This gym is absolutely top notch. Whether you’re a powerlifter, bodybuilder, athlete, or just training for general strength and fitness, this gym is for you.

Equipment is top of the line with calibrated plates and bars, multiple bench press / squat rack apparatuses, deadlift platforms, a huge variety of machines, chains/bands, a turf runway for sled pulls, and more. The facility is well lit, with an amazing sound system, and immaculate. The clientele take training seriously and are friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is the best I’ve experienced. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Iron Arena is an amazing gym, and it’s clear from the moment you walk in. The equipment is truly top-tier, everything is spotless, and the layout makes it easy to get your workout done efficiently because everything is exactly where it’s supposed to be. You can tell how much care went into the planning of the space and the equipment. Jason, the owner, is incredibly thoughtful and clearly committed to giving lifters the best possible experience. His attention to detail shows in every choice he’s made and in how well the entire gym is maintained.

The atmosphere is motivating, welcoming, and built for real training. It’s genuinely the best gym I’ve ever lifted in, and I’m grateful to have found a place that puts so much heart and effort into creating such a great environment.

The best gym I have seen or trained in my life!
Spotless, with best equipment for professional athletes.
A few levels above other gyms.
It is like driving an old rusted car or a brand new, expensive vehicle.
Once you have tried to work out at this gym, you would not want to go back to any other gym

Very nice gym and owner was willing to work with my schedule as I'm only in town for 2-3 months. Has all the things you look for in a club like comp racks and plates, as well as great accessory machines. Open 24/7 with access any time. Also has a nice chilling area with a couch TV and microwave.

So far I did squats and in the middle of bench. Just wanted to say that this is the best gym I have ever gone to in my 5 years of training. Equipment is top of the line and the variety of machines are perfect. Well done with everything and thank you for giving me the opportunity to lift here! I originally thought the no headphones would compromise my workout but 100% access to the speakers fully enhanced my workout. Best workout I’ve had in months aswell!!!

Love the gym the equipment is top tier. The way the owner has it set up is so smart. The equipment is kept really nice and taken care of. On top of that the owner is really friendly I definitely recommend going up there and trying it. It’s definitely worth the 1 and 20 min drive for me.

I had the opportunity to visit iron Arena Powerlifting Gym when. I was in NJ for a powerlifting competition. I must say this gym was amazing and very beautiful. Very clean and community friendly. Love the combo racks. They had any equipment you need when it comes to your individual training. If I lived in nJ this would be my home gym. Really enjoyed training there and I would recommend anyone that’s into strength training or even looking for a gym, try out iron Arena powerlifting. You’re gonna love it!

One of the best environments and gyms I’ve traveled to. Owner was incredibly prompt in responding to day pass request (note - you must email them before you come!) and the rules of this gym are exceptional. Very clean, super well organized and professionally run. Worth every bit of the day pass fee.

It’s also perfectly Westside friendly if you train conjugate. Proper chains, bands, and specialty bars.

Thanks for the great lift and see yall soon.

Quite possibly one of the best training facilities in the country.

I’ve had the fortune of training at some of the most renowned powerlifting and strength gyms across the U.S., and Iron Arena is right there at the top. As someone who owned a gym for a decade, I can confidently say that if I had to do it all over again, I’d build it just like this.

The equipment is top-tier and impeccably maintained. The members are focused, respectful, and serious about training. The owner is not only personable and knowledgeable, but truly lives the lifestyle he promotes, and it shows in the culture and energy of the gym.

It’s also spotless, easy to get to, and extremely well-priced for the value it delivers. My only complaint is that I’m not in town more often to train here.

If you’re serious about strength, this place is as real as it gets.

what a bad ass gym. Seriously, the equipment was top tier, looked brand new, I can tell the members and guest respect the equipment, very refreshing to see. I’m from Miami, and at my gym, the powerlifting section is so small, and mistreated. I’ve been to a bunch of cool powerlifting gyms across the state, but I gotta say, I think in my 2.5 years of doing this, it takes the cake! The aesthetic of the gym was amazing, plenty of combo racks, deadlift platforms and more than enough equipment to get accessories in as well. I know what gym I’ll be coming back to when I’m in the area.

I’ve been training at Iron Arena for a little over a year, and it’s hands down one of the best gyms I’ve ever been a part of. The environment, the equipment, and most importantly, the people, make this place feel like home. Jason genuinely cares about every lifter who walks through the door, and it shows in how the gym is run. Top-tier equipment, always clean, and constantly improving. Whether you’re a competitive powerlifter or just someone who loves training hard, I couldn’t recommend Iron Arena more.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Iron Arena Powerlifting Gym, and I have to say, it was an incredible experience. My friend and I reached out to the owner, Jason, for a day pass, and he was incredibly accommodating, making the process seamless and hassle-free.

