The best plus of this gym is that it is almost worth the low price you have to pay there.

The only truly poorly run PF I have ever been to—and I’ve been thru a lot. The ONLY PF I have ever gone to that doesn’t keep the Club cool enough—AC was fixed, but good luck not sweating by the free weights. Lack of air circulation is often worsened by the fact that they often do not have their fans on.

The only PF I have ever seen with too few smith machines. Only 4, each hogged up often for up to an HOUR by one person. There should be time limits posted.

The only PF I have ever seen whose 3 of 6 star mills are almost always down. Never each one is working, and sometimes most are busted. They don’t fix them quickly, and their repairs don’t last long.

Music is AWFUL. Same year in and out. MUST wear ear deafening headphones and put your own music up to the loudest setting to drown it out.

Rules of decorum are enforced: people can talk loudly on a speak phone and the staff, even hearing it, won’t correct it.

Almost half of the TVs are broken or not on. They used to play CARTOONS on at least 2 TVs.

They NEVER EVER EVER inflate their exercise balls. They just basically collapse when you sit on them.

Lack of consideration in North Bergen NJ. The people who does the cleaning at this location should have more common sense by not spraying the aerosol while the members are working out, all over the place. We have to breath these chemical cancerous substances. Please remember this GYM is located at the basement where there is poor circulation of pure air. Let's not pollute the small amount of pure air when the place is full of members. Try to do it at the time of closing at night where nobody gets exposed to such contamination.

I have been a loyal Black Card member at Planet Fitness for over five years, and my last visit was a total letdown. One of the main reasons I pay for the Black Card is the daily tanning session, but when I signed up for my slot, the booth wouldn’t even start. I went to the front desk to let them know, and the woman there just said the system showed I’d already tanned, so I’d have to wait 24 hours to try again. That’s nonsense—I didn’t get to use the service at all! I get that machines can break, but don’t put that on me. They should’ve just let me use another booth that actually works. Instead, I’m told to come back tomorrow, like my time and membership don’t matter

This place owes me a ton of money and it never paid me back just gave me the run-around. I was in a major accident and hospitalized in bedridden and they told me unless they came in in person they couldn't cancel my account. Then covid came and does everyone knows the country was shut down for like a year yet they still kept billing me. Finally got it cancelled. 2 accounts. They gave me number to some dude named Greg in like another state from another location and then he never took my calls no one ever wanted to own the problem at the end of the day they just stole my money I'll never go there again. I cannot be the only person they did this to. I should give them a negative 10 Stars if I could.

I've switched from crunch down in 32nd st and this place is so nice! My only complaint is that there could be a bigger stretching room as the 2 current ones are very small. The gym itself already has tons of equipment, from cardio to cable machines. It's also usually empty every time I've gone, and I have always had weights or machines available for me to use. The staff is friendly and the locker rooms are kept very clean!

Like other have mentioned, they renovated this place for 1 month, but it was just cosmetic changes. They took out a cable machine when already the selection is limited. I don't also understand why all the plates are located in the stretching room? They should be put where the smith machines and freeweights are, especially with all the free space they added. Recently, planet fitness has advertised on all their ads new PLATE LOADED machines they were gonna add to their locations. I think cause this place is privately owned, it hasn't been implemented. It's a shame because the gym could use more machines and free weights for the vast amount of people that come in. I've also been to multiple planet fitness in North jersey, and it's kind of disheartening that this gym still doesn't have dumbells going up small increments. Mondays are absolutely the buisest, so be mindful. Weekends usually are empty. The lack of equipment is frustrating because sometimes people can't find the right handles and stuff for the cable machines. I do appreciate the hammer strength machines they have in stock. I also have seen they are more on top with making sure machines are repaired now. I really wish they would remove some unused cardio machines, and make space for new machines people WILL USE! My final complaint is small but its about staff. Usually everyone is nice, but im very disappointed in how i was treated. By mistake, i wore crocs to the gym which i know is against the policy, but it does bother me how i was kicked out but ive seen multiple people enjoy their workout WHILE WEARING THE SAME SHOES!! If the rules are going to be upheld, then it most be for everyone. If not, i dont see an issue especially if they're closed shoes. Besides this, they do their job and make sure everything is clean, they do greet everyone and say goodbye to everyone, and basically do their job. I just hope these issues can get sorted in the future because the gym has a good amount of space to host people properly.

