Am very disappointed to tell you that , this location got no respect or love for members, last month with late monthly payment without being aware , Mohamed told me I can’t access the gym , I said it’s ok , I can pay tomorrow I only want to use bathroom & shower, this manger Mohamed followed at bathroom and shower, it was uncomfortable moment and I felt harassed , he immediately went I ahead and cancelled my membership without notice or warning, the following day i came to pay my monthly payment which was overdue and they processed and never reinstated my membership. They took my money and never reinstated my membership. This is unfair way of dealing with customers.

I’ve been coming to this gym for about 2 weeks and have not had any problems until 9/2/25. The customer service at the front was ghetto and unprofessional. Signed up for membership at Cedar Knolls and when I inquired about personal training, I was told that personal training comes with my Black Card membership. What a pleasant surprise!

I went to Watchung (closest to me) and they don't have one yet. They're very new, so they said they're still looking for one. That's fair. Called Springfield, same thing. They recommended Irvington.

When I called Irvington, the lady who answered was talking to a customer at the same time (without telling me to hold). Finally, she told me to hold, so I did, then she hung up. When I called back, I wasn't sure if I got the same person on the line. She told me they don't have personal trainers but they have fitness trainers. I told her yes, that's what I'm looking for. She told me I had to go there to LOOK at the schedule. BS. It's 2025, you should be able to give me the schedule on the phone without having me go there first.

I called East Hanover afterwards and the lady who answered there booked me for tomorrow at 1pm.

Needless to say, I do not recommend Irvington, and although someone is meeting me tomorrow to make a program for me at East Hanover, the "personal training comes with your membership" info I was told at Cedar Knolls is turning out to be quite inaccurate, which is disappointing.

This is in a convenient location with plenty of parking. The gym is very clean and the machines are in good condition. I like the 2 floor layout and I look forward to seeing Kenny at the front desk. He's always kind, welcoming and friendly. Hands down one of my favorite PFs in the area.

Rude unhelpful management‼️ PF Irvington is covering PF Elizabeth, which is closed for a few weeks (with no prior warning) due to renovation (read their reviews, they have no estimated reopening date). I am a member at Elizabeth, but unable to reach them since they are closed. I am 7months pregnant and just moved to Bayonne, and even though I’m an actively paying customer, I have no access to my home club now, because Irvington is refusing to transfer my account (since we were advised by corporate to have them transfer me while Elizabeth is closed). What’s funny is that whoever spoke to my husband, helped him and forced his transfer so that he is a member of Bayonne, but they are refusing to change mine. I’ve been following up for 2 weeks now. So now you have a pregnant, married couple who are members of two different locations and refusing to help me out (since you transferred his account, you can transfer mine). SO now my husband and I are both quitting PF- I can’t believe the lack of customer service as we have been loyal for YEARS by simply refusing to transfer my account even with proof of address change

*Update* I decided to go check this location for myself. The staff was okay. Not welcoming but not cold either. The gym was better than I expected. It was a bit crowded at the time of the day I visited. No big deal. Typical for that time of the day. I would have joined this gym until I discovered there are no bench press machines. I felt like this was a red flag as bench press machines are like a gym staple. They were using a make shift bench press i.e. the squat gym with a rolling bench pulled up. I like some of the amenities such as the massage chair. I increased my original one star to three stars as it was not that bad of a gym.

The location is extraordinary from the other Planet fitness locations I’ve been to. The first floor was the front desk, restrooms, and black card area. The second floor is where all the machines are. Thankfully they have the elevator for the non stair people as myself.

Whenever I’ve been it hasn’t been too crowded, but come on guys this place never has any hand sanitizer in a place where people are sweating and touching machines that are rarely cleaned in between. If they do it’s with that watered down “cleaner”. Yes, I wash my hands when I’m done at the gym, but such an inconvenience to not have anything in between when you feel scuzzy. Do better!

The place is good but the staff are very rude and rasice. I'm a black card holder. I went to work out before I went to work. I went to the locker room to use the shower 🚿 3 of the shower was down to get cleaned, and then one shower had someone using it. As I was getting ready to use it after that person finished. The staff rip the shower curtain of and doesn't want me to use it saying he needs to clean it. Even I 🙏 with him to let me use before I go to work, he replied I should go to work without taking a shower. I felt disrespect for paying a premium membership to be treated like that. From now on, I don't go there anymo. I
go to the one in Vauxhall where the staff treated me like a decent person. I will anchorages people to stay away from that place and go where you will treat properly. If it was only this place, I would cancel my membership. Very unprofessional

I asked for a tour and the associate proceeded to stand and point to things and did no tour of the sort.My tone become rude because as soon as I heard the rules that I found to be very tedious and micro managing ;I canceled my membership the same day. The manager stood behind the associate as the whole conversation proceeded to go left. Beautiful ladies

Closest to me, but they need to work on the safety of its pillars, water leakage, and monthly broken equipment . Cant count how many times i almost tripped on swollen floors smh. They recently started doing some indoors renovations but they need to do better

Review edited on 12/18: there is a particular staff with blue contact a he/she: he is very RUDE AND unprofessional, i read through multiple reviews with complaints of this same staff with blue contacts and i see continuously replies under all reviews , stop leaving responses and TAKE ACTIONS AGAINST Staff complaints or transfer them to another location. This is ridiculous .