From the moment I first walked into Iron Arena, I could tell that Jason, the owner, had organized something truly special. This is not just a gym—it’s an elite training facility supported by a welcoming and driven community. Jason has created an environment where excellence is the standard, and it’s reflected in every detail, from the top-quality equipment to the knowledgeable and disciplined members who embody the principles of effective training and hard work.

Every time I step into Iron Arena, I’m grateful to have access to such a well-maintained, top-tier facility. It has truly set the bar for what a gym should be, and I find myself judging every other gym against this standard. The high expectations and standards at Iron Arena create an environment that motivates you to improve, no matter where you are in your fitness journey.

Since joining, I’ve had the privilege of competing a few times, and the confidence and support I’ve received here are unlike anything I’ve experienced elsewhere. Jason and the Iron Arena community provide consistent lessons and guidance that have helped me make meaningful adjustments in my lifting journey, leading to noticeable progress and benefits.

If you’re looking for a gym that inspires discipline, growth, and continuous improvement while offering a supportive and knowledgeable community, Iron Arena is the place to be. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Got to opportunity to train at the elite Iron Arena Powerlifting gym on Sunday for the first time and I must say I was very impressed. The layout and the variety of equipment offered were top-tier. Facility is very cohesive and structured. Many places struggle maintaining a proper temperature where it is way too cold in the winter and too humid the summer. I switched to Iron Arena from a commercial gym last year and I can confidently say it was the best decision I have ever made in my strength training journey!

It's tough to find a gym in the area that compares to Iron Arena. It truly offers a great environment to lift in and gives you the ability to learn from experienced powerlifters. Everyone here is willing to help you out if you ask for it. My squat, bench, and deadlift all improved drastically in a year, and simply being apart of the gym culture that Iron Arena had definitely helped in that. The gym also has incredible equipment and is very well maintained.

If you are serious about strength training and getting stronger give this place a shot, you will not be disappointed!

★ 5

Are you serious about powerlifting? Look no further than this hidden gem—the ultimate haven for strength enthusiasts. The equipment here transcends what you’d find in a typical commercial gym. It’s like comparing night and day. Everything is meticulously designed and, dare I say, tight. Forget the notion that a barbell is just a barbell or that a 45-pound plate is merely a 45-pound plate. This place defies those assumptions.

As we age, injury prevention becomes paramount. To ensure I wasn’t compromising my squats, bench presses, and deadlifts, I booked a 2-hour technique session with Jason. Worth every penny! My high bar squat was decent, but I craved better posterior chain development through low bar squats. Jason’s personalized tweaks transformed my form from “okay” to rock-solid.

Now, let’s talk bench press. It’s always been my Achilles’ heel, but Jason—a bench press monster—guided me through drills that revolutionized my approach. After just 30 minutes, I was lifting more efficiently, engaging additional stabilizing muscles, and driving the bar with newfound confidence.

Surprisingly, my deadlift form needed the most work. Despite countless YouTube tutorials, nothing compared to hands-on coaching. Jason helped me recruit the right muscles, optimize leverages, and—most importantly—lift heavier weights safely.

My only regret? Not seeking this guidance sooner. I eagerly await the day when I can join this gym and take my training to the next level.

I am long overdue on this review. I joined Iron Arena back in 2017, and it is truly the very best facility out there for anyone that is serious about their goals and training, competitor or not. I was not a competitive powerlifter, and that didn’t make a difference. This where you will work hard and be surrounded by hardworking and supportive people - I still have friends from there. I recently moved to the Metro DC area, and there is simply nothing that compares.

Jason, the owner, is incredibly experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated to his athletes. The facility is unmatched, with the best lifting equipment available. He constantly upgrades his equipment and facility.

The members are dedicated to their training, and there is no shortage of motivation! The gym has a no-headphone policy, which is wonderful for encouraging people to assist each other with racking weights, watching, learning, and supporting each other.

If you plan to compete, there is no better coach or facility in NJ (or DC :). And if you don’t compete, you’ll be in the strongest and best shape of your life.

Just wishing Jason would open something here in DC !

This place is great.

There are very few true powerlifting gyms in the NYC/North Jersey area. Iron Arena is not only one of those few, but in my opinion, the best one.

First off, the equipment is top-tier. Eleiko, Rouge, EliteFTS, etc. Second, the membership rates are unbeatable considering the quality of the equipment. Third, it's spacious and there's almost always open deadlift platforms, benches, and squat racks.

Most importantly, however, is the environment. Everyone is friendly, willing to spot, willing to help load and unload weight unprompted.

Glad I found this place.

Cannot recommend this gym enough. No matter your skill level (beginner, intermediate, advanced, elite) at powerlifting, there is the right equipment for you (and this equipment is well maintained! and works! Can't say this about most powerlifting gyms...). The gym is always extremely clean. Even when it is busy hours, there is always a rack open to get your lift in. There is always parking very close. People are supportive. You can always get form help from fellow lifters. Great gym.

