My experience has been nothing but positive, and I've been attending classes five months. The studio itself is warm and inviting, but the people make it special. I've tried a number of classes, and every teacher has been patient, positive, and helpful. Each takes "requests" as to students' physical needs, including staying after class to give individual help. Not to mention all "know their stuff" professionally with both the physical and mental aspects of yogic practice. Thank you to Sharon A., Sharon J.H., Ruby, and Cindy!
And to rebut the review about "making money": I had to have surgery, and Ro kindly extended the date on my class card, giving me plenty of time to recover and not "lose" my class credits. I also appreciate the studio's involvement in giving back to the community (constantly, not occasional events).
Come try a class and see for yourself.

I apologize in advance for this being such a long review - but there's a lot to say. And even after saying it all, I'm sure I'll have left out a lot! For starters I will tell you to look no further - Sakula is the very best studio you will ever find.
I started taking classes here when I was pregnant last May. I fell in love with this studio the second I walked it. An immediate feeling of peace and tranquility took over and I just melted into it. Aesthetically it's gorgeous - everything from the paint colors to the smell to the warmth that just washes over you. Ro, one of the owners, greeted me with a smile and a joke - that did it! I felt like I had been going there for years and didn't feel uncomfortable or like I was walking on eggshells at all.
I had never taken a prenatal class before so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. As the class opened though, I knew I was home. Ruby and Amy were so warm and welcoming and knew exactly how to make an expectant mom feel calm and strong at the same time. They take you through a series of poses tailored to your growing belly and while one of them teaches, the other walks around helping you adjust with props and modified poses when needed.
I took classes right up until the week my daughter was born (I went to class on Wednesday night and she was born on Saturday). I say this to stress how amazing both Amy and Ruby are at teaching this class that even with a belly as big as mine and being that far along, I still left class feeling like a million bucks! It's just perfect for any expectant mom - they even have a "baby board" and post all the pictures of the newborns once the moms send them in. HIGHLY recommend this class!
After the "6 week period" was over and I was cleared to start exercising again, I returned and was greeted by a huge smile and hug from Ro and another huge smile and hug from Ruby (she was teaching that first class that I went back to). I took my time getting back into the flow of classes since I had never taken any there apart from the prenatal one and I wasn't quite sure what to expect in terms of the experience level required. I had ZERO core after baby #2 was born so I was a bit hesitant.
Looking back, I don't know why. I should have known that all the other teachers would be just as great. They all took their time with me and the classes allow for a huge range of experience so you never feel over or under challenged.
I now take classes with Toni, Darleen and Ruby. All 3 are AMAZING and have reminded me why I love yoga so very much. There is no place I'd rather start my mornings and am so thankful to have such a wonderful studio so close by. Although, the close distance is just an added benefit because I would drive quite far to attend classes here.
If you're looking for a peaceful, welcoming and stress-relieving place - look no further than 335 Main :) Namaste
