I'll begin with the positive...the staff is welcoming and friendly, it's kept clean, and the weights are always racked.

Being that i have been to several locations I'd say this one lacks quite a few things....it's way too bright (especially in the day) when there's sufficient natural light. The room straight to the back with just one piece of equipment is wasted space. There should be more free weights and mirrors. All other locations have mirrors in front of their smith machines. This one has ZERO. People like to see their form.
Lastly, the mats should be hung up or have placement other than the floor.

I like this location a lot, but my only issue that i have with it is that its not a 24 hour gym like the one over in Hazlet I signed up over there initially but i moved closer to the old bridge/ east brunswick area its kind of limiting to know i only have 3 hours after i get off work to squeeze in time to work out.

Unfortunately I go here because it’s on my way home from work. The workers are very nice but the equipment is terrible compared to the other planets fitness I have gone too.One fly machine and it’s been broken over a month. The place needs a complete upgrade like the other planet fitness I have gone too. New machines decline and incline machines peloton etc. very disappointing compared to others.

It has been quite a long time since I’ve seen any updates or improvements to the machines. Specifically, there is a noticeable lack of variety and availability when it comes to chest exercise machines. I know that some other Planet Fitness locations have introduced newer chest machines, but unfortunately, my gym has yet to receive them. It’s often a struggle to find an available chest machine, and the limited options can be very frustrating during workouts.

In addition, many of the bars used for back exercises — especially those used for lat pulldown and similar machines — are in rough condition. The rubber grips are damaged or misplaced, which affects usability and comfort. These bars clearly should have been replaced a long time ago.

TERRIBLE experience. me and my friend came in to work out and as soon as we walked through the door we could already tell the manager had an issue with us coming in. The male employee helping us at the desk was extremely nice and was assisting us. He was having trouble finding our information and we were being very patient and giving him additional information. The manager who was a white female named FARAH walks up to me and my friend, 2 african american females, being very nasty saying we did not have a membership and assumed we were lying. We politely tried to explain to her that we do have a membership and we were confused on why she was being so rude and blowing it out of proportion.We did not need her input since the employee was assisting us already. She then tried to begin an argument and told us to leave several times because she “didn’t like the way we were speaking”. We were genuinely confused because we were talking as nice as possible trying to figure out the situation to better accommodate it. Planet fitness represents themselves as a safe place and a no judgement zone, it felt like she was looking for an issue as soon as we walked in.This made us feel very uncomfortable and felt like racism since she was being very polite and kind to the white guest prior to us.

Watch out for extra fees. I noticed on my statement that was I was getting charged twice a month last year for some random months. Finally this week I went to cancel and they saw a $20 outstanding amount on my account. I have an auto debit on my account and they said it was a late fee. Which did not make any sense

They brought in their manager who said it's late fees bcoz my bank Discover made late payments! I have heard excuses before for business to charge you fees, but blaming big bank for "paying them late" for not on my list

She wouldn't let me cancel my account unless I paid the $20. And it seems the late fees was from a year ago and so I couldn't even debate with my bank because I do see payment made by the bank correctly.

My 3mnth old baby was in the car with my wife and this was going back-forth for 30mins with the manager demanding $20 to close my account

I folded and paid them the $20 ransom so I can get my account closed, else they would charge me every month again. Will not recommend

The people who work here are nice and the place is clean. However, the wifi is consistently awful. You were able to be use the wifi with some issues when the place didn’t have many people. However, the last time I was in, the PF was pretty empty and I still couldn’t use the wifi. There are other nearby locations with the same cleanliness, nice people, and with better wifi while you work out.

The fact that it was sold as a 24 hr gym and it no longer is, coupled with the fact that the people meter is Never a good indicator of how busy it is, SUX!
I appreciate your attempt to provide a reply however neutral as it was. But when I signed up, it was 24 hours, a convenient time for me is outside your revised hours, changed due to COVID & never returned to 24 hours when COVID emergency was over. Now it's often so crowded it's frustrating. Believe me I'll be looking at Edison's Planet fitness or Marlboro to see if they offer 24 hours.

