I have been suffering with high blood pressure for a long time and have tried different workouts to help reduce it with no results. After the initial strategy session with Coach Adam from Own Your Fitness, he explained exactly what the reasons and blind spots are. After the original assessment/diagnosis, he customized exercises and how someone at my level should do them. Thankfully, I am now able to do pushups and lunges and so be consistent with them during the week. He checks in with me regularly and keeps progressing me for my strength training. He also recommends tips on how to slowly improve my nutrition. I was never able to do this before. My blood pressure was low for the first time, and it's only been 3 weeks! I've also lost 3 lbs and feel so much stronger. I am looking forward to more results.

Great experience training with Coach Adam! He manages to motivate without being pushy--although he'll certainly get you to push yourself without pushing yourself too hard. I was recovering from a back injury when I first started working with him and was amazed at how much we were able to do to strengthen my back (I'm now pain-free!) while also meeting my primary fitness goals of losing weight and getting into better shape. Book your sessions with Coach Adam as soon as possible! He is great! He really takes the time to do a personal assessment of your strengths and weaknesses before beginning your workout regime. It’s been 2 months so far, and I’ve never felt stronger than I do now. We started off with body weights so I can build my strength and now that I’ve progressed onto actual weights, even though the workouts get more challenging as the weeks go by, I’m starting to see actual results! He also will work around your schedule and all you need is 30-40 mins, which is great for someone like me who is constantly working and needing to find time. Working out via his format has led me to be healthier and happier. I can’t wait to see what my results will be like towards the end of the program, and take what I’ve learned to carry on my fitness journey!

Five stars!! I have gained a lot of weight over the years due to stress eating and an overall unhealthy lifestyle. Tried a few trainers before this, but they weren’t really able to help motivate me. Starting a journey can often be overwhelming. If you’re looking to make a change in your life, it can be hard especially when there is so much out there. Before I started this program, I was very unsure of what I could do again as a new and working mother. I knew that getting back into fitness was something I wanted, and needed but I wasn’t getting it right. I’ve tried previous programs, and the didn’t stick. A few weeks into this process, I know exactly why. I lacked the guidance. Having a coach will change the way you see your own ability to perform in the gym. It takes the fear factor out of what you think you cannot do. It takes guess work out of the equation. You’re not guessing, you working towards building yourself. In a paced manner. If you’re looking for a program to actually help you with your body and mindset, talk to Coach Adam. Not only is he very well experienced, he can very well show you how to improve yourself in very little time. If you make the time, you can achieve a lot with this program. It doesn’t take a long time to feel the difference or to build a mind muscle connection. You just have to be willing to try. Everyone has their own obstacles to face. Adam is a great fitness coach. I attended his HIIT classes several times a week and improved my fitness tremendously in various aspects such as Push-ups, Planks, Squats, Burpees, etc.

- highly customized - they personalized and updated my plan on what seemed like a weekly basis to account for my progress and any kind of muscle group flare ups
- high communication - they always checked in to see where I was at, and make sure the plan fit ME and not the other way around

