I was searching for Tai Chi lessons for my 74-year-old father when I came across Gang and his many glowing reviews. At the time, my father was in a difficult mental space, he was stubborn, resistant, and dealing with persistent aches and pains. I knew it would take someone exceptionally patient and compassionate to help him feel at ease and stay committed to something new.
Eight classes later, my father has this to say:
“Gang is a remarkably patient and attentive instructor. He explains things in a way that’s easy to understand, and I feel completely comfortable asking questions—even ones I might think are silly. He truly wants to help and makes sure you’re doing the movements correctly.
I was hesitant to try Tai Chi. Maybe because of the stigma that it’s just for older people or that it might be boring, but I was wrong. There are different styles and movements suited for everyone, regardless of age or ability.
Even the simplest movements I learned early on have made a real difference. I now look forward to each class. I find myself naturally incorporating Tai Chi into my daily routine—relaxing my upper torso, shifting weight into my lower body, or bending my knees to relieve pressure on my lower back. These small changes have significantly improved how I feel physically, and that’s positively affected my mental outlook as well.
I feel more energized. Sometimes even an adrenaline rush when practicing certain stances and I’m excited to keep learning. Even though I haven’t mastered all the movements, just trying has already made me feel better, both physically and mentally.
For anyone who might be hesitant, or thinking the way I once did, I encourage you to attend a class and give it a try.”
Gang has truly made a difference in my father’s life, and for that, I’m deeply grateful.

Highly Recommend Coach Huang’s Tai Chi Classes!
I’ve been studying Tai Chi with Coach Huang for over three years, starting with Yang-style Tai Chi and Tai Chi sword, and more recently learning Chen-style Tai Chi. The experience has been deeply rewarding—both for my body and my mind.
Before joining his class, I tried learning Tai Chi on my own, but I struggled with knee pain and eventually had to stop. Since training with Coach Huang, my knee pain has improved significantly. His emphasis on proper technique, alignment, and foundational training—especially in the waist and legs—has made a real difference in my practice and overall well-being..
What I also love is the friendly and supportive atmosphere. The other students are kind and dedicated, and practicing together has made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to take your Tai Chi to the next level, I wholeheartedly recommend Coach Huang’s classes. You’ll not only learn authentic Tai Chi, but also experience real health benefits and become part of a welcoming community.

Master Gang is truly a gem of a Taichi teacher — the kind that is rare to find.
He has a deep mastery of both the anatomical mechanics and the philosophy behind Taichi, combined with a highly trained eye for spotting and correcting students' mistakes. For me, that made a huge difference in my Taichi journey.
In almost two years of learning with him, I feel I finally started to grasp the foundational principles of Taichi practice — something that had felt elusive before.
I wholeheartedly recommend both Taichi and Master Gang as a teacher to anyone interested. It's not easy to find someone who can truly guide you in the fundamentals: correcting your postures, refining your forms, and nurturing the meditative mindset that is so essential to real Taichi practice.

Mr. Gang Huang is a dedicated Tai Chi instructor. He cares about the form, discipline, and the art of Tai Chi. It is my privilege to have known this practice, and I sincerely hope Master can continue and grow his practice in the years to come. I wish to add that there is good energy and you can experience that in his practice; no gimmicks.

Gang Huang is both a master of tai chi and a masterful teacher, which has allowed me to bring the joy of tai chi into my life. Learning from him is so much more than a class about the mechanics of forms. Instead, he brings a true understanding of the experience, which gives much more meaning to what these movements represent. I highly recommend Gang Huang to anyone wishing to learn tai chi, at any age or fitness or experience level. (I wish I could give this rating more than 5 stars!)

Gang Huang is an excellent teacher for people of all ages and abilities. Whether you are older and looking to improve your balance and flexibility, or younger and wanting to try a new martial art, he is able to accommodate everyone in a single class with patience, kindness, and good humor. I am especially grateful that he takes the time to explain each move or posture's practical application, and breaks down everything into understandable chunks. He makes the class feel like a close family or group of friends, all working together to achieve a common goal. As a teacher myself, I know that this is not easy to accomplish in a classroom, but Gang Huang does it.
Before I started taking tai chi classes, I hadn't exercised in a long time because of health problems. After beginning tai chi, I started to feel strong and healthy again, and motivated to practice not just tai chi at home, but also other forms of gentle exercise, because the classes gave me the confidence to once again push for my limits. A gifted teacher makes you feel capable of tackling challenges.
No matter your reason or your ability, if you are looking to begin tai chi, look no further! As Gang Huang himself says, finding a good teacher is the most important part of learning something new. I will never forget his tremendous kindness and wonderful teaching style. I hope to visit and take classes again when I come back from China!