If your goal is to gain muscle in a relaxed environment. This is the place. Most gyms have limited equipment and 500 treadmills, this gym is NOT that place. It is a privilege to train at this gym, in this community and with Jason as my coach.
I’ve been in a lot of gyms accross the country and trained and coached by many people. This is hands down the best gym, coach and community Ive ever had. For the first time in my life I am strong AND healthy, I broke all of my PRs with no injuries to report of unlike my past. The gym is clean, has calibrated plates, the rules are fantastic and they reinforce forming bonds with each other. The people here are fun and strong AF, more than halff compete in powerlifting (!). I also work with Jason who is an experienced, wise, intuitive and robust-with-his-instructions coach. Which is exactly what I need, ie someone who’s gonna give me a detailed program, form and boundaries, otherwise I’m lost, weak and injured. He has an “inner game of tennis” approach to training, giving enough details regarding form to veer in the right direction but not too much to get bogged down with overthinking. His guidance reinstilled a sense of confidence and safety in me I thought I had lost. As a result I feel fully in love with powerlifting again and it is now an important, almost spiritual practice for me. (Yea yoga is cool for body awareness but have you tried pause squats with a few hundred pounds in your back?) If you’re looking to be serious about weight training and specifically powerlifting, there’s no second place in NJ.

What else can I say that hasn't been said. This is the best gym I've been to, probably the best gym in the state. This place has all the equipment you need. The best part of it is the community, unlike commercial gyms, you will not feel intimidated or judged cause everyone is friendly.
I began my journey here about a year ago, pretty much only able to lift the bar. A year on, I'm able to lift weights I never thought I would. This is all thanks to Jason, the owner, an expert of this sport. If you need help with your technique, programming or anything related to powerlifting, Jason is your man.

I don’t know where to begin. Iron Arena and Jason (the owner) are truly great. While I do not powerlift, I personal train with Jason. As someone w/ Cerebral Palsy, Jason has me doing things in the gym that I never thought I would be able to do in my life. That’s what Jason does. He pushes me to my limits every single time, while making me stronger in the process. His knowledge of powerlifting, and the know how to make someone strong is second to none. I trust Jason tremendously and wouldn’t go anywhere else. If you are serious about powerlifting, or just simply getting stronger, come see Jason and Iron Arena.

This gym blew away my expectations. The space was huge! It is fully loaded with all possible equipment, dumbbells, machines, anything you could want to use for a work out is here. Jason made it all possible! I had a membership to one of the mainstream gyms for years and this place is a serious upgrade. I am using the facility for overall fitness, not for powerlifting, and I definitely feel welcome. A major benefit is that you have access 24/7. I had no issues finding or using equipment. The facility is very organized with a great layout for workout and egress. Jason and the other members there at the time were helpful in any guidance and answering my questions. Also included at the facility is a locker area, bathrooms, lounge, and office. I love that there were no TVs in the gym area and no headphones allowed. Like many of the reviews listed, I can’t say enough good things about this gym. As someone who was frustrated by all the big box gyms in the general HudCo area, I was looking for a gym that was serious about it’s up-keep, the quality of the equipment, and somewhere where I could go and come as I please without having to wait 10 min for a squat rack. Iron Arena is that place and Jason does a fantastic job of maintaining the establishment & supervising his clientele; he’s a wealth of knowledge at that. Great gym, atmosphere, and people. I’m more of a quiet, team oriented guy and that’s exactly what I got here. I’ve never been to a gym that explicitly bans headphones, and honestly, that’s a great idea. I felt like I was part of a tight knit community despite being here for a short period of time. Unlike other gyms where everyone keeps to themselves, I felt like family here. Equipment is top notch. Can’t really beat eleiko racks, bars, plates, Ohio power bars, deadlift bars, and even a variety of other bodybuilding equipment. I guess my only gripe and nitpick is how one of the eleiko bars have definitely seen better days and the knurling around the rings has worn out.

Powerlifting training. You'll learn proper form and technique to be able to compete. Im still building more strength for my first meet, but I'm finally lifting properly.
Service- personalized program for your individual stage. You won't be coudled. You'll get the honest truth of where you are and what needs to be done.
Atmosphere - serious. People aren't going here to chit chat. Everyone is friendly enough. There is plenty of equipment and plenty of space so it doesn't feel cluttered.
Price- for the results and expertise, this is a bargain.
I go there twice a week for training, but because it's a little far, so I go elsewhere for my other days. well worth the drive for the training Jason offers. I go for a semi private, but it's perfect because of the necessary rest between sets. When it's your turn, you get the amount of attention you need. It's not like you work out in a group. They way he runs it, it feels more like a private session.
UPDATE 6/1/22:
Be prepared for new wardrobe. If you stick with the program, your body will change. None of my fitted shirts or slim pants fit anymore.

