I’ve tried a few gyms around, and this one is by far my favorite! The staff is super friendly, everything’s super clean, and the atmosphere is amazing. It’s become the best part of my routine. I go at least four times a week, and I’m always learning, pushing myself, and having fun!

Four months ago, I decided to return to BTS after a five-year break. I came back with arthritis in my knee, balance challenges, and feeling weaker than I wanted to admit. But I showed up — and the incredible BTS coaching staff met me exactly where I was.
Through their personalized modifications, encouragement, and constant check-ins, I’ve made amazing progress. Today, I can go up and down stairs pain-free, do lunges, and even full sit-ups!
I’m so grateful for the support and expertise of this community. If you’ve been thinking about getting back into it — no matter your age or ability — I highly recommend BTS. You’ll be met with patience, strength, and so much heart.

I started at Fitness by the Sea looking for a summer gym and to try CrossFit-style workouts. I walked in a little intimidated, but the coaches and members are incredibly welcoming and supportive, no matter your fitness level. This quickly became my favorite gym. I joined BTS a month ago. After trying a few gyms in the area, BTS stood out. I had very little experience with CrossFit so it was super appealing that they had alternative bootcamp & traditional weightlifting classes. Ironically the traditional CrossFit classes have become my favorite but it’s great to have options (something I haven’t seen in other gyms). All the coaches are awesome & have been more than willing to help with the CrossFit movements I’m unfamiliar with and always provide alternative scaled down options. They do a social event once a month and the other members have been very welcoming. Challenging workouts & great community.. would highly recommend to anyone thinking about joining!

Fitness by the sea is a great fitness community that allows for all fitness levels and sizes to feel comfortable about what their goal is. My goals changed all the time, and I felt like I could always get a great workout and modifications were given if I couldn’t do the highest level. The coaches help motivate and do correct form when necessary. The gym also has so many events for members to go and socialize, which is great if you’re shy or new to the area. Everyone finds a friend here to workout with or to get drinks with! Love it, and even though my fitness journey is on a hiatus, would 100 percent recommend this gym to anyone. Ashley, Grant and Jay are the best! They also keep the gym very clean and up to standard on equipment.

Love this community. Coaches are the best. The coaches know my reasons for scaling certain exercises. I’m in the best shape of my life while in my late 50’s. Thanks to coaches and their focus and getting to know each member both on a personal and physical level. Scaling is not frowned upon but encouraged. Plenty of time to warm up before classes start.

I’ve been attending this gym for about two months now, and I can confidently say it’s the best gym I’ve ever been a part of. The coaches are incredibly supportive and knowledgeable, always pushing you to do your best while making sure you’re moving safely. This gym has given me a great second family. I have been part of this community for 9 years. I love the fact that they cater to any fitness level and make you feel so welcome. The coaches are amazing and never make you feel like you don't belong. They always give you options if you are having difficulty due to injury or rep scheme. I have been a member at fitness by the sea for just over a month and I love this place. The community and members in addition to the motivating coaches or will draw me back. This is not your every day planet fitness. If you’re looking for a results driven community That is motivating you day after day to achieve your goals then this is the place. Many members have been here for 5+ years and it’s exciting to see their commitment to the gym!
In addition to those things, the owner Coach Ashley, genuinely takes pride in the business by making members feel wanted and challenging them to achieve their fitness goals. The gym hosts, different events like golf, outings, bar, crawls, and different themed workouts. 10/10 would recommend.

Great instructors, very warm and friendly clients.
My 12 year old is too young for the group classes but he does a 1 on 1 with a former Div 1 soccer player. She know exactly what he needs for greater functional training. Noticable improvements after 5 sessions.
I go to the 30 minute HIIT class and the 60 minute Flex with Aaron, I really feel the difference.
I do recommend starting at an easy level of difficulty because the format is more challenging than a standard gym workout. Give yourself time to adjust to the demands of CrossFit.

11 years ago, I joined Fitness by the Sea. I walked through the doors at 52 years old, pudgy and in the worst shape of my life. About 1 year later, I was in the best shape of my life. I showed up 4-6 times a week for 1 hour, did the workout of the day, and changed my life. The best part; it was fun. I started to coming to bts when I was trying to get back into fitness after having my two boys. I had always thought CrossFit was intimidating and not for me. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I am in my 8th year at Fitness by the Sea and I still get excited for the workout every day. The workouts are always varied so you never get bored and they can be modified for EVERY skill level.
Since I started training at BTS I’ve mastered skills I never thought I would be able to do at my age. My strength and cardio fitness is the best it has ever been!
And if being in the best shape of my life wasn’t enough of an incentive to get to class 5 days a week the coaches and the community are so supportive and inclusive it makes pushing yourself to the next level so much fun. I never want to miss a class.

Originally joined this gym in 2019 to meet more people in the area. Fell in love with the atmosphere, classes, and community. The coaches actually care about your progress and celebrate your achievements. I had my first baby in August 2024 and loved going to this gym throughout my pregnancy. I always felt I was keeping my baby safe by scaling any workouts I needed. The amazing moms and other members got me back in the gym 6 weeks post partum and inspire me to keep coming back. I honestly don’t know what I would do. If BTS fitness wasn’t part of my routine. I am an older active woman who likes to swim and cycle, but I know the value of lifting weights and general fitness . The classes at BTS are varied and easily modified to my ability and age. Generally speaking, I am usually one of the older people in class but I never feel out of place or like I don’t belong there. All of the coaches are concerned with form and safety.

