Hadn't been to this location in a while. I went this past weekend and it wasn’t the clean, well maintained space I remembered. Benches ripped, only three 4 pound medicine balls, many pull up assist bands missing, hip abduction machine broken but no sign posted. This used to be my favorite location.

Do we have any update on if/when additional stationary bikes will be added to the Wall NJ Planet Fitness? When the gym was “redesigned” this past August the number of stationary bikes was drastically reduced. Many members complained to management and we were told management would investigate. These bikes were highly utilized and now customers need to wait frequently to get on bikes. We have heard rumblings that more bikes are coming, but no specifics. Planet Fitness Wall can you kindly update your customers on this situation. Thank you.

Best part open 24/7 (with minor exceptions to holidays since will close early). Plenty of machines, rarely have to wait. Always clean even the bathrooms and showers. Lots of cleaning spray bottles to wipe of stations after use. Once in a while some of the male clients try to hog 2 machines, but does not happen often. The price for basic membership of $15.99 a month makes it affordable. I recommend. If looking for workout classes, not the place as they don’t have any.

I've been a PF Black Card member for over a 10 years. I have visited PF gyms in many cities and states. It's also the only PF gym that is 24 hours every day. This location is far and away the most spacious gym with sparkling new equipment and plenty of parking. Staff is exceptionally friendly. Compared to the other PF locations in Monmouth County this one is heads and shoulders above the rest.

All the broken machines were finally fixed. You can’t trust the crowd meter. It’s usually 1 or 2, never higher, even tho every cable machine I wanted to use or bench I want to sit on was taken today, meter was only a 2. I wonder what the highest level of the meter represents. Most definitely a fire hazard or maybe an indoor concert.

Serious attitude problem with some employees. It has gotten much worse in the last 6 months. Many machines with out of order signs.Cleanliness isn't great.Manager is useless.Owner doesn't actually respond.Worst Planet Fitness I have ever been in.They literally put out of order signs on machines that just need to be unplugged and plugged back in.The employees spend most of their time on their phones

Poor experience from the senior management team and cusomter service by phone (which is third party). Customer service says to speak to the front desk and the front desk says speak to customer service. Classic gym membership tactic still going strong in 2025. Beware of added fees and an overall lack of accountability.

Disappointed with my experience at this location. Thomas (manager) at the front desk was incredibly unhelpful and rude. I came in with a simple question and was met with attitude instead of assistance. It’s unfortunate when customer service falls short — especially at the front desk, where first impressions are made. It's a good gym. But it has a serious limitation with the weights. I don't know if it's intentional or if they have the big boys ones somewhere else but your max dumbbell weight is 75 and your mac barbell weight is 60. Now, don't get me wrong, these are pretty good but still, some people can go 100+ on dumbbells and barbells should at least go 120 lbs.

Machines are really good, clean and seem well serviced. The staff is very friendly too.

Needs more water fountains around (there's only 2 on one side so if you are doing legs you are going to have to walk all the way back or get used to your dry throat after your 10th squat)

And the bathroom... Well it has this distinct sewage smell i don't know why or how. It's not horrible, but it's there. And there's usually 1 shower that is usually broken so at times you have to wait your return.

So basically... It's a good gym for the price, but lacks weights, water, better bathrooms and probably clean up the mirrors more.

Used the changing room last week and there was some protein powder (I assume) on the wall. Went in again today and yep, still there. In a week you aren't cleaning the locker room and changing room areas? Really? 🤢🤮 that's kind of gross, no?

I initially agreed with some of the early criticisms saying this new location was not quite ready for prime time. But I've since substantially changed my position, and it's now absolutely my go-to - over two other nearby PFs (primarily Wall, also Shrewsbury) that I have patronized every other day for several years now.

Why? First, they have more of the six-seven machines I tend to focus on. That means less wait time when its busy.
In some cases, ALOT more machines. For example, they have five (new) rowing machines. Wall has two - and one is frequently out of service.
In several other cases they have two machines (for triceps, lats) where Wall has one.

There are also well more and better choices for bike machines: Several recumbent, upright, and whatever they call those peloton-style machines. All newer than the machines at the other clubs.

