I know there’s no staff available after hours but I’m considering revoking my membership because someone keeps connecting to the Bluetooth around 11pm-12am with profanity music and I can hardly listen to my music when I have my headphones… completely unacceptable.

Few gyms are 24 hrs. Its nice to go in the middle of the night when no one is around BUT so expensive. Was brought in by some social media post and then wasnt given the same deal. Was a member like 15 years ago (left for college) and they charge all that money from aaaaalll these people and they have the same stuff from way back then. The free weight dumbbells are falling apart. Machines are showing signs of wear and rust. When i had the instructor led program my instructor left and the guy replacing just seemed uninterested in motivating and leading. Rather just "if i do this course i get paid more" kinda feel. No one reads the contracts and thats how they get you but any sort of issues you have to take care of online and so far it hasnt been the smoothest. Definitely canceling

Cons: They don’t have a working water fountain, which, for a gym, is unacceptable to me. When it is working, the water is warm and there’s no water pressure. Vending machine drinks are overpriced. Cleanliness is mediocre to average.

Pros: Machines and weights are fine. It’s just an average gym. Unfortunately the best option around. The people who work out here are decent and won’t bother you. I don’t find people being loud with weights, disrespectful, or dirty. The manager (I think?), an Asian guy with a full sleeve tattoo, is very kind and always offers help with a smile.

Pretty much you’re paying more than you would pay at Crunch Fitness across route 18 just to have a gym which isn’t overrun by teenagers. I love that it’s 24 hours though. You can’t get in during off-hours without a smartphone, which is an accessibility issue they (as in Jersey Strong, not this specific branch) don’t have a solution for. At the very least imo they should let members use the InBody machine but even for that you have to have a more premium membership.

As somebody very skepical of gyms, I have never been more satisfied with a gym than what I am right now. The entire staff from management to trainers to the cleaning staff are always very kind and willing to lend a helpful hand. This place is a germaphobes dream since all the equipment is always clean and since there is always a member of the cleaning crew somewhere nearby with towels and cleaning spray!

Gym is pretty dirty, some of the equipment is worn. In the summer time it’s very muggy and hot. Owner needs to turn up the AC.

This gym is also crawling with early 20s frat bros. Lots of kids , young male adults crowding around. Not many females for some reason.

I had the worst customer service experience with this gym. You get a scripted response from their customer service through email, shows that they are only interested in charging your card, nothing else. They refused honor the doctor’s note as I am ill, as the note did not include exact words they are looking for and continued charging. They want the doctor to write something like you are permanently disabled and exact words should be written by a physician. As expected you will see their standard script response below this review. If Jersey Strong has treated customers (while they are customers) fairly they won't be leaving negative reviews. It's too late for me respond to your scripted response. It was a nightmare being a member dealing with your customer service.

This place and its management are a DISASTER.
Dirty, old facilities. All the classes are always cancelled. The staff is rude. The management cannot be reached, except via an on-line submission, which itself can only be completed if you remember your original login, contract number, the original phone number and credit card; they make it practically impossible to lodge a complaint or provide a suggestion.

The place is a real downer... When I go to the gym, I want to be motivated, excited, interested, to enjoy my time... the opposite is true at Jersey Strong. It seems like their mission is to ruin your day, your week, your life.. they want you to leave as miserable as they are...

I've been a member for years, but they seem determined to get everyone to quit the gym. They are cancelling almost all of there classes, and then charging $10 more per month so that they can extend hours to 24 hours per day. When the place is at its busiest there are maybe 20 - 30 people in the whole building.
I've called dozens of times. I submitted dozens of support tickets. I have really tried hard to tell them what is wrong and what they need to do to fix the problem, but no one cares and no one has a clue - the answer is always "you need to speak with someone else or submit support ticket".
And the COVID excuse is just an excuse, the Crunch and other gyms in the area are packed. Because they cater to and care about their members.

Girlfriend never went, tried to cancel within the first 20 daya, but had issues with app.. Called to cancel and they keep sending to app. So, now they are trying to charge me $300 for never going. They also never mention it takes 15 days to cancel so that free 20 days is really only 5. They make it so everything is automated online, basically meaning "sorry, the system is set up that way, we can't do anything from our end." Avoid them if you are unsure about trying a gym or not.

