First of this is an amazing gym and culture. It’s really the perfect blend of hospitality and fitness. We were met by a representative named Ben and this guy was perfect. Unfortunately, I have to rewrite this review. The place is garbage. It’s packed (likely due to the cheap price), lockers are trashed and constantly broken into. It’s obvious a ton of guys come in without checking in at the front desk, staff doesn’t care. I quit my membership here and moved to a nicer gym. I’ll gladly pay more if I’m certain my lock isn’t going to get bashed in.

This gym is close to my house so it’s a shame it ended up like this. This place used to be really nice. Not sure what happened.

Drea has been training me since 2022 and she has helped me so much. The group training is a great value for getting training 5 days a week- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Saturday is the best class where Drea has created a wonderful community. I have lost about 70 pounds. Drea has helped me build a healthy lifestyle with water intake, rest, and the right food to eat. She is so helpful and if you put the work in you can see results. Her classes keep me inspired to workout and always move my body I went from working out to once a month to 5-6 days a week. Drea has changed my life and I can honour my father who died of a heart attack. With my 70 pound weight loss and active lifestyle I get to make him proud. Good gym. Special acknowledgement to Deepa Bakshi and Ramsies. I've been going to this location since 2014 and you can always count on Deepa for a warm and friendly welcome. She has always helped me with any issues that have come up... Forgotten water bottles, membership renewal, etc. Ramsies is hardworking and professional. He keeps the gym in order and even re-racks the weights for all the patrons who are too lazy to clean up after themselves. Thanks you two for making my workouts even that much better!

I thought I finally found a decent gym but they kick you out before it’s even the time. They come up to at you to leave 10 min before it’s even time to leave. If you come an hour before closing they make sure you know it’s closing in an hour, in an aggressive manner. Customers who pay the membership deserve to be there till the last minute. I always leave the minute it turns that hour to leave. I never stay a minute longer. It’s not like not like retail or food businesses where you have to do a lot before closing down. The behavior of everyone here is unacceptable and I will be switching gyms solely based off this.

This gym is what you make of it. People complain but if you are a motivated individual, you will have a great workout here. I joined specifically for the indoor basketball court, which has been shareable between other athletes when occupied. I enjoy the pool. It's not a 24 hour gym which I think influences its clientele to be less intense in exercise mentality. Employees are always friendly. It's awesome being a gym rat here :)

I don't usually write reviews but I felt obligated, as my experience here was more than satisfactory. I went in not really sure if I would be signing up, as there are multiple factors that go into my decision.
How do you treat your customers/gym-goers?? Ben, the GM, was super attentive. He also toured me around and answered any and all questions that I had with clear, concise responses. I've actually toured multiple other gyms but something about him was relatable, and his positive attitude convinced me to sign up. They have everything you'll need to stay on top of your fitness whether you're a body builder or a grandmother. Also the gym is kept really clean, another big factor!!

Great gym. I go super early during the week. Ashley is always hospitable and very accommodating. Gilma always makes sure the floor in the room with the heavy bags is moped and swept in the AM. I like to train barefoot, so this is a serious "plus" for me.

Since updating my review last night, the problematic staff member has gotten five of her personal friends to post false reviews praising her. The proof is in the pudding folks - this person is controlling and toxic!

UPDATE 01/2024: Many of the recent reviews are all fake! The gym is desperate for members because it’s dirty, understaffed, and a lot of the equipment is broken.

Most of all, myself and other decade-long members of this gym have been fighting management about the staff member who kicks people out early, interrogates and has inappropriate confrontations with members.

I wanted to hold off on my update, but more and more people have been “liking” my comment, and when I saw all these fake reviews, I had to have my say. I’ve been talking to more members in the gym and we’ve all had enough.

If things don’t get better, I will be writing petitions and contacting the better business bureau. This is my final warning to the staff. No more games and no more fake reviews. Get better and get it done.

UPDATE 09/2023: This place keeps getting worse and worse. Three years after the pandemic, the hours have never returned to normal let alone the 24-hours as promised after quarantine. The good staff here always ends up leaving. It’s a revolving door of staff members and that reflects poorly on Esporta as a company. The machines that have been broken for four years are STILL broken and are in no sight of being replaced.

Recently, they took away all the paper towels on the gym floor. They can’t replace broken machines or hire enough maintenance staff, but they put in effort to inconvenience all of us from wiping our faces or wiping down machines!

And the worst, the absolute worst thing is the lady with the red hair kicks everyone out of the gym early on Friday and the weekends. An absolute slap in the face.

Do NOT buy a membership here. This place needs to fail and be bought out by another gym. Esporta is a dumpster gym and a scam.

There needs to be better leadership and maturity in the staff. A few months ago, I broke up a near-fight while the young staff sat there and shook their heads. The argument was going on for 30 minutes! Not one worker took initiative to stop it. Adults in their late teens and early 20’s can not and should not be in control of a gym. I’ve been going here for more than a decade. When they canned the original management after the pandemic, the gym went downhill. There needs to be a superior presence.

Also, after quarantine they announced a 24 hour gym. Two and a half years later, they’re still operating on pandemic hours.

