the new squat racks are horrible. the floor isn't even straight and even, which is making it a safety hazard. absolutely no deals for memberships unless you sign up for the yearly memberships. not worth the price considering the short commute from home. never satisfied with the quality of the gym.

the squat racks aren't aligned with the mirrors leading to poor form and unsatisfactory workout. please fix this. it's not difficult aligning the squat racks and BOLTING THEM DOWN.

i come here to relieve myself of built up stress but all it does is increase me stress levels.

Terrible management from the manager. The place is like a gym for homeless people. I never been to gym more disgusting than this place. Mold all over the wall and members are so careless about the gym and other members. Just cause your fit don’t mean you own the gym. I also noticed a lot of staring. Like are we having a staring contest? Another is that I noticed lot of staring at younger woman from old old pops. Idk if they are underage or what. Asian woman/girl look very young. Not everyone is Bill from patriots coach from New England. Gym needs a new owner and just start new starting from employees here. Especially the managers. I usually go to Fitness Factory Edgewater, but I came to visit this gym to check it out. There are ups and downs to coming to this location over Edgewater...

The lower price point for this particular location means a relatively much busier gym. I came on a Saturday on off peak hours and it was still pretty busy so I can only imagine the foot traffic during the week or at peak hours.

The cleanliness here needs some serious work. The lockerrooms are very small, the lockers are filthy and I seriously worry about storing any belongings in them because they look like they haven't ever been cleaned. There is only one sauna in each of the locker rooms while Edgewater has two in each of the lockerrooms: a regular dry sauna and an infrared sauna.

If you have an all access membership and its close to you, Edgewater is way better overall. Its way less busy and much cleaner, and lockerrooms are way more spacious. The membership at Edgewater ($60+) is more than double the membership at Palisades ($25+) but you do get all access to all Fitness Factory gyms if you go with the Edgewater membership.

However, I must say the equipment at the Palisades location is surprisingly better and more varied, so that's a tradeoff to consider.
If you only want to go to Palisades, then its a very solid gym for $25 regardless of the cons.

Solid gym at a very affordable price. My biggest complaint is that it's lacking equipment, having only 1 smith machine and 1 spot for double cables. So certain exercises may require a long wait. I do feel like I'm getting a good value out of this gym despite that. Rarely have to wait long for a bench or for a squat rack.

I had a terrible experience with this gym. I spoke to two different front desk representatives in advance to cancel my annual membership. On the very last day, I double-checked to confirm the cancellation. The lady at the front desk assured me that everything was “good to go” and even mentioned that she had made a note in the system. I thought everything was taken care of.

Two months later, I discovered that they were still charging my account. When I contacted the manager, I was told that I needed to fill out a form to complete the cancellation process. I was never informed about this form at any point during my interactions with the staff. Instead of taking responsibility, the manager blamed me and said it was my responsibility to complete the form that I had never been told about.

This is by far the worst and most deceptive experience I’ve ever had at a gym across the entire United States. I would strongly advise others to avoid this place to prevent similar issues. They do not respect their customers and seem more focused on squeezing extra fees than on providing honest and transparent service.

I joined about 2 months ago and so far so good. Friendly staff and a fairly big open space. It’s also three floors! The astro turf is definitely my favorite part because you can stretch and practice hand stands.

As others have mentioned in their reviews, there are some wear and tear on the machines and some shower heads did not work last I tried but I have seen them replace and upgrade matts time to time. I just wish there was more of a culture of people putting the weights back after use, especially for the senior citizens and people new to the gym. There isn’t any central weight rack so you’re constantly borrowing from other machines and a lot of the weights end up by the floor or on the sides of walls, it just get a little cluttered which then takes up space.

And as always there is the high school bro crowd after 3pm and the work crowd after 5pm but that’s almost every gym.

Also I personally love that they have lots of windows, lots of dumbbell areas and general location. It’s walking distance to a lot of near by yummy food and shopping areas. Prices are decent too. No issues yet for me crossing fingers…

I'm just baffled at the way this place operates. Friend of mine that I wanted to work out with had an old account there before he took a long trip outside the country- turns out he was being charged the entire time on a method that has been declining- so to his surprise they wanted something close to 200 out of him. This is marketed as a no commitment plan, but although he had no awareness, nor any correspondence to his email, they continued to accrue the fees, and threaten collections because we're saying it's absurd that without any contact they continued to accrue a fee that was clearly not being paid.

Upon hearing this, I decided to cancel my non-commitment plan which I opened 5 days prior. They won't process the cancelation unless a signature is received saying I'll have to pay whatever they invoice for the next 15 days. I told them I'm not signing that because I'm not paying almost 100 dollars for one workout within a 5 day period of having a plan with them, and so the manager, with an extremely snarky attitude, says it's going to continue being charged, and will go to collections.