As a loyal customer (10 years), I must say that the polite, selfless and mature attitude I bring to the Jersey Strong Gym in East Brunswick is not reciprocated. Every year I pay in full and ask them to include the $160 annual fee. When I was informed that the annual fee was taken out leaving me short 2 months, I said I would pay the 2 months (same as the annual fee.) I was told to pay a $10 late fee. Not being aware of the financial proceedings, I challenged the fee. The manager who seems to have a personal problem with me threatened to terminate my membership and made no attempt to solve this small problem in a diplomatic matter. Quick to abuse his "power" I was spoken to like a bully would speak to a child in middle school. The manager totally lacks communication and customer service skills as well as an absent presence and focus on the gym. Equipment lacks quality (of which there is limited amount) and numbers on the weights are often missing. I am a very conscience member: I always wipe down the machines when finished and always return the weights to the rack; leaving the machine empty. If I'm on a machine and another member wants to use it, I simply go work on another machine and return to that machine later. Given the above mentioned, would you like to be treated with such disrespect?

So I think the “free” trial they claim is just to lure you to sign up for a membership immediately. They convince you you’re getting a good deal , say it’s free end up paying $33 and don’t even have membership for a month yet and get charged the 25th of the month which hasn’t even been a complete month. What was supposed to be 45 . They tell you that you have 10 days to pay but I get charged $60 . My app says it’s $100 for next month. What’s up with all this money being charged? I feel like all this info isn’t mentioned when you’re signing up . Also sales guy said the fitness diagnostic is only for members but I think they only do it to convince you to sign up for a personal trainer so they opt out. I think I’m paying for that and I haven’t even seen one. On top of all that which I haven’t even had for that long and I’m already getting issues, Jersey strong charged me $15 fee for tailgating when it was my first time going late and my spouse who is also a member phone was dead. I feel like I shouldn’t be charged that. I wasn’t even aware. The door says non members. We’re both paying for memberships. All this is ridiculous . Please do yourself a favor and sign up for LA instead . You can get all state access and $40 a month for you and your spouse . I really regret signing up because now it feels like I’m being overcharged and probably gonna keep getting billed different amounts . Why is it saying $100 for next month? Nobody explained any of this to me. I don’t like the misleading going on and they should also update hours on google maps because I’ve drove to different locations just to find out it’s closed and gas is expensive. I like the gym but I’m really disappointed with all this and I don’t think anybody really cares either after signing you up. I don’t feel strong , I feel weak and taken advantage of.

I have been a member for many years. On the plus side their equipment is reasonably maintained and they have good operating hours. On the negative side their customer service is a fraud. They will not directly deal with many issues, do not honor their contracts, direct you to bad urls, do not respond to email support questions, and their internal staff is helpless to provide any support, decisions or ability to resolve problems. It's always "This is a corporate decision and we can't help or get anyone to address your problems". I don't know what their competition is like. But, I would recommend researching other locations and then making your decision.

I also take the ONLY "Core" class given with Cara on Saturday mornings.
This years Power and Core routines are difficult, which is great.

even if you have the money and time, this gym is ok at best. but if you are someone who doesn’t have the money and time, this gym is the worst thing you can sign up for. i went to an appointment for i can get 10$ off my monthly payment but they ended up signing me up for the vip membership, which is $360 a month on top of the $60 monthly fee, without my knowledge. i literally cant afford that fee as a college student working a minimum wage job. name one working college student that is willing to pay $420 a month for services catered toward people who are older and has the money and time to waste on this overpriced gym. when i read the contract that the sales man told me to just sign and “not worry about”, it stated that, “You are entitled to a copy of this contract at the time you sign it. You may cancel this contract at any time before midnight of the third operating day after receiving a copy of this contract.” wow i wish they followed their own contract and actually gave me a physical copy or at least let me read it because that would’ve been so nice to know :)) thanks guys for taking all my money that i worked for!! i’m so happy that all my money gets to go to a gym membership that i literally have no need for instead of food, gas, rent, and my future!! thanks guys a lot fr!!!! i’m not the only one that got completely screwed over too, according to other reviews. i guess yall looove to screw over college students that obviously can’t afford the memberships themselves. i went there for i could finally try to make a positive change in my life, and i left feeling powerless and literally broke!!!!!!!!

Great experience at Jersey Strong East Brunswick. I froze my membership for some time and when I called to follow up about helping with my account and adding my sons… it was easy! The gym is clean and has all the equipment that I want/need. There’s even a section with boxing bags, which is not something I’ve seen in other gyms. It’s also not super crowded, which is really nice - I’ve never had to wait for equipment that I needed. I wish there was a water filter/refill station for refilling water bottles; there’s only one water fountain and it’s a little grimy, so I don’t want to use that. Also, I wish the website had been more upfront with the pricing and the different membership options. I signed up for a free trial online, but when I got there, was sold a membership before I could even test out the facility, and it wasn’t the greatest experience.

