They have a good spa more than a few of the massage offerings the cryo wasn't working but it's ok. The machines were good fhey have a good mix of tried and true and new machines. I'll visit again. They had a mid crowd the air was okay but could definitely get stuffy.

My favorite gym. Close to my job so I can go after work. Never crowed. Sundays are like a private gym for yourself. Looks brand new and clean all the time. Only thing I'd change is the bathroom sink. Poor design and always wet.

I give this gym a one star soley on the front desk staff. The women who stands and stares at a computer is very rude and quite condescending. I asked if my friend and I could use the hot/cold chair that is in the black card room. I am trying to decide if it’s worth it to upgrade. I did use the massage chairs one time because the chair I wanted to try was out of service. She all but embarrassed me in front of her staff saying I know you, you already used your one time courtesy use. I do not disagree but politely told her the chair I was curious about was broke. She stared at me all the way out of door. Is this the no judgement zone your gym advertises? I did feel quite judged as if I was pulling a fast one to abuse your one time courtesy. Your trainer and other staff are very nice and helpful thankfully. Please don’t answer with a BOT reply.

Clean and not crowded, staff is nice, very little equipment. 3 of the same hip adduction machines but no hack squat or decline press machine. This location does not have the plate loaded equipment advertised online.

August 21, 2025- Be wary of their process of yearly membership plans at this new location on Route 27 Colonia, NJ, opened this past April 2025.

Today, I stopped by to check it out. Annual membership is $466.83 for the PF Black Card; $318.81 for the Classic Membership. I always opt to pay in full for a year as I have read about the difficulties in cancellation on the monthly payment at many gyms. Who needs the headaches.

Classic $15.00 monthly

As explained to me by the female manager - NO CASHIERS CHECK: NO MONEY ORDERS, NO CREDIT CARDS.

The assistant manager doesn’t speak english well as she was rude answering the phone. the question that was asked was what is the policy if the black card holder and spouse as guest comes into enjoy a workout. Only the black card holder is allowed to use the spa features meaning the guest now has to sit outside for 10 minutes while the black card member enjoys the spa perks that was the question that was not answered I also explained to assistant manager that while visiting another location, myself as the black card holder, and my spouse as the guest was able to go into the spa room together, and I was told no that didn’t happen. How can an assistant manager from a Colonia NJ location tell me no that didn’t happen when she wasn’t there at the Woodbridge NJ location when we were going there before. Correct me if I’m wrong but that sounds like I was being Judged and Planet Fitness is suppose to be a Judgement Free Zone gym. The staff also needs to be trained more on the guidelines and policies of Planet Fitness. I also left my contact information yesterday 7/24/25 after we’ve left the gym to have the Manager of the Club to contact me and obviously the staff did not refer my contact information to the manager of the club that is so unprofessional we pay our hard earned money to go to that gym for my wife to be discriminated against for the use of the spa area. Again at the Woodbridge NJ location we both were able to use the spa with no problem so between the Woodbridge NJ gym and Colonia NJ planet fitness gym someone is lying. And the Manager still haven’t reached out to me after I asked the staff and assistant manager for her to give me a call.

Not sure why the other reviews are so low but this gym is SO clean, new, and has all the machines you’ll need. It’s usually empty and doesn’t get crowded like LA and there’s like 5-6 cable machines+many of the same ropes, bars, etc. Amazing gym 😁

Took MONTHS to open just for them to only have 3 mats to stretch and do floor exercises on. Not to mention those 3 mats are ripped and used mats from other planet fitness locations. They don’t even have a proper place to hang them. They are just draped over metal bars that are clearly there to assist with stretching. The gym has been open for months now and there are still only 3 stretching/floor mats to work with. ITS RIDICULOUS!

The management staff is very friendly, especially the manager who’s there I can’t remember his name but I will get it greets you by your name ask you how your day going nice cleaning environment. Best of all out of all the other planet fitness I’ve been Two this is the only one that actually enforces the rules of regulations. No one is wearing flip-flops or sandals. Everyone is in sneakers proper workout attire I wish all the other planet fitness will follow this managers example. Saw a young lady today worked at the planet fitness actually step up and boss regulations and rules footwear. She must be new employee, but she sped up to one of the client and told him he had to leave because it was Papa. I haven’t seen that done in the south Amboy one to stay available. See the nose on the Woodbridge on the planet fitness in medicine one I seen it done in Colonia

General staff is easy going and doesn’t create inconveniences unlike the manager of this place. One day I entered wearing closed toed shoes that I had worn here and there when I had forgotten a pair of sneakers. I was told I could not work out in my shoes which was weird because in the past week I had worked out in these same exact shoes and was never told that I needed to change my shoes. Manager had an incredibly rude approach and created a great inconvenience for me.

It’s a newly opened gym with new machines and instruments and crowd is less. So, it is good that it has less crowd and new machines, so it will give you feel of personal gym where there is no much pressure to leave machine for another in queue. You can take your time and have gym relaxed mind.

There are offering 2 plans - one is classic and another one is black card. For those, who doesn’t have anyone to bring and not going to use other facilities then black card membership is costly. Only advantage for black card is that - you can use massage machines and chairs. They should have some plan which is in between classic and black card. They just can’t charge $15 per month extra to use machines because classic is $15 and black card is $29.99. So, if you take black card and don’t have anyone to bring and not using any other facility, you ended up paying $15 extra just to use massage chairs. Thats make black card membership slightly costly .

Their bathrooms are new and clean. But their tanning machines are not ready yet even though they are charging full monthly amount.

They have full body currently circuits which is good.

Club finally opened this past weekend April 5-6, 2025. (No more 1 star reviews lol). Nice locker room and shower area. Convenient bank of small square lockers in the main area for storing small personal items. Black card spa has a new cryo lounger for cold and heat. New functional fitness area with TRX straps and medicine balls, but no 30 minute circuit area