This whole ordeal is absurd to me. When I'm in the area, this has been my gym for over 15 years, but this just left me with an extremely sour taste in my mouth that I can't get out. Hopefully this review helps someone that is considering a membership with them.

Their contract that I've never seen or know how to access, must be extremely predatory considering the confidence of the manager that they're going to continue charging me although I explicitly stated that I will no longer be going to the gym and I wanted to cancel.

Great gym with a great staff and management. I see a lot of negative reviews about certain things that could easily be fixed with just reporting it to the staff in the front. One thing I know personally is when I have an issue with something I report it to the manager and he personally goes and fixes it immediately. Only thing I could say is a con is it gets quite crowded and hours are limited on the weekends.(sucks cause I like to have a pump on before I go pump a date😘)
All in all, service is great, great equipment, building it self can use some fixing but isn’t fitness factory’s fault, more of a property owner thing.

Matt's a great guy personally I think he's one of the best ones there. Always encouraging both beginner lifters to experienced ones. I always see him working hard and he takes into account people's needs, from allergies to certain products to helping people around the gym. The rest of the staff are great too but Matt's the guy you want to propel your business upwards.

단점으로는 지저분합니다. 청소는 제대로 안되어 있고 장비에 녹과 먼지는 항상, 매번 볼 수 있습니다. 화장실은 항상 냄새나고 더러워요. 락커룸 바닥은 먼지가 굴러다닙니다.
피크타임에 가면 운동 못합니다. 어린 아이들을 뭐라 하는 건 아니지만 무리 지어 와서 한, 두 장비에 죽치고 운동합니다. 너무 많은 회원들이 운동하고 있어 기구 이용이 매우 어렵습니다.
페이퍼 타월은 다 떨어져 비어있는 날이 많고 고장난 장비는 수리하는데 너무 많은 시간이 걸립니다.
장비는 다양하지만 오래된 것들이 더 많은 비중을 차지하고 있고 손 닿는 곳에 녹은 쉽게 볼 수 있습니다.
비가 오면 천장에서 물도 떨어지고요.

제가 문제 해결 하기 위해 방문 했는데 제 회원증 사진에는 제 사진이 아닌 다른 남성의 사진으로 바뀌어 있었고 작년에 그만뒀다는 히스토리가 파일상 존재 하지 않기 때문에 돈 환불은 물론 12월 1일날 방문했는데 이번달 12월에 회원비 까지 내야 했습니다. 당일 최소가 안된다는 식으로 말하면서요. 그러고 장년에 그만 둔 사람한테 해결 방안으로는 두달 맴버쉽을 무료로 이용할수 있게 해주겠다고 딘 매니저가 그러는데 웃음 밖에 안나오더라고요.
그만 두실때 싸인 하시더라도 저처럼 취소를 안시키고 돈 계속 빼갈수 있으니깐 조심하세요!! 당하는건 저만으로 충분 합니다.

FRAUDSTERS - Stay AWAY!!! Listen to the other reviewers, your credit will be affected. Worst business I’ve ever come across. I was moving away from the area (across the country mind you) and requested a cancellation. The front desk folks said they have to submit it to management but shouldn’t be an issue. I waited weeks to hear back only to just be told NO. I called them multiple times to straighten out the matter, with them never returning my call. I, of course took this up with my financial institution, only to find out months later they took me to collections affecting my credit score.

These folks are fraudsters, con artists, swindlers and horrible business owners plain and simple. Please stay away, there are plenty of other gyms, don’t let these guys try and con you to steal your hard earned money.

This business needs to be investigated and SHUTDOWN ASAP!

If you value your credit score. Please stay away. They sent me to collections. I got docked 100 points because I canceled my membership early (mind you, I paid the whole balance off and tried to peacefully cancel it because I was moving.)

The gym is not taken care of. Staff is always giving a hard time. It’s impossible to work out there unless you go very early or right before closing time.

I absolutely despise their shady business practice of locking you in and making it difficult to get out. Plus they never called me back no matter how many times they “said” they would.

