I begin my day here every morning and it is a great way to start. Great classes, club is always clean, and the staff is exceptional. From the greetings upon entering, to the trainers and locker room staff all top notch.

Nice gym , updated machines but the services don’t work. I used to watch Netflix here but now everything needs updating and doesn’t work. Additionally it takes awhile for repairs on machines. Otherwise everything is good , it’s clean and friendly but I feel for the price we are paying every month these things should be taken care of

The hours suck. I wish they opened at 4 am and closed around 11 pm. The gym is already small, and compared to other equinoxs, they don't offer much. I visit the one in Summit, and it's the little things like having small towels and hair brushes in the bathroom. Actually, the jump ropes in this gym also suck.

There are so many things to dislike about this gym; in terms of amenities and, cleanliness.
Equinox doesn’t have a standard. They aren’t fully equipped with hair brushes, hair ties, tampons, razors, at all times. In fact, Paramus doesn’t offer hair brushes, Secaucus Nj does though. It’s just those little things that you notice when you have a sports club membership, and travel; so I use many different equinox facilities. It that really disappoints
Me that I’m stating to notice that the company itself isn’t doing better as time progresses. So this review isn’t for the STAFF. They’re all Amazing. From the cleaners, the the front desk. Amazing.
This is really on EQUINOX. I hope someone can articulate my frustrations better, because I’m advocating for the people who use Paramus because they have to. Apply pressure and ask for more because they’re definitely abusing your loyalty. Like; there should be a sauna ? Not just a steam room?!

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at this gym. The space is consistently immaculate and well maintained, creating a comfortable and motivating environment. There are plenty of machines and various gym equipment for those who enjoy lifting weights and working out. But what truly sets it apart is the manager Fabian’s kindness and professionalism. Highly recommended!

I love equinox and brining my friends here. It’s truly a luxurious and amazing experience. It’s clean and a comfortable environment. In the women’s locker room/bathroom, they give you razors, hair ties, tampons and pads, mouthwash, clean fresh big showers, hair tools, and lotion for face and body. They also have a beautiful sauna. The trainers are also very friendly and know what they’re doing! I 100% recommend this gym to anybody who loves to feel relaxed and fresh while having a good workout.

I absolutely love Equinox! I’m on my second year going into my third. The gym is clean, smells nice, they even offer you cloths and brands like lulu lemon. There’s also a juice bar with canned/bottled drinks provided as well. It’s so quiet and peaceful and is never packed which I personally love. Finally, they provide clean towels as well as cold wet towels that are in the mini fridge located by the water fountains. The wet towels help me get through tough workouts!

The worst gym experience I’ve had so far.
I enrolled here because I was looking for a clean gym, but it did not meet my expectations at all. I didn’t research other gyms in detail before signing up, and once I became dissatisfied with Equinox, I started exploring other options. That’s when I realized I was paying extra money for nothing. You can easily find an above-average gym that isn’t as expensive but still offers the same amenities.
I won’t even get into their ridiculous commitment policy. Everyone is all smiles when you’re signing up and paying, but that changes quickly if you have an issue. I had to stop working out due to a herniated disc, and they gave me such a hard time. Their attitude completely changed—especially the front desk staff and the advisors.

For a upscale gym that claims the following on their website “This proprietary operating system, built to advance full health optimization, decodes and unlocks the peak of your potential, redefining High-Performance Living on a whole new scale” my experience has been dismal. My personal trainer after a year of training with her decided to drop me and did not help transition to another trainer. Texted me to drop me too 😢. The local General Manager refuses to return calls. For a high end gym that claims your health is important to them, there is a level of incompetence in leadership and ZERO client focus. Somewhat sad. On the positive side, the facility is really nice. Let’s see if their social media department has any competence. Prior survey responses to equinox led to no follow up

Overrated! Clean gym but the classes are slow paced due to the older crowd. Way to expensive for the rudeness and attitude of the staff and management. Avoid this gym and its awful management at all costs! The real equinox locations are in NYC and are much much better. Cheap soaps in the bathroom, broken tiles, and dirty towels.

