This is easily the dirtiest LA Fitness I’ve been to. Half the StairMasters are always broken, and the whole place just feels grimy. The bathrooms and sauna are consistently filthy, which is unacceptable for a gym. It’s clear there’s a serious lack of regular cleaning and maintenance. They need more staff focused on upkeep because this location has a lot of potential, but right now it’s just poorly managed.

This LA Fitness in Clark is a complete disaster.

Every single day it’s the same story: no water in the bathrooms, no soap in the showers, no soap at the sinks—how does a gym this big fail at the most basic level of hygiene? It’s embarrassing.

The machines are falling apart, literally. The place looks like nobody has cared in years. I even got hit by the calf machine because it’s so neglected and unstable. That’s how unsafe this gym is.

Management clearly doesn’t care. The whole place feels abandoned, dirty, and flat-out unprofessional. For what they charge, this gym is a complete joke. If you’re thinking of joining, do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.

This gym is an absolute disgrace. They literally start painting and spraying chlorine while members are inside breathing it all in. It’s dangerous, irresponsible, and shows a complete lack of common sense. On top of that, they ignore their own opening and closing hours like rules don’t apply to them. Members are forced to deal with toxic fumes, noise, and staff who clearly don’t care about anyone’s safety or experience. -Majority of TVs don't work on cardio equipment.
-Sunday afternoon today, of 6 sinks in the mens locker room, none had soap and only 2 worked. Sinks and counters dirty. There was a male custodian that I pointed this out to, and he didn't event respond.

I’m so tired of coming to this location and having to be asked to evacuate the pool for “scheduled cleaning”. It’s so inconvenient and inconsiderate of people’s time.

Why can’t there be proper communication of when the pool will be closed?

Why can’t customers get emails or app notifications?

Why can’t we be informed upon checking in they the pool will be closed at the specified time??

It’s always random between 7pm - 9pm on a weekday and the staff are unapologetic about it which really adds insult to injury.

This happens regularly here, in addition to the fact that the hot tub is never consistently HOT! So over it, I am not a happy customer.

This location needs to do better and the management needs to address this issue immediately.

This is a very bad place to sign up with. I was overseas and called to cancel my membership because I was not going to come back soon.The truth of the matter is they won’t allow cancellation without me physically being there. They end up charging 10 months plus another annual membership fees. THIS IS PURE ROBBERIES. Today I had successfully cancelled it and asked why I couldn’t cancel my membership. Their response is now “yeah it’s possible now since 3 weeks.”
Avoid them at all costs, I don’t care about getting a dime back from them but I care about the people that already sign up and the ones yet to do so.

Possibly the worst gym I’ve ever been to in my many years of working out. Not a single dumbbell where it’s supposed to be, weights and cable attachments scattered around the gym, and people walking around with their shirts off and no regard for others. An obvious lack of respect for the gym and the owners don't seem to care. Not even close to worth the $40 a month, heck, you couldn’t pay ME $40 a month to go there. I’ve had a great experience at this LA Fitness location. The gym is spacious, well-equipped, and has everything you need from a wide variety of machines and free weights to a pool, sauna, and group classes. The facility is clean, organized, and it’s clear the staff cares about maintaining a good environment for members.

Special shoutout to Sonny he’s always professional, approachable, and genuinely helpful. Whether it’s answering questions, making sure equipment is in order, or just bringing good energy to the gym, Sonny goes above and beyond. Having staff like him really makes the gym stand out and creates a welcoming atmosphere.

I'm a member here for years. 5 minutes after I left the other day I called to inform them I left my Bluetooth on the sink in the locker room. They informed me that they were the only one on staff and couldn't walk away from the front. Because this megagym can't properly staff their gym, I have to come out of pocket over 200$

This isn't the cheapest gym, they can afford 10 trainers, but not 1 extra person in the front just in case someone needs to walk away for 30 seconds.

Horrible experience at LA FITNESS in Clark, NJ. I walked in with my twin boys. I scanned in, and Naldy indicated that my pass covered one guest, and I have brought my twin boys with me frequently with no issue. I asked to speak with a manager. Naldy indicated that she was a manager. I asked for someone higher up, and she directed me to Randy. I went over to speak with Randy and explained the situation, and he said one of the twins can’t come in because the insurance does not cover them. I retorted by saying he is on my insurance. There was some back and forth, and I asked for the policy. When I read the area Randy highlighted, it mentioned a waiver for 13-year-olds. I proceeded to say, Well, I can sign the waiver. Randy mentioned I can’t do that. I said well what you mentioned prior to me requesting to see the policy and what you are saying now are two different things. He then went on and said I am not going back and forth with you. I retorted We are having a discussion. He then went on to explain how he is the senior manager, has his own business, and makes $400,000 in sales. All of this condescending nonsense was baseless and unnecessary. Moreover, it had no relevance to the conversation. He then said I am not speaking to you. I asked for his name, and he said Randy. I said last name? He said I am not giving you anything. Look at the website. I told Randy that there are people in leadership who give a company a bad name, and you are one of them. To Naldy’s credit, she remained professional and courteous throughout my interactions. Randy was rude, dismissive, and condescending towards me.

