though we asked for more, they never came. Parents and kids ate on the floor. They were also short on the party supplies they provided. Then the kids played some basketball. The entire place smelled of cologne.

The 2nd party started at 3:30 but they could not set up until after 5:30 because there was an event still going on. The eating/party room was upstairs. There was an hour of soccer then an hour of basket ball, then 25minutes of eating, cake and rushing to clean up as the staff let the next party come in and bring in their things into the room.

I was a member at this gym for about 4 months until I got tired of it.

I was paying 55 plus tax a month for what I thought was all access basketball court. However they do not advertise or tell you in person that if someone ( member or non member ) decides to rent the court then you can not use it . Plenty of times I have been in a middle of a game and then an employee comes and kicks us off because someone rented the court. As mentioned before if you are not a member you can come and rent the court and kick out members (who pay for these amenities) off. I have seen both BASKETBALL courts being rented for soccer practices , volleyball , even for parties …. What’s the point of advertising a basketball court for members if the members can not even use it when they want to? If you are interested in playing basketball here do not even bother coming unless you are coming at 7 am to play pick up ball.

A simple resolution is leaving one court available for members and the other open for members and who ever wants to rent . But this doesn’t matter because they are money hungry and do not care about there members opinions.

I had my son’s 8th birthday and it was amazing! I definitely don’t think they promote their parties enough, they’re amazing! We had a 2.5 hour party; 1 hour of basketball, 1 hour of a bounce house then 30 minutes in a party room. They provided the food for the kids; each child had two slices, 1 water and 1 juice. They also provided the table cloths, plates and napkins. The price was affordable, the booking process was easy and Jasmine was great to work with. My son already wants to go back next year.

BIG ADVISE. Ask for the free 3 day pass before you get a membership. Glad I did. This gym has a wierd layout since it's not on a ground floor. Some areas are poorly lit. Very old gym equipment with some new. They do have decent pool with 2 hot tubs Pool is not Olympic size. Must bring own towels. Daycare avaliable certain days. Staff was ok. They made me 2 tastey post workout drink on separate days. Men's bathroom was clean. Unisex bathroom clean. Men's steam room broken. Men's suana was nice but fills up fast. Plenty of lockers but careful because the Men's locker room floor is wet. Free weights, hammer Strength, Smith & nautilus type machines & equipment avaliable. A small Crossfit are shared with weight room avaliable. Small boxing room avaliable. Spin class room avaliable & fitness class training avaliable. Trainers for hire. Upstairs track "closed because of covid". Basketball courts avaliable. Soccer areas avaliable. Vending machines & refrigerated sports drinks avaliable or they can make you a pricey workout shake. Ample parking. Cafe next door as well as a beauty salon & of all things a non denominal church called Church Alive. They also have reflexology & shirt printing. They need to replace some of the padding on the machines. It does seem they are trying thier best but the place needs more work. Gym closes at 11pm. Saturday at 8 & Sunday at 5. Pool closes at 8pm Weekdays. I decided not to get a membership.

Terrible service. My credit card was renewed with new card numbers and the bank told me there is no need to update vendors bc the bank automatically updates the vendors. Empire charged me late fees on the same card that was updated and refused to correct the amount. They just lost a member bc of a dumb $15 bucks extra late fees that they didn’t want to compensate me for.

I had a full year membership paid in full last March. In December, I had a knee injury and couldn’t exercise for a while. I kept meaning to call and ask them to freeze my membership, but kept hoping I’d get better and return. Today I finally returned and was told my membership had expired. I explained that I had an injury, offered to show doctor reports and such, but they wouldn’t bulge. They didn’t even give me a single extra day to work out, even though I had paid for 12 months but just used 9… hey, sometimes you give a little to get back a lot. If they offered to extend my membership for a month (or even a week!), I’d sign up for another entire year. But since they were so inflexible, I’m leaving and never returning. They just lost a customer.

Just a general observation. The parking circumstances are not great. I was hit and run, and the gym staff took a week to get back to me, they had to contact the building owners. After weeks of hearing nothing, I had to continually reach out to hear something and for them to tell me that the cameras that are on site do not work. Extremely unprofessional and it is clear they do not care about the clientele. I am not the only person that his has happened to and the staff does nothing.

Since new management took over, their staff is all over the place and as someone who works in management it’s truly irritating to see, The front desk is the face of the company every time I walk in one of their many young employees are sitting behind the desk on their phone with zero acknowledgment and emotion on their face not one smile just visibly miserable. Another huge issue is they charge nearly 10 dollars for a smoothie and I never know if it’s going to taste good or awful depending on who’s making them, the entire staff needs to be properly trained and on the same page.