The screenshots attached are in opposite order, the last photo being from more of the beginning of our discussion with the first photo being after it was all said and done.
Be very careful with this gym. They fibbed, and lied to me and charged me WITHOUT MY CONSENT.
Jason the sales rep was selling me on a $150 membership and gave me a one day pass. I chose to run out after my day so I could think and not feel pressured to sign up for a gym 30 minutes away from me. During my initial visit I told Jason I need to think about it because it is a 2k commitment for the year because they ONLY offer 12 month contracts for the first year before it becomes month by month. Don’t let them fool you.
He reaches out later that evening after my day pass and I will attach screenshots. Telling me it was the last day of the 50% off initiation fee (which is was but the very next day they were running a 100% back initiation fee promotion sooooo) and that he would actually wipe away the initiation fee totally. THEN tells me he can do a 6 month contract as that is what I was willing to commit. He calls me on the phone to get my card number and then says he’ll send me the contract and once it’s signed I’m all set.
When he sent me the contract, I OF COURSE read it as everyone should. And it specifically said 12 MONTH commitment. Ways out of this contract were like death and moving really far away. JUST SAYING GUYS.
I emailed him immediately after the contract was sent saying I CANNOT SIGN unless it is revised to reflect our prior conversation.
They like to say things like “you have my word” “don’t worry about it” “trust me”. A contract is a contract. SO the next morning I have a charge for $172. So the membership was in fact NOT 150 but 170.
So I contact Jason. I said I would like a credit back as I DID NOT SIGN or agree to the membership yet. He told me he will give me a 7 day pass to see if I like the gym.... AFTER I WAS CHARGED. When I refused the "free" 7 days, he told me I HAD 3 DAYS TO CANCEL THE CONTRACT WITHOUT FINANCIAL OBLIGATION.
They signed the contract FOR ME. And giving me a 7 day pass was designed to trap me after the 3 day grace period as per the contract.
I emailed John, the assistant GM and never heard back. I also contacted the equinox support email that has been posted in the reviews by the company and have not heard back also.
Be very careful, and honestly. The gym isn’t even worth what they charge. The only upside is the higher dose sauna in the gym, but it is an additional 40-65$ to use each time anyway. That was the only major selling point for me.
It’s a shame because I love spending money and am really easy to be sold in something I already want. But that’s slimy and they’re playing dirty.

A true love/hate relationship —-
This is the most ridiculous gym I have ever belonged to. The bragging, the outfits! It’s all about what you’re wearing instead of true focus on fitness for most. Iv seen things that are beyond inappropriate from eating salad on the stretch mat to gabbing on FaceTime to doing “super sets” that take up several machines while crowded, etc. And for the love of **** there is NO need to wear calogne or perfume at the gym! It’s extremely rude to ppl with allergies and breathing troubles. Similar to a reality tv show. I’d recommend it because the other lower tier gyms are no better and worse but wish this place had class like it did years ago. 5 stars to the classes offered for free and some of the trainers, although also over priced. Fun to experience, not something you would want for the way long term.

Overall a good experience. They can be a bit more friendlier answering the phone. Also they should consider keeping eucalyptus in one bottle in the steam room labeled. Then another bottle with water filled in it.

Just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the team that works tirelessly to make things happen. Recently I noticed the lady in charge of housekeeping thoughtfully wiping down the handles on the shower doors. I felt impressed by the attention to detail. On other occasions I was kindly and unexpectedly offered a towel while doing cardio. It’s the little things that matter. It means a lot.

Just a steam room and no dry sauna. Showers are small in men's locker room. Steam room is cleaned daily but is really the only amenity. Not overly crowded but that is more because of the steep member fee. They do require a 1 year commitment. No month to month and no budging on anything. Corporate dictates policies and Paramus cannot modify them. You can barely even get a response back from corporate. I think you can find something that offers more amenities for cheaper.

I’ve been at Equinox for over a year. The gym is beautiful and feels like you’re working out at a spa. Equipment is pristine and the people are all cool. But the best part of this gym, the absolute biggest game changer, has been their personal trainer Jesse Agbotse. The easiest way to put it is that this guy is an A-Team player, a true gem. He goes above and beyond to help the gym members and has an incredible program. With Jesse’s guidance and unique approach I was able to shed 20+ lbs.

