Today, one of the staff members asked me to put on my shoes for safety while I was squatting at the bar, but I think if they're asking me to put on my shoes, why do they allow other people to enter the gym wearing beach sandals or cross shoes?

I think it's time to implement rules, such as wearing the correct clothing to the gym, or even start using an alarm when people drop discs or make exaggerated sounds...

Also, letting people enter the gym in droves to waste time and making us waste time when we come to train.

Lately, homeless people have been taking over the bathrooms and showers, and we can't use the locker rooms. They should take measures to address this. I'm not saying they should ban them from using the bathrooms, but they should use them within a reasonable timeframe for everyone in general.

This is a Super Relaxing Gym. It's so important to work on our health.
I am going to the gym because of weight control & it really helps my knees with alleviating the arthritis that I am trying to fight off.
If one has ever had an accident or injury(fall), then it can affect us later in life. Arthritis can set in. I recommend exercise.
Daily Stressors add on to us and that is toxins in our bodies physically and mentally.
Let the gym start slowly working out & through all the toxins in our bodies.
Our bodies are more intricately wired than a car.
There's a lot of " Complex Information" all stored in us that we all need to filter through and out.

Love the new renovation! The gym looks amazing with old machines replaced by new, upgraded ones, and anything that was broken is now fixed. They’ve added two deadlift platforms, two squat racks, and completely redone the yellow room into a smaller lifting space that’s great for beginners.

I’ve seen some people say their favorite machines were removed or that it feels disorganized, but honestly, most machines were replaced with better versions—and like any gym, equipment isn’t perfectly grouped. Even nearby gyms are laid out this way, and walking between areas just adds some extra cardio.

Some awesome upgrades include smoother row machines, lat pulldowns, Smith machines, calf and preacher curl machines, plus incline press and chest press upgrades. The abduction and adduction machines are also new, and there’s still plenty of cardio equipment and assisted machines.

Only thing I’d suggest is adding a plate rack for 2.5 and 5 lb weights in the back room with the squat racks. Overall, this is by far the best renovation yet!

What do you do when your membership is growing? - remove a large amount of machines. How does that make sense? I wonder who planned the new layout because it's terrible! It really pains me to write a negative review because this has been my happy place for years. The gym is always clean, no bad smell, the staff is always nice, etc. However, seeing the new layout is a huge
disappointment. 2 people already told me this morning that they’re leaving and joining the gym across the street. I can live with less machines (it's not right, but moving on), but they are no longer grouped together by body part. So if I'm working on legs, and I see that a machine is being used, I have to go all the way across the gym to see if another leg machine is available. I don’t have time to walk across the gym to see if machines are available. PS I come in at 4:30 in the morning and it’s still hard to find available machines. In addition to lots of weight machines being removed, there are still many that are broken! I thought they would at least repair them when they closed the gym but they didn’t.
Anyway, I see that corporate is telling everyone to contact the manager. Please forward this to her because I’m not there at when she’s there and I’m not able to make phone calls at work and there isn’t an email address to be found.

The remodel is absolutely terrible, the placement of machines for each workout is spread throughout the whole place walking from one side of the gym to another, the normal stretching area is smack down in the middle of the floor in the back, you removed to vital back workout machines, who ever was in charge of this remodel has no clue what they are doing. Canceled my membership and moved to LA Fitness.

I can’t believe I even have to write this. I’ve never had an issue at any gym before — until now. My husband and I were quietly walking side by side on the treadmills, having a normal, non-political, non-confrontational conversation. About 10 minutes in, a man five treadmills away took off his headphones and very rudely told us to lower our voices and move because he could hear us through his headphones.

We were shocked, but stayed calm. I replied that we weren’t doing anything wrong and didn’t feel the need to move. That’s when things took a disgusting turn. He asked me if I was “retarded” and repeatedly called me a “fatty” — even in front of a gym employee, who said and did nothing.

To make this even more painful, my husband and I recently experienced the loss of our baby. I came to that gym to take care of my body and my mental health in the wake of postpartum grief. Being attacked and body-shamed so viciously — especially in front of others — was humiliating and heartbreaking.

We left on our own, but we will never go back. Shame on that man. And shame on any establishment that allows harassment like this to happen unchecked.

My home PF is closed for renovation so I drove to this Brick location on Friday. Shame it’s so far for me because it was great! Staff very friendly. No long wait for equipment. Imagine having to pay for a membership when planet fitness has opened the doors for teenagers to work out for free all summer long. Having to deal with the hordes of teenagers who come through sit on machines have no gym etiquette but every month you’ve gotta pay for your black card membership and they work for free. As both black card members, my fiancé and I drove out here to use their tanning booths, Saturday, May 24 at 2:45pm. We have been here before without a problem. We primarily go to Planet Fitness on Rt 88, Brick.
We scanned upon entry and went to check in for tanning. My picture comes up on the screen but I was told I need ID. I didn’t bring it. My fiancé drove. Last thing I want is to bring my wallet and ID into a gym and have it stolen. The older blond woman, skinny with glasses had no compassion. My picture was on the screen! But she sent me away. I am insulted! Rude! The woman that is often there during the week and the man there as well, are always so sweet.
Beware members! You can pay for the upgraded membership but can be treated like you stole you your own identity. My picture was on the screen. You need more proof than my membership scan card with my picture???
Although my fiancé had his Drivers license in his truck, he was not going to get it with her turning me away. Ridiculous!
I will stick with Rt 88.

