Terrible idea to eliminate 5 elypticles and place new ones so close together. I dread cold and flu season. Members allowed to talk on phone and be annoying to members next to them, also allowed to sing while listening to music on phones. This was reported to front seat but still goes on. No enforcement on phone police. Members allowed to hog machines while texting and answering emails. Very nice front seat staff. ENFORCE NO TALKING OR SINGING ON PHONE..

Everyone at the front desk is very attentive and nice. I go to the planet fitness in Wall Township. I have not been there for two months. When I started back this past Tuesday, I noticed that they have new matrix treadmills. I just love the new treadmills at the Wall Township location. They are very nice and simple to use.

Treadmills are in demand now there’s 5 less, incumbent bicycles there were 5 now there’s 2. There now is a wait for these equipment. Back in the nineties at Ballys we would sign up at 30 minute intervals for equipment,are we going backwards. Not pleased at all; customer satisfaction brings in new customers not dissatisfied ones..

The facility is clean but lacks proper management. There is no supervision for members who leave their belongings in the lockers for days, and bags are often left on the workout floor. Additionally, there is 50/50 tissue available to clean the machines. Urgent supervision is needed for these basic tasks. Most of the locks on the lockers are broken, and there are missing locks in the bathrooms. I expressed my concerns to the new manager and was informed that he is new and that everything is being addressed with the head office. However, these are fundamental issues that need immediate attention. On a positive note, the staff is very friendly—100% also the gym has a wide selection of machines, huge gym .

Very clean gym with a great atmosphere except
For one small detail. There is this one worker that is extremely unwelcoming, every single time my friend and I come in he stares us down like we are doing something bad. We come in on a daily basis and walking in and scanning our QR code is what we dread every time we come in. At first it wasn’t a problem but it’s come to a point where we are planning on switching to a different planet fitness which is inconvenient since this planet is the closest one to us but if we don’t have to deal with this one particular worker it’s worth it

I am very disappointed that they have gotten rid of the trainer from wall planet fitness and are not hiring another trainer. They advertised that there is a free trainer. I signed up specifically for the free trainer. This is false advertising.

I will give the Belmar location 4 stars out of 5 stars for now until I see a change in the cleanliness of the womans locker room particularly the SHOWERS. The Showers are disgusting. I would rather be upfront and honest because most people are not going to say anything out loud but behind closed doors its being discussed. The showers are rarely cleaned and if they are someone needs to be trained. Pubic hairs and dirt linger in these showers which makes the experience mediocre. As a black card member, I do not expect to see the same dirt in the changing areas (across from the showers) day in and day out and I'm there daily during the week. They do not wipe down anything. Doors, floors should be mopped, showers should be disinfected for people daily because this gym has a high population. If you do not come early morning to grab a shower you can forget it. DIRT CITY. The second shower in the middle is always clogged. I took a shower in that one the other day and the water filled up to my ankles like I was in a bathtub. I was dying on the inside. I recommend having professionals come in and unclog all the showers and an attendant focusing only on the locker room. YOU MUST PAY ATTENTION TO DETAIL For instance, the Woodbridge location showers from 6am-2pm are superb. The cleaners stay in the locker room after shower usage and wash down walls and mop wet floors after shower use. Many people shower after a workout because we go in to work and to have the showers looking like they are not tended to be a problem especially when I pay 30.00 a month for club fees and 52.00 for annual fees. I expect cleanliness. Other than that, the staff is EXCELLENT, the atmosphere is EXCELLENT the equipment is EXCELLENT which makes the Belmar location an overall wonderful experience.

Up until today I'd have given it a 3 or 4 because there's no water filter which I think every gym should have. But today there was a guy jumping around the locker room exercising, jumping on chairs, hanging on the changing room dividers, push-ups on the benches in front of the lockers etc for over an hour and no one stopped him, only the second time I mentioned it to the manager did she tell a male worker about doing something about it.

Also I showered in there Friday morning and there was some stuff on the walls in there and a band aid on the floor. Mildly gross but it happens, right? Well this afternoon about 53 hours later that same stuff was on the shower walls and that same Band-Aid was on the shower floor which tells me that not only did nobody clean the place thoroughly, that nobody even touched it! They should be cleaning up multiple times a day and in over two days they're not even doing a basic clean in there that's beyond unsanitary, it's DISGUSTING Come on please at least pay a little attention... Feeling like I need a shower after my shower.

Terrible worker had some 45 year old skateboard man, kick me out of the gym. I slammed the weight once which I understood and he told me if I did it again, I’d get kicked out and in the process of this guy tryna show me an example of what not to do. He failed to lift the weights I was lifting and I started laughing and I guess it hit his ego to hard and just kicked me out after saying I had another chance. Very unprofessional especially as a grown man being butt hurt.

Retro retro should fire Peter the worker for that scam move , he lied to me and con artists move of the lowest level.
Be very careful joining the retro fitness in Neptune nj scammed me for a member ship of putting on 49.95 extra after I asked Peter the worker if there is going to be a invisable fee of add on and he said NO,
I checked my account and sure enough there is was , now I have to fight with my bank and then fight with retro fitness in Neptune nj ot get a refund d even though it was only 1 time that I went there , be safe and go to another gym to work out and not retro fitness in Neptune nj,,z scammed me and now I have an obligation to warn the community about this gym, they are very slick...

I went in for a good ole 1am workout before bed and saw a lady walking around the gym holding her baby that didn’t even look a year old through the window. I went back home of a honestly weird concern I could end up hurting the baby while working out. Plus I did not care to try and reason with that logic of the mother to have such a small child around so much heavy equipment and weights. Didnt realize a concern like this could even be a thing while at the gym.

Planet Fitness is a great place to work out. They are super friendly and very helpful. There are so many machines available that you usually have little to no wait time. The entire gym, including the changing and rest rooms are meticulously clean. There’s always plenty of parking too. You get so much value for the reasonable cost to join.

I actually was speaking with my fiancé about this last night.

My head had not been in a good place for the last two years and in spite of having my membership, I could not find the motivation to commit to an exercise program.

I have finally gotten to the other side of the tunnel and started just this week (now just waiting for my muscles to forgive me LOL!)

I wanted to get the young man's name before sending in a note so I knew the kudos would make it's way down to him but I will do that subsequently.

In any event, there is a young man who has been at the front desk the last two days and his salutations (both entering and leaving at the Wall, NJ site) are a ray of sunshine!He doesn't know me and I am not a regular (yet...) but he greeted with a joy and enthusiasm like I was a long time member who he has known for ages!

It made me feel welcome and added to my motivation to continue my new "health journey"!

I will get this young man's name and follow up with a more specific compliment but this was a great chance to get that ball rolling!

Clean friendly gym with a lot of cardio equipment and a decent amount of fixed strength machines, free weights and Universal stations. Lacking HIIT equipment, TRX and some free weight equipment typically found in more advanced gyms. Still, Planet Fitness provides a stress- free environment for patrons of any level to get a solid workout. Worth it especially at the price.