Before coming to Iron Arena, I was very hesitant in joining initially because of the price. But investing money into this gym definitely goes down as one of the best decisions I've made, and is worth every penny you pay. It being a 24-hr private facility is great because you don't ever have to worry about it closing down or rushing your session. If you're lucky, sometimes you even have the entire gym to yourself. Great equipment- you've got everything you need from combo racks, power racks, multiple power bars, eleiko bars, deadlift bars, kilo plates, steel plates, multiple machines, great music and even greater people. Doesn't matter if you're new to or familiar with lifting. Very friendly gym and very clean too. My favorite thing about this gym is the "no headphones" policy. Not only does it give you the opportunity to meet new people, but I feel it also helps you focus on your lifts a lot more since you're not jamming along to the beat of whatever music it is you're listening to. The owner, Jason Manenkoff is also great, very knowledgeable and quickly replies to your emails. He will tell you how it is, and always keeps it honest, which is why I think Jason would be great for anyone that is interested in being coached in powerlifting.

Just got back from a Technique Instruction class with Jason yesterday 3/9, and I have to say Jason’s attention to detail is astounding. When teaching the technique for the three main lifts (SBD), Jason puts out his years of experience on display as he goes into detail on not only how to perform the lifts safely, but how to perform them better and more efficiently so as to not leave kilos on the table.

His facility is also a reflection of Jason - professional and no-bs. He and his members function together as a team, always willing to support each other on heavy lifts while vocalizing queues to each member so they can perform their lifts to the maximum potential possible.

I can’t recommend enough. Thanks, Jason!

This review is long overdue. Joining Iron Arena 16 months ago is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this place. From the equipment, to the team atmosphere, to Jason’s programming, this facility is top notch. If you’re considering joining, I strongly encourage you to shoot Jason an email and give it a go. I wish I had done it sooner. Come ready to work. See ya there.

Iron Arena can help you learn to be your strongest, healthiest self! I’m an older gal and researched many gyms and types of workouts for us older folks. Weight Training is recommended for 40+ to maintain muscle tone and strength as we fight against the perils of aging . Don’t be intimidated by the professional weight lifters, as a beginner there was always an experienced gym goer to help me on my new journey. Feeling stronger and more balanced these days. I appreciate Jason Manenkoff and staff. Please do your health a solid and go for a visit.

Echoing all of the positive reviews below. I joined Iron Arena following a 6-month COVID hiatus from the gym (former Equinox NYC member), and could not have been happier to do so. Jason has built an incredible facility, with all of the equipment you could possibly need and a membership base that is friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. Whether you are looking to start on a powerlifting program, are a seasoned veteran looking for a well-equipped place to train, or just looking for an all-around great, local gym in which you can get into shape, I would highly recommend Iron Arena.

Best-in-class coach
Best-in-class facilities & equipment
Best-in-class atmosphere

Every time I go to Iron Arena I come out performing better than I did last time and knowing what to do next time to improve over today. That is always a good feeling and mindset for growth in this sport.

I knew something was off with my lifts so I got on Google to find a powerlifting coach. Stumbled across Iron Arena and its reviews so reached out to Jason about the technique session. The session has helped my lifts tremendously already.

Jason was a great instructor. Highly recommend!

Entering this gym after a covid-imposed break of over six months was like coming home. It's got all the iron "toys" needed to meet your goals---including several specialized racks and barbells--and you are surrounded by strong, focused lifters who create a supportive atmosphere. The facility is clean and never crowded, and I like being able to access at any time. I've already surpassed several personal benchmarks and am hoping to continue getting stronger.

Top notch equipment and great atmosphere. I’ve been strength training for 30 years and I learned more about powerlifting in a two hour session with Jason than I could have possibly imagined.

I've been weight training for nearly 30 years and just became interested competing in a powerlifting competition. I contacted Jason through his website about helping me with my form. He was very responsive and we set up a session the following week. The two hours he spent training me on the three basic lifts was transformative. My only regret is not going to see Jason months ago when this idea first popped into my head and wasting time from stuff I watched from "experts" on Youtube. Jason broke all the lifts down and tailored my form to my body and how I move. Can't wait to go back in 4-6 weeks for a tune up session. Anyone that is interested in the sport of powerlifting would benefit from time spent working with Jason.

If you're nearby and looking to get in a workout, I highly recommend you to visit Iron Arena. Owned by Jason Manenkoff, Iron Arena is one of the finest gyms around. Do not let "Powerlifting" in their name discourage you. Iron Arena is a fit for all! Either you're looking to become stronger or become a better you, then Iron Arena is for you!

Jason is an outstanding coach. He has coached/coaches world class athletes. Through the direction of Jason, I was able to achieve my most prestigious award which is 2019 IPF World Bench Press Bronze Medalist (66kg).
