This place is grimy. There is visible dirt on all the equipment and what looks like old gum on the floor every ten feet. I saw an old bandaid in one of the shower stalls for 3 days in a row. LA Fitness, Mount Laurel, NJ is great because of a kind and polite atmosphere there. The members, the staff and the manager Ben are great.
There are things to be improved of course: the gym needs to be cleaned more often, the equipment is rusty and needs to be replaced, but it is all correctable.

We switched from the Marlton location because of the rudeness of members there and the powerless to do anything management.
We feel very much at home at Mount Laurel LA Fitness.

i was “greeted” by Betty telling me i had an over due balance - i got a new card but didn’t have the physical card on me. Betty was so nasty to me and insinuated i couldn’t work out. so i didn’t wanna argue and said i’d leave. as i’m leaving my hand got caught in the door and RIPPED my nails off, i was bleeding and so hurt. she comes in the bathroom and starts scolding me and saying it’s cause i have long nails and need a better nail tech. what kind of professionalism is this ? she was so nasty and so rude. literally ruined my day. i’ve had the same nail tech for YEARS. and they never ripped off the way they did in front of her. her energy threw my whole day off. the only person who made me feel better about the situation was Nick. he was so extremely understanding and nice. i don’t like writing negative reviews but man what an awful experience.

This gym is about 10 years overdo for a refresh.
Equipment is at its last leg. Particularly the cardio and free weights.
The locker rooms are disgusting. Trust me. Open a locker or look in the shower and you’ll see what I mean.
No one wipes equipment and they are always out of product.
And it’s just not a good vibe.

The only positive is its location.

I look forward to the day an EOS or Amp’d comes into the area so we can all go to a health club that knows how to operate in present day.

This is my home gym. It's pretty large so even if it's "busy" it's never really packed. It's really clean and the bathrooms/locker rooms are very cleaned compared to other gyms.

They have all the equipment/machines you would need and in great working condition too.

Lastly, and usually overlooked when rating a gym, the staff are super friendly and very helpful.

Hi! I've been a member of this location for several years now. I've admittedly haven't been hitting the gym for a while since it's not really in my way. However, I called to clarify my membership and Betty was simply a pleasure to speak to so shout out to Betty who just spoke with me on the phone today. Despite my numerous complaints and suggestions, the gym management persistently disregards them. The main issue is the daily vacuuming that occurs during the busiest time at the gym, specifically between 5 and 7 pm. The constant noise and disturbance caused by the person vacuuming directly next to me while I'm exercising is incredibly frustrating.

From a customer friendly perspective, it is generally not recommended to vacuum a fitness club during the busiest time of the day as it can cause disruptions and distractions to the members working out. The noise from the vacuum cleaner can be loud and bothersome, making it difficult for members to focus on their exercise routines.

Additionally, the vacuuming process may create a lot of dust and debris, which can be kicked up into the air and potentially cause breathing problems or allergies for some individuals.

Please schedule vacuuming during off-peak hours when the gym is less busy. This can minimize disruption to members and allow for a more thorough cleaning without affecting the overall gym experience.

It took over six months, until 9/21/23, for the fitness club's management to finally reach out. Surprisingly, their goal wasn't to address the situation to my satisfaction but rather to pressure me into removing my review. Furthermore, I was threatened with membership suspension without adequate grounds.

Now, it seems I am being followed by a vacuum cleaner guy, seemingly protected by the management. I've chosen not to complain again as it seems futile. I'm compelled to use earplugs and stay as far away as possible due to the incessant vacuuming.

Facility is great. Pretty clean compared to other gyms in the area. Good amount of cardio gear, I’ve never had to wait to get onto a machine. Great free weights and guided machine areas as well. Even though there are many gyms closer to my house, I don’t mind making the trip for a guaranteed good experience. Other patrons are respectful. I've been a member for about two weeks now, and my experience has been mixed. The gym isn't terrible, but it’s not great either. I've noticed a lot of out-of-order machines, and even the ones without signs often turn out to be broken when I try to use them. Additionally, cleanliness is an issue—there’s frequently trash and used wipes left on the machines. It seems like the cleaning staff is understaffed given the high volume of members using the facility.