Literally the first time I had to use a locker without a lock someone went in my bag and stole all my cash on Christmas eve and now have to cancel all my cards. Cancelled my son’s membership many months ago. They keep charging my debit card the monthly fee. Went to this gym three times to try and discontinue this erroneous billing. They acknowledge his membership is canceled, but can’t figure out how to stop the billing.

They assured me a manager will look into it and call me. Manager never called nor did anything to fix it as they continue to charge my card. I will now have to go to my bank and cancel my debit card to stop paying for something I don’t have.

The TRX straps have just been removed from the back room. I was informed that someone on the management team thought it was dangerous? TRX was designed to be used anywhere (travel gym), it even has an foam attachment that can used between a door jam. The latch allows you to attach it to any stable pole, fence, and or tree. You don't need a special bar to attach it to like some gyms have. The equipment it was attached in the back was perfectly stable, please put it back! It would also be nice to replace the medicine ball that was cracked/broken over a year ago. Other PF locations have at least one ball.

If you just want to membership so you feel like you are doing something, this is a place for you. If you actually want to work out, join a local gym. The crowds are apathetic and inconsiderate, and the staff is the same you will see at a big box store, so no form of rules are enforced.

Throw in the crazy political nonsense, like what they did with the covid Insanity and now allowing men and the ladies locker room and you get the idea...

This Planet Fitness does not care about its members. The water filter doesn’t get replaced. When asked if Planet Fitness could compensate members for no clean water, they told me to buy water from their fridge. Equipment is either broken or missing from this gym. Workers stand on their phones and don’t change paper towels, spray, etc.

After going to this gym for almost three years there has always been issues at this place; whether it’s the water dispenser that doesn’t work properly, empty paper towel dispensers, the broken machines, as well as the urinals that are out of order, and even the doors that are used to get into the gym😂. What a joke! And some of these issues take weeks to get fixed. Not to mention the cable accessories that are always missing or damaged. The facility is also dirty; dust and grime on the machines constantly and today I found bugs crawling around the floor which was the last straw for me. For a place that always has staff “cleaning” they sure do a bad job at it. And when they do “clean” they always distract you by vacuuming or using their machine right under your feet and sometimes even make you move! I’m not the type of person to write a review or be a Karen but I feel this place deserves it. It’s well worth it to just go down the road to crunch for only $5 a month more.

Moved here recently and got a cheap membership. Worked out 4 times a week and thought it was fine. The dumbbell rack needs to get a good wipe down and not everyone cleans up their station, but that's a budget gym for yeah. I always kept my things locked up by the front, just to be safe, and never had anything stolen. Also, some stuff took a while to get fixed, which I didn't particularly mind. A few months later we got a dog and I didn't have time to work out for the foreseeable future. Cancellation was quick and smooth. I hope to return soon!

We're back to not fixing things again. This cable has been broken down for more than two months now, even though the sign on the machine says "temporarily out of order". There's also another machine nearby that has been out of order for about two weeks. Who holds the management at this gym accountable, especially for fixing simple cables? Worst gym, and I mean not just this location, the entire corporate environment. I warn others to be careful and check their policies before joining. They will allow you to join online, but they do not allow you to cancel online. That is ridiculous. Went in and canceled my my gym membership. I changed banked so I paid it up. But from the time I canceled after the tenth you pay another month. but can’t be in the gym. They told me I couldn’t change my payment method and won’t close out my account again and will charge me for another month I’m not allowed to workout there. The planet fitness in East Brunswick is the worst gym I’ve ever been to we have four memberships with them that we will be canceling. I’ve been to other planet fitness locations and the staff is nothing but friendly and helpful . The staff at East Brunswick is not only rude but they target kids my brother asked the staff a simple question and they threatened to call the police on him . As well as they harassed my dad as well as kicked him out of the gym for owing 10 dollars from two years ago that previously a staff member said he doesn't owe anymore that they would take it off the account as a curtesy. Out of respect my father said that he would pay the next day so it wouldn’t be an issue anymore and they wouldn’t allow it and made him leave the gym. On top of all that my dad asked them several times for the customer service number and they not only refused to give it to him they told him they are not allowed to give it out . They need new management and new staff.