The only chest equipment at this site has been broken going to TWO WEEKS and has yet to be fixed.

I made a corporate complaint. All on video. Employee Alicia was very aggressive and verbally abusive in locker room as I was attempting to shower along with male “manager” on duty for the evening with blue contacts. male manager came into the female shower after Alicia threatened myself. I have all on video. After a long day 14 hour day of work I come to try and work out and am met with what seems incomprehensible staff. I am very offended staff Alicia was completely inappropriate she and male staff threatened me completely unprovoked. I Will file a formal complaint with Planet fitness against specific this franchise.

I’ve been coming to this location for years, while I appreciate the facility and everything it has to offer. The hours of operation makes it hard to visit. Most of the other PF locations either closes at 11pm or 12am while this location closes at 10pm. I would like to come here after I get off work but by the time I do get off, it’s closing time. And this location used to be 24hrs so I’m not understanding what happened??

Come if you like saunas, this place feels like hell. They never turn the AC on upstairs, only the main level is nice. Also there's a lack of these hook carabiners, something that costs a few dollars, so annoying. Not to mention, some staff are hostile, they ask in front of anyone if the girl is wearing a short under her skirt, so invasive and unprofessional.

Wow! I was thinking of goining but After reading all the negative reviews, i think not! It seems like one maybe two common denominators are the front desk staff and the owner who apologizes later in reviews for their unchecked behavior, but yet has done nothing to address all these peoples main issue which was bad customer service from rude and untrained staff, especially front desk, who don't know how to speak to people due to lack of manners and or anger issues topped with a god complex. Usually I ignore one or two rants, but this place has to many people saying the same thing to ignore as just a one off. Its been my experience that good or bad business always starts from the top! If the staff is this comfortable being rude without accountability from its owners, then its 100% the owners fault! Your house is only as dirty as you allow! Perhaps its time to start cleaning up personally if you want to see better reviews! I'll certainly change this review as I start seeing more positive. For now, your past customers have spoken loudly for me to pass for now. I look forward to reading improvements made hopefull sooner than later. Gotta train your staff on proper etiquette it seems. And also have signs clear and visible everywhere with house rules so there's no mistakes about them.

I just want to say today I had the worst experience of my life. I’m a therapist and I work with children throughout the state. Today, I decided to take one of the kids I work with to this planet fitness. I had long pants and my uggs on. I checked in and brought the kid as my guest since I’m a black card member. Everything went fine. We went upstairs to work out and talk to my client. One of the staffs came up there and confronted him disrespectful about wearing jeans and uggs. Without hearing, he started pointing his fingers in my face and telling me he can take me out. I was shocked and obviously embarrassed since I was there with a kid and other people were there. He continued to yell and scream at me. He was shouting and said “oh it’s in the policy and you can look it up yourself.” Mind you, there were no signs anywhere in the gym. After ignoring and recording him, he went downstairs and stated he was going to cancel my membership. 5 minutes, here comes the manager Jasmine asking me to leave the gym with the kid. The kid is an autistic child. I was helping him. At that point, I had stopped using the machines. She came up to me and in my face asking me to leave the gym along with the child. When I went downstairs, she finally went to the office and came out with a sign that says no boots or jeans in the gym. She hit me with the sign. I will continue to file complaints and will take this matter as far as I can. This was very unprofessional and all of this didn’t need to happen.

I love it. It's relatively cheap, just $11 a month. Unfortunately, partly because of its affordability, it's often crowded at certain times, hence limiting availability of certain machines. As a result, I sometimes return home not having done all the exercises planned. I go there twice a week but going forward, I've decided that one of those days would be off peak hours.

Ask the guy in the front desk if they had a free pass because it was my first day , he said they dont have free pass . Until then okay whatever , so i asked him to show me the plans they had , after showing the plans i asked if i could see the gym before i sign up , he said i couldn’t and that i had to pay $5 to SEE the gym , I had no choice but to leave .

Can't park and do exercise because they will boot or tow you away if you are in a truck. Have signs everywhere in the parking lot. Damm how you expect a truck driver be in good shape and have good health to deliver your goods all around the country. Everyone ha e to remember and understand that, thanks to a truck driver you have all your goods deliver to your favorite shopping store. In another words without truck drivers we all would be in need of food, clothes etc.

Gym is super clean and spacious. Just be careful if you are a young lady because there are predators outside that will attempt to follow you. There are a limited number of security cameras outside the building (I counted two but not sure if it’s functional). Three vehicles attempted to follow me home in one evening, so please be careful and aware of your surroundings.