I am very disappointed with this gym. My husband and I went there when it was Kings Court and loved it for the most part. In May of 2021 we went into the gym and withdrew our membership because we moved down south Jersey. For one year the new owners have been taking membership and fees out of our account. I did not notice this due to a very crazy year of fixing our house. I have called there several times to no avail. The receptionist said there is nothing they can do. This complex was managed by different team. Since they sold it, everything is out of shape. They want to save money so we have Zumba class in a small room without AC when outside is 100 degrees. When we complain they say it is locked and they cannot do anything about it. Stay away from there.

The class instructors are fantastic. The problem is the owners don't know what they're doing. Things like a weight room with laminate floors, a tiny spin room & bathrooms that you cannot use because they belong to the church next door even though the restroom is right by the working out/ weight room. Also they rent out different areas of the gym. Because of this, often you will see a about a dozen children running around. It is very unfortunate because this used to be a tiny Haven for gym lovers!

this gym is not recommended at all !!! I signed up because I want to workout and play basketball but it’s impossible to play basketball even tho they have 4 half courts !!! They rent them out 🤦🏻‍♂️So disappointed because they have in the pictures and in the contracts that the basketball courts are available at all times‼️‼️ Why do I even pay 40 $ if I can’t even do what I want !! It’s like paying to use the pool but the pool gets rented out all the time ‼️What kind of nonsense is this !! 0 out of 5 ‼️ THEY’LL EVEN RENT OUT THE WHOLE BASKETBALL COURT FOR VOLLEYBALL 🤦🏻‍♂️

Don’t mind change and equipment being moved around as referenced in other reviews. However pool is always cold although it’s supposed to be heated! Jacuzzis are dirty. And things are not fixed in a timely manner.

Absolutely horrible. My husband has attempted FIVE times to cancel and they basically refuse. He has gone in person 3 times and called 2 times and every single time was told a manager has to cancel and they will write down his name and number and call him back, which out of the 5 times has happened 0 times. Finally I called, so a SIXTH attempt and was told by the employee that basically there are no managers and the only person that can cancel the memberships is the owner, but there are so many little post it notes at the end of each day that most get lost. I find it insane this is how the management is run here. Will be disputing with the bank and blocking charges at this point because you physically cannot get out of a membership here no matter what you do.

Great gym! Most negative reviews I’m noticing are from the older members who are use to the old ways/layout and fail to adjust to change in a normal routine. The gym has made great efforts in updating itself by adding new equipment while the classes have a updated location with new floors, good lightning and great energetic teachers. I typically workout early mornings (5-6am) where the girl in the front is always super friendly. I hope the negative reviews don’t change your mind in joining as yes it is no longer Kings Court. It is now Empire Sports & Training

This Gym was better when it was Kings Court. I hope they dont try to knock down the boxing room walls or eliminate it just like they did with their racket ball courts. Please leave the boxing room as it is and if there is changes to be made please re arrange the bag setup thankyou . The new management is basically squeezing every equipment they have into the first floor making the space tighter. i went to run laps around the turf field and the motion lights never came on so i basically did my cardio session in the dark, alledgedly the turf field is only for rental use now so thats why the lights were off but who knows for sure since theres a bunch of changes goin on. Angie was the best and i can vouch for everyone when i say we all loved her and miss her presence at the gym. I wish all the best of luck to her and hope shes doin fine. management seems like they are trying to aim to make this gym a social club and not a private gym where you go to get your workout in

Really loved this place when it was Kings Court. Since the changeover (where it was promised that nothing was changing) they have since moved the workout classes into the dark dirty spin room. They did not communicate this to the instructors nor to the customers. Really saddens me as I have been going here for years but if it continues to move in this direction, I will have to consider a new gym.

The room upstairs is dirty, dark and no music ..poor trainers are frustrated..
People are switching to another gym
You better hire professional salesperson for the front desk..I'm sorry the kids at the front office don't know anything don't work well miss the old team

Front desk is terrible!
I went to leave the keys to my husband and while I was waiting, the girl at the reception complained about the new administration and that their mother was no longer working there! Stop talking and do ur *****ng job girl!

This is an awesome facility !! They are a one stop shop for fitness and athletics.. Very clean facility with all proper protocols in place, not to mention they are very organized. The staff is always warm, welcoming and very helpful..