Not a good gym by any means. I’ve been to other planet fitness’s yet this one is the worst. The manager lady at the desk has a horrible attitude and treats people very unfairly. The other workers are very nice but she’s one of the worst managers i’ve ever seen in my life. As a result, this led me to stop coming to this gym because I’d hate to encounter her when she’s there. So I've been a member since 2019. Within the past year I haven't gone to the gym, but paid for membership none the less. 2yrs ago started taking my son, whom 2yrs ago turned 13. Decided to go to the gym today with him, who hasn't de-aged actually is 15yrs old now go figure. So counter boy because everyone who works there are children even the manger, decides to ID my son. of course a 15yr doesn't walk around with ID. So I almost didn't get to use my gym that I've paid for, for over 6yrs, because of counter boy. So when I'm leaving I ask the child manager to show me the rule or policy they get to harass my guest every so often for ID they already have in the system, and she says it's a "verbal policy". Sorry but if it's not in writing it's B.S. your making up your own rules to harass paying customers. When I asked to whom I can speak to above her, this child said " I'm the very top, you can't speak to no one above me". 😂😂

I'm currently a newer member. I joined planet fitness while in florida to just get a gym. When I came back after 3 months i decided I would keep the membership and just go to ones in nj. How is it that all these planet fitness has more members than weights available. If you want it to be a running cardio gym then just make it that. I'll submit photos next time. There is so much space but the weight area is the size of a bedroom. There's only 5 Smith machine's. At what point do you guys look at your gym and go okay we need to add more machine's for workouts or people are going to go to other gyms. I'm literally canceling my membership because of it. And the worst part is you have the space sooo much space. But you have 40 treadmill and I only ever see at most 10 in use. It's insane.

Need to edit this review cuz I’m getting more and more unmotivated to go. First of all this place was closed for like 2 weeks due to “renovation.” It reopened and I’m confused as to what changes were made apart from the walls being painted white. It’s giving hospital vibes and it’s not it. Second, of all it’s still mad hot and gross cuz no A/C. There’s also barely any connection for some reason can barely get 1 bar. Most machines are out of service and they don’t pay attention to the kind of ppl who go there. There’s people who come in slamming the weights, screaming and cursing out loud mad cuz they can’t with the weight and people putting stuff on machines they’re not using. Finally, what is the most unmotivating is how the “trainers,” 😐 come up to you and tell you no you’re doing it wrong, get up. A no one asked for help, B no one cares what they have to say cuz they don’t look like trainers and C it’s just embarrassing going up to a person and doing that. Sorry but I have to review this gym- no doubt it was the worst workout experience ever! Every piece of equipment had at least 1 person on it with 2 sometimes 3 people waiting! INSANE!! I went at 830pm and the place closes at 10pm. If it’s this busy you need to adjust your hours (less in am longer in pm), that should help you out a least a little. I asked one of the staff if it’s always like this at this time of night-her reply was kids home from college and the Hoboken PF closed for reno’s-if that’s the case they you need to improve for your customers that will still be there after both are gone. I won’t be back but others will. Unfortunately I can not recommend this PF location.

Recently my club in North Bergen did a renovation for better or worse!! It looks nice, but they took away the yellow cable machine and left a big empty space, also they removed the lower glass, now you can only see your upper body exercises.Now since every one uses the smith machines they should add 2 more to replace the yellow cable machine they took away from us.

I have tried to get in contact with the manager “Nathalie” who I have previously spoke to regarding my previous membership. I have called since last week and no one picks up the phone. Not sure if they silenced my number or if they change the nombre to this location. I don’t think it’s fair that I have to pay for the old membership when I trued to cancelled so many times. They are still charging me for the old membership after a year of not going to the gym. When I decided to go back and opened up a new membership because apparently I wasn’t a member. I was told by the person in the Weehawken location that I had it to go back to the North Bergen one and take care of it but I’m able to use the new membership. Spoke to the manager NATHALIE and she told me that I still had it to pay for the old membership $75. Now I want to take care of business but no one picks up the phone.

I initially joined Planet Fitness because of their commitment to cleanliness and providing essential supplies like hand sanitizer. However, over the past six months, the club has stopped refilling the sanitizers, which is disappointing.

More concerning is that the AC units have been out of order for the past four weeks. This not only creates an uncomfortable workout environment but also poses significant health risks to members, especially during hot weather. Operating without functional AC is against the law, and it's alarming that the management has not addressed this issue.

