This location is very convenient, I like it and I come here often, but the last couples of times I've been at this facility, there's ALWAYS someone from the Staff, cleaning with a giant mopping machine, with the place PACKED and all the customers in the way. It's extremely inadequate to do this task when the Gym is so crowded. I've been a Black Card customer for more than 12 years and this is the only place I've seen something like this. When asked the person the reason why they do this task at that time, they replied their manager gave the instructions. They're begging for some liability 😔

I agree with Gnome the previous review. They don’t have compassion on your life circumstances. I have been a member for a year now and barely went to the gym. Only a handful times throughout the year. Since I had autopayment I completely forgot about it.We moved last January and unfortunately I lost my wallet. I had my credit cards, id etc in that wallet. First thing I did was to report every card i had stolen/lost. March 15 I decided to go to the gym and when I open my app, it says I am overdue on my account since February. So there overdue plus late fees then I got hit with annual fee. I don’t remember when I sign up but since it was just last march1 I thought they can maybe cancel everything. I know it’s my responsibility to cancel before it auto renews but don’t remember when I sign up. since it was my fault, I was just gonna pay it and cancel my membership. I was canceling my membership but they won’t cancel it until I pay it off first I was gonna but they said I was gonna get charged again for that month. Mind you my renewal was every 17th of the month and I was there the 15th trying to cancel everything but they won’t because that’s just how it is for them saying I need to cancel a week prior. I find that stupid and I called customer service and told me it was written on the contract. I don’t even remember what I ate last week and expecting me to remember what was written on the contract. know it is my responsibility to read it but let’s be honest, who does it? I was just simply trying to cancel since I don’t go to the gym anyways to avoid paying something I don’t use. Customer service told me she will bring it to the higher person to help me but no one contacted me. I have been waiting and to be honest forgot about it again until today. I’m about to go there and pay off $207.49 of late fees, annual fee that I don’t even want anymore and monthly fees. Zero star if I can, not just to this location but to the whole planet fitness.

Since I became a member at this health club, I’ve had a consistently great experience. It’s evident that the staff takes pride in maintaining a spotless and inviting environment.

A special shout-out to Sofia, the club’s manager—she is incredibly approachable, helpful, and welcoming. Her friendly and professional attitude sets a positive tone for the whole gym, and she’s always available if you have questions or need assistance.

I have been a member of this club for the second year now, always paying my membership fees on time. My bank account and credit card were on file. However, this month, I was unexpectedly charged a late fee. I didn’t understand why, so I approached the manager (a Black woman—I’m sorry, I don’t know her name) to ask for clarification. Instead of helping me resolve the issue, she was quick to blame me, saying I had entered the wrong account number. But how was I supposed to know that? Was I supposed to guess?

She assured me that she would contact the corporate office to see if the late fee could be removed. However, when I returned the next day, the fee was still there. The manager then checked the system again and seemed almost delighted to discover that I had a previous account with Planet Fitness with an outstanding balance. In 2023, I stopped going to the gym and forgot to cancel my membership. That was in the same year my husband passed away in May 2023. At that time, canceling a gym membership was the last thing on my mind, and frankly, it’s not an easy process.

Despite not using the gym, they continued billing me with late fees for three months, totaling $108. I tried to explain my situation, but the manager simply did not care. She told me I had to pay, or I wouldn’t be allowed to work out. She acted as if I had personally stolen money from her.

Is losing a loyal client really worth it just because I forgot to cancel my membership during an incredibly difficult time in my life? Does this club value rules more than human compassion?

I have to emphasize how unprofessional and cold she was. It seemed like she was actually enjoying the situation, as if she had some kind of power over my fate. I simply came here to exercise, yet she made me feel completely uncomfortable. She lacks basic communication skills and clearly enjoys exerting control over others.

That being said, I want to acknowledge that the rest of the staff at this location has always been incredibly kind, professional, and helpful. I have never had any issues with anyone else, and my experience here has always been positive—until now. It’s disappointing that one person's poor attitude can overshadow the otherwise great service this gym provides. I sincerely hope the management takes action to address this issue and ensure that all members are treated with respect and understanding.

The customer service at Planet Fitness has been terrible. On February 3, 2025, they double-charged me for my $52 annual membership, resulting in a $52 overcharge. When I visited the gym, the front desk told me to speak with the manager, who is only available Monday–Friday, 9–5—highly inconvenient. When I finally met with the manager, they claimed there was only one charge, despite my bank statement showing two posted charges. Their only solution: "Call your bank."

Then, on February 18, Planet Fitness added a late fee to my account for no reason. My banking info hadn't changed. The front desk said they couldn’t refund it, and I needed to speak with the manager again. I made another trip, but the manager wasn’t there, requiring yet another visit. The times that I actually go to use the gym, are outside of the 9-5 hours , so I have been having to make additional trips during the work day to try to resolve this.

That same day, Planet Fitness charged my backup credit card $36 ($20 fraudulent late fee + $16 monthly membership) and on the same day they also deducted $16 from my checking account. And Then, on February 21, they withdrew another $26 from my bank account.

I've sent two emails with no response. Since February 3, I’ve been overcharged multiple times across two accounts, totaling $182 instead of the $68 I should have been charged. None of the staff have helped, and I am now filing a complaint with the NJ Department of Consumer Affairs and disputing the charges with my bank. Avoid this gym—resolving their billing mistakes has cost me time and money, and I’m close to taking legal action.

