I decided to do something different for my bachelorette party and I saw that Powerhouse now offers private events. From start to finish Jenny and her team were so amazing. Everyone responded quickly, the day of Tori was so helpful and Taylor was our instructor and everyone LOVED her! We did a twerk bachelorette class and my friends can not stop talking about how much fun they had!! This was perfect for dancers and non-dancers. Jenny and her team knocked it out of the park! If you are thinking about it, you ABSOLUTELY should book a private event at Powerhouse for any occasion!!

Cannot say enough good things about Powerhouse! Classes were recommended to me by a friend in choir. I have danced my whole life, but haven't attended a class since college. I am so happy to have found a place to exercise (literally!) my creativity without needing to worry about a recital or serialized classes. Since December I have taken a wide variety of classes; Theater Jazz is my favorite! All the teachers and staff are so supportive and overall wonderful people to learn from. I started coming to Powerhouse a month ago and I have never danced prior, I was looking to try something new and keep active, and dance was something I always wanted to try since childhood. I cannot say enough great things about this studio!! Powerhouse is the best adult dance studio I've been to. The staff is endlessly kind, helpful, and welcoming. They make such an effort to meet each student and quickly learn their name. The teachers are all professional and provide the perfect balance of technical instruction and interesting choreography while ensuring the class is fun, flexible, and stress-free. I took my first class at Powerhouse back in 2021, but didn’t start going consistently till the end of 2024. But from the first class I took, the owner, Jenny, was so warm and welcoming! I was so nervous coming back & starting dance again after ~7 years off, but Jenny and the whole crew at Powerhouse made me feel so comfortable. They’re always there to hype each and everyone up and have such positive mindsets that make Powerhouse a great place to be in. I love the energy they radiate off.
I love the array of classes powerhouse offers along with different expertise levels. There is no pressure and a lot of us are there just to have fun and dance! The instructors are great too - I’ve never had a bad class there. I am newer to dance and the studio is run in the most open and caring way that’s wonderful for beginners. Powerhouse is the absolute best! As someone in her 30s who grew up dancing but stopped in college, I've always had a love for dance and have missed it greatly but always assumed I was too old to return back to dance. That is, until I found Powerhouse. It's been such a welcoming space with a variety of classes for all levels of dancers, experienced or not. All of the teachers are so nice, everyone there is supportive, and I appreciate that there is an overall acceptance of everyone from all different backgrounds, ages, body types, experience levels, etc.

Thanks to Powerhouse, I've been able to reignite my passion for my favorite hobby and have been able to try out new forms of dance that I had never heard of before.

Powerhouse offers all different types of classes for all different levels of dancers and I've really been enjoying many of the different series they've offered. For example, I'm currently doing a beginner heels series and tried the pure beginner ballet series in the summer. I find these series make it easier to feel confident in the regular beginner classes but you absolutely do no need to attend a series in order to begin your dance journey at Powerhouse.

I truly love this place so much that I've even gotten my boyfriend to try out some classes. He's had no dance experience whatsoever but he's been loving the Take Space Series with Ricky for Black History Month. These classes were offered free of charge and were a great way for him to try out classes like Beginner Hip Hop. My boyfriend is even eager to come back for more classes once the series is done.

I started taking dance classes at Powerhouse a little over a year ago. At the time, I hadn't taken a dance class in over 10 years and was so nervous to get back into it in my 30s. I almost cancelled because I was so nervous, and thank goodness I never did! Powerhouse is such a welcoming and judgement free zone to dance, be yourself, and just have fun. I am SO happy to have found Powerhouse Dance! I'm from North Jersey and have been dancing my entire life. I taught for years at a local dance studio, but after we moved down to South Jersey, I was *really* missing being in a studio. I'm so grateful that I found Powerhouse dance studio! The owner Jenny and all of the staff there are so welcoming and really make you feel like you belong there. The class managers always welcome you with a genuine smile and are so friendly. I have taken class with most of the teachers who currently work there and have never had a negative experience with anyone. Powerhouse Dance has been such an amazing find for me! I am a retired college gymnast and was looking for a way to keep myself moving that wouldn't be too strenuous on my body and all the injuries I have had. I came in with very little dance background, but was immediately greeted with enthusiasm and a willingness to teach. I've mostly been taking Theater Jazz with Zach and Alanna. I wish I could give more stars. I danced for most of my life but life after college got busy. My friend Kayla Johnson was teaching a heels class at Powerhouse back in April and I decided to take the plunge and try it out. I felt so welcomed even before attending class. Jenny, the owner, answered all of my questions quickly. I loved my first class so much that I quickly signed up for Zach’s intermediate theater jazz class. It was so much fun and appropriately taught in the time given. I have since taken more theater jazz classes with Zach, Alanna, and Noelle. Each class I feel myself growing and learning more. I also have taken jazz with Gabby and recently street jazz with Ally. Everyone who attends class is supportive of eachother. My biggest fear was walking in and being judged but that does not happen here! Whether you nail the choreography or not, the environment is warm, friendly, and inviting. They offer membership options and drop in classes. Overall, I am so so happy with Powerhouse. I wish I took that leap back into dance sooner.

I haven't danced in 30 years. I took a beginner tap class series with Teagan and it was perfect. She is adept at being able to customize the class to assist brand new beginners and throw a little challenge to those who have mastered the steps. She was warm and encouraging and this class of strangers felt like a group of friends over the few weeks that we met together. I'm glad I took the leap and decided to attend a class after watching Powerhouse on social media for a year.

