Iron Jungle Fitness: More Than a Gym — It’s a Family

I’ve always been an active person and discovered CrossFit about 15 years ago — and I thought I’d seen it all. But joining Iron Jungle Fitness nearly 2½ years ago completely redefined what fitness means to me.

From day one, I could tell this place was something special. The energy, the coaching, the camaraderie — it’s electric. Every class pushes me to be stronger, faster, and more disciplined, but what really sets Iron Jungle apart is the people. It’s not just about lifting weights or crushing WODs; it’s about being surrounded by a community that genuinely supports and celebrates each other’s progress.

The coaches are top-notch — knowledgeable, motivating, and deeply invested in every member’s growth. The programming is smart and challenging, constantly evolving to keep you engaged and improving. Just started a few weeks ago- a friend from out of state recommended CrossFit as a great way to get back into workouts and not be overwhelmed with large classes or lines at the gym.

I did not know what to expect when I started but every member of the team has been friendly, easy to speak to and genuine. For someone who is used to working out alone at home or outside- they have made the class and gym experience something special.

They are amazing coaches and guides- they don’t force more on you but they do hold you to a great level of intensity that ensures a solid workout every time.

Additionally- they’re excellent with their communication; scheduling with their app is a breeze. Heather provides loads of helpful information beyond workouts- videos, nutrition etc.
I am very happy to be a part of such a great group.

From a coach's perspective: I recently left another gym for personal reasons (extremely poor communication and standards from the owners) and was nervous to enter a new environment to coach again. However, the head coaches and manager put their coaches through an intensive and integrated training programming to ensure new coaches become familiar with the flow and process of the gym. The coaches also ensure to introduce the new coaches (aka me) to every single class and member to provide a welcoming environment. I have been two weeks in and feel extremely supported and see the room for growth from myself as a member, as well as a coach. Members there are happy, motivated and excited to be there, setting their personal goals and pushing others towards their own goals.
All in all, this is truly a supportive environment, with knowledgeable trainers who can help athletes from beginner to advanced with their movements and scalable options. Whether you are looking to start your fitness journey or take your abilities even further, come visit!

As a new member of Iron Jungle, I cannot begin to tell you how nervous I was walking into the gym for the first few times. However, the coaches and members have been SO welcoming and kind that my nerves disappeared almost immediately. You will work HARD, no doubt, but the people make it so much fun. There are always jokes and laughter, and I am genuinely having a good time throughout the workouts. Everyone is supportive, they’ll take the time to help you understand the workout and positioning. When I first started CrossFit, I was 35 lbs. heavier. I have never been to a gym where coaches are so knowledgeable and passionate!! I have to move to a different gym unfortunately but I am forever grateful for the coaches here. I'll come back one day! I loved it here tbh and the coaches truly help you with form. They are always on time and they were so accommodating specially when I first started with a back injury. Because of the program here, I have strengthened my back muscles so much that the pain has subsided 90%. No joke. My kid still attends the kids CrossFit program and let me tell you how much strength he's gained here! Come here you won't regret it! The best CrossFit gym in the area for sure! If you want to get fit, just do it!! Sign up! Beginner or not, it doesn't matter. Stay consistent and you'll see results in literally 1 month. Heather is the manager and she's literally the best! Mike the owner is the sweetest! Thanks to Coach Ryan, Joyce, Sam, and Elena and all the coaches really for helping me be in the best shape of my life! Having never consistently worked out or been athletic, I had completed 98 personal training sessions and leveled up to Iron Jungle CrossFit at the recommendation of a current member. In the beginning, I was intimidated and nervous and didn't think I could do it. I joined anyway and keep showing up. The coaches are fantastic and really make you feel capable. The small class size allows for everyone do me doing the same workout but at different levels and no weirdness for being different. It's really personalized. The coaches and staff are THE BEST. Hard to give an exact review since we ended up not joining this gym, but I felt it necessary to leave a review of the intro process. We signed up for a “free intro” thinking this was an invitation to try a class. Said differently, try us out for “free”, to see if this gym is right for you. The “free intro” was actually just a chat with the manager and a tour of the gym. This is something you shouldn’t be charging for anyway, so the word “free” is misleading.

We had also asked about requirements for newcomers. We were told we would be charged for mandatory personal training to learn the CrossFit moves, upwards of $350 per person. The manager was accommodating with this requirement but refused to waive it.

This is a huge cost to sign up for a gym (basically a two month membership). Not to mention, without the option to try a class first. Additionally, you have like 15 classes a day, you couldn’t make one class a week a beginner class and lump that into the monthly membership? Unfortunately, this was the only thing holding us back from joining. I understand this isn’t a barrier for a lot of people, but I do think you could either waive this requirement or be upfront about your costs to join.

