Gym WAS good but still giving pain for refunds.
So in the middle of December these guys transferred our membership to crunch fitness.
Yearly fees got deducted In November and they gave 5 days to cancel the membership if needed. I did try to cancel the membership through ABC Fitness (Worst customer care). They took almost a 2 weeks to cancel the membership. Meanwhile, Jersey strong representative takes 2 weeks just to say, that refund cannot be processed as they don't have card on my account!! How were you able to even deduct monthly and yearly charges earlier? I am seriously disappointed with the management of this gym!

I felt so uncomfortable there, I got the promotional price of $20 I can’t spend more than that at the moment, I was told my trainer comes with my membership automatically and when I say I don’t want a trainer they’ll be charging me something else they told me if I cancel the memebership after 15 days they’ll only charge me $100 for cancellation.
I was called so many times on my personal phone, texted and bothered to get a trainer. So I went in and they did a bmi test, then tell me that the trainer is an additional $300, I’m like wait but I was told it was part of my membership, the person tells me no you have to pay $300. These charges just keep going up and up at This gym.
I ended up canceling it, with them charging me $200 to cancel it. It’s just lie after lie.

Mind you there’s no shower in there, everything’s a mess, and you cant bring a guest in.
There’s plenty of other gyms that I will be looking into that I can bring my guest with me, and have a shower and doesn’t have scamming prices.

Not a good gym and is not worth the monthly rate. I only go there because I signed up on a promotion so it's reduced price and all I can afford at the moment. The wifi connection is HORRIBLE, the ventilation down there is no good and gets very hot, it's dark and gloomy, and most importantly, nothing is ever put back into its proper place!! The people working there don't help organize the weights so every time I'm there, there are always sets of dumbbells missing and barbells in the women's area are always left out messily in the middle of the mats. I don't think they have enough staff anymore which might be why it's always so messy? There are also just not enough lighter weight dumbbells. Not worth your money.

The first gym I ever joined exceeded my expectations from the start. The staff is exceptionally professional, consistently greeting members with a friendly demeanor. The equipment is well-maintained, rarely disorganized or out of order. My only recommendation for improvement would be to increase the availability of kettlebells by adding two of each weight, similar to the dumbbell selection.

I checked out Jersey Strong gym at the Menlo Park Mall today, and it was a pretty cool experience. Eric, one of the managers, showed me around and gave me a thorough tour of the place. He was super helpful, answering all my questions and setting me up with a great membership deal. The gym is really spacious, which is awesome, especially since I went around 5 PM when it's usually packed at most gyms. Despite the peak time, I didn’t have to wait for any of the machines or anything. They've got a ton of free weights, going up to around 130 lbs, and plenty of other machine equipment too.

What I really liked about Jersey Strong is its underground, rustic vibe. It’s different from other gyms I've been to like NYSC, Planet Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, and some local ones. It just has a dope, unique feel to it. I’m looking forward to working out here more, and I really appreciate Eric for making the whole process easy and enjoyable. If you're on the lookout for a new gym, definitely check out Jersey Strong at Menlo Park Mall for a day.

The gym in East Brunswick is very shady! They're running a scam and that is shameful. My wife went to the site with my daughter and told them she was interested in joining. They told her it was going to be about 20.00 per month for each member. There was no mention of a yearly membership fee. I checked our banking statement and there was 2 transactions for $90.61. She called them to complain and they told her it was yearly membership fees. My wife told them that if she would've know there was a yearly membership fee she would not have joined. She informed them that she wanted to cancel because they were very misleading. Well, they informed her that there is a $106.00 cancelation fee for each. We strongly suggest to stay clear of this gym. They're running a shameful, misleading, underhanded operation. It's a shame they are stooping this low and tricking consumers. We will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau!

Gym is okay. But
1. No network in the basement. Wifi is very bad, requires you to login everyday instead of auto connecting. Music and workout apps stop working.
2. The group training lady on Wednesday is obnoxiously loud. She uses a microphone and speaker, and screams while using them. If you are screaming already, why do you need a speaker? I can hear her annoying “whooow”, “lets go” through noise cancellation.
3. If you don’t take headphones to gym, Monday to Thursday playlist is horrible. Not a single recent song. Music is from weird sound-cloud playlist, clearly pleasing one person, who’s playing it. Friday playlists are good.
4. Gym is not 24/7 despite increasing the membership fee, claiming to bring new benefits, including 24/7 access. Their excuse to not making the gym 24/7: its related to mall hours. Their excuse to not waive the membership fee increment: its by the management that also includes other jerseys strong gyms which are not in malls. So in conclusion, pay us more but you won’t get 24/7.
5. A group of broccoli hair teenagers spends way too much time with the speedbag, causing unnecessary punching noise for atleast 20 minutes. Pretty sure they’re doing it for attention and not capable of actually doing kickboxing or mma. Just for noise.