As someone who's been a proud member since your grand opening in 2015, I feel invested enough in this place to share some honest (and hopefully helpful) feedback.

For the past several years, I've noticed a steady decline in overall cleanliness and member etiquette that’s really affecting the experience. Here are some specific concerns:

1. General Cleanliness – The gym floor, sauna, and locker rooms have all seen better days. A bit more attention here would go a long way. Did you change your cleaning company? If so, you need to change it again and/or do not try to save $ on cleaning....

2. Paper Towels – They’ve become a rare commodity. I feel like I need to win the gym lottery just to find one! Regularly restocking them should be a basic standard.

3. Shower Curtains – After nine faithful years of privacy, they're suddenly gone. Was this a cost-saving measure? Because now, showering feels more like a team sport. Not everyone signed up for that kind of bonding!

4. Sauna Etiquette – Please consider enforcing a “no speakers” policy. It's a shared space—what's relaxing to one person may be noise to another. Headphones exist for a reason, and everyone deserves a peaceful sauna session.

5. No Laundry in the Sauna – It’s a sauna, not a drying rack. Let’s keep the sweaty gym gear out of there. Hot air + old sweat = not a winning combo.

6. Appreciate sanitizing towels around gym - that is big plus, that is why you are getting 2 stars.

7. What is going on with jacuzzi? For months it is not working, then re-opens for couple weeks then again out of order!!!

I genuinely love this place and want to see it thrive. These things may seem small, but they really impact the overall atmosphere. I hope this feedback helps bring some positive change!

I have been working out for 52 years and this is the worst by far when considering how the machines are always breaking down and it takes forever to fix them, and when they do, it is never really fixed. The machines are ten years old and need to be replaced. But still, if the current machines were tended to properly, there would be less problems overall. The personal training services are more than worth the investment!

I am hesitant to write this review solely for the fact that I don’t want my amazing trainer to become so popular that booking a session with him is as cut throat as buying concert tickets online, but Chase truly deserves the credit. He has helped me stay motivated and constantly modifies exercises to fit my abilities while helping me progress toward my goals.

When I started my journey the gym was intimidating, but now I can walk into a session with Chase and say I need help with any muscle group or voice any pain and on the spot he will build me a plan to work those muscles or rehab my joints. More importantly he has taught me how to feel comfortable working out by myself and now only need one session a week with three days on my own using his plan.

I go out of convenience, but the place is filthy. The pool is filthy, the hot tub is ALWAYS nasty (bubbles are black and dead skin cells floating around), because they don’t empty the pool frequently enough to clean it, just keep adding chemicals. The equipment is always broken. There isn’t a lot of equipment as is (1-2 of each kind of machine). Lastly, the “juice bar” sucks! After over a year, they finally were honest that their juicer was broke with no clear intention of replacing it despite being in a high volume establishment and clearly being able to afford to replace, but choosing not to. Very low budget to me. Otherwise, it’s your typical gym where you have people coming to sit on their phones taking up two pieces of equipment while simultaneously filming, because God forbid anyone else actually came to work out. May as well not bring it to the manager attention, because everyone is doing it and they don’t care (this is just the new age of gym culture) you will look like the bad person, because how dare you complain that people are in the gym to become influencers and sit on the equipment on their phone , lol 😂

Unresponsive and mismanaged facility. After checking other reviews here, only the positive ones are responded to so I doubt my message will be addressed.

Joseph assured my mother that her membership and personal training sessions were canceled but lo and behold she was “auto renewed” despite leaving voice mails, in person messages, and sending emails.

They are “looking into it” but I doubt we’ll see any resolve.

THEY BLOCKED MY ORIGINAL REVIEW! I gave 3 stars at first, but now 1. Here’s what happened:

It was nice to go on early mornings - my machine routine would take over an hour in the evenings, but I can do the same circuit in 30 minutes in the morning! Unfortunately, the old janitor at the gym figured out my routine and starting following me. On Monday, 4/28, I was on the treadmill - he came upstairs and was pretending to test the treadmills. One by one he got closer and closer to mine, then stopped right next to mine, looked at me for a while, then starting walking next to me and pushing buttons on the TV like he was testing it. I nearly left, but resolved not to let him run me off and mess up my routine. He eventually left after a few minutes, and I finished the treadmill and went downstairs. I did the machines and then did some workouts in the fake grass area. While I’m working out, the janitor started pretending to brush with the broom around me when he was clearly watching me. I finished my workout, but unfortunately, I had to change my schedule and switch locations. It’s unfortunate that you can hardly go to the gym without some old guy bothering you because he thinks he’s entitled to whatever he wants.

I was denied entry because I had my eleven year old son there- he’s already joined on numerous occasions. Come to find out they not only have child care but I was profiled, when shortly before I saw an entire family of the same ethnicity as the male front desk attendant come out in work-out attire. 6:30 pm 4/30/25 check the tapes management.