Management doesn't care about any customer problems. I was having a serious problem and the woman at the front desk said the manager would contact me. I never heard back. I wonder if the woman threw my note away? She seemed reluctant to get management involved. Someone stole my pool shoes. Who steals shower shoes? God knows, but I guess they go to Esporta. Either that or a janitor threw them away. Lesson learned: never turn your back for even a moment in this place I guess. I have been a member at this gym for many years now. I always clean up after myself and have minded my own business since the first day. I have watched many employees come and go through here. Recently I had some protein bars fall out of my gym bag by the front desk. I went up at the end of my workout to ask if the front desk found them and one of the employees was eating one of them, and offering another to one of his coworkers. I calmly stated that they were mine and had some, not all, of them returned. This kind of behavior and literally stealing from members is honestly unbelievable, and I will probably never trust the employees here again. Truly unacceptable.

The facility was clean, various machines not offered at previous gym (PF) ALL looked to be working properly when taken for a tour. I would give the place a higher review, but four of the six elliptical machines I like have issues or are awaiting service (this has been going on for about two months). Two of the six machines that do “work,” have their problems. One machine does not allow users to manually adjust the resistance if desiredl, while the other is missing the ledge that allows users to prop up a book or device.

So disappointed with this gym. Equipment is always down. When you have approximately 20 people in the gym & you have to wait for an eliptical or treadmill that is ridiculous. They have more than 20 of each of the machines. They have been down for months. For some reason my review has been either deleted or otherwise however, I brought my 15 year old son, into Somerdale Esporta Fitness to attempt to introduce him to a health routine while focusing on my recovery from an extensiveinjury. Not even two weeks and three visitswe were met with a pressure tactic proposal for a fitness assessment by the trainers. Wanting my son to gain some experience I conferred with the trainer and told him we wont be taking advantage of the training after the assessment, we just want to het the hang of a routine before I consider the investment. The trainer became manipulative and cimbative telling me and my son who was 14 at the time he was overweight and he would never see any results without him,
He also told me to my face My son was never going to make it, hes going to get hurt unless I pay more money for training, again tried to repeat the fear tactic as if this was urgent and that I need to make a decision now because we wont see any results without pay the extra 150-200per month for training.

Next of the many hateful and verbally violent attempts to shatter my confidence I was being charged a balance again, alarm going off at 3AM when I called after the third alarm I was discouraged and asked is this what its going to be like working out there making Somerdale my home gym? I'M JUST TRYING TO WORK OUT AND SHOW MY SON BETTER, I mind as well cancel my membership I want a refund the manager BRE Threatened my financial well being by saying she can cancel my membership but she won't SHE WILL CONTINUE TO DUB MY ACCOUNT UNTIL I PAID 25 DOLLARS TO CANCEL OR MY ACCOUNT SIMPLY EXPIRES.

SOMERDALE ESPORTA FITNESS filled with Psychologically Violent trainers, and Management, They used manipulative and fear tactis, prey on your confidence to get you to bend, on top of that they let the pool and hot tub become a cesspool of blood clots, Biological Hazards and unclean conditions that is harmful.

Lately, the gym has been a mess. Equipment has notes for weeks on end that say they’re waiting for service, but they do not get fixed. Kids come in and have 0 gym etiquette, weights are left all over the floor and on racks, water bottles are everywhere, and the younger kids rough house. Someone is going to get hurt. Also, when I walked in today someone had taken a new picture under my account and they’re using it. They made sure the picture is blurry so you can’t tell who it is, but clearly it is a young male. Apparently, some staff are letting their friends use paying customers accounts. UNREAL! I’ve been coming here a long time and it’s only gotten this bad in the last 6 months or so. I’m happy the younger crowd is spending time here and working on their health, but do it respectfully.

85% of the treadmills have been down for a month now. Maybe 30% of the TVs on the exercise equipment work. The pros to this gym is it doesn’t get alot of traffic so you can get on what you pretty much when you want. But the maintenance that’s done on the treadmills is zero to none. The cable machines don’t have to many hand attachments. I asked the lady if they could order more cable handles and she said they constantly get stolen. IMO that’s due to there not being a designated area for them like other gyms, they just get left all over the floor. Also Some weight machines are missing hand grip rubbers. Other than that, it’s a clean and great gym. The staff is friendly and helpful and they also have a single basketball court.

Even the workers at this place leave weights on the floor after they use them. This location has 0 personal trainers because they are more concerned with hiring sales people rather than people knowledgeable in fitness. The members at this location sit on the machines texting on their phones between sets instead of letting someone else work in. I updated my review and added 2 more stars only because the equipment and layout at this location are better than other locations. I had to update this again because the staff needs to get off the phone and teach members gym etiquette and how to use the machines. I have seen numerous members walk out of the bathroom without washing there hands. This place is getting worse.
Update they have been much better at keeping this place clean. Added 2 stars.

Very nice facility and clean. The pool is great and the steam room is very nice. Showers are open except for the hot tub. They have a good amount of equipment for every part of your body as well as classes on the weekends. All in all I like coming here in the morning before I got to work.

Careful they got me for 280$month when it was sold as "180$ month from here on out." Beyond that clean, staff I see sanitizing, pool needs a little work but everything else perfect. No other complaints

Fraudulently charged my credit card $280 for 6 months without me noticing after I had cancelled my personal trainervover a year ago called corporate and they said whoopsie it was a miscommunication lol DO NOT GO HERE

Much cleaner and well lit and well taken care of then the one in Cherry Hill. It is newer but that's not the reason why you can tell there was people cleaning all around when I was there and the pool in the pool perimeter and the locker room is cleaner also. Soap dispensers are full paper towels are full locker room floor spotless.