Your valuables are not safe at Planet Fitness. Even though the price is cheap, do not go to this gym – the risk of losing your stuff, paired with unhelpful staff that do not care at all about their customers makes this one of the worst gyms you could possibly attend. I would highly recommend going to a slightly more expensive place where they don’t have absurd policies, and you don’t need to be concerned about being stolen off of.
My friend and I came and saw the “no bags on the floor” policy, which was odd considering no other gym I have been to has had such a rule. Because of it, we put our bags in the locker room lockers, only to find that all of our money had been stolen. We complained to the staff, whose only response was to purchase a $5 lock to prevent this from happening, despite the fact that one of the other staff members told us himself that there’s been a lot of theft at the gym, including people’s locks being cut and their valuables stolen. He also told us that people have lost THOUSANDS of dollars previously, and that all that could be done was to use the tiny lockers they have outside the locker room and hope you aren’t stolen off of there. The staff seemed as though they did not care whatsoever about not just our belongings being stolen, but also the many other customers that have had their property stolen as well.
Nothing is being done to address the amount of theft at Planet Fitness. The gym either needs to remove/not enforce the no bags on the floor policy, or make it very clear to their customers that their property is not secure, even with a normal lock, and that customers should go out of their way to independently purchase a lock that can’t be cut.

Annoyed with how they let high schoolers in for Free every summer, charge them $5 for those months. Find people that will actually work later hours, I find it ridiculous that they won’t go back to Pre-Pandemic Hours AKA 24 Hours 7-days a Week. My husband and I, who are both retired, joined PF about four months ago. Despite being older than most of the clientele, we feel comfortable and welcome there. We find this location spacious and clean. The courteous and helpful staff are readily available. We're always greeted upon check-in. The workout options satisfy every level of fitness and challenge.
We love the full body 30-minute workout, with one exception: despite a sign prominently posted at the entry to the room, people often come in and selectively use one or two of the machines and some don't wipe them off as required (signs are posted throughout the gym in every area). These machines are duplicates of those on the open floor. This rude behavior interferes with people doing the circuit. As with any communal space, common courtesy promotes a pleasant experience for everyone.
Also, I would love to see fitness classes added Monday through Thursday mornings. Currently, the trainer works afternoons and evenings on these days, except Fridays. Overall, a bargain for the membership cost!

I'm rating the Planet Fitness on Route 18 in East Brunswick. It's clean, and the staff is great. My daughter and I recently started going after leading very sedentary lifestyles, and they walked us through how we should approach it, showed us around the gym, and in general have been happy to answer any questions we have. There's one guy who's particularly great - I will find out his name again because he deserves recognition for a job well done.

Place is just a few years old. Maintenance is poor! Some items remain unusable for long time! Current such examples are chest press, left soap dispenser and the right hair drier in men's dressing room.
The showers take a long time for water to get hot, area is unheated/ chilling during fall and winter, lack any hooks for our towels or bags.
Reported the following additional issues to the staff on site:
- burned out lights at mirror in lockers room
- burned out lights in private dressing area by the showers
- mount of shower head falls apart in the handicapped shower
- handicap shower in use floods the entire area with standing water.
All of these problems have been here since about April 2022!!!
Lastly, hours were cut from the 7x24, and they remain cut to a 10 p.m. closing. We typically would be using club between 8 and midnight.