Gang Huang is not only a master practitioner of Tai Chi. He is an extraordinarily gifted teacher as well. I didn’t know what to expect when I started attending his classes, but I was immediately captivated by Tai Chi and by Gang’s incredibly effective teaching style. Gang skillfully accommodates students of all levels—newcomers, oldcomers, people of all ages and abilities—enabling all in attendance to participate on whatever level they can. He is unfailingly patient, kind, welcoming, and encouraging. He explains things clearly, breaking down each move into its component steps and then guiding his students to slowly put it all together. His expert, creative use of analogies helps his students visualize the various moves in their minds and then execute them. When showing his students what they may be doing wrong and how to correct it, he always exudes positivity and good humor. One of the things I find particularly helpful is Gang’s explanations of the martial arts reasons for a particular move—that each move in Tai Chi is not arbitrary but is grounded in a sound principle of self-defense. After only a few lessons with Gang, I have found that my balance and strength have improved, as has my overall sense of well-being. My Tai Chi journey with Gang Huang has so far been an amazing experience.

Because I was unable to continue my daily walks, I decided to “seek” Tai Chi for exercise and stress relief. I’ve been taking weekly in-person instruction for about four months and I try to practice every morning utilizing the videos provided. Thankfully, my agility, balance and also my state of mind have improved since starting Tai Chi. Gang Huang is a highly skilled and knowledgeable teacher for whom I have the utmost respect. I especially appreciate the kindness and sense of calm he brings to every session. Also, the tranquil design of his studio makes me feel like I’m definitely in the right space. Thus far my Tai Chi journey has been enjoyably enriching and I am looking forward to many more enlightening lessons during the coming year.

I've been taking classes at Seeking Tai Chi for several months now, and it's been a wonderful experience. Gang Huang is an excellent instructor, and I feel fortunate to have found him. He teaches not just forms and movements, but also the wisdom and philosophy that inform the practice of Tai Chi. If you give it your full effort, the class can be very challenging, but each student is encouraged to advance at their own pace. Gang offers a great deal of personal attention and creates a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. I especially appreciate the way he makes everyone, of any age, fitness level, and experience feel welcome. I find myself looking forward to class each week and leaving with a feeling of renewed energy and well-being.

Gang is an exceptional teacher. I have studied internal arts off and on for 15 years with several quality teachers – but I always felt like I was missing something. I often felt disconnected and awkward and in some cases experienced joint pain. This led to frustration and discontinuation of practice. I started with Seeking Tai Chi several months ago and very quickly Gang was able to give me good insight into where my big issues were and help me get unstuck and moving forward again. He has a deep knowledge of Tai Chi and keen eye for detail.
Gang communicates very clearly and simply so that lessons stick with you when you are practicing later. He uses many approaches to teach – from verbal explanation and analogies to physical demonstrations and use of photos and videos. He is excellent at showing both the correct approaches to a given move as well as common problematic approaches (extremely helpful!). While we are given individual feedback from him – we are also allowed the opportunity to give feedback to one another (and help ourselves in the process). This greatly increases one’s ability to self diagnose – which is so beneficial for deepening the practice.
The environment at Seeking Tai Chi is welcoming and supportive. As mentioned in a previous review – Gang leads classes with a positive, cheerful mindframe – that is infectious and encourages the same in his students. I feel very lucky to have found Seeking Tai Chi and would recommend it to anyone at any level!

I have absolutely LOVED starting tai chi here! I have Parkinson's Disease and my Dr had suggested tai chi, especially to help my balance. I was very skeptical but eventually figured I would at least give it a try. Well, it has improved my balance quite a bit among other symptoms! Gang is a tremendous instructor who is very deliberate with his teaching to make sure we all understand and are doing the moves correctly. Making sure it is done right, not fast, is key! He utilizes videos as well so those tools are extremely helpful while practicing at home! I hit the jackpot choosing Seeking Tai Chi as my place!! I couldn't be happier!!! I would recommend Seeking Tai Chi to everyone!!!

