My daughter is currently there for their tumbling class. The coach is super supportive, meeting child where they are. She has only been back two weeks and there is already progress!

I love it here, the staff are so nice. Many of them are young so itβs very helpful when trying to learn a technique. In the past gyms have had instructors that canβt show you the proper techniques. The gym it self is clean and big, the equipment isnβt dirty. I personally like how the gymnasts can pick what skill they want to learn, I have found that many gyms will have a certain skill that a class is supposed to learn together Itβs very good for gymnasts that are beginners or even advanced.

My daughter began her gymnastics career at this gym when she was in kindergarten. Immediately, she bonded with the friendly, young instructors who were not only knowledgeable and experienced, but patient, warm, and kind. She absolutely loved going to class. Her yearly Showtime was one of our favorite events! She's almost 14 now, and is a Level 6 USAG gymnast. She went from weekly classes after school to joining the in-house team, and eventually the competitive team. She has learned more than just gymnastics throughout the years at Paragon. She has learned that dedication and hard work are rewarded by not only medals but a strong body and a confident spirit. She has learned about sportsmanship, made life-long friendships, and grown into a strong, confident, skilled gymnast. The coaches at Paragon are dedicated to helping their students become the best they can be. We love Paragon!

My daughters have been going to Paragon for the past few years after having bounced around at other local gymnastics schools. This past weekend they had their class Showtime. I was super impressed! Everything was well organized, the event ran smoothly and there was so much positive energy in the gym! My girls received the most adorable leos, a white rose, and a trophy! They were thrilled! The gym is affordable compared to others, the office staff is polite and helpful with answering questions and the instructors are knowledgeable and most importantly enthusiastic with my daughters!

We have been bringing our 3 kids to Paragon for almost 10 years. We have been lucky enough to experience all of the opportunities Paragon has to offer. We have had nothing but a wonderful experience. Their staff is first rate - kind, competent, and compassionate. I can't say enough good things about this well established, enduring gym. It has truly become a second home to my kids.

My daughter's bday party was scheduled for this Sunday (booked a month ago) and Paragon Gymnastics in Norwood said they can't do her party now (today is Wednesday) because their "insurance doesn't cover special needs kids" (exact words that they said to me). So now I need to find a new venue. So disgusting! Birthday Party Agreement clearly states shadows are allowed but when I brought up, excuse was it only applies to classes not birthday parties....Ok...I guess agreement needs to be updated or they need to school themselves on their own agreement.

Our 4-year old son and 5-year old daughter went for many weeks to this gym, and they loved it. It's a beautiful facility, well-attended, and the staff is nice and overall very positiive. But one day our daughter came home frightened, and she told us one of the staff said some things to another boy in her line that scared her. The boy was misbehaving, and the staff member said "I will put you in a garbage can and cover this lid so no one can find you". She was upset, she said she "got scared" from hearing this from the staff. So I contacted the school and spoke to the owner (Dottie). She was horrified to hear this and said we should all meet and discuss it with the staff member. She said this was grounds for termination. She figured out by my daughters description who the staff member was. We set up a meeting for Monday.
The weekend passed, and on Monday the school cancelled the meeting - saying the staff member was out sick. We rescheduled for Tuesday, same thing. I was told to call Wednesday, and I reached the owner. She asked me why I want to meet with this "poor little girl" who was worried sick about this issue? She angrily said she will not allow me anywhere near her, and if I come to the school she will call the police. She told me the words my daughter heard were never said. I asked how that could be, my daughter was frightened and very specific about what had happened. She then changed her story and asked me what is wrong with my daughter, why can't she handle someone joking around?
I couldn't believe she was shifting the blame to my child. I told her that my daughter attends soccer, baseball, basketball, girl scouts, summer camp, plenty of other activities with no problems, so I don't believe she is overly sensitive or easily frightened. The bottom line is, the owner of this school could not function when faced with an issue that could be very easily solved for the better of both sides. What was said by the staff member to these toddler-aged kids was clearly inappropriate. "I will put you in a garbage can and cover the lid so no one will find you" is disturbingly specific, I therefore have little doubt about my daughter's recollection. But people make mistakes, people can say stupid things, it's not the end of the world. What better lesson for my 5-year old daughter than to meet with the girl who scared her, talk it out, hear an "I'm sorry"? Maybe my daughter did misunderstand something, and it could be explained. But how was it solved? By threatening me and, worst of all, choosing to blame the child. I could not believe she made the choice to stoop that low, rather than follow through with the complaint. It is beyond comprehension that someone with judgement this poor is running a large gymnastics school.
My story has a simple ending, we withdrew both kids from Paragon and all of our money was refunded immediately. We enrolled at Galaxy in Orangeburg, and the kids loved the new school. But this experience at Paragon haunts me. What if, God forbid, something worse ever happens at that school? An environment with dozens of staff members, hundreds of young children? Things can happen and children can get hurt. An owner who cannot behave rationally when faced with a verbal incident? If anything happens, you can be sure they will not be on your side.