Horrible management system!!! My husband and I paid upfront fees $53 each and in-body scanned to get the promotion rates in January but my husband has been over charged every months. HQ denied to lower the rate. Now, we are stuck with the membership because we just got charged annual fees as well. Management said they can’t solve this issue. The only suggestion was cancel the membership and re-sign up. maybe get charge another annual fee lol WOW. No one can fix this issue haha 😂 very professional

Don't fall for the scam that says "FREE" trial, I wasted an hour of my time just to be told that I had to pay $599 for the "FREE" trial. The 6 week "FREE" trial is NOT FREE- Their verizon of free is that they give u an piece of paper with workout that you do on your OWN.

The 21 day free trial on their website is NOT FREE. I asked them at the gym today and representative said you have to still pay for it. I asked call 4 times prior to going and made sure there was no cost but they basically are scamming you. I had told multiple people about this but I made sure they won't go here and spread the word it's not free.

Jersey Strong at Medlo Mall is promising to be an awesome gym. It is very spacious. There’s lots of equipment here to work out, and most importantly, it is clean. Music was awesome. I did not see a single machine out of service. Came in on the weekend, and after a brief workout, I was sold. Misleading advertising and unprofessional management. My recent visit to Jersey Strong was far from satisfactory. The so-called "free 21 day pass" advertised by the gym turned out to be a bait-and-switch tactic to attract customers. This was disappointing and deceptive. The manager, Carlos, was unprofessional and condescending. His attitude did not align with the welcoming and supportive environment that a gym should offer. His unprofessional behavior and insensitivity made me feel belittled and financially judged during my visit. In light of these experiences, I cannot recommend this gym. The misleading advertising and unprofessional management overshadow any potential benefits the gym might provide.

There are hidden fees at the gym! Explicitly asked about cancellation and joining fees and he said there’s none, but when I had to cancel the membership as I’m only in town for a month, they charged a “deferred enrollment fee” as cancellation fee. They said that my membership would expire in a year and that they could not charge me after I did not re-register. Worst gym I have ever went to. If I could rate it no stars, I honestly would.
Some people on the staff are nice, however you can tell some are just trying to push sales onto you. When I first signed up, I told the worker that I just needed to gym to train at and decided to use this gym because at the time, it was in the same building I worked. They kept trying to push me to sign up for other things and kept trying to make me spend more. I get it, the whole point is to sell as much as you can, but come on. Once someone says no, leave them alone. What really pushed me to stop going here is the fact that I was allowed to bring 1 guest for multiple times throughout the year since I had the VIP membership. One day, they pull over my guest w/o me to the side and said since he already had a membership, I can’t bring him as my guest. It would have been appropriate to receive some sort of warning beforehand. Nope. No warning whatsoever. I tried looking up the rules but didn’t find anything on who I could bring as a guest. Even before finding out he was a guest, they kept trying to force him to sign up for a membership. I’ve brought him with me to this gym MULTIPLE times and had no issues. No one said anything leading up to that point.
There’s also so many problems with the equipment - like racks always being broken and or weights having damage done to them. Not to mention that it floods because of damaged pipes, and honestly a gym in the basement does not seem sanitary. I’m glad that I cancelled my membership to this gym.

This gym is awesome. Huge space filled with plenty of equipment and doesn’t get overly crowded. Gym etiquette is great, facility is very clean. Hugo was wonderful and made signing up for the gym easy. The employees at the front desk are kind, as well.
Overall, this would be the PERFECT gym if the hours were extended a bit more.

Wonderful gym. Has all the equipment you need and never crowded to the point of rubbing elbows. Their Manager Carlos is the greatest. Very understanding and answers all questions. I rejoined Jersey Strong in Feb 2023 after a gap of more than 2 years. Hugo went through all different levels of memberships and was a big help. So far, I am liking it. I wish they were open 24 hours at Menlo Park location. If not, it would be great if they stay open till 10 PM on weekdays and 7 PM on weekend.

I’ve been doing personal training with Miguel since the beginning of October.
When I started I was sick with Lyme disease, depressed and unmotivated. I already see amazing results in my figure (see ya later back fat), my energy, and motivation. He pushes you without being mean and really teaches you how to work out with the proper form. He always greets me with happy vibes and I leave feeling accomplished. I highly highly recommend training with Miguel💪🏼😬

The good trainer got promoted to gym manager and all that was left were young inexperienced trainers. When I asked for someone equivalent I was given another young trainer. Then when I asked to stop my training for a bit because I no longer felt like it was working for me it was a huge deal to cancel and I ended up losing almost $500+ dollars. Miguel asked me to write about my experience with him. And I did. Until he left me hanging high,dry and down $500 as a manager. When I reached out to him directly I got a sales pitch that I should sign back up for a contract. Disappointing all around. Will not sign up with a gym unless I know there are more than one experienced trainers on the team :(