Has everything that most people would need to work out. I believe all planet fitness gyms uses machines, meaning don't expect a bench press or a squat rack, which is fine. Only thing I wish they have is a stretch cage. Been going for a few weeks and have no complaints. Staff has been friendly. Hasn't been too crowded. It's a clean and organized gym. Only thing weird is that this location doesn't allow you to pay your monthly fee with a credit card.

Just joined and the blad man who’s old with glasses was very rude. I just joined took me 2 hours to finally join. And he say we have to take the photo. U couldn’t hold off until I actually was ready to go to the gym. 😩😩😩 I joined cause he was so nice when I came with my celebrity friend.

There are only 4 weightlifter which they are alway busy with young kids ,and they keep playing with their phones and messages ,but they don,t leave the benches , this is really bad, everyone work 15 to 20 minutes that is good enough for weightlifting ,and give chance to the others , Thanks.

This location was good pre-covid. However, once they cut their hours, the quality has deteriorated significantly. There is no fathomable reason the gym can’t be open 24 hours, especially since two competitors just up the street (Jersey Strong and Crunch Fitness) have extended hours. The crowds are oftentimes unbearable, and one can spend more time waiting for machines/weights to free up than actually working out. I also don’t appreciate being charged the full monthly price when the gym is only open roughly half the hours.

Terrible staff!!
First of all, most of the time during the night shift there is no one in the front desk and the staff would be working out and I have to wait for them to come turn on one of the massage chairs for me. Secondly, I specifically asked one of the staff members 3 weeks before I wanted to cancel my membership about when is the right time to cancel because I’m moving out of state and he told me that I can cancel literally the day before I move and I shouldn’t have any issues. 2 days before I cancelled my policy they took $27 out of my account for membership fees so I asked to get a refund since I’m moving out of state and I paid for the month while I’m not going to be using the gym and the staff told me they can’t issue a refund and that the manager can do that for me and he comes in the mornings. I went in the morning and the manager was so rude and said he can’t issue a refund for me and that the staff is wrong so apparently The customer is the one paying for the staff’s fault!!!!!
I’m soo disappointed and I’ll never join this gym again!!

A bad gym but a gym none the less. This is a very beginner gym and has a unmotivating vibe in it. Want to get big? Go to somewhere like Crunch or Esporta where you are surrounded by body builders who will motivate you and help you fix your mistakes

Great amenities and clean environment. However, it seems that particular site has a policy which can get out of hand. I have been asked on three occasions already for a picture at the front desk for a profile. On the fourth occasion, I felt harassed and embarrassed when one of the staff members followed me to the floor asking me to come back to the front to take a picture again. I asked him respectfully to wait till I came back out there since I had already started working out. Same staff refused I used the massage chairs till I took said picture, proceeding to ask me for my number to pull up said profile wasting my time and ruining my energy in the process.

Just glad a gym is open and we're getting back to normal. I love the treadmills. Getting the black card for me was valuable as. I can bring my wife but also use the hydro massage beds and massage chairs. Clean facility. Wish they had more space in the locker rooms. Cleaning sprays
and paper towels are everywhere and I like that.

This is a FRANCHISE of Planet Fitness, not an actual Planet Fitness. That means their rules are different and they have different policies. Their equipment is more outdated than others. There are other gyms in the area with comparable pricing and will give you alot better of an experience. Also, if you try and cancel you will lose your access immediately even if you have already paid for the month. Their business model is not very friendly to consumers. The verdict here is simple. STAY AWAY. If you really want to join a Planet Fitness find an actual one that is run by corporate.

There is an employee that is harassing me. The mask rule in place for planet fitness is suppose to be for everyone but she kept focusing on me to put my mask over my nose when a lot of other people had it under their nose(or off completely).

There was a guy on the stairmaster that walked on it with his mask completely down for over 10 minutes she saw him and said nothing to him at all.

Yet she said something to me 3 times within a few minutes. What reason could she have for wanting to harass me and target me and be more strict with me over the other customers?
