Signed up today after trial visit and workout. Greg helped set me up and was super helpful and welcoming. I had read all the reviews for this and other nearby gyms beforehand and I felt that this one seemed to have all the things that had previously been raised as issues now under control as far as I can tell and from what Greg told me. It was slightly warm inside during my workout (December in NJ so quite cold outside) but not too problematic and a little sweat during a vigorous workout is probably a good thing. Overall I liked what I saw and excited to try the huge variety of equipment and amenities they have.

Really helpful service - I came in looking to use my 7-day guest pass. I have never ever had a bad experience at this gym. In fact, I would go out of my way to go to this location when I lived closer to the other ones. The equipment is always clean and well maintained as is the locker room. The staff are always friendly and professional when you first walk in the door. I'm greeted and it's not just a bunch of people staring at their phones. Special shout-out to Ashley the director of gym operations for always being positive, professional, and courteous! Love you guys! Thank you!

I’ve been going to this Gym for years and it by far the best LA fitness in NJ, at least for me, juice bar, friendly staff, never waiting for machines or benches.

I recently moved, so the distance isn’t making much sense so I decided to go on the app to cancel. Before cancelling I saw in the app that this location has pickleball and I decided to call immediately.

I spoke to Greg, not only did I receive amazing service, but he actually plays the sport! Was able to answer all of my questions and gave me advice on how to prepare for next visit.

End of the day I decided to stay because to have pickle ball court access as part of my membership is way cheaper than indoor pickle ball courts.

Thanks Greg for the service and genuinely addressing my concern as beginner pickleball player. 10/10!

As of Sept 29, 2025 the air conditioner is still not working and the gym is leaking badly. See pictures from 9/7/25. Fans everywhere that gets in the way for working out. Equipment all over the place. This gym lacks gym etiquette not only by members, but also the staff. It took over 6 yrs for the pool to get fixed. It’s been over 3 yrs and AC still not fixed. Open complaints with BBB, Consumer Affairs and North Brunswick Dept of Health. Got to the gym after 5am and the staff did not put anything away the night before. Watering bubbling on ceiling with a tv attached. Puddle of water outside the spin room. I went to the front desk to make them aware, 20 min later still not wiped up. How they remain open, I’m clueless. Do not believe the 5 stars. They are fake reviews. No one responds to negative reviews. They have all these fans around the gym. I was told by Andrew that the Ac will be worked on starting Aug 22, 2025. I still can’t get an answer as to why the AC has been broken for more than 3 years and every yr they put fans out. Still no answer. Complaints have been filed with BBB and Consumer Affairs & North Brunswick Dept of Health. The AC has been broken for years. I can’t even workout as I feel I’m going to pass out. La Fitness should be reimbursing members who cannot work out as it’s detrimental to your health with no air conditioner working. This happens every year and I don’t understand why it’s not fixed. As soon as I get inside, the hot air is so overwhelming, it turn around and walk out. Not only is this a safety and health issues, it’s also detrimental to our health.

Update as of May 8, 2025 the pool & hot tub is still closed yet they advertise that we have a pool. Also note no one addresses negative reviews only fake reviews. I’m surprised there has not been a lawsuit because they include pool as an amenity but it’s been closed for 6 years. How can a pool be closed for so long. You cannot get an answer as to when the pool will open. Weights are all over the place. Granted members should put them back but you have a lot of staff sitting around and playing on their phones. I would love to get paid for sitting around and doing nothing but chat it up with other staff members and watch tv or text on my phone. They post no large bags on the floor but they don’t enforce it and I’ve caught myself tripping several times overs large gym bags. If I get hurt, La Fitness will be paying my medical bills. The free weight area is worse as staff do not re-rack the weights at the end of the night (members should as well) but management leaves the gym a mess. Broke. Treadmills which is old as hell, missing pins so you can’t use the machines. Weights all over the place and not put back. I wish I could rate it a negative 0 but I had to give a star (forced) in order to write a review. They never replaced the old Ellipticals and treadmills when they closed for renovations. The gym smells of bad body odor and mold. Missing pins from equipment. You gotta love the FAKE REVIEWS giving 5 stars about staff. Staff and even trainers are always on the phone, whether they are texting or watching something. Kids club closed down. They can't keep knowledgeable and talented instructors. Not many classes being offered at this location. Forget about air conditioning, they place fans through the gym blowing around. They use to have spray bottles for members to clean off equipment, they got very cheap and no more. They have wipes that dry out and not enough paper towels. So many fake reviews about staff. Staff are always on their phone texting or watching movies/shows. Beware.

I do not recommend signing up at the North Brunswick Location. The gym is is big and has potential but as you see from the photos taken on 5/28/2022 the building is not safe. The pool has not been open for almost a year. Pins for weights are missing, ceiling tiles are missing and when it rains, water gets in. You can smell mold.

The AC doesn’t work, the smoothie bar is closed even before closing, so you can’t even buy a bottle of water during your workout. The hot tub is out of action. And to top it all off, no one here has any respect for putting the dumbbells back in their correct spots. It’s a MESS by the free weights. If you want a good place to work out, either head to the east Brunswick location or to the Edison location.

This place has really gone down. They literally last 3-4 months to fix some machines other machines have over a year messed up and the ceiling tiles are half gone and it leaks like crazy when it rains. It's disrespectful at this point.....update 8/16/25 was in the gym and asked a member at the desk to the left of the entrance about adding my wife to my plan...no help at all...it seemed like I was bothering him by even talking to him...said I need to come in person mon- fri 8-5pm. He said I cant call i must come in person...when I asked why he just said there the only ones that can give i a price.....make it make sense.... How do you belong to a gym that does not provide air-conditioning in the heat of the summer?
Stopped by this location late on a Sunday because my primary gym closes at 5 PM, they have no central air conditioning! The temperature in the gym is 81°.

Two add insult to injury, the equipment is in Poor condition,, mostly old and barely functioning.
If I lived north of here, I would go to the Edison LA fitness, state of the art

No AC for months and sweat on equipments, but then who cares. I also don’t care about a guy I know was about to pass out from exhaustion and the health issues from touching others’ sweat. I go there for workouts and cardio, not for AC.
