Great gym, excellent variety of equipment and classes to address strength, flexibility. Owner Josh is fantastic with excellent advice coaching for the total aspects of health and wellness, not only "lifting weights". Variety of classes offered and experience has been very good with all instructors...Miryam is a call out for excellence on core, yoga, and pilates. Super clean and equipment maintained well, if anything out of order, the staff quickly remediates. The gym is welcoming to all shapes, sizes, backgrounds and even better all have in common a commitment to being strong and healthier.

I’d been working out for years but wasn’t meeting my goals and had ongoing back pain. After talking to the staff at Gold’s Gym, I decided to work with Josh.

From our first meeting, Josh listened to my concerns and set up a plan to address my pain and goals. He explains the purpose of each exercise, which muscles we’re targeting, and how to do them safely. He also emphasizes nutrition and overall wellness, which has helped me make better choices.

After a couple of months, my back feels better than it has in years and I’m making real progress. Josh is knowledgeable, supportive, and truly cares about my success—he’s as much a coach as a trainer. I’m so glad I started training with him.

I have been a member at Gold's Gym Flanders for quite some time now. I have an extremely hectic schedule, so when I get to this gym it's usually at a different time each day. The atmosphere is always comforting, which makes me feel at ease, focused, and motivated during my workouts. This gym has become my second home. The wonderful family that owns this gym makes it literally feel like home. Every time I enter the gym, I am greeted by the owners and/or staff. When I leave the gym, the owners and/or staff always say goodbye. The owners and/or staff are professional, polite, and extremely respectful to all of their members. The gym is always super clean and the equipment is always maintained. There is always an updated variety of energy drinks, pre-workout drinks, hydration drinks, water, protein shakes, and protein bars. The customer service here is second to none. If there are any concerns they are handled immediately. I highly recommend this gym as I will be a lifetime member! Keep up the great work Gold's Gym Flanders. Thank you for being so dedicated to all of your members. We appreciate all of your hard work!

The gym has some of the friendliest staff in the business, has all the equipment you need for your workouts, and is next to a busy super market. If you’re looking for a good local gym with a large brand but a small business feel to it, you can’t go wrong with this one. Also the sun rises/sets are beautiful because of its location on top of a hill.

Sarah is the Worst and completely clueless 🙈 who relies on employees that do not have the intelligence on how to read a simple 🙄 report. These business owners need several classes on business ownership, customer service and general business skills.

I was approached by the owner stating that I hadn't paid. Which is absolutely absurd. I check monthly and ensure the payment. I called the company that handles payments and I was told that all my payments are up to date.

What bad customer service! The owner is to lazy to call and confirm her report. This is very suspicious and seems almost fraudulent - is this some type of scheme to charge me double?

I have now printed my payment history from their own Pay Service to show them that all items are paid.

I'm awaiting an apology. Thank You next. I'm moving on to another Personal Trainer and another gym that's new has more classes and proper management.

Ridiculous, the amount of financial contribution that I do and to be treated in such a way.

I go to the gym 🏋️‍♀️to distress. Not to be given more stress by the gym owner who can't do her job.

Stay away go to another gym. This place is running a scheme.

I have been going to this gym for many years. The owners are vested in this gym and are always on site They listen to any suggestions and concerns and make changes..They have plenty of machines and equipment available so no waiting . The gym and facilities are always clean and maintained. . They have a variety of group classes, excellent instructors and personal trainers. Lastly, the gym members here are a friendly bunch. Their positive support and friendship is a welcome addition to keep me coming back.

I have been a member at many other gyms, but I confess that Flanders Gold's Gym is absolutely the best! The facility is clean and provides all the equipment I require. The customer service, and front desk are the BEST... they always greet you by name and take time to answer any questions or concerns. I highly recommend this gym because they are not only professional... they treat you like family!

The two women that helped me sign up today are amazing people. They get 5 stars. I apologize if I forgot your names😦.
However, the facility itself is ok. Not too spectacular but ok. This Gold's Gym seems to be more focused on classes and cardio equipment and less on strength equipment. There is only a few racks present.
The facility is well maintained. I'm just concerned during peak times if the strength area will be congested. You'll have to modify your training or try to work in with someone.
The location is fantastic. I see myself getting a pump. Afterwards, do my shopping at Shoprite. Maybe go to Wild West City just for kicks.
Overall, the facility seems geared towards group classes and cardio machines. Strength equipment is lacking but you can get some serious work done here. Good facility in a great location. Hopefully the owner will take feedback and add in more strength equipment to make the gym more well rounded. 💪💪🍗

Great staff, clean equipment and overall can get a great workout in! Also I switched over because these people know how to run a gym and know how to treat people as people. With my old gym, I am at college now, I wouldn’t be able to workout but I was still get charged monthly. As a college student, 49 dollars a month is detrimental. Luckily the people here understand that and have worked with me so I am very grateful they can see the struggle. Love this gym!

Edited:Had a good experience while I was a member. But ....
Didn’t have a good experience when cancelling the membership after 1.5 yrs because of an injury. They took 2 months fees as a notice period charges!! 63$ for a cancellation!
So think twice before joining, that for any reason you want to cancel or exit even though you complete your contract you have to give 2 months “notice period”. Entry is motivating while exit is painful.

Much better experience since it has changed ownership. First off you can tell he is very engaged and working towards providing a good experience for its members. Equipment is kept up with, facility is clean and the staff is amazing. Definitely a noticeable difference.

The gym is outdated and small. The workers mislead me about the cancellation policy and now I am forced to pay for a membership I physically cannot use. ABC financial is the worst to deal with, and GOLDS forces their customers to do so.