Very good experience for a planet fitness. People at front desk are nice and it's open 24/7 which is huge for me if I am going early in the mornings. Cheap membership costs but less selection on weights. Busy on most weekends but never so jammed up so much where it becomes uncomfortable. I need a little more when it comes to weight but it gets the job done. Tanning beds redlight and massage chairs for 10 extra bucks a month. Can't beat it. Definitely worth the cost. "Messaging" throughout is annoying at every PF but it's very well managed as opposed to others. Mostly older crowd; it fits the population of the area.

The people at the front desk at your fitness center are the BEST! They are a great team of employees and reflect very well on your gym. Tracy is always smiling and so friendly! She is such a hard worker!! Danny is.a great guy and very helpful and has a great sense of humor! Chris.is a nice kid and always is making good recommendations. Sue is always friendly and welcoming when I work out and use the Black card facilities. Even Doreen who I give a lot of fun grief too is always willing to help me enjoy my Black Card membership and set me up in the tanning room or on a massage chair (after giving me back some playful grief)!

I've been to a few PF locations, but I can confidently say this one stands out for being clean. I originally started coming to this location because they were the ONLY ones able to resolve a payment issue another location made. The other location had been double charging me each month and would give me the runaround. However, a manager fixed the problem immediately once I explained the situation to her. The hardest part to working out too is often just getting to the gym, but I love all the staff here. They make me look forward to my gym days. Joe always greets everyone with a smile, Sue is always nice and remembers things, and the manager who is there around 6 pm is friendly and super helpful. Everyone is quick to help all you literally have to do is ask. They for real make my experience so much better!

I belong to another gym and recently joined Planet.

PF 55 Brick Blvd is a great place to workout. The Staff is awesome and they are always smiling and helping everyone. Their constant cleaning and making sure all Sanitizing Stations are full and available for use. I've always had a great experience at the Brick Planet Fitness location, but I have to express disappointment with a recent situation, which is definitely more of a corporate issue than the local gym’s fault.

Without any notification about a policy change, I encountered a frustrating situation. When I checked in at the Wayne location on the 20th, I was notified of my monthly balance, which I immediately paid. However, the next day (the 21st), a $15 late fee appeared on my account with no explanation in the app. It wasn’t until I checked in at the Brick location today that I learned Planet Fitness had reduced the grace period from 7 days to 3, and increased the late fee from $10 to $15.

What’s even more confusing is that they count the 17th (the day they pull payment) as "day one," meaning the 19th was considered the "third" day. But if I was already considered delinquent on the 19th, why wasn’t I notified or charged the fee when I paid my balance on the 20th? Instead, the late fee showed up the day after I had already paid, which feels unfair and confusing.

That said, the manager at the Brick location was completely understanding and empathetic toward my situation. The star rating reflects my frustration with corporate’s poor communication with members and has nothing to do with this location. As for the Brick location itself, it's always been clean and well-maintained with friendly staff, so no issues there!

Edit: Response pointed me in the direction of the holiday hours. It's quite out of the way considering the other avenues (eg. Google maps, the PF app) through which it could be accessible; but I won't let that drag down this review. The gym is great and the staff are super kind! Hopefully the holiday hours at least make their way to Google maps or something that's a little more accessible than a small link on their PF location page.

VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. These people are now charging $15 dollars for a late fee with a 3 day grace period. Instead of $10 and a 5 day grace period. No warnings. I admit that some of my payments have been late but they have taken an extra $10 dollars from my bank account for late fees. It is not as if it has been a free service/courtesy. They purposely do not allow you to pay the gym membership in full in order to collect late fees off of peope to make more money. They have NOT provided me any courtesy when they have been taking an extra $10 from my account every month. I spoke with them about this sudden $15 late fee that was with the 5 day grace period and they said they would not provide me the one time courtesy of removing this fee. They stated they have no obligation to warn people and can change the contract terms at any time. They would rather lose a customer than provide a one time courtesy. If I pay late and you are taking an extra $10 plus monthy fee from my bank account , you are NOT providing me a courtesy. It is NOT free and you are making more money off of me at the end of the day. Hence the reason they do not let you pay the membership in full for the year. EXTREMELY poor customer service. There are plenty of negative reviews on the internet of this company taking out more money from people's bank account even after they cancel. Watch your bank statement because they love to take extra money out of your account for B.S fees.

Toms River Brick blvd location. Its a big space. Never have a problem getting a machine. Always very clean. Check in desk acknowledges you with a warm greeting when you walk in.

The bathrooms need to be changed out to real plumbing fixtures instead of the so-called water saving nonsense. They never work satisfactorily and the locker rooms, sinks and countertops should be wiped down and cleaned regularly. It's pretty disgusting at times.

I really enjoy going to Planet Fitness, I really wish they started offering Heavy Bags or equipment for Cardio Boxing/Kickboxing. Other than that, it’s a great place to get a decent workout.

They allow high school students to work out free for the summer.
That's good for everyone except the paying customer.
They sit at a machine on their phones for 20 minutes.
Also, Planet Fitness is a woke company.
Signs outside the restrooms allow anyone to use the bathroom they identify as.
Very uncomfortable for my daughter to walk into the restroom and see a male.
I am in the process of switching to LA Fitness.