The coach has been great. The workouts are short and intense. It’s tough getting up early, but I always feel great afterwards and it’s a nice way to start the day. The coach has been amazing. I was initially skeptical about the virtual format. But he has been very attentive to form and ensuring the biomechanics are correct. An added bonus is my son is still asleep in his (or my) bed and I get in a quality workout. I have been training for over six months and the change in my strength is remarkable. Also, although waking up at 5:15am to get in a morning workout is not fun, I always feel better and likely make better choices for my physical health throughout the day/week because of my commitment to myself. Own your fitness is one of the best personal Training experience! Within 4 weeks j was already doing pushups and doing perfect core workouts. This workout plan is no joke. When I first started, I thought to myself that there was no way that I could wake up Mon, Wed, and Fri at 6am to workout because I would not consider myself a morning person. But now I’ve been doing this for almost 2 months and I’ve never felt better. On the days that I don’t have morning class, Coach sends me workout plans through the portal which keep me motivated. One of the best personal training experiences in jersey city and online. My knee was a severe issue and I had gained weight due to it. Own your fitness from the time of the strategy session to the time of the 3 month knee rehab process I was happy every session. The head strategist coach talked with me and discussed the deep issues with my weight loss and my lack of motivation. Given I am a beginner to strength training they helped me match with the right coach and she was able to coach me on zoom better than most trainers coach in person. Coach Anya was awesome! I have lost 12 lbs in just 5 weeks and toned up my gluteus, arms, and back fat in addition to having a flatter stomach. Over the years I have worked with three personal trainers. My experience with Own Your Fitness has been the best. My trainer knows what I can do and has safely pushed me to steady improvement. Own your fitness is by far the best personal fitness coaching service in the jersey city Hoboken and the tribeca nyc area. Extremely experienced and professional and by far very knowledgeable. They do virtual and online personal training because of Covid and their experience and workouts are no different from in person personal training. The founder of Own Your Fitness, Adam, has been instrumental in helping me to get on track with my fitness and nutrition. Regarding nutrition, as an emotional binge eater (especially of refined sugar, as in cake, cookies, ice cream, chocolate, and on and on and on), I needed help with both stopping the binge eating and starting healthy, consistent eating habits. I have been logging and Adam has been tracking on a daily basis what I eat, how much I eat, when I eat, and how I am feeling about my eating. He makes suggestions after I submit every log to help me to make small adjustments to my eating behaviors with the goal of establishing good overall eating habits over time. He keeps me accountable, which is a crucial part of this nutrition and fitness plan for me. Unfortunately, until now, I have not had the self-discipline to do the right things with respect to food and exercise. Adam and I are building that internal mechanism every day.
Regarding the fitness side, I started working with Adam in-person in the gym in my building and then continued to work with him virtually after the quarantine started. I was actually hesitant to work via videoconference, as I doubted it would be of the same quality/efficacy. As soon as I agreed to try it and we started on Zoom, I knew I had nothing to worry about! In-person and online, Adam knows how to meet me where I'm at in terms of my fitness level while also challenging me to push myself hard. He doesn't have much tolerance for whining but is not aggressive or hostile when I'm being a baby. He just pushes me to go a little harder based on what he knows I can handle. In short, Adam is passionate, punctual, knowledgable (he really knows how to customize a plan for the individual), reachable (voice, email, text, etc.), encouraging, experienced, attentive, kind, and nonjudgmental.
I have been feeling better every day since starting with Adam. What does feeling better actually mean for me? My moods are more consistent, I do not have uncontrollable cravings for carbs and fat, my skin is better, my self-esteem is higher because I am finally in control of what goes into my body, my portions are a normal size (I used to binge on things other than fat and carbs, too!), my sleep is better (I am not waking up in a pool of sweat from a carb binge the night before), my waking up is easier (no food hangovers), I have more energy for workouts and never have to use the excuse that I am "sick" from eating too much, my body shape is slowly improving (I'm no spring chicken and understand that this progress will be slow but steady if I keep doing what Adam is recommending), and I am spending less money on the crap that used to provide very temporary relief from cravings, only to be followed by pain, demoralization, and, of course, more cravings.

