I’m a Planet Fitness Blackcard Member for sometime now . I needed assistance transferring my home gym location on the app from this location to another location ( the app had the wrong location). This is the best planet fitness I’ve been too. The place is kind of dim but that’s because there aren’t any windows and I love it! The dim dark vibe makes me feel more comfortable and less self conscious about everyone watching me. This gym STINKS and that was primarily the reason I stopped going. I Recently started going back to this location purely because of how close to home it is for me and because the membership is affordable however I'm very tempted to change my home gym. Previously they were consistently out of paper towels even when the gym wasn't busy, but now it definitely seems cleaner and has a better staff. I would recommend bringing your own Lysol wipes and maybe even a mask. Not sure what these other 5 star reviews are experiencing but it is certainly not the experience I've ever had in woodland park.

Woodland Park Planet Fitness has improved customer service and appearance! Over the past month the look and cleanliness has greatly improved. Paper towels are always stocked and spray bottles filled. The equipment itself is fine but omg the showers are DISGUSTING. When I started coming in more consistently this year I realized they don’t clean showers at all….i went in one day to use a shower and there was orange soap scum on the wall. Powdered makeup all over the bench in the changing stall across from the shower. Looked again in the same shower and changing stall FOUR DAYS LATER and neither of those things had been cleaned!!! how do you let that much time go by without it being cleaned??? I do not recommend. Other locations—like Fairfield or Wayne—actually deliver on the promise of a clean, welcoming, judgment-free zone. But this particular location? It’s a joke. A depressing, dimly lit, poorly maintained joke.

First off, the machines: You know that feeling when you walk into a gym, ready to put in the work, weights are scattered everywhere, and the equipment that is working feels like it’s one bad set away from falling apart. No maintenance, no urgency, no shame. A lot of cardio machines are old as well.

The lighting situation? It’s like being inside a dingy, smoke-filled bar from the ’80s. Everything’s yellowed and hazy, like the building is actively trying to make you feel gross. It’s demotivating. A gym should inspire energy and movement—this place inspires existential dread.

Bathrooms? Don’t even get me started. Think gas station rest stop at 2 AM. Dirty, smelly, and clearly not cleaned with any kind of regularity. The showers feel like punishment. Honestly, I wouldn’t wash my dog in there.

It’s sad that someone owns this franchise and chooses not to reinvest in it. Planet Fitness franchise owners typically earn in the 6 figures and do very well business wise . Planet Fitness has a real opportunity to help people improve their health, especially with affordable memberships. But instead, this location has become a cautionary tale. I’ve been to other PFs—Fairfield and Wayne are night and day compared to this place. So don’t tell me this is just how PF operates. It’s not. This is what happens when an owner treats the gym like a cash grab and ignores the community that’s supposed to be using it. The employees are nice enough but that isn’t the issue here.

Bottom line: Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. This place isn’t a fitness center—it’s a crime scene for motivation