Responding here to the response below: we did reach out about pricing but never got anything in our email. Also this gym was exactly what we were looking for, but the management/vibe of the gym turned us off. Plus we’re not beginners. It was strictly having to pay to essentially “prove” we could do the workout. If we feel confident we can join without the fundamentals, this should be an option. If our experience turns out negative, that’s on us. Also I felt you were condescending in your gym recommendations, referring to a gym “well you know they’re smaller than us, but try them if you want”

When I walked into Hygge Fitness after moving to NJ about 10 months ago, I knew this place was special. I had tried almost all the other gyms in the area but nothing was sticking, so I scheduled time for the four one on one intro sessions at Hygge. Crossfit can be intimidating for beginners but the energy here was awesome, and the coaches have created an environment where I could safely and comfortably learn about strength at my own pace. Being in the gym is about so much more than the reps for me - it’s the place I look forward to challenging myself mentally and pushing my limits so I can face the rest of my day with a strong mindset. The great vibe at the gym gives me a template to stay disciplined with sleep, watch what I eat and not drink too much :) The programming is great; all i have to worry about is to show up on time and the coaches take it from there. I give this place a 10/10

I decided to give CrossFit a try after trying to stay in shape weight lifting like I had in my 20 & 30's (ultimate fail).
Its been 8 months since I initially joined and the results have been tremendous.
The Hygge staff has continually gone out of their way to help me to get acclimated to the workouts, and perform the exercises properly, especially in the beginning when I needed it most.
The workouts are challenging, but the results rewarding (strength, weight loss, & stamina).
Its a great facility to workout out in, with great people -- Highly recommend

I was a little tentative to start at CrossFit gym but I am so glad I did. The coaches here are outstanding. They are the secret to the success of this gym. They are energetic, uplifting, attentive but most importantly they are great teachers. They really know how to help you with your form while encouraging you to do your best. They come to each session with such great energy. I have worked out at multiple gyms and can honestly say this gym’s instructional staff is better then any other place I have been. The programming is also excellent and very purposeful using an 8 week cycle to work on specific movements. The other members are also very friendly and welcoming.

Hygge Fitness I would highly recommend. After having two major surgeries in 2019, the coaches knew my limits and helped me modify to still get the best workout! When covid hit, they adapted and created an awesome, motivating plan to keep us engaged. The coaches did daily check-ins to make sure we stayed on track, helped with dieting and just checking in to see how we were doing. This gym has really become my happy place and I've made good friends at Hygge over the years. I would highly recommend giving it a try and trust me you'll be hooked after your first class!

I was a non-believer. Refused to try Crossfit, said it was a cult, whatever. I was very, very wrong (I mean, it's a cult sort of but a good one). This place changed my life y'all. In 12 mos I lost 10lbs (8% of my body weight), 4.4% body fat, my arms look legit, and I saw an ab. I've also now dropped in to other boxes and while I always suspected how good we have it at Hygge, now I know for sure.

I started here because I reached some powerlifting goals and knew I needed coaching to continue properly. And coaching I got. Well planned, measurable, dedicated coaching; quarterly sessions, emails, advice and tons and tons of great training and support.

Tommy, Lauren, Dana, Russ: you guys have helped me change the course of my physical abilities. Crossfit (and your work) gave me control over my body and helped me rehab injuries. Nothing I do (lifting stuff at home, carrying luggage up stairs, anything heavy) is hard anymore and it's an incredible feeling to know you are truly strong and capable. I am a convert for life because of this crew. If you have doubts go in. These guys care so much about what they do and you as an individual. You will feel like you suck at first, until one day you can do a rope climb, a handstand pushup, a pullup, a ring dip, any of it. Nobody is great at everything and you're only there to compete against yourself. The members are friendly and supportive and I can't imagine a better experience.

I've been a member here for 5 months and not a day goes by that I don't love it. Everyone is friendly and there's none of that snootiness some people experience at other boxes. Crossfit Mount Laurel has been a second home for me since I've moved to the area 4 years ago. Not only did I get into the best shape of my life, I joined a community that made my gym experience an enjoyable one. I used to hate going to the gym but this place has an amazing program with fantastic coaches that truly care about your safety and successes. I love going to class and catching up with all the wonderful people that are fellow members. I can even bring my daughter with me and get a work out in while she plays in the kids room. I've been going to CFMTL for a little over two years now and besides home and work it's where I spend majority of my time. I had just moved nearby and had never done crossfit before, but wanted to try since my college roommate had been doing it ..and I have been hooked ever since. I have met some of my best friends at this gym and I love the relationships I've built with the coaches here- they have our best interests at heart and will always listen and give recommendations when a movement or lift doesn't feel right.

There are people of all different age ranges and at completely different skill levels which makes crossfit so awesome because everything is completely adaptable and modifiable depending on what your goal/comfort level is. Thanks to the coaches here I'm doing skills that I honestly never thought I could... and Tommy (the owner) is constantly keeping everything updated and replacing equipment as necessary.

I could probably write a novel about this place because I love it so much, but we call it our happy place for a reason and I would highly recommend it to anyone willing to give it a try.

It has been nearly 1 year since I first walked into CFML for my first class, and I could not be happier that I made that decision. For someone who had never done any sort of barbell or gymnastic work and was very intimidated by the idea of trying CrossFit (that was only for SUPER strong, SUPER fit people!), I quickly learned that I couldn't have been more wrong. Sure, there are incredibly fit guys and gals, but there are also "average" and "total beginner" types, too!
