I absolutely love the Max Challenge!!! The staff is wonderful. They are so friendly and yet professional, making everyone feel welcome.
Working out with other members is FUN!! We are all on different fitness journeys and we encourage each other. I also enjoy the option of zooming in on class. I've only done that twice {babysitting my grandson and having guests visiting) but love that I could get ny workout in !!! I am committed to The Max Challenge and feel wonderful when I leave the studio after only 45 minutes of working out and having fun! I can feel and see the difference in my body. Sign up! I have been a member since April 2024 and I couldn’t be happier. The instructors are wonderful and very warm, welcoming and really care about your progress. I had always struggled working out on my own at traditional gyms, but now that I’m at The Max Challenge, I can do everything from lifting weights to cardio guided by an instructor. The Max creates an include environment, where working out is fun and you make friends along the way!

I’ve been a member of this gym for three weeks, and I can confidently say it’s been an amazing experience! One of the standout features is the variety of workouts offered. It keeps things fresh and exciting, so I never get bored with the same routine.

The staff here are outstanding. They’re always available to support you, both mentally and physically, which makes a huge difference. Their high energy is contagious—they know how to pump you up and keep you motivated.

I personally love doing a lot of cardio here, and it’s been a great boost for my mental health as well as my physical fitness. The gym truly fosters a positive and uplifting environment.

What makes this place even more special is how much they care about the community. They’re always finding ways to give back, which adds to the sense of belonging.

I have nothing negative to say about this gym. I genuinely enjoy coming here every day—it’s become a highlight of my routine. Highly recommend it!

I love going to the Maxx. I love the early morning classes, if it’s along with My schedule. I love that. Every class is different, there was never the same Workout twice. The instructors are personable and know each member by name. The instructors pay attention to the members skills and often offer suggestions to build on the skills.

If youre someone that doesnt like gyms due to the monotony of working out, this place is worth checking out. Even though each day has a focus; Mon & Wed - cardio, Tues - Upper Body, Thurs - Lower Body, Fri - Kickboxing, Every other weekend - wildcard every day and every week is different than the last. This makes the 45 min session go by very quickly and keeps you engaged. Each day is set up in different circuit training style sessions and there are typically 2-4 trainers per class which allows them to spend time with everyone and correct form if necessary. Even if youre on a lesser athletic level or have health limitations they are great about offering modifications and you are never judged negatively for it just praised for doing your best. They are also great about accommodating your schedule, if you sign up for a 10 week program but get the flu one week or go on vacation another week they'll pause it and add the weeks at the end so you get the full benefit. Honestly worth the investment in yourself, highly recommend. A little on the pricier side it may not be in everyones budget but you get what you pay for in terms of value and the amount of one on one time with the different trainers throughout the class.

The Max Challenge has been great for helping me to reestablish the exercise habit after significant medical issues and injuries had me sidelined. Michael, the evening instructor is a GEM! So sweet, upbeat and able to give modifications for every single exercise. He kept checking in on how I was feeling and we realized I needed to stay standing in order to accommodate post-concussion syndrome, so for every exercise, he gives me a standing version.

I also really like the 45 minute class time- it’s the Goldilocks time- not too short and not too long!

Just be aware that the positive vibe that is one of the Max hallmarks can include lots of high fives and sometimes I wish there was a cynical, sarcastic, “no-touching “ corner for us introverts! But it does come across as very sincere and they do follow up with text reminders to make sure you don’t give up which is helpful!

This gym is amazing. I started over a year ago and when I started, I honestly doubted my ability to get through a class, let alone do burpees. I've since learned I CAN do it and I'm way stronger than I ever imagined and I owe it to Max of Ocean. Pam and Michael are truly the best of the best. I’ve been to gyms on and off throughout my life, and what’s happening here at Max of Ocean is truly special. Before joining, I was diagnosed with MDD which means even getting out of bed felt like a Herculean task. Walking a few minutes down the street was exhausting.

As a former professional athlete, I've been a member of many gyms/health clubs over the years. I must say, I have NEVER EVER experienced anything like the MAX. From the daily workouts to the music that is played, you are always treated to something new--never the same. Therefore, your muscles and body continue to transform because it is constantly being challenged in a different way. You're encouraged to set a goal, and there's fun/theme activities throughout. There's a weekly meal plan for those who need it to take out the guess-work on how to eat. The private Facebook page is a place to receive encouragement and to share recipes and support. There's supplements, the best protein powder, and gear right on location. What I love most is the support and genuine love you receive from the owner and staff. They support you in and out of the gym! I also treasure the family atmosphere that exists amongst all the members. We support one another, encourage one another, and do networking often as there are members from all sorts of professions, businesses, and backgrounds. I met my new accountant at the Max, and she is extraordinary! The owner is an angel on earth and knows EVERY member, their spouses/partners, children, and immediate family members by name. This is awesome as there are many of us! It's a place that, no matter your physical ability, accommodations are made specifically for you so that you may reach your personal goals. I love this place! Once you go MAX, you'll never go back!!!