If you’re looking for consistency with classes, look elsewhere. After covid a lot of classes have been canceled altogether or only offered a couple of times a week during morning hours. And to add to it, they are canceled indiscriminately so you show up and there is no class to attend to.

Apparently, there are staff shortages but, my dues have remained the same. If I wanted to go to the gym and not utilize the classes, I would just join planet fitness for half the price.

I would also like to see them redesign the entire layout for better use of space. I feel like they could do less cardio equipment and maybe more specialized equipment for full body circuit training. Had a wonderful experience with East Brunswick location. It was my first time ever going to a Jersey strong gym. Iv had other gyms that I had attended. But jersey strong grab my attention. I had a great experience with Parsa showing me all around the gym and helping me sign up with my first time membership with Jersey strong. Parsa was very thorough and patient with me to discuss the membership. I was very satisfied with my outcome and him taking the time to help me out. Often times we don’t come across good customer care. But Parsa is the one!

Definitely recommend this gym to fitness junkies you won’t regret it and definitely ask for Parsa. 5 stars for sure in great customer care and over all experience. Thank you again!

I was on the call for 5 minutes and the automated system kept on taking me on the loop to verify my account. When I requested for customer rep the system would not push it through. When I called the gym, they were acting as if it was not their problem. At least LA fitness or Esporta on route 18 had better customer service even though their equipment was not working half the time.

Id put 0 stars but can't. Very outdated gym with nothing really special it's a basement gym with average or old workout equipments. There is no space for anything and DONT fall for their "promotion" because they will charge you MORE if you don't spend more a month prices. The salesmen was too pushy saying the "free" trial wouldnt include any promo so you had to pay. Menlo is way better is staff and equipment. And 24 hour feature is ok but people sneak in guests by 4-5 and overcrowd it. NOT WORTH IT

Tammy is a kick a$$ Fight instructor and I love her classes! I only wish she taught more classes in EB! EB could use a new stereo system or at least one that works. Today Tammy had to use her own tiny speakers just so we could have some music! Tammy is awesome though, even though the speakers weren't working she kicked our butts anyway. We love you Tammy!!! Dana's 5:45am Fight Class is another favorite of mine. It may be early by Dana keeps us going. I only wish there were more early classes in EB!

The best part about this gym is the 24 hour convenience. Other than that, the equipment is all old and outdated (relatively certain it’s the same equipment from when it was WOW and I came here ten years ago). That being said, it’s all relatively clean and functioning.
Zero effort is made to get people to re-rack and clean up after themselves - and no one really cleans up weights. Which can be super annoying.
Late afternoons and late evenings there are a bunch of females that workout in sports bras and men that work out without shirts on and don’t wipe down equipment afterwards, which is definitely off-putting.
Peak times usually aren’t terribly crowded, which is a huge plus.
Also worth noting is that there are a total of three 2.5 lbs plates for the entire gym - despite multiple requests to order more. - I was charged a $106 yearly gym fee - where did it go? No idea.

I am so happy didn't pay anything yet.
This gym is a disaster! Super dirty! I left something on a treadmill and it was there for 2 weeks! No one cleaned up! They are asking to wipe the equipment after yourself and I think that's the only way they are cleaning it! I was on the trial for 3 weeks and NEVER was able to get to any group class. All of them was canceled.

I updated this from 4 stars to 1. I used to be a member here before covid hit and because my father is 86, I chose to stay away. My girlfriend called to inquire about a promo they sent today and to inquire about rates and she was told that "if you are looking for rates you got from before covid, then this is not the gym for you". It's unfortunate because I had been a member for five years prior to Covid and was looking forward to heading back to Work out world in east brunswick. But yeah, that's just beyond comprehensible that somebody would speak to a customer that way in any business. L.A. Fitness or Crunch, here I come.

Very greedy about the fees.They made you sign a contract without telling all the "hidden" details.if you choose to cancel the membership, you owe them the money for the whole year,including the annual fees they take just after couple of months.

They don't care about you if you have a concern, the easiest way they tell people is to write an email.