Good selection of lifting machines and free weights.

Half of the cardio machines make noises/clicks when operating or don't have working tvs. If the tvs work, they have different working channels from the machine next to it. Can't you do any better?

Lockers are disgusting and all need to be individually cleaned, plenty of body hair left behind indicating they haven't even been vacuumed. They've been the same since I started going.

Sauna is broken half of the time, and the other half smells disgusting. Needs to be cleaned more regularly along with rest of locker room.

Edit: adding some photos, hopefully the staff handles these complaints that have been filed multiple times. Can we get the tvs working on the machines already? It's a Sunday and not a single channel playing an NFL game is working. Pathetic.

Tvs still broken. 2/8 stairclimbers do not work at all and have been broken for weeks. 8/8 have non functioning TV's along with half the treadmills and bikes. Get your pathetic gym together. You collect plenty of dues from rich medford mom's. No reason this gym is this busted.

The cleanliness of this gym is a problem. The lockers are covered in hair as dirt. They clearly have not been cleaned in months.

The sauna and showers are only cleaned once a week, on Friday nights. Oh by the way - the sauna will close early on Fridays for cleaning! Shouldn't that be cleaned.. idk everyday? Along with the showers? And afterhours, when your members and guests are not trying to use facilities?

Why is so hard to clean here? Why is so hard to do it after hours? You are making more then enough profits, pay employees to stay late and do the cleaning when you're not interrupting everyone else's workouts.

These haven't been dealt with for a year, I've expressed multiple times my core issues. I am changing to a one star as I could tell nothing will ever be done to address any customer complaints.

This gym is extremely overcrowded. The decision to shut down the somerdale and cherry hill locations and caused a mass influx of members to this gym. If you want a prime example of how to run your business into the ground, look no further than LA Fitness executive leadership. You used to be a decent brand. I will only go here because it has the sauna. I can't wait to switch to lifetime in mt Laurel when they open up memberships again.

Do yourself a favor. Avoid this gym. If you have no other choice. Make sure you get assistance from anyone but Steve F. He's the sales manager. Never before have I had someone try to make me feel ashamed and guilty so that they didn't have to feel bad about messing up. And then he proceeded to blame it on some girl at the front counter and said she had been reprimanded. Honestly, I hope not. She doesn't deserve to be punished for Steve royally messing up. Only to find out later from someone at the counter that this is probably not the case. So it was likely Steve was lying to cover himself. Either way he's not bright for trying lie to me or seriously morally corrupt for punishing someone else for his mistake. From this alone I would give this place 0 stars. Make sure you back check your offer to your receipts. Keep any and all messages. And check your billing date.

The gym is not kept well. Equipment is constantly left around the gym and not in it's designated location. And no one wipes down the benches when they are done. Sauna is pretty gross more than not. I'm not going to blame the custodian cause from what I can tell they only hired the one guy and girl for the whole gym. Either pay them more or hire more people.

I immediately went back to Giant Fitness Voorhees. Where people actually know how to be accountable and responsible when they make a mistake. People wipe down the equipment and place things back. And staff is friendly and it's literally half the cost of LA Fitness.

I started coming to this gym about 3 weeks ago. Overall I really like it and the staff is super friendly. The one thing that could use a huge improvement is the cleanliness of the gym. The barbells and plates are left all over the place and not put back in proper space which slows down my gym routine. Since staff is onsite they should be responsible for reorganizing the gym equipment and ensuring everything is in its proper place.

The gym could also use a new set of dumbbells overall because there aren’t enough and the ones there are worn down. Some the numbers aren’t even there anymore to identify the weight.
