It’s ok. If you want your kid to learn the basics, this is an ok place to start. But be ready for classes to be cancelled on the spot with no alert until you arrive. Also, when it comes to you having to cancel last minute… you will be charged for that class. The amount of credits I still have on my account but can’t get refunded back to me BECAUSE of them cancelling classes last minute infuriates me beyond belief. I feel bad I pulled my niece from her classes because she was really doing good but I just couldn’t take the cancellations anymore. Still have yet to be refunded, but keep receiving calls to come back. Maybe I need to file with BBB.

We absolutely love NJ Swim! 💙 We started our first son at age 2 when we moved to the area, and in just 3 years he has progressed to swimming independently thanks to the incredible instruction. Our second son began with Water Babies, which gave him confidence and helped him transition beautifully into teacher-led classes—he’s already learning so much so quickly! Both boys love Mr. Paul and their amazing swim teachers, and we are so glad we found this pool. Our boys are so comfortable here—it truly feels like a second home. 🏊‍♂️✨

I can’t say enough good things about NJswim lake side! Paul is amazing with toddlers! He makes the swim class fun, safe, and engaging while still teaching important skills. My child looks forward to every lesson and has grown so much more confident in the water. Paul is patient, encouraging, and knows exactly how to connect with little ones. I couldn’t recommend him more for toddler/ baby swim classes.

This swim school has gone downhill dramatically since being taken over by Elmer Swim School. Prices went up, class ratios were suddenly changed from 3:1 to 4:1 without any notice. Now classes are overcrowded, making it nearly impossible for children to get proper attention or make real progress. There are not nearly enough changing rooms, so families are forced to use bathrooms, which are often dirty and uncomfortable.

I have had a wonderful experience at NJ Swim. Both of my granddaughters now swim on their own and one of them is moving on to backstroke. What made NJ Swim different was Mr. Paul the manager and Miss Gabby the instructor. Both were true partners in helping my granddaughters learn to swim. They often worked as a team, in and out of the water, to get the strongest results for the girls. Mr. Paul always had a welcoming face with a warm “hello” for all of us. He was also extremely responsive to email and phonecalls when we had questions or needed to arrange a make-up. As the manager, and an excellent swim instructor, I would hear Mr. Paul giving pointers and suggestions to the other instructors, keeping them sharp and fresh at their own craft. Miss Gabby had just the right balance of encouragement and gentle firmness to keep the lessons safe and the girls progressing at swim. I can only hope that as we move to a closer location that we have half the wonderful experience we have had at NJ Swim.

We sign up for swim classes, and as my kids arrive for the first one while they are in the building, the class is canceled.

Why is class canceled? Is there a problem with the pool no, in door to hot or cold no. There is lightning outside.

Told them not to charge us for future classes. We will not be back and low and behold. I now have recurring charges from this place.

I can’t say enough great things about Njswim Lakeside. We transferred from Njswim Sparta during February and we have had nothing but incredible customer service since. My son has been in the water babies program since he was 3 months old and he has learned so much from their program. I can proudly say that he can get to safety and back float by himself since being in their program and with the help from his father and I encouraging and repeating the exercises we have learned in the water babies class. We transferred him to a preschool class at the beginning of March and they have been so wonderful with him and so incredibly supportive during this transition. Miss Maria and Miss Gaby have been rockstars in the pool with him and Mr Paul has been so incredibly helpful behind the desk. I can’t say enough great things about the staff here, they are absolutely fantastic! If you’re looking into joining swim lessons I highly highly recommend joining this location!

At first, it appears that they are respectful. They showed NO interest in scheduling my son’s class. I have never seen a business with this kind of unprofessionalism! The instructor missed a class and they refused to refund me my money! You cannot get them on the phone and written communication is cognitively limited!

I am extremely disappointed with the experience my 6-year-old autistic child had at this facility . Despite clearly mentioning his special needs during the enrollment process, the staff showed a clear bias against him .

My son is calm and well-behaved around other children, he received minimal attention from the instructor. It was evident that they were not equipped or willing to accommodate his needs, even though we had informed them beforehand.

If the facility is not capable of providing proper support for special needs children, they should not advertise themselves as such. This lack of understanding and inclusion is unacceptable, and I hope the management will take this feedback seriously to improve their practices and ensure that every child feels welcomed and supported.

There is a review on here about a mom who claims her autistic child was rejected. I can't help but to think it is a lie!! My son is on the spectrum along with other diagnosis and Mr. Paul, the manager at the Lakeside location was nothing but wonderful, patient and kind towards him. He had to adjust the lesson to target my child's needs. He changed the time of the lesson to a time where my son was going to be more comfortable. He was an absolute pleasure to deal with. My other toddler son, takes lessons with Mr. Zachary who has been nothing but wonderful and patient as well. I totally recommend this place to the special needs community as well as the neurotypical community. If you want professional trainers with a warm heart!! Go here!!

We have been with NJswim lakeside since our daughter was 3 months. She is 4 now and has over come her fear of water, and it’s such a relief to see how far she’s come. We love all the staff at lakeside. They are always well aware of my daughters skills when her teacher is absent. I feel so comfortable knowing they are take such pride in what they do. We will be staying with lakeside for the long haul. I would name all the staff that had made an impact on us but I’d have to list everyone. We transferred from Goldfish Swim School and wow what a difference. The small pool size was much less intimidating. The viewing area was much clearer for parents to watch lessons. My daughter had such a great time and can’t wait to go back. I had to bribe her to get her to go to swim at Goldfish. Thank you!!

My son Jackson has always been afraid of the water (besides bathtime) every thing from 1 inch of water in a baby pool to a large in ground pool, to even a fun bright colored sprinkler. I asked a family member for swim lessons for Christmas in 2018 and enrolled jackson right away. For about 8 classes he screamed, cried, even yelled he had to use the bathroom in such fear, as a parent it was so hard to witness and embarrassing to say the least. I thought in no time I would be giving up on the swim lessons and just accepting that he is not a water lover, but something told me that I cant let him grow up this way because god forbid the worst nightmare of drowning happens. After some time, jackson started to settle down with the screaming and started to enjoy and look forward to going. The team at nj swim lakeside were always so patient and encouraging to help with his fears, especially Julia, Janie, Jess, and Sam. He loves going there now and has progressed tremendously. I highly recommend nj swim lakeside to anyone.

The staff at both NJswim Sparta and NJswim Lakeside are amazing! My daughter began her lessons afraid to even put her face in the water! She is now jumping off the side of the pool, diving for rings, and full of confidence! The instructors work at your child's pace and build a relationship with each child that develops a trust that allows them to grow as swimmers and confident kids. I can not recommend this program enough!

We love NJ Swim Lakeside! Everyone there has our son's best interest at heart! They really care and since he was 3 months old they have been showing us the best ways to keep our boy safe around water. They make it fun for the kids to learn and our son really is comfortable and loves the water. We couldn't be more happy.