I have the JS + membership and primarily go to the East Brunswick location. The facilities are clean and the people who work there are very polite. The people who go to this location are respectful as well. I have Shanin as my personal coach and working with her has been fantastic. She’s very attentive to setting up each phase and welcomes feedback. She’s invested in my progress and gives advice that help me reach my goals.

I must say Billy the trainer (William Maldonado) has been awesome, professional, understanding, very knowledgeable and effective in his interaction towards me. He sets good standards expectations and is result driven. He does extremely well with his timing, very accommodating and works per your schedule whenever possible. I would recommend Billy to anyone looking to make a difference in their lifestyle.

Terrible. I received calls from debt collectors after canceling my membership in person months prior.
I called the gym immediately after and they told me I can’t cancel in person, I have to do it online. Hang up and I go online, my account is blocked being I had debts.

I call AGAIN, they tell me to sign back up in order to cancel. I tell them I’ll pay the debt so long as they cancel my membership and I DO NOT sign up. I pay the debt. I then go online to cancel my account “the correct way”. Still can’t get in. I call back and they say “oh it’s been canceled”.

I was a member at Jersey Strong with my daughter and I cancelled our membership and my personal training. They charged me for an extra month for both. I was assured that I would receive the money back for the personal training and they argued that I still had to pay the extra month membership. Seven months later their corporate tells me I’m not entitled to my money back for the personal training either. So I’m out a month for 2 people personal training and membership all because their staff is incompetent and did not inform me correctly. Apparently this has happened to other people as well. Basically it seems like a scam. Never mind my personal opinion about the personal training. I have been going to a chiropractor ever since. I will add that this does not represent all the trainers at the facility. If you are looking for a gym find another one with ethics.

I signed up for personal training season for 1 month in September 2020. Due to my work schedule I asked them to not continue for the next month but they still charged me for one more month. At that time they told me to provide the refund but it’s been 3 to 4 months and I have not received refund for $440 for personal training sessions. I have submitted the ticket also and tried to reach out to the gym by calls and personal visits but no one is replying on this issue.

Please do not pay by credit card else they will keep charging.

As requested I created the ticket and they are saying your program will get canceled but they did not talk anything about my refund. Please review the case and detail and reply

Went in to question the yearly maintenance fee they charged while the gym was closed for the year due to COVID. I was told to go online and request a refund by submitting a ticket which I did and it was denied stating its part of the contract and to keep the account active. They are charging yearly maintenance fee for year 2020 and gym was mostly closed for this year and when i told them to refund yearly fees they said its fees to keep your account active are you serious i have to pay yearly fees to keep my account active. Most of car insurance companies gave credits because of covid situation and these guys are charging yearly maintenance fees. They dont have corporate phone number to discuss issues everything is through email only. They have lot of clauses and hidden fees in their contract.

been going here for almost a year now and I do relatively enjoy it. Almost 99% of the time its clean and the selection of equipment is exactly what I need to accommodate any workout i want to do. Only downside is that its extremely packed during the week and you can rarely get on the squat rack when someone goes in there for an hour or two at a time. I usually just go over to the Old Bridge location for leg day since they aren't as busy.

If I could give a 0 star review, I would. I won't mention any names because unlike the people that signed me up for everything, I want to be considerate. I signed up when they had the promotion giving out Amazon gift cards. The person who helped me sign up is someone I see every time at the gym and after a few text messages, he completely ignored me so I was on my own to contact the company to give me the gift cards I was owed, this process took almost 2 months. I was also told that I'd be charged the monthly fee for 11 months and the 12th month would only be the yearly fee. 3 months after signing up, I was charged the yearly and the monthly and of course they did nothing about it and not even an apology. Oh and I wasn't ever told that it'd be a 12 month contract. I specifically asked if I could cancel at any time my membership and my personal training. The manager who signed me up for personal training even told me specifically that I'd be able to cancel at any time. I was never once told that anything would be a contract. But here I am now paying $160 a month for something I barely have time to go to. It also got to the point where I had to send my personal trainer messages to get him to make my moneys worth since we were spending more than half the time just setting up the equipment, which once again I wasn't informed about. If I could go back in time and tell myself to sign up for Planet Fitness down the street I would, and I'd be much more glad paying $160 a month for a time machine doing that. It sucks how Jersey strong trains their employees to scam you and once you start bringing these things up to them in person, they no longer care about you. They're here to take your money, not to help you get strong. Go elsewhere, you won't regret it.

Been hunting around for a gym lately, so decided to give this one a try. Met with Paul, he gave me a great and easy experience with signing up. He really took the time and adressed all my concerns.