When I spoke with the staff, they informed me that the owners are aware but simply don't care. This lack of concern for member well-being and legal compliance is unacceptable.

I want to make it clear that if these issues are not resolved promptly, I will be contacting the health department to file a formal complaint first thing in the morning.

The staff is okay it’s a normal gym. Gets packed after 5pm and dies down around 9pm. We’ve seen a few roaches.

Update: been going consistently every day (1 rest day) for the past 3 months. It’s cleaner now and the machines that break are being replaced a lot quicker. I think the staff is great. Everyone is pretty cordial and there’s always a hello/have a great workout from them all. Summer is coming so it’s starting to get more packed. I’ve noticed big groups of older teens now huddling around the free weights which is kind of annoying. Other than that I enjoy my workouts there.

Sent out a certified mail to cancel, they never received it, got charged the next month. Ask if I could show them my receipt to prove I sent out the mail to cancel and waive the month I was charged. Manager refused to to be helpful. Will never go back or sign up to another planet fitness again. Bad customer service.

I was very upset that once again I did not get into tanning. There were 30 minutes left before the closing of PF, and she, the girl, said that tanning was no longer working. In this PF, this has already happened to me not for the first time. I pay PF BLACK CARD for no reason. I am very sad :((((

I decided to close my account because I have been a member one year now must have visited 3-4 times. I fully understand going in the location in person to close your account. I was charged my annual fee 2 weeks ago. One day before they charge my account I decided to go in person and close it in person. I was told today is my last day to come in the Gym and I will be charged tomorrow for one more month because I was supposed to come in 10 days prior can you believe 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Pros:
1. new updated equipment
2. Sorta friendly staff who assisted me in finding my lost items in the locker room.

Cons:
1. no wifi or cell service, and to connect to wifi, you need to ask for password at front desk. No cell service due to being located in a parking garage.

2. When its closing time, they will sound the lunk alarm for 5 mins straight as if us members are animals. It’s very disrespectful. The staff did provide me a manager contact to discuss this with, though.

3. Your stuff will get moved to a random locker if you don’t lock it, so be careful. Staff told me this is a common issue there.

4. Broken or no HVAC system installed. You will sweat even before you start your workout.

De verdad este es el peor planet fitness al que he ido, la lady en el front desk ni saluda cuando llegas, hay una larga fila porque solo ella puede escanear, sin hablar de las máquinas que al menos la mitad no sirven. This location is no longer 24/7. 2 stars just because they close too soon. Also, the workers blast the “lunk” alarm 30 minutes before closing so the work out hours are EVEN LESS. Smh.

Planet Fitness sucks. After joining the gym and needing to cancel it several months later, they don't let you cancel it online. They require you to go to the gym where you signed up to cancel IN PERSON. However, the happily take ALL PAYMENTS online, no problem there. Of course, the obvious reason for this practice is to decrease the likelihood of member cancellations by creating an obstacle to cancel, i.e., requiring a long trip to the gym after you move away. Pretty pathetic business practice. Don't join. Work out in your local park, at least you'll get fresh air and see squirrels. :)

It's on the lower level. The lower level parking area had a decent amount of spots, and it was quite empty on a Saturday morning. NOT an entrance for trucks or any high clearance vehicles.

I didn't use any of the equipment as I only stopped to shower. I had an issue with my black card membership not showing up, but staff member Daniel was quite pleasant and helpful about the issue. The ladies' room was clean. The shower had decent pressure. The water was warm enough, but I would not call it a hot shower. There aren't hooks or anyplace to hang a towel or bag in the shower area. Large dressing rooms that offer complete privacy. The mirrored vanity area in the locker room had a simple countertop and several outlets. The water bottle refilling station was working. On my way out, staff member Michael assisted me and was helpful and pleasant as well.

Went once, and never going back again. It is so dirty and there's no air circulation in the building. The lack of air circulation makes the gym smell so badly, none of their fans were even on. Didn't last even 20 minutes in the gym because of disgusting the gym was.

Unbelievable, inexcusable, its 5pm on a Friday afternoon, March 15, 2023 and these idiots decide now is a good time to disconnect and disable 30 or so treadmills for some cleaning. Who's the idiot in charge that decided this. This should be done on the overnight shift, geeezuz, stupidity. 🤬

Horrible horrible gym! Extremely rude staff always an issue when in there and all equipment is either not working or broken needs a serious re-evaluation and manager Michelle is rude and has no manners whatsoever. Will never go to that location ever, lost a black card customer
