Not sure why they have the cleaning staff mopping the treadmills at 10:30 am. Went to use the treadmill and it was wet and slippery. Also I think the membership price is too high. I pay $30 a month and I still can’t bring a guest. The price increased $5 for the new extension room which should be an option to upgrade. You get way more perks at planet fitness for $25 than $30 here.

Now a month after I wrote this review I go to use the stair master and they are mopping them 😭 all of them were wet I could not use it at all. And this is like 9-10 am when there are people working out. Then weeks later I’m by the weights and they have the cleaning staff mopping the floor. Literally mopping around peoples feet??????? I get cleaning but why not make them clean when it’s not as busy? I’m trying to grab my weights and the floor is squeaky wet. Pretty dangerous if people are carrying heavy weights

I’m very grateful for the welcoming environment of this gym in my town—it’s a space where people of all religions and cultures feel comfortable. I’ve been a member since the day this location opened, and it’s been amazing to see how the gym has grown and improved over the years. The new equipment is fantastic, and I truly appreciate how friendly the staff is, even greeting members with a smile at 6 AM!

This gym is relatively small, and it is even worse anytime after 3:30 pm, when there is limited space to use any machine or area for working out. What makes this place not so great is the lack of cleanliness in the men’s bathroom. Every time I have gone there, during different hours (6:30 am, 12:30 pm, 6:30 pm) the sinks and bathrooms are dirty. Management has failed to ensure a clean locker room and is quite disgusting. The sinks aren’t clean and there is no soap. This is a recurring issue as I go there daily, and there has been no changes. Also, some of the staff need better customer service training. At times, it feels as if they are doing you a favor when it fact, it is just providing customer service (please note, this is not the case for everyone, but of selected few staff members). Also, it is frustrating when I try to come to work out, and folks are taking videos of themselves working out and are blocking the way to access the weights or any machines.

Everyone should be very careful with the tricks of this gym. I signed up for a two-month personal training course, and no staff told me that it would automatically charge me when it was about to expire. When I discovered the automatic charge, I immediately called them and told them that I didn’t want to renew because I was moving. They promised to refund the money within half a month, but after waiting for half a month, they didn’t refund me. When I called them again, they told me they couldn’t refund the money! I think this is extremely unreasonable, and I can’t believe such things are still happening in 2025. This is a gym without morals! Please be very careful, everyone!

Found this gym on Google on a quick trip to Jersey. Could not have been more satisfied with the facility. Staff were personable, accommodating and helpful. Gym was meticulously temperature controlled and beyond adequately equipped with well maintained, newer equipment (I don’t think I found a single machine out of order). Not only are pieces well spaced, but they’re also thoughtfully organized so that you’re not having to walk across the gym floor to continue your workout in the traditional manner. Locker room is clean, with gender-separated, sauna and showers. Throw in the fact that the day pass for non-members is $10 (or $25 for three), and you’ve definitely got yourself a winner. I will return on future visits. Meanwhile, you should definitely check it out!

Today was charged for two months overdue plus late fees. I wasn’t notified of missed payments or anything wrong on my account. I checked in half a dozen times already and NO ONE said anything.

Also, this place is 50/50 with sanitary. I always have to wipe down the equipment before and after I use it. With the pandemic and simple gym protocols for cleaning, this is very poor.

I’ve been a member at Fitness Factory Somerset for over 3 years. I chose this option because I don’t like crowded gyms, although these last few months it has been overcrowded, an this is a small place.

On 08/23/22, when I scanned my member id, I got stopped at the entrance and was informed that:

1. My membership fee was increased to $24.99
2. They asked me if I wanted to cancel or continue with my membership. I said I was going to cancel as it makes no sense to pay more than the regular market price for a gym that is as crowded as all others.
3. That still I was going to be charged the annual fee. This is where I have a problem with, and made me feel irritated.

So I told Anthony DeSilva, the manager, that I was not renewing the membership and that I don’t agree in paying the annual fee. He replied saying that because I was cancelling my membership right now, I would have to, that if I had cancelled before, I wouldn’t have to pay for it. Really? I am cancelling my membership because you just informed me about the membership price increase. If Fitness Factory had informed all members in advance (like serious companies do) I would have done it before. I mean, they have our emails and phone #s, why should I be responsible for your lack of planning? I understand the price increase, I don’t understand you charging me for the annual fee. I know it’s only $25, but this is not about the $ amount, it’s about the fact that you are taking advantage of your members, leaving us without any choice but pay. This is a terrible business practice! I have filed today a complaint to the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs.

I've been attending Fitness Factory for almost a month now. I started my membership with having a great conversation with Ryan regarding plan options as well as babysitting for my two children. Every morning I come into the gym I get to see Ryan who is just AWESOME! I then drop my daughter off in the babysitting room with Ms.L who's just a sweetheart! I do my workouts with knowing I'm in a safe environment that's clean and well maintained. I dont have to worry about my daughter and son (when he does attend) because Ms.L is very attentive and patient and kind to all the children. My first time getting back to a gym since March and Fitness Factory is where there is nice new equipment, good safety protocols and great staff. I enjoy coming here.

Do not come to this facility. I loved my personal trainer but I have not been happy with the management for how they are dealing with personal trainees. They insisted on keeping sessions going even after the Governer shutdown the state. And they opened back up for training without the allowance of the state. And they insist on charging their clients regardless of if they get trained or not. On the phone, the manager tells me I can cancel but fails to mention anything about fees. And when I follow up, I am told it will cost me close to $900 to cancel. Worse of all, her response is you can either lose out on that money by cancelling, or pay the whole year's worth up front and then not worry about losing any sessions. I have no faith in this business. Please spare your time here. Or stick to the gym - no personal training where people are just trying to steal your money.

I love fitness factory it’s a great facility/equipment, clean, and staff who will go above and beyond for anyone at any level. Members are friendly. Jared and Denise ran the club from the beginning and they did a great job. My only complaint is rob the “fitness manager” and the girl/s he’s had under him. All I see him do is sit in his office and brings in food that stinks up the gym. Beyond that he isn’t friendly at all and the girl isn’t either; won’t look at you unless your spending money. If you want to grow your business, etiquette 101 is be friendly with your members and get to know them. He fails on both ends miserably.
