I’m really disappointed with the gym’s security. On Saturday, November 1st, 2025, someone broke into my locker and stole my cash and cards. Because it was almost closing time, no one helped me or offered any solution—they just told me to come back on Monday.
By Monday, after getting almost no support from the gym, I decided to cancel my membership to avoid another bad experience. I even gave them the exact time of the theft so they could check the cameras and see who was leaving the gym then. Hopefully, they start taking better care of their members.

ELIAS J made fraud to my wife putting her in the longest contract and told her she could modify her personal training sessions, but when she wanted to do that he said you just can upgrade and not downgrade, they agreement could start with a 3 month but he put her in a 9 month contract of $580 a month plus $42 dollar membership without any notification, leading to us of cancel the gym membership but they refused because we have to pay the full left balance of around $3,500 which is ridiculous atrocious and a totally fraud, that’s why the TFC is suing the freaking la fitness, I also took this further making a complaint to the BBB AND CFPB, plus a lawyer to get my money bank they charged even I replaced my credit card, never will says something good about this fraud gym ❌

Please replace your yoga mats. They are falling apart like they were eaten by a bear. And womens showers need some better cleaning and care. Pool and hot tub obviously need a deep clean more frequently. And I no longer use the water fountains because twice, there was yellow liquid coming out of it.

This gym is experiencing a downhill. Many machines are rusty and lack of maintenance. The customers here also lack of manners, men will harass you without leaving you alone, bathrooms are also dirty, alcohol wipes are always running out and people alway put on loud music. People here clearly don't know how to behave like civilized human being. Complain to the male supervisor and he told me to call the cops....This place is surely a heaven for men.

I was trying to speak with the manager since around two months to explain to him but it looks like the manager is a big boss and he never show up here or care about the gym, the employee on the front desk took my number and promised to call but he never called me this lasy manager.
Never sing up here for the swimming pool or even the gym, I did my research and it turned to the company who changes the water here for the swimming pool is changing it every 4 months and two employees also confirmed to me that when I asked them, that's very nasty and disgusting imagine hundreds of people swim here everday and they never change the water they just add huge amount of bleach and chemicals to kill the millions of bacteria there, imagine if you take a shower everyday for 4 months using the same water which you have been using every day, and now imagine you and another hundreds of people using the same dirty water for 4 monthes without changing the nasty water, that's nasty 🤮 and very disgusting.
most of the equipment here are very old and there furniture are torned, it doesn't cost you that much to change the torned dirty furniture and the lasy manager by himself can do it.

The gym has a good amount of equipment and space, so you can usually get your workout done without too much trouble. They also offer classes and some extras like a pool, which is a nice bonus compared to smaller gyms.

On the downside, it does get crowded during peak hours, and the cleanliness could definitely be better in some areas. Staff are friendly at times, but service can feel inconsistent, and there’s a bit of a push toward sales. I’ve been coming to this LA Fitness for about 2.5 years after moving from the Bronx to NJ, and honestly, the only reason I’ve stuck with it is the convenient location. I’ve held off on writing a review because the morning staff is always polite, but the truth is this gym feels more like a Planet Fitness or Blink (maybe worse) with a premium price tag—and the value just isn’t there.

I typically come in before 8 a.m., and every visit is the same story: weights scattered everywhere (I spent 10 minutes this morning looking for a pair of 15s, 17.5s, OR 20s and only found the second half of the pair because I went upstairs into the exercise room), machines left sweaty and dirty, no one re-racking equipment, and the attachments like handles and cables are missing or broken. There’s no designated hip thrust machine or area, several machines have been out of service for months, and the basketball court has been closed forever. The bathrooms? Nasty.

Again, the morning staff is always friendly, but clearly, something’s happening in the evenings because by morning the gym is a mess. If LA Fitness is going to charge a premium, the experience needs to match the price—right now, it doesn’t.

I would say this is an excellent facility only until you get into their fitness plan.

I was offered a 3-month plan, with the option to continue or cancel. Unfortunately, the person who signed me up rushed through the process and asked me to sign without properly explaining the terms.