This gym is honestly amazing. It’s impeccably maintained, clean, spacious, and tranquil. Even the app has a premium, high-quality feel.
Almost everyone who goes here is so courteous and respectful, and the staff are beyond friendly and really just awesome people. The Equinox crew make everyone feel welcome and included.
Elina, one of the trainers, is the absolute best. She radiates positivity and is so knowledgeable and helpful.
The classes and instructors are top-notch, and while I wish the gym had a little bit more equipment and weights, it has everything anyone would ever need to get a good workout.
Sure, the monthly membership is steep, and everyone’s mileage may vary, but for me, this gym is an oasis to which I look forward to coming every day.

Great facility, even better staff. Specifically, I'd like to shout out my experience with Chris and Michelle from the personal training department. They really helped me appreciate the value of getting in a routine and starting that process off with a training package that when broken down per session is very reasonable. I've only signed up for what I can afford initially but it's already proving worth it. Michelle and Chris are super friendly and hard working as is the entire staff I've encountered at this location. I've worked out at a variety of luxury gyms over the last 20 years: LA Sports Club, Equinox, Four Seasons Hotels, Ritz Carlton, etc. - and the experience I've had at Paramus Equinox is really great, particularly because it's small - not very crowded - and of course, has a great team of coaches and administrative personnel who do their job with professionalism and efficiency. I recommend this gym and Chris as you look to hire a trainer. A special thanks to the hard-working cleaning staff who work around the clock.

I wouldn’t call this a gym, it’s a wellness center b it’s truly my favorite place to get a great workout in. The vibes here are everything and the people you meet here are different(in a good way) It’s worth every penny. My favorite part are the cold towels and the sauna! It’s the best part. Love the atmosphere at Equinox. The trainers and staff are all pleasant and knowledgeable and always willing to help/assist when you need it. You’ll never not receive a smile upon walking in the door. The club is always clean and surfaces sanitized. This gym is $150 per month, but I've seen gyms that are $30 a month that are larger and have more/better equipment... It's honestly insane how over priced this gym is. Even if it was half the price, it would STILL be over priced.
You can literally go to 24 hour fitness, pay 1/3 the price, get a larger gym, more equipment, a basketball court, a pool, hot tub, and to top it off it's 24 hours.... It doesn't make any sense honestly. Why would anyone pay $150 a month to come here when they could go to an even better gym and pay FAR less?

This gym isn't as hyped up as the price tag that comes with it. I agree with Brian, in all of the shower stalls there is mold growing on the shower heads and even where the soaps are held. There is even some type of substance inside of the Kiels products they provide. The caps of the lotion and soaps are always open and full of guck. The steam rooms are horrendous, there's white mold everywhere. The staff are always hawking you and making fun of you behind your back (I know first hand because I sat with a trainer and witnessed her make fun of someone). It's an uncomfortable environment and not as cracked up as the sales advisors make it up to be. The trainers are started with minimum wage and go up within time, most of them are newbies in the game, so why am I paying $150+ a session? You can get more of a professional trainer at Golds gym paying half the price. Let me not mention that the lady who sold me the membership has gotten fired (some of the workers told me it was due to fraudulent reasons) so I still haven't gotten things she promised me (like money back for signing up). She lied and said I would be able to cancel within three months and management can’t help me at all. This gym is a joke and I honestly wouldn't recommend it to anyone, rich or poor. Your better off hiring a trainer and working out in your garage. Definitely NOT worth $161 a month, don't let the shiny floors and fake smiles fool you!

For me, this little shopping center, containing Equinox, is all about visiting the Panera's restaurant that is located here. There's altogether 9 businesses in the center with Equinox the largest. Its on the northbound side of rt 17 directly across from Barnes and Noble. Parking is very precious, especially around lunch time. Go around back behind Equinox and parking is more plentiful.

The parking is readily available and the club is convenient. The staff is friendly, But the group exercise classes are weak. Most weekdays There are no strength cardio classes between 6 AM - 9 AM. If you don’t like spinning or running there aren’t any options. There are very few strength training classes unless you want to take something before 6:30 AM.
The caliber of the teachers is much better in the NYC clubs. The fire starter class has been updated ages ago, however this club is still doing an early version with very poor cueing.
My final complaint is that members and even the instructor wears shoes in the yoga room. The floor of the group exercise room is usually dirty. Thankfully the bathroom/showers are clean. The amenities are up to equinox standards.