I often review all the comments and realize that many people are unfortunately unhappy on the way things have turned into with the many changes in staff turnaround. I have been going to this gum since it opened. I have to say the staff is really friendly and there are no complaints about them. But there is really an issue on where many people are utilizing the machines and not respecting the time limit for others to use. I think we are all adults (some of us) in where you pay attention to others to ensure you provide respect in using or letting go machines that you are not going to use for literally over an hour. Management in this place unfortunately does not do anything, signs are posted people do not respect that at all. Another thing I noticed is that the "Owner" responds to messages but yet nothing has not changed within the Gym. I believe that the owner should stop by and realize what is going on before more comments like these keep on posting. Also as an owner your members are the ones coming in and paying to be comfortable at a gym and not have to struggle to wait over a certain time to use machines in general. Mr. Owner if you do respond to this post why don't you make changes that need to be made, come in throughout the times of 5am -10pm to get the full feel on what people are talking about here and Yelp. Once again Staff great but management team looks like they are afraid to state the rules, I mean as members we all sign documents stating to be courteous to others with the machines. Also to add I do not think the lockers on the inside are being cleaned at all. Lately it has been dusty multiple times while placing my own personal items in them.

The cell phone and other higher volume conversations that take place are not discouraged much. The signs are posted for cell phone usage, clients do not follow and there is help behind the desk- Maybe they should come away from the desk and enforce it. I come to workout not listen to conversations.
Also too few Smith machines and only 1 pec/deltoid machine. They need to have a take a ticket system for the Smith machines or some solution. I never get to use them. Always occupied. Other than that I like it very much.

Update review 6/21/24...so I've been complaining over 2 months and others as well that it's way too hot in there, 73 degrees in the summer is hot, sweating just getting warmed up...if you're burning to lose weight that's great but sweating excessively trying to pump up and build muscle IS NOT GOOD!
they still refuse to push or enforce the over using of machines, especially this guy every morning using the smith machine for nearly 2 hours EVERY DAY along with 2 sets of dumbbells EVERY DAY!! I never use those myself but I see people daily waiting, waiting, waiting and if he's on it they all know EXCLUDE THAT MACHINE AND ASK THE OTHER 2 MACHINE USERS HOW MUCH LONGER.

been going here several months now, my home gym too.....lately the people are a huge problem with confiscating dumbbells for an hour plus at times! they sit with them, never change the weights, they'll hold 2 pairs and say 'I'm using both' and I've literally replied with 'you're going to hold a 10lbs and 15lbs in each hand simultaneously??!!' they literally had to think and think about that...complaints to management does nothing, they need to start time enforcing on certain problem people, the front desk people know who they are by now.

it's becoming a very constant bad gym experience when you're trying to train with progressive overload and there's no gym etiquette around you but instead very selfish members.

I have been going to this gym in the mornings before work for the past 4-5 months (I go straight to work after the gym). My main issue is they NEVER clean the showers. The shower curtains are covered in mold and one of the showers has little to no water pressure. I recently joined Planet Fitness in Little Ferry when I moved from Jersey City to the area. I wasn't sure what to expect knowing that PF is about as basic as you can get. I checked out another local more boujee gym which had a pool, but found it to be over priced for no towel service and small work out areas. Planet Fitness in Little Ferry turned out to be a really nice clean gym. It has everything I need. The staff is really nice and it has a chill vibe . I have been to many gyms in my life and this one is perfectly fine.

When I went to cancel I asked the lady helping me, to set it up to cancel before i got charged again not for that day. Before signing I asked again to make sure i can use the gym for the remaining 2 weeks and she kept reassuring me that it will be fine and that i just needed to sign(rushing me). She (spoke very little english) which should have been my sign to double check with someone else because she set it up to cancel that day. I spoke with the manager( who was pretending not to be the manager) and they told me there was nothing they can do and that she would have the manager call me. They never called or returned my phone calls and I paid for a whole month just to only be able to use the facility for 2 weeks. Honestly, Planet Fitness has no idea on how to run a gym effectively. When machines break down they stay down for months. At the Little Ferry, NJ location there are 2 spin bikes and both are broken now. One of them had been broken for over 3 months. I don’t know what type of member services they are providing, but honestly I’ll be withdrawing my membership as soon as I find an alternate gym. Do yourself a favor don’t come here. There’s no barbell bench press in the gym. Bathroom was dirty. Besides that it is decent.

This is the worst place that I’ve ever went to. They always give me a hard time when I come !!! I have the app on my phone and they still give me a hard time with a lot of unnecessary protocol and I can’t even work out. This is the second time that they turned me down even though planet fitness is taking money out of my account every month.

Not a bad space. Joined planet fitness for their 24hr operating hrs. Really wish they would open longer hours....for those of us who don't have bankers hours..

The staff are so professional and polite! They always greet you no matter how busy. They make sure to make rounds to clean the areas and restrooms.

You can tell they care about the equipment because when off the clock they use it. They seem extra motivated to up keep the place.

No matter what time a day I have gone, each staff member has been great. I hope they keep this energy by investing in this team and retain them by taking care of them.

The current team they have is amazing with customer service and upkeep.

I been to couple of the planet fitness but this is the smallest one I had gone to. Hate it when I have to wait for the equipments and area for stretch. Shower is too small, no room to put any clothes or bag.

This is only a couple of minutes away from where I live. Staffs are super friendly and the place is kept clean and tidy. Love the crowd meter on the app; it helps pick a quiet time of the day.