I only managed to attend one class because my workload doubled, and then I had to relocate to another city. After 2 months, I asked them to release me from the plan. That’s where the real frustration began.
First, I couldn’t even get an appointment—I was forced to wait for over an hour while staff sat idle.
They said I needed a relocation letter from my employer. I provided one two days before leaving NJ.
It still took 1.5 months for corporate to respond, only to say that because LA Fitness has a facility in the city I was moving to, they would not close my plan.
I wasn’t given any option to pause the plan either.

After spending hours with both corporate and the Lodi staff, I was told the only way out was to “buy out” the plan. I ended up paying $210 for 4 months of a plan I barely used plus $350 more just to cancel it.

On top of that, the staff—especially one manager with a French beard—were extremely rude and uncooperative, even avoiding scheduled meetings.

Over all
Membership is fine.
Do NOT sign up for their fitness plans.
Corporate policies are misleading and exploitative.
Staff attitude is dismissive and unhelpful.

About what you would expect from an LA fitness. Something to note; as of 5/31, the basketball court is still temporarily closed.
The bathrooms themselves are relatively clean, however the soap dispensers (at least in the mens restrooms) are often always out. There are plenty of machines. The most popular times are usually during the summer in the afternoon, and weekends. Generally, you’ll see the most people after 5pm. I would overall give this gym a 4.2/5.

I’m tired of holding my tongue lol. I don’t write reviews often but I have to say something. I’ve been with LA for a while now and been going to this location for at least 5 years. It’s gone downhill. The only reason I stay going here is out of convenience and affordability. This gym location used to be clean and tidy. Nowadays, I know this has to do partially with the members…but the locker rooms are disgusting, the staff and majority of people don’t know how to re-rack, you can’t find more than half of the equipment or weights, we used to have more than one kettlebell and those disappeared, machines are broken or there’s not enough, staff and people don’t have gym etiquette. I get, yes, the staff has right to equipment or space for their clients but doesn’t it also make sense if you see someone, people, someone’s belongings around an area or machine to ask first??? It’s common sense. I’ve had better experiences with gym members than the staff. In my experience, the staff stay being rude to members unless they have personal training sessions with the gym, they’re trying to get something out of you, or they’re cool with you. Some of the staff members don’t even have knowledge about gym equipment so why are you working at a gym or hiring someone with no knowledge. At least learn or teach them. Parking lot is a landfill too!! Y’all need to get it together.

This gym is a complete disappointment. There’s only one set of each free weight, which makes working out frustrating and inefficient during peak hours. The cable machines are practically useless—there are missing attachments or none available at all. The cleanliness is unacceptable: trash cans are constantly overflowing, both inside and outside the facility. It’s filthy and neglected. I usually like this gym, but lately people have been sleeping on the mats during open hours. I get that times are tough, but it’s uncomfortable and unsanitary — especially for paying members. Management really needs to step in and keep the space professional and safe.also use some scented cleaner for the locker room it always smells .

I have been out of the gym for over a year now and was really looking to get back into a routine. I went to a few other gyms and wasn’t sold. I was a HUGE fan of LA fitness in part from the facility but in larger part to Aaron.

He was a tremendous help walking me around the gym, explaining all of the offerings, and was one of those individuals who shot you straight and cut the BS. I really appreciated that and ultimately signed up.

I don’t usually post review but today was compelled to do so. The staff at the counter tonight 6/3/25 who was supposed to close the gym was extremely rude to me as I got in to the hot tub after 10:30. I understand the concern of people who uses the pool/tub area tend to stay late but I only intended to use the hot tub for 10 minutes and to be cautious about leaving on time and needed to use the hot tub as heat therapy for my painful joint and muscles. She especially walked in to turn off the water jets and yelled at me rudely and chase two other people out of the tub. Meanwhile there were many other people who were in the locker and sauna still slowly taking there time, which is okay as long as everyone leaves before 11 as the gym closes. Typically the hot tub is already not kept that clean and can often see dirt inside, if not because of body condition that needs heat and hydro treatment I would not have used it. Overall I would generally give 2.5 star but because of the experience with this particular staff’s treatment to a member, it shows the attitude how clients are being treated disrespectfully and this is unacceptable.