They also feature much more and better options for the Black Card benefits of hydro-massage, tanning stations, and very promising new machines that do things to your body I haven't figured out yet. Theres a sign up front to ask about these, I haven't gotten there yet.

The only downside - a minor one - is with parking. The location is in a very busy lot. And I have mobility issues, so am more sensitive to it. Yes, there are a couple handicapped spots for folks like me. But the public nearby spaces in front can be all filled up, even when the gym isn't packed.

Like I said, though, it's not a big deal. Have otherwise nothing but positive things to say about it. Give it a try - make your own decision...

I have been a member of the Planet Fitness Gym in Wall Township for a number of years now. I had been hearing about this new Planet Fitness Gym in Ocean Township and decided to recently check it out.

When I arrived there one late morning, I spoke to the assistant manager. He informed me that because I only have a Classic Membership, he would have to charge me five dollars for me to “check out the gym.” I explained to him that I did not plan to work out that day, but had only wanted to walk around the new gym to ultimately decide if I wanted to transfer my membership there from the Wall location. Planet Fitness typically allows such a transfer with a Classic Membership. The assistant manager still rejected my seemingly benign request. I then asked to speak to the manager and was told by the assistant manager that his decision would ultimately coincide with that of his, the assistant manager. The manager’s name is Fred.

Speaking to Fred was akin to speaking to the assistant manager. The assistant manager was absolutely correct in predicting that Fred would utterly deny my request to check out the gym without coughing up the five bucks. Despite my inherent tenacity, coupled with an ardent incredulity, Fred remained stalwart and repudiated my incessant pleas. It quickly became quite indisputable that Fred would not permit me to walk around the gym to check it out even though I distinctly articulated that I would not be working out that day. I soon thereafter dejectedly walked away from the gym with an indignant and acrimonious taste in my mouth, while simultaneously vowing to never return to such a farcical place.

I have been an avid weightlifter/powerlifter for well over 30 years now. I have trained at a multitude of gyms in New York, New Jersey, Florida and Texas and have NEVER previously encountered such an ominous and imbecilic business practice like that. In fact, every single gym during my fitness tenure has offered some type of guest pass to a new member or to a prospective member. Sometimes that guest pass is for one day, three days or even one week. It is downright unheard of in the business to impose a monetary fee to have a potential patron simply walk around the gym to decide whether or not they will eventually join. In fact, I originally joined the Planet Fitness in Wall after taking advantage of a week-long guest pass.

Perhaps, I need to remind Fred about the contemporary closings of other gyms in contiguous neighborhoods, including the Gold’s Gym in Point Pleasant, the Gold’s Gym in Howell, as well as the Planet Fitness in Eatontown. Albeit the Planet Fitness moved to Shrewsbury, but both Gold’s Gyms were closed, ostensibly due to mismanagement. And it is altogether discernible that Fred’s quixotic business decision is symmetrical to a captain steering his ship directly into an iceberg.

I am an impassioned believer that satisfied customers are your best advertisement. But a dissatisfied one is just as influential in our digital age, particularly via a negative Yelp or Google review. Do you regret your deleterious decision now manager Fred?

After reading the "Response from the owner" and receiving an offer of a free guest pass, I have but one final thing to say. "No thank you! You only get one chance to make a first impression."

But the good stuff: Smith machines/squat racks and benches are usually all being used between 5-9 PM on week day nights. Typically a group of 2-4 people will hog a machine for 30-45 minutes or more. Even if the gym isn’t crowded. The free weight section is almost always all full.
Would be great to see a timer implemented or some type of courtesy from other gym-goers to share the squat racks. As there are 6? of them

Place is spacious and nice. Staff is friendly. Some suggestions: 1. The hot water does not work in the showers; 2. Someone needs to clean the dust off the ledge of the elliptical and treadmill machines - the spot where you rest your phone. It’s already dusty. Also, the foot pedals on the elliptical are already dusty; 3. Hand dryer in men’s room is broken and 4. Counter for sinks in bathrooms are sopping wet - someone needs to clean every once in a while.