I have been going to the max challenge for almost 3 years now and I have nothing but great things to say about these place. It is not just your regular gym, is a family, a support system, a motivational place. Pam and her team of instructors are wonderful and make working out fun. I always hated going to gyms, I didn’t know how to use machines and all I did was the treadmill every time. At the max the instructors teach you how to do it and encourage you to try new things all the time. I definitely recommend anyone to try it out, specially if you are like me and don’t like to workout because you don’t know how to Utilize equipment.

I recently completely the 5 week jump start to summer challenge. I chose the 5 week because 10 weeks intimidated me a bit. But now after completing the 5 weeks I’m choosing to stay as a legacy member and continue working out at the Max of ocean. Previously I would jog a few times a week and walk a lot. But now I’m doing exercises that I’ve never done and waking up muscles that weren’t being used before. The workouts are always different and never boring. The trainers are awesome and motivate you and show you modifications when needed. And the members are so helpful and encouraging as well. Going to the Max in the morning makes me feel good about myself and sets the tone for the day. I’m so glad I went a little out of my comfort zone and gave it a try!

When I first heard about the Max, I looked it up and thought this is a little intimidating, I'm not going to be able to do this lol.

Once I met Pam and the instructors they made me feel so at ease, they were very knowledgeable and told me if you can't do certain exercises we have modifications for them.

From day one, almost three years ago, maybe I didn’t know it at the time, my body needed this challenge. I was too infrequent at my attempt to exercise. Spring and summer bike rides, walking, then hunkering down in winter, probably overeating all the wrong things. At my first Max challenge, first class , I wanted this for myself. I worked hard I came back the next morning and the next, I participated in different types of floor exercises, things I had never done before, at my pace, modified, until my body could and would complete 45 minutes and worked up a good sweat.
This October I turn 77 years old. I’m comfortable saying that because I’ve become strong in body and belief that I can do this. Sure, I have to fight when I’m lazy. I’m human. I’ve made a commitment to exercise on property or now at home on Zoom. I’m always going to struggle with the right choice of food. That’s a product of being from an Italian family and years of eating habits. Total weight loss at Max is 14 lbs. I had lost 27 with a nutritionist the year before. I was ready for this change in my life. I was ready to make my body stronger. I dropped from Double XL to large. From 18 to 14. The inches come off. I don’t want them coming back. Now Thai e said all of this. I better take a YouTube class.

I have been a member at Max Ocean twp for several years and enjoy the experience very much. Pam, the owner is extremely welcoming and motivating and her staff is as well. During this terrible pandemic Pam has checked in with me through Facebook and also through texting. I feel like I’m part of something very special. The other members I have met are very nice and I have formed friendships with some. Pam has Zoom classes and has also hosted a happy hour or two. I participated in a Bingo which was a lot of fun. Pam also does a lot for the community in various clothing drives and other fund raisers. I highly recommend The Max Challenge of Ocean to anyone looking to get in shape through exercise and nutrition. The nutrition piece is very important and Pam and her staff are always available for questions and counseling . I really can’t think of another program that encompasses fun safe exercise- common sense nutrition and as a bonus - the fun factor experience. Give it a try- it might become a lifestyle if u let it!!!

To date, I have tried many gyms, trainers and diets in my life...I can confidently say that The Max of Ocean is by far better than any others that I've ever experienced. Pam, the Owner, is so very involved with all of the members, knowing personally how their journey is going. Every single instructor is supportive in and out of the gym and they provide you with one-on-one coaching that will stick with you forever. When you enter that door, you enter into a room full of family who knows you in a way that your own family may not. Each and every one of them push you to do your best and push you to where you never thought possible. Everyone has each other's back. This isn't just a gym...it's much, much more than that.

Max Challenge is one of the best things I have done for myself. Having gained pounds from the infamous Retirement 15 and more, as well as being 70, I knew I had to make some changes. Even though I have always been physically active and have gone to the gym on a regular basis. I needed more such as structure and incentive to lose weight and be in a better shape. Winter is my enemy when it comes to being active or doing exercises. Max came highly recommended to me. The minute I walked in through the door, I was enthused and motivated. The trainers, Pam Miller, Melissa, and Robyn, made me feel included and supported all the way. Been going since September 2017. Most of you may not know or realize - I am Deaf and use sign language. I am sure the minute the staff found out, they wondered, “OK, what do we do with this? How do we do this?” However, that never stopped them and we all interact in different ways. One of the trainers even went to a sign language class to pick up signs. They are always eager to make sure I have visual cues to keep me on track. Those working out with me do the same, which helps greatly with providing equity. Overall, Max is a great place to be. Also the Max nutrition plan is great as it is healthy, realistic, and practical. They offer great suggestions for appetizing meals. The trainers are very supportive while we work and struggle with maintaining the nutrition plan. My motto is “Go for the Max”. AND I lost 30 pounds and my blood pressure and overall health is great. I can’t thank you, the trainers, and the MAX concept enough. High Five 🙌 🙌 ❤️❤️