The worst gym in the area!!! Filled with middle schoolers with no respect or gym etiquette! Lazy staff! Dirty locker rooms and bathrooms. No ventilation. Wait time for a machine is about 40-60min because you have about 5 ppl working out together on every machine! You complain to the staff and all they say is “I know” you have one guy in there jumping around doing karate moves and break dancing. The other one racking up the leg press and leaving everything on. Kids yelling and fooling around. I mean come on guys. This gym is an embarrassment! I get it though you guys make the money off these kids that wouldn’t be accepted anywhere else. This has been my gym for the past 2 years and I have nothing but positive things to say. Yes it gets crowded and sometimes the facilities go down. The building is over 130 years old. The vibe is amazing and I have so many positive memories associated with this place. Employee Matt Munoz may be the best thing about this gym. It’s like he literally lives there! Such a great guy and his protein shakes are the absolute best. Management is fair and lenient and employees are very personable. One complaint is that it gets very very crowded from about 4-9 but i don’t go around then so I don’t even experience that. Love this gym, I’m going to miss it very much

I had a membership here for about a year. What bothered me are:
1) Shady parking area/ location.
2) Equipments are terrible. Running machines are broken, stair masters are broken but they don't want to fix it. Management's just lazy.
3) Shower sucks
4) Complex payment structure.

The bad:
- The water fountain in the weight room floor does not work
- some barbells are broken. One barbell was unusable. i found this to be especially dangerous because the weight was sliding left and right, back and forth
- some barbells have a piece missing, which throws off the weight distribution

- great set of dumbells

- there’s a platform for deadlifting

It’s a shame but I’m calling it quits on this gym I’ve been a member since 2012 a decade and these past few months almost a year it has been the worst it has ever been. Gyms should have a member capacity I understand there's always going to be traffic but this gym looks like a night club without a cover fee serving free drinks. Place is beyond capacity most times of the day. Fire hazard. Lots of kids on their phones and hanging out not training. No one racks weights or wipes of equipment. A lot of people wear jeans and street clothes. Some remove shoes and socks putting feet on weights and equipment. Tried speaking to the people at desk however they didn’t seem to care much at all. No one is there making sure people are performing gym etiquette or following gym rules. It’s the Wild West. Been a member since 2015 and am seriously thinking of changing gums.

Had a session of personal training with Nelly today, and what a guy! He knows exactly what you need to progress and grow and more importantly he really knows how to motivate you. I already love this gym as is, but he definitely makes it better. Today was one of the best workouts I've had in several years. Highly recommended.

Great gym with a large selection of cardio machines, weight machines and free weights. Only issue is the building itself which has frequent leaks on the third floor, and the flooring is coming up in several spots. These are easy fixes that should be addressed. I do highly recommend this gym though. The variety means a great workout.

-Edit: in the past 5 months since my first review, I'm happy to say there has not been a late opening, so I've changed the stars because otherwise this is a great gym with great staff, amazing group of regulars.

Would be a great gym if the staff didn’t keep showing up late. Nothing more infuriating than getting up in the crack of dawn, getting in preworkout, driving over and finding the doors locked 2 hours after opening time because someone forgot to show up. I don’t have time to sit around all day for the gym to open, got work in an hour and I’m just standing here fuming. Do better.

We had a tour to the gym, it looks good. Great juice bar. Amari was very accommodative.

They need more employees at the front desk. I have seen young kids leaving the juice bar because it was very busy. Employing an additional person will avoid such incidents.

!!!Caution!!! =>Just wanted to make people aware that if for any reason you leave this place, you got to be very careful and look at your bank. They keep on charging your card after the contract is over and after you cancel it!!!

I dont understand the negative feedback for this gym.

For $30/mo, its a no-frills, no-questions-asked gym. You come, you lift your weights, and you get out. It does the job.

It’s no equinox but for 10% of the cost it’s totally worth it.

Staff make it difficult to cancel your membership, requiring you to come in person. You cannot be mailed a form to sign, or email a form back.

Also this part is hilarious, they can choose to deny YOU cancelling YOUR membership?
Directly from their website:

"Cancellations are only a request, and are ultimately up to the discretion of management."

While common amongst gyms, I can only describe this practice as predatory and distasteful.

Beware. Total scam. They will not cancel your subscription no matter how many times you ask. My son has tried in person and via email per instruction on their website at Pal Park. They just ignored it. It's been 2 weeks and we can't seem to cancel.

All is very clean, personal is cleaning all the time, there is a lot of places to find gel sanitizer, and they have al signs for people to keep their 6 ft apart. Also they always are monitoring that people respect rules. Is safe to go and workout there. a lot of options for all kind of workouts. They also have a training room where people can go and do their own workout routine apart of everybody else. Also the personal that work there are very kind and respectful. Always willing to help. Billy and BK Kelly are very good. always willing to provide feedback, recommendations, motivating people. They are amazing.

I know the Saturday open 7:00 I was there 7 am but close there. I was wait 20 minutes out side and came back home the weather was very cold ! Usually not open ontime?