I about 2 weeks into the fitness and nutrition coaching program with Adam and can feel the improvement in my fitness already. I’ve never been the most physically activity person and being 5 months postpartum, was eager to get healthy and back in shape. Im seeing great results with Adam. I primarily reached out because I am training to compete in a pageant, but I also wanted to take my fitness more seriously. I normally don't write reviews and have gone through many trainers in the past couple years. As a professional model in NYC it is crucial to constantly maintain a healthy and fit physique. This is to ensure that clothes continue to fit correctly and the agency you're signed with wants to continue investing in you. I am writing this to not only share the respect I have for both people who have helped me along the way, but to share my new insight provided by Adam to hit goals and prep for modeling jobs weeks before. I have worked with Adam and Anya now for about a month. To give some context I first contacted Adam when I moved to Paulus Hook to get into top shape for a campaign shoot in Miami. Before meeting Adam I wasn't aware that a fast track to seeing results could happen in literally 10 days. After my nutrition session which was something I desperately needed followed by a rigorous training camp with Anya and a new diet routine I saw results the next day. I was shocked at how fast something worked for me but its because of the way Adam designed a personalized plan tailored to meet my goals that it became successful. I would be lying if I said it was even remotely easy so be prepared to get your ass beat in the best way possible. Adam gave me the confidence, mental state, and tools to prepare for each shoot moving forward the best way possible, with a 10 day routine tailored to my lifestyle and career path. No trainer I have had in the past has taken the level of support and 1-1 focus on me like Adam and Anya do. I still continue to train and talk with both of them on a daily basis. Adam and his team has been pretty great from the very beginning. I have tried working out on my own and used several apps for a year or so, but none of them gave me the results I wanted and needed. Adam calls me a "hard-gainer" in which I've had trouble gaining weight and muscles (yep! we exist!). But with the training I've received from the team, I've seen so many improvements: toned upper body and thighs, proper form, and pretty good posture! Great workout sessions:
- learnt how to lift weights correctly. Posture, breathing, muscle groups to exercise
- learnt different types of complementary exercises for arms and legs, and benefits of contraction and expansion of muscles when working out

For years I've struggled back pain, knee pain, and shoulder pain through intense workout programs (Crossfit, Emily Skye, Ashy Bines and more), never meeting my fitness goals despite proper nutrition and following exercise programs perfectly.

I worked with Adam from Own Your Fitness before I left for my college soccer preseason this summer. He helped tremendously with my flexibility and range of motion in just a few sessions. He targeted my strength weaknesses and helped improve my form in my upper and low body. I feel that because of Adam I can target my muscles and work them in better form than I ever have before.

Adam is an excellent trainer and keeps me motivated and interested in my workout routine. I have never been able to consistently maintain a fitness program, but training with Adam I have been consistent in my routine for the past 9 months. When i first started training I couldn't even do one push-up. But after 9 months of training and Adam's encouragement, motivation, guidance and refusual to allow me to give every workout anything but my best, I am able to do more than 30 pushups and 5 unassisted pull-ups. I have been training with Adam for 9 months now. Adam is one of the most enthusiastic, energetic and passionate trainers I know. Adam takes the time to assess each client's individual goals and works painstakingly to tailor a program accordingly (no one size fits all approach). I come from an extensive fitness background, yet Adam has helped me fine tune my technique for several of the more technical lifts. I see Adam at the gym on a daily basis working with clients of varying fitness levels and a wide age range. The best metric for evaluating a trainer is the accountability and consistency he/she generates in their client's fitness regimens. Training the body is first and foremost about mental strength. Adam gets that. That allows his training sessions to be not just about developing physical fitness but also about using the mind to control the body. I am learning lessons in my sessions with him that I apply every day outside the gymn to become a better dad, husband and better at my job.
I have been training with Adam for 4 months. Over these 4 months, I have noticed a distinct change not only in my level of physical fitness but also in my mental energy and toughness. Life is changing for me for the better. And he has been a big part of that change.

I worked out with Adam for about 8 years and through 2 pregnancies. I had trained a little bit with professionals before but none as good as him. I was surprised at how training with Adam changed my body and my mindset as well. The harder I worked out, the more excited I became because I was seeing results quickly. Adam is really good at training each individual person and as you go through the process, you really do see how connected the mind and body are together. I grew more confident and saw results in my body throughout those years. Training is what you put in - you work hard, you see results. Adam is a great motivator and great teacher. I felt comfortable to take risks at the gym because I knew he was there to support me. And this all made me stronger. Excellent training sessions and amazing results! I hired Adam as my personal trainer since early this year and I worked out with him on every Saturday morning. He not only taught me a lot of great technics to build my muscle and core strength, but also pushed me hard to mentally challenge myself. I started attending the H.I.I.T me (high intensity class 2 years ago and it's the only group training class in Jersey City that offers personal attention, great workout, great energy ,proper form and real motivation. It is taught by experienced personal trainers and motivators.

As a healthcare provider (CRNA, APN) and a previous collegiate athlete, health and fitness have always been a priority in my life.