UPDATE: The new GM called and fixed the issue. Since the new owners understand how to run a gym and be fair to their customers, I changed my rating.

I usually go to the Gold’s gym in Hackettstown, but recently, I wanted to switch and see the Gold’s in Flanders. After coming here for some time, I absolutely love it! The employees (Joann, Edyta and Susan) are so friendly and they make me feel right at home. It’s a SMALLER GYM but they’re much CLEANER, NEWER and the equipments I use are in GREAT CONDITION. There are under NEW OWNERS and recently, Josh and his family have been making changes and are only continuing to do so, including RENOVATIONS and NEW EQUIPMENTS. I’m excited to see the upcoming changes. I come here 6 days a week and it never gets crowded. I get a great session in and look forward to coming again.

People and staff are very friendly and classes are very well done. After 10 years of taking classes, I just had the best instructor EVER for a body pump class. Justine was perky, enthusiastic and gave you the tips and push you need to get through the workout. It would be 5 stars if they had rowing machines and newer spin bikes. Enjoying my membership so far.

People won't take this seriously given my username but I don't feel like signing out. Others have said this, but a 2 month cancellation fee is ridiculous, not even job require notice that long-term when you decide to quit. I know this will get a response from the owner that he/she understands my frustrations, but that's not saying much except saying nice words and accomplishing nothing else. It's simple peacemeal and nothing more.

But that's not even the start of it. One squat rack? Seriously? For a name like golds? Flat benches have j hooks slightly off center, so be careful not to hurt yourself on the unrack if you're a beginner given the slight unevenness.

Also, if you decide to get personal training here and you want to change the amount of times you want to receive training, make sure you tell them not to start billing you until the beginning of your next billing cycle. When I first started 2 years ago, I'd decided to increase my training sessions to twice a week, and I was billed on that very day, even though the package hadn't begun yet! And this was only 2 weeks after I'd just been billed for my last training cycle!!!!! Also, watch out for that unexpected annual membership bill you're not warned about and be prepared to lose another ~$30.

And lastly there was the ~$200 I had to wait 2 months to get back since I'd stopped receiving personal training and was assured I wouldn't get billed. Surprise surprise I was, and because this gym does all its finances through some outside company with terrible communication skills, I had to wait two months to get that back.

Do yourself a favor and find a gym (and I know they're rare) that wont make you shelf out over 100 bucks just to become a member. But if you want to sign up here for some reason, read the fine print of the obscure details of the contract you definitely won't remember once you decide to quit here in a year or so. I just can't get over that cancellation fee... Paying them 2 months for not even being there... I found a new home/better gym that doesn't deal such awful blows to my wallet (and actually has an abundance of great equipment that doesnt go out of service every other week!), and once i receive that last bill this month, I'm going to my bank and telling them to block any future payments this place might take out of my account - just in case, given the past track record of bad payment problems I'd experienced over my time here.

Love this place. I go back and forth between the Flanders and Hackettstown gyms. I have never had a problem with anything in either place.Staff is friendly and helpful. Equipment is kept in excellent shape. I enjoy going each day. Recently started going to Body Pump classes. Great class. Instructors keep us moving and motivated. Some days going to the gym is the best part of my day...

Absolutely outrageous, i just found out that i'm apparently under a 18 MONTHS agreement which i had no idea of. When i spoke to Paula, i felt like she was attacking me over the phone. this is absolutely unacceptable, they gave me incorrect information during my sign up with the agreement being on the computer screen facing the sales person not me, and having me sign on a pad. Now they're saying the agreement is shown in bold and clearly says 18 months. i will be taking this matter to court, they better be ready to prove their little trick in court. DO NOT use this facility they are a bunch of hustlers. What a shame.

Probably one of the worst gyms I have ever belonged to and here is why:
1) Equipment was not cared for properly. Machines especially treadmills were constantly "out of service" and there were rips on the pads. Specifically the L Seat which was ripped since I started there. Also, the spin bikes were never taken care of. A few were broken and never fixed. This was very disappointing considering with my membership I had to pay a maintenance fee on top of my monthly membership fee.
2) The class schedule had no variety and the instructors were unimpressive. Not all but a lot of them were.
3) Holy cancellation fee!!!! I have NEVER heard of a 60-DAY CANCELLATION NOTICE...I wish I had read the reviews of this gym on Google. I think it is funny that Golds responded to the earlier review saying the same thing that they would look into this but 4 months later, nothing has changed. I think 30 days would be fair but to make me pay two additional months after I want to leave is beyond ridiculous. And I agree that you have to jump through hoops to cancel. It's really not the way you want to send your customers off.
4) A majority of the staff is untrained and have a hard time answering questions. With my insurance, I get a small credit if I prove I attended a fitness facility for a certain amount of days per year and the staff had the hardest time finding out how to print out my schedule. They also had a hard time finding out information about my account when I requested to cancel my membership. It is important to note that Golds Gym does not handle the finances - ABC Financial does so a lot of time you have to contact them for information. Not Golds Gym.
5) The only positives I can say is the convenience of having a kids club was helpful and the hours were good. Also, I will miss having Shoprite so close to run and grab stuff after working out.

That's BS In an electronic and digital world we live in it should be instantaneous. Thanks for ripping me off. I actually loved the gym but it was to far out of the way of my commute and after trying to cancel I want everyone to know they suck. If I could give zero stars I would. Good luck with abc Financial trying to cancel, Total scam... Everyone should be able to walk into the gym and just say cancel my membership, instead they give you a card to call abc financial and jump through hoops to cancel and have to pay 2 extra months.