Fitness by the Sea is by far the best part of my day. Starting with the location in Avon which is right near the beach and make the runs during workouts extra wonderful. The coaches are TOP NOTCH. They motivate, they educate, they entertain! This makes the workout that much better. You can see your progress, they handhold when needed, and they get just as excited about your PRs as much as you do. The members are welcoming and it’s incredible when you miss a few days and people notice. It holds a level of accountability that I didn’t know existed until I came here. This is a long overdue review, but I can speak volumes on why BTS is the ONLY gym you should be a member of in the shore.
I have been a member of the gym for just over 10 years (despite several hiatuses for school related purposes) and will be a member for years to come.
In 2014, I watched Jay, Ashley and Grant open the gym with a dream, and I don’t think they realized at the time how big that dream would eventually become and how many people it would involve. But that dream doesn’t become a reality without their hard work, their dedication, their selflessness, their inclusiveness and their ability to evolve. Each of them offers something unique when you take their individual classes, but one thing that never changes that they share in unison, is they genuinely care and pay attention to each members overall well-being, not just their physical.
Similar to JAG, the other coaches (Aaron, Renee, Jess, Justin, etc.) emulate the vision that JAG has for the gym. Their energy and compassion are unmatched. They can push you beyond what you think you’re capable of but also have the ability to flip the switch and be patient with you as you challenge yourself.
Because of them, the community that has developed behind this gym is one that is friendly, fun to work out with and welcoming beyond belief. Not only will you get in great shape, but you will make great friends while doing so.

BTS isn't just another place to work out or lift weights. Yes, it offers classes that focus on strength and others that focus on agility or mobility. Yes, it has CrossFit routines and HIIT classes. But can't you get that anywhere? Probably. What you cannot get anywhere, though, are the owners and coaches at BTS, who make this gym special. Each coach has a different approach to instruction, but each brings professionalism, care, and fun to a class - even ones where you might hate the movements. Whether is was a small ask like changing the Spotify playlist or a more serious request like guidance on exercise modifications due to injury, each coach is happy to oblige. And I think you'll be hard pressed to find another gym where so many members look forward to seeing each other both at the gym and then outside of it for a hockey game, a Christmas party, or bar crawl. I'm not sure how they've done it, but BTS has created a devoted following of members who come for the fitness, but stay for the family. BTS is a gym like no other! There are various classes to choose from to fit your workout needs. The coaches are enthusiastic, friendly, and encouraging. The community is supportive and kind. Great staff. The workouts are intense (as per CrossFit standards), but you can always take a break and jump back in when you’re ready. No one’s forcing you to do anything. I liked the class I did.

Dropped in for a 4th of July WOD (which kicked my butt). The gym was clean and wide open. Plenty of room to work. The coaches were welcoming and thorough and my fellow athletes were all extremely friendly. A great place. Highly recommended

I joined this gym about four months ago and I am absolutely pleased and love it here! They have all types of programs for all types of people, for those who are interested in different things. For heavy and serious Olympic weightlifting to those looking to get in shape with a group of like-minded people. With the most professional and friendly staff this place is a go to for fitness on the shore!

By far my favorite box !!! I’ll never forget the 1st time I walked in, Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. After trying many different types of workouts. Crossfit has got me hooked!! I look forward to 9pm every night. To see the next day workout . Don’t feel intimated just come try it! If you can’t do the workout the coaches will always have ways for you to scale it until you can achieve it. I’m in shock by my progress and excited to get better and better. Couldn’t do it without these awesome coaches !

THE GREATEST GYM EVER! Jay, Ashley, and Grant are always kind, attentive, and knowledgeable during the classes. Whenever you need a workout scaled or more clarification they are always super helpful and patient. Unlike other gyms I've been to, I don't feel intimidated and it is great for all skill levels. The rest of the staff and gym members are so friendly. The programming is always on point and the vibe in there is just awesome.

I was a nervous wreck walking into Crossfit by the Sea, basically because I could have given birth to the majority of members who were in attendance. My first class, I was the last one to finish wallballs and there was all this cheering going on - I realized everyone in class was cheering for me! I was stunned! That's the spirit of this gym. It has become my home away from home. I'm stronger and in better shape than I've probably been in my whole life, thanks to the superb coaching. They have supported and encouraged me all along the way. For that, I will be forever grateful.

Crossfit By The Sea is a great gym, with a great atmosphere, members, and most importantly staff. I currently train MMA and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for the past 6 years, and I decided to give CrossFit a try to help with my conditioning and explosiveness. I used to lift weights avidly, and get terribly bored with it. And I was super skeptical about CrossFit. But after training for a little over a month, I can see why people love it. The atmosphere is awesome and the group training pushes you in your workouts. If I were to attempt these workouts on my own, I would not have the motivation. Everyone pushes each other at their own pace, and the staff is awesome and very knowledgeable. I would recommend anyone, regardless of their experience in fitness, to check out this gym.

I really struggle in gym environments. I'm one of those nerds that's great in research and study, not so great in physical arenas. At CrossFit by the Sea, they make me more and more comfortable every single day. They make me more comfortable because they use that "learning interest" nature I have to show me the techniques, and make sure I'm doing them correctly. In learning the techniques, I feel more comfortable.
The people there are incredibly supportive. They may not know my name, but, they clap for me when I run by, or keep trying, even after they've finished. They do introduce themselves, they make conversation, and they make me feel like I belong there when before I really felt like I didn't (self-imposed.)
The coaches take the time to listen to me. Some days, I'm really anxious, and they help get me in a place where I can focus. I can't explain how valuable this component is.
Most importantly, since I've been really putting effort in, I've lost 15 pounds and still going. I'm starting to see visible changes in my body. And, I'm seeing huge changes in how much I'm capable of doing! I'm learning, growing, and doing it in an environment where safety is the top priority, followed very closely by fun and motivation.
If you've ever considered joining a CrossFit gym, I couldn't recommend CrossFit by the Sea any more highly. Thank you, CFBTS!
