The Max Challenge of West Orange has potential to become better. The trainers for the most part are pleasant and some of them are better than others. It really depends on what works for you. The owner and head coach Rob has no manners and lacks leadership. As a newbie, he comes off approachable, but after being there for some time you'll realize eventually he's not easy to talk to. Honestly, overtime his workouts are repetitive and very boring. You'll be doing the same boring workout every single week; it's easy to guess the next move. I wish he would switch it up a bit. You end up paying all this money and he shows up not giving it his best. Rob's big ego prevents him from taking constructive criticism as he thinks he's the best and knows everything. At this point, his trainers can train him.

This is my 5th week of the Max Challenge of West Orange and I think I've finally found a program that works for me. First of all I enjoy being in a group. I find that beinf in a group setting helps to inspire me to keep going. Secondly, the work out program is not monotonous. The session is 45 mins long but it feels less because you're always engaged and doing new and fresh workout so the time goes by. I love the fact that there are levels to each exercise and depending on the individual and their abilities or limitations, everyone is working out. The instructors I've worked with has been phenomenal. Even though you're in a group, they are attentive, looking out for proper posture and will guide you to ensure you get the most from the exercise without hurting yourself. Let me not forget to mention the nutritionist that's available to members of the Max Challenge. Ive had two sessions with her already. Shes knowledgeable, pleasant and patient. I have learned so much from her nutritionally on my journey to a healthier me . I could go on and on about what I love about the Max Challenge because of the benefits I'm already experiencing but instead I will invite you to try for yourself.

The Max in West Orange is a fantastic place for cardio and strength classes. The supportive owner, Rob, and the other trainers genuinely care about each member's progress, creating a welcoming and motivating environment. The community here is incredible—friendly, encouraging, and always ready to motivate each other towards success.
My first workout at The Max was HARD, but I stuck with the classes and kept going. By the second week I had so much more energy throughout the day and felt amazing. By week 4-5, I noticed increased strength, stamina, and parts of my body toning up. Highly recommend for any fitness level as the classes are designed to be challenging AND accessible. Highly recommend!!

The Max Challenge in West Orange is amazing. This is exactly what I needed to push me in the right direction to get back to my old self. The trainers are very knowledgeable and push you to the limit. They are invested in your health journey and it shines through in each of their sessions. The meal plan they provide is a game changer and also encourages me to do the right thing. 16 months ago I joined the Max Challenge feeling sluggish, tired and pre-diabetic. Initially my intention was to do 1 challenge, but here I am over a year later. It has truly been one of the best decisions that I've made to prioritize my health. IF you are looking for a real experience of the max challenge, and I won't encourage you to subscribe to West orange. The max challenge is known for its fun and approachable high intensity training and as well its culture 👌. This center doesn't provide that. Members are to be served on their needs from level 1 modification to the highest level of exercise. And is to be cater for their own needs,and to taught the max culture, and max class format. Members should understand and know all max exercises ,group exercises, cues and modifications , and as well as max class formats. And protocols. Members are to be rewarded for their attendance and honor via max products and other accommodations. Members should be celebrated 🍾 after one year of progress and be rewarded for it and as well as mention via social media at their own discretion . Which in this center doesn't provide that to legacy members. This center also breaks traditional max programming of exercise, which it a 5-day in 10-week challenge program of cardio,upper,cardio,lower, and kickboxing. Which starts from a level 1 basis program to the hardest level class . Classes are not to be reapeat format , and as well to give a diffrent views of class experiences without losing the essential and effective fundamentals key of exercising. And this center doesnt provide that kind of training The center lacks a front desk person , which you won't have acesss to go and get informed from all the activities ,and events the maxchallenge should provides in which is in your membership. Other center around your area provide all of this theme days, culture gathering , events , workshop , and celebrations to get involved and give the newest members and as well as the legacy members ,a cultural experiences of fitness.
This is why I choose to give no stars to this center , and I will encourage you to look around other centers in your area. the meets the unique MAX CHALLENGE experience .

Unlike the big box gyms, of which I've "financed" many, The MAX Challenge of West Orange offers a safe, friendly, and non-judgmental environment for all levels of the exercise spectrum. From it's inception over 7 years ago, Rob and his staff have been phenomenal in helping me to achieve my fitness goals. I was hesitant to start the Max Challenge as I thought it was more advanced for my entry level but at the same time I knew that I needed to exercise to get stronger not only physically but also mentally due to my long hours stressful job so here I am after 3 months finishing a first challenge and starting the second one, highly motivated to continue as I achieved something very important which is clearing my mind, my mental health and here at the Max Challenge of West Orange you can achieve that! Good day everyone. This is my 3rd week in, doing the Max Challenge. I am really enjoying it thus far. Now, don’t get me wrong, (Whew, Oh God) lol, it’s work, and it feels like a lot, but it’s good. I may feel a little pain here and there from the work out, but overall, my body feels really good. I can’t wait to see the end result. Everyone is so friendly and polite. If you have any questions or concerns, they are right there to help you in every way.
The whole team is great, but I want to shout out to Rob, the owner. What I like about Rob and what he does, he makes it personal. What do I mean when I say this? When you first sign up, he will call you, he will get your name and get to know a bit about you. From the time he gets your name, he doesn’t forget. Every time he sees you, he will call you by your name, you’re not doing something quite right with your work out, he will call you out by your name each time. When I am at the gym and someone walks in, he will call every individual by name. (Now that’s a gift). You feel a certain way when someone acknowledges you by name. (I do). That’s what I wanted to say about Rob. He’s great!!

I've been working out at The Max West Orange for four years. I left one location because the clientele was nothing like the one in WO. They're so friendly, very supportive, like a family.
Rob, the owner, and his staff are amazing! I'm always impressed with Rob how he learns your name from the minute you walk in the door! The workouts are challenging, but can be modified. Rob and the trainers will push you but not more than you're able to handle. It's a great place to workout!

I joined West Orange Max Challenge in May of 2022. In one year of attending at least 3-days a week (I did miss few weeks between), I lost over 25 pounds. I went from taking 4 blood pressure medications down to 2. I lost 4 inches in my waste, etc.

I love the max challenge and the owner Rob. I was in really bad shape, gained 20 pound and felt really unhealthy. I called and started in a few weeks. I was able to lose 40 pounds. He builds a workout family. Everyone is supportive. I've back-slided and he reached out to me to get me back on track. I love the classes. I leave knowing it was 45 mins well spent. They also have a diet plan they put you one. It's basically everything. I highly recommend for all levels of fitness.