Hi! I'm an adult dance student. I didn't study dance as a kid & I'm always taking dance classes wherever I go. Powerhouse Dance has been super refreshing and energizing in how focused they are on the love for dance and for the dancers. I take beginner's classes at Alvin Ailey & Broadway Dance Center when I'm in NYC and I find it supportive there too, but Powerhouse is NEXT LEVEL in how they prioritize connection to one another. I am so happy to have found this place! I retired from my dance career a while ago but have been wanting to get back into class for a while now - BUT I didn't really want to dance next to 16 year old prodigies as I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. When I found Powerhouse, it was like they read my mind and knew exactly what I was looking for: adult only classes, a variety of levels, and a welcoming atmosphere no matter what.

I took a ballet class with Allie and it was PERFECT. As a former teacher myself, I was blown away at how well Allie taught a beginner-for-not-really-beginners class (way harder than it seems,) and made it applicable for ALL levels. She's a magician, I'm sure of it. My heart is so happy to have found a place where I can return to my love of dance with zero pressure, just a lot of love and fun. I can't wait to go back!

I joined Powerhouse simply because I needed a hobby and saw their instagram posts of nonstop smiles. I have zero dance experience, but know it’s something I like to do for fun. The second I walked into the door I was greeted by the owner Jenny with the most welcoming smile that instantly calmed any nerves that I had about trying something new. Every class since then either Jenny or Zach has continued to greet every dancer with that same infectious and welcoming smile. As a beginner, there are MANY classes to choose from. I took a beginner heels class and I haven’t been to a dance class since I was 13. I had such a good time and felt so comfortable. The instructor did an amazing job getting the class to loosen up. This place exceeded all expectations! I just recently moved here from VA where I had been looking for studios for years. The instructors are top tier, everyone is so welcoming, and the music is perfect! If you’re thinking about taking dance classes, this is the place to go! There are so many types and levels. It automatically gave me an open space and second home to continue taking class in the South Jersey area upon graduating college. I took the beginner hip hop class with Christine and it was fantastic! It was a great way to get back into dance, after many years of not dancing. Powerhouse is one of the best places in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area for dancers to take class. This studio offers a variety of classes in different styles with different instructors. What brought me to Powerhouse was the fact that they are the only studio in the area that offers a Theater Dance class (and now Theater Tap class as well) for adults on a professional level. The Theater and Tap faculty here (Alanna Campbell, Devon Sinclair, Teagan Nurnberger) are all incredible teachers who are skilled in their craft and teach fun and challenging classes. Jenny De Tore, the owner, is one of the sweetest, most supportive people that I have ever met. She has built a safe space for dancers of all levels, ranging from beginners to professionals to dancers wanting to get back into class after an extended period of time off. I started dancing with Powerhouse roughly 6 months ago and it was one of the best decisions I could have made. Jenny, the founder, is an overall amazing human being who has fostered an amazing environment for adult dancers of all ages (17+) ability levels, and backgrounds. I know I can’t be alone in the feeling that when you graduate from college and want to still dance, there are not many places to go take classes that still offer what we were used to in high school and college. Powerhouse fills that gap. Powerhouse also feels like more than a dance studio where you go to take class- Jenny is there at most classes checking people in herself and knows everyone by name pretty much by their second week. I speak from experience when I say this is not the vibe at many other studios. I also grew up in a studio during my high school years that was very cliquey and had a lot of favoritism. So it was a breath of fresh air coming to this studio as an adult where none of that was the case. I finally feel like I found a studio where I can truly grow as a dancer, have fun, and not feel the stress that we as dancers know all too well when we aren’t perfect. With that being said, the instructors are top notch, extremely talented, and are very often professionals in the industry. You will get quality training here and definitely get a good push while being encouraged and reminded to just have fun and dance because it’s what you love to do. Please come join the Powerhouse family if you are hesitant at all. It’s such a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you are 25 looking for somewhere to continue training or in your 30s or 40s looking to get back into the swing of things or try something new, you won’t be disappointed. When I first started coming to Powerhouse, I had not taken a dance class in ten years (since high school). Jenny, Powerhouse's amazing owner, greeted me right away and made me feel so comfortable. Since that first class, I have attended Powerhouse classes at least once per week, even if it meant driving over an hour to get there. Jenny provides a large variety of classes for every style, so it is easy to find classes that match your interests. Jenny has created such a warm and welcoming environment for adult dancers to not only feel welcomed but challenged by wonderful choreographers and teachers. You will not find adult dance classes anywhere in the South Jersey area like you will here.

PowerHouse dance is AMAZING! Jenny is the sweetest person and has created the most welcoming, fun & amazing environment for 17+ dancers. There is no dance studio or establishment that I know of that has ADULT ONLY dance classes and I think that makes them unique over everyone! I travel over an hour to dance and it is so worth it to take the different genres they offer such as jazz funk, hip hop, contemporary and more! Even though I just started attending classes at PowerHouse this summer and I am never turning back!

Powerhouse is such a welcoming community of dancers and instructors! Classes are so much fun! All the teachers bring something different and challenge us in a good way! It’s not a competitive environment like some other studios I’ve been to in the past, everyones just there to learn great choreography and have fun! Highly recommend for any level dancer who wants to try!

I was able to take an outdoor hip hop class while in town from NYC this past week and absolutely loved it. Jenny's studio is a community that doesn't need to be defined by a physical space and that is reflected in the instructors she brings in and the dancers who flock to the classes. It was a blast to finally get back to dancing in a group (socially distanced and well-spaced with pandemic considerations in mind). Thank you Powerhouse Dance!

Seriously amazing. The level of dance here is top notch. You won’t find anything close to it in South Jersey. They bring in professional choreographers, different styles every week, whether you’re into jazz, hip hop, contemporary, there is something for everyone. If you are a college/pro dancer you know how hard it is to find good quality adult dance classes after you “retire”. And if you’ve never danced a day in your life and have two left feet, you won’t find a better place to take your first dance class. Jenny makes everyone feel welcome no matter what your level or experience is.
