I just signed up to this gym only to find out that they are closing North Bergen location. I feel cheated because the reason I signed up was because this location was closer to me now they are sending everyone to LA fitness were you would have to pay more. Not fair!

I've been coming to this gym for about 3 months and being my first time working out in a gym it was not intimidating, it feels very welcoming.
Charlie it's very nice, always I see him greeting everyone, keeping gym organize. The rest of the team very friendly and helpful.
The gym is very well maintained, when ever I see machines with tag "schedule for repair" in just couple of days it's fix. Ladies lockers and bathroom spotless.
They have kids club for the moms that workout, that's very helpful for me specially in summer break.
Im very happy I picked this gym to prepare for my competition.

This is an okay gym at best. There is a lot of negative energy and people lack overall gym etiquette. Nobody ever puts the weights back and no rules are actually enforced. It theoretically has everything one needs but there are definitely way better gyms out there. The only reason I still go here is because it’s close by and it’s cheap.

Been going to the gym for 3 to 4 months. I always go in early cause I feel when I come in later it will be to crowded. Plus the weights are all over the place. They should have someone for overnight to clean the gym so it will be clean when the doors open.

Over crowded with the weirdest looking 3rd world country mutants. Machines are out dated and usually broken. If you're looking for a South American feel and like waiting for an hour for 2 Spanish gnomes to finish there awkward 100 sets of bad form exercises, then this is the place.

the gym is good and the manager is a very nice person but I canceled today because my wife did not bring her identification and I understand that I have to bring it but my reason for canceling was that the lady who is always at the door after 9 am treated me super I made a tremendous scandal badly and it is very unprofessional on her part and on other occasions I have seen her treat other people badly and that is why I do not recommend it to anyone

I wanted to post a review of my thoughts of my first few weeks here at Esporta Fitness in Union City. If you're looking for a gym, I would not choose this gym. Its cheap and you get what you pay for. If you want to re-rack everyones weights before you rack your own, this gym is for you. If you want to watch young boys flex in the mirrors and take photos, this gym is for you. People here hog all the weights and leave them wherever they want without putting them back in the proper place. Just this week, I have watched people deadlift in the middle of the gym, walk away and leave someone else to un-rack their weights to use the bar.
The management lets this go on and the gym is a wreck. If you're looking for 20 pound weights, they'll be next to the 60s, and the 40s will be next to the 10s and the 30s will be next to the 90s. There is no organization. The gym is truthfully really dirty and a lot of the weightlifting machines are not up to par and in good working conditions, that includes treadmills and bikes. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because its cheap and affordable. Everything is sticky and I 100% shower after every visit.
I don't know who is rating this 5 stars or if its bot accounts, but this is not a 5 star gym. For the record, I have never attended any classes, so this review does not account for those.

If you’re looking for a gym in Hudson County you have to go to Esporta Fitness North Bergen. I just moved back to the area after being away three years and Charlie the general manager took care of me like I never left. He makes everyone at the gym feel like family. I’m so happy to be back here at a gym where management is on top of everything and will make sure you are happy. I can’t say enough good things about Charlie and the team at Esporta Fitness North Bergen. Appreciate you Charlie!

This gym needs MAJOR improvement. Juice bar is no longer there and gym equipment needs repairing. Also, it’s LA Fitness, but now they go by Esporta and they both have two different membership prices. It makes no sense. Example, I pay $49.99 and can bring one guest while my brother pays $24.99 and can bring TWO guests because he got told to sign to Esporta while I was told I had to sign with LA Fitness again even though my membership was up and there is no contract here. It seemed shady to me and they only wanted to fix it when I said something about it, but the manager said I had to cancel my LA membership and repay another $50 to be an Esporta member. He also said he is the manager and not his job to inform me of the Esporta option. He was the one who sat me down to renew my membership so it made no sense for him to tell me that it is not his job to do. I felt ripped off. I now joined the YMCA and it’s 10x better!!

This gym is not recommended by me because of the terrible customer service and communication between company and clients. They were very rude to me and they gave away my person trainer spot even though it was supposed to be my appointment. Also I can’t predict what is going to happen in the future so the tell 24 hours ahead doesn’t work. I had to go to an urgent event which I was told about last minute. I told the personal trainer around like 5 hours ahead so that she could go enjoy her time. Yet they still charged me for no reason. Would not recommend

Was in town from Texas for few days and needed a place to workout. After a quick search I found Esporta. Glad I did. I used their 5 day guest pass and would be a member of I lived in town. Clean kept and plenty of parking which can be a major issue given that part of town. Manager Charlie Fernandez was very courteous despite only taking advantage of their 5 day pass with no intent on joining. I appreciate them for letting me use their facilities for a few days. I highly recommend this gym.

Pros: the general manager and staff are very nice, the gym is kept pretty clean and tidy, there are plenty of spray bottles available for disinfecting, pretty much all of the equipment is in working condition if not a little dated, reasonable prices

There are some areas that this gym could improve on though: mask policy is kind of lax — I always see multiple people with their mask down on the gym floor. There’s 4 benches, an incline bench, a seated shoulder press, and 2 squat racks, but there are only 6 barbells, which doesn’t make sense to me. Also, many of the barbells are warped. Please buy more/better barbells (a weight belt and bumper plates too)? The gym could also use like 2 more squat racks and a straight pullup bar — theres certainly room for them.

This place looked great, not to packed. i gave it a full 5 stars. becuase no one was rude to me or harsh. But I applied for a guest pass. Because I learned a gym is a lot like a car. You don’t want to commit into anything until you experience it.unfortunately they don’t do guest passes there which is weird. Not sure why they would have it if it’s not allowed at that location. Which is fine. But when I asked to see the manager to at least get a lay of the line and sign up if all went well. I was told he was busy with two other customers which is fine. Not his fault. But at the very least let a potential member use the one time guest pass until your ready to meet with them more formally. I’m an EMT so I get it when your on a time Crinch. Otherwise It looked like a great the location too was ideal. Those are the only two downsides to this place. Otherwise this place seemed great good equipment, VERY clean. And even the front desk people we really super nice. Very attentive. Unfortunately I couldn’t use the equipment or even look around. I would definitely recommend this gym. It just sucks I wasn’t able to even go in.

This gym is very clean and spacious! There's two floors filled with good machines that look to be well taken care of. The general manager, Charlie, is also very sweet and was very helpful :). Can't wait to use the sauna room once Covid subsides and restrictions are lifted. Also, there is ample parking which is a plus considering that it's in Hudson county! I've also noticed how the general manager Charlie is on top of running the gym; seeing him walk around to make sure things run smoothly and areas are clean overall.

I went to see the location on Saturday morning. The manager Carlos was extremely helpful very nice in showing me all the new options available in the Esporta branch of LA Fitness. The facility was very clean and I love the assortment of equipment. They have new and some of my very favorite older machines in great working condition. The also have a very spacious upstairs cardio area with more machines and a huge room for classes and a spinning room as well. This facility is right next to my residence. Thank you Carlos I’m showing me the new options and very affordable pricing.