I have been a member at the Max for almost a year- and there is not one negative thing I can say about the instructors, the fellow maxers, or the place. The instructors are always willing to discuss any questions you have, and always help you with whatever you need. Super personable, fun, energetic instructors that make the experience extremely enjoyable. The Maxers that go to the gym are also very energetic, and motivating always pushing one another. Days when I feel like I could skip out on going I get myself there and I know as soon as I walk in my energy will change because of the people I am surrounded by- and I am ready to give it my all. My husband and I joined 18 months ago and quickly convinced our daughter to join by showing her what amazing results we were having . Getting out of bed at 4:30am isn’t easy but we look forward to each and every class . The owner has created a fun and supportive atmosphere and make sure the needs of people at every fitness level are met . The entire staff is incredibly motivating and fully vested in making sure we all succeed . They are always available and take time out to listen and work thru any challenges you may be having in the gym, with the food program or anything else that is preventing you from meeting your goals. Even if you don’t take their class all of the instructors know you and make themselves available to you. if you are on the fence about joining just try it for a week. You won’t be sorry .

I started the Max Challenge of Ocean the end of January of 2017. I cannot tell you how great this has been for me. After the first challenge I lost 22 pounds. I continued to the next challenge and lost 23 pounds. I have lost a total of 55 pounds but more than that I am in the best physical shape I have been in over 25 years. I couldn’t have done it without Pam Miller, Melissa Dempsey, Robyn Napoli and the rest of the instructors. The support, commitment and family atmosphere makes it the best gym I have ever been too. If you give it one 10 week challenge and buy into what they are selling you will change your life.

The MAX Challenge of Ocean is an awesome gym for so many reasons! I have struggled remaining consistent with working out for years, and when I fall off (which I do) the trainers reach out to me on a personal level with genuine care, motivation and encouragement. The sense of community and comaraderie is second to none. The workouts are always different, fun and even team building keeping it interesting. It feels like family. There are also sessions available to learn about the various food stages and compliance if you are interested. ALL of The trainers are motivating and provide modifications as needed. Everyone is committed to helping each other reach their goals and provide accountability. The gym is always clean and the floor is mopped between classes. The few times I left personal belongings behind, it was posted in the secret group and was waiting for me to retrieve. . Pam, Melissa, Robyn, Liz, Ally, Dan and Carl have all been super helpful and know who I am, even if their class isn’t my regular time, that’s pretty cool!!! So listen, if you are looking for a gym where trainers are committed to working with members and always available with inspiration and motivation this is the place for you! I highly recommend this gym!

I gave Max a 5 Star Rating because they deserve it! First Time and Only Time I ever lost the weight I did was because of Max Fitness and their
prescription for success! First, I am a foodie and 'standard dieting' is hard and does not work for me. With Max Fitness I learned about the value of protein drinks and eating good nutritious food that leaves you satisfied and not hungry. I actually love to exercise with Max Fitness Trainers! They teach you exactly how to do each exercise precisely or a modification thereof so that you always 'fit in' with others in your class! I am proud to say that I take Boot Camp Classes and they absolutely work to reform your body! My favorite is Arm Day, Planking (I informally hold the MAX record!) and Kickboxing/Boxing on Fridays! Everyone is so helpful, honestly nice and really interested in you as a person, your goals, your success and your return to optimum health and looking as good as you can! My time is valuable to me, I have little to spare in a day so their recipe of 45 minutes 5 days a week or at times just however many days you can get to a class brings amazing results! The more days you make it to a class, the faster the results show! It is a NO Brainer to choose to do MAX Fitness! Like me, you will come back again and again because it feels good to see everyone, you will feel great all the time and look even better than you did before, you will be healthier and happier!!! I had pretty bad experience. I had enrolled for September to December challenge this year. Instructors were not helpful. Cleanliness was an issue. They never started on time as well. To cover up for their short comings they used to blame it on the participants. Very much disappointed with the way it went. Had to pull out of it finally.

Amazing experience! I did the Max because I have anxiety about going to the gym. But their group classes made me feel less self conscious and it was geared towards everyone and anyone. At 1st I was nervous that I wouldn’t be able to keep up or maybe couldn’t do it. Not the case at all! I felt comfortable and welcome. The workout is different every day and every part of the body is improved. The work outs are suitable for all levels and are modified to meet your individual wants and needs. There is no intimidation or obligation to do anything you don’t want or can’t handle. The meal plan is easy to read, follow and enjoyable! It’s your goal and your motivation that are at the wheel. The instructors are simply like your gps... guiding you every step of the way to your desired destination. I’m sure the instructors that I haven’t met yet are great too but I must give a special thanks to the owner Pam Miller for caring about people and their health along with instructors Betsy and Kevin who have been key in my success so far.