I have been studying martial arts for over fifty years and know a good instructor when I see one. Master Gang is among the very best I have known. It was always my plan to study tai chi when I became too old to effectively practice karate or aikido. When that day arrived, I began to visit and practice at various tai chi studios. Sadly, there are too many poorly trained instructors teaching tai chi and a few who have little patience or ability to teach the art to older persons. Happily, I found Master Gang and plan to remain his student indefinitely. He is classically trained with a deep understanding of the art of tai chi. His teaching method is detailed and precise but he is most accommodating to the physical challenges older students can pose. Indeed, he takes particular delight in helping a student deal with an infirmity. This is a rare quality found in only the best teachers.
Even with my decades of studying martial arts, he frequently blows my mind with something new I had never even considered. I am learning so much from him! I try not to be one of those students who is always challenging the reason why something is done a certain way as opposed to what I was taught in another art. But when I do ask a question, he always is pleased to explain the purpose of a movement. His positive mindset is infectious. You can't go wrong choosing Master Gang as your instructor.

I have been interested in learning tai chi for a while. After much research I found Seeking Tai Chi and I’m glad I did. I take an online class due to the pandemic, but I feel like I’m there in person. Our instructor is patient and helpful, and takes the time to make sure each student has the proper form. I like the reduced stress, increased awareness, and the good feeling I get after each class. Every week I look forward to the next one. Thank you!

Gang is an excellent teacher,. He is very patient and committed to presenting the foundations of posture, balance and strength I need as a beginner. He presents different exercises and warm-ups to make it easier for our group, responding to our different strengths and weaknesses. He also follows up with short video clips of the skills we practiced in class, which I find extremely helpful. He is patient with me, which in turn helps me be patient with myself as I go through the process of learning the Tai Chi form correctly!

The instructor was very personable, professional and helpful. The classes felt comfortable where you can learn and not get lost. Which I like because when you go to gyms with big classes you may not be doing the movements correctly and this instructor is so patient and takes the time to show each student. Well worth the money. This was my intro class so I hope it continues in this fashion.

I started studying Tai Chi more than a year ago with Gang Huang of Seeking Tai Chi. I did a lot of research before choosing this practice and feel fortunate that such a wonderful option was available near my home. Seeking Tai Chi has surpassed all my expectations and is the highlight of my week. Dr. Huang is an amazing teacher. He is kind, patient, and passionate about passing on his considerable knowledge. He is also dedicated to teaching Tai Chi according to authentic norms. He doesn't rush through the learning process, but carefully explains how to perform the movements and what each movement means. In addition to Tai Chi's well-known physical benefits, Dr. Huang also takes time to teach us the history of this art and its meditative and emotional aspects. Since the COVID-19 crisis, when our classes moved online, I find that Dr. Huang is able to give us the same level of dedication and attention as he did when we were face to face. Classes remain small, but the online format means people from out of town can attend, too. Recently I recommended the class to a few friends and family members who live out of state, and a California relative signed up for regular lessons after just one introductory class! We now have two big fans in one family. Nice.

i have been looking for good Tai-Chi teacher for a while.. most of them I found were teaching "aerobics" that had nothing to do with real Tai-Chi.. then I found seeking Tai Chi,... and so far I am very happy. First of all its part of Yang Family linage... and most importantly it teaches Tai-Chi from inside out... A+++ recommended!!!

My wife and I have been studying under Gang for approximately a year. He is an expert in this art and passionate about teaching. He has great patience and understands that people progress at different rates. He frequently explains the martial purpose of the intent behind the movements of the form. My wife and I enjoy the flexibility and agility that this practice provides to our bodies as well as an understanding of how energy moves through the body and how it can be applied for self defense.

I used to think Tai Chi didn’t look that hard and was something for old people. Now that I am old I’ve discovered that Tai Chi is very challenging and I wish I had started studying it when I was younger—particularly if I could have had a teacher as good as Gang. He is passionate about Tai Chi and it shows in his teaching and how he relates to his students. He doesn’t just show you how to do it. He breaks every form down, showing you first the foot work, then the hands, and then how to put it all together. He also demonstrates the martial arts application for each form. That’s important even if you don’t intend to use it for martial arts. Gang is patient and takes as much time as his students need until they understand how they should move and why. I look forward to every class.

I have been attending Dr. Huang classes for a few years including both Chen and Yang style and fully enjoyed the classes. Dr. Huang is the best teacher. He started teaching new students by building a strong foundation and making sure that each student understands the idea behind every movement and mind-body connection, and performs the correct posture to gain full benefit and avoid injury. After each session I always feel relaxed and recharged. I used to have a knee discomfort after jogging or zumba. With Tai Chi practice, my legs and knees have become stronger. I also see significant improvements in overall balance, flexibility and energy levels. I feel very blessed to learn Tai Chi from him and always look forward to attending his classes.

So far the best Tai Chi teacher I have had. Dr. Huang takes extra time to explain the tricky ideas behind each seemingly simple moves, and how the whole body is supposed to coordinate to facilitate the flow of energy and force. He opens the door for students to achieve deep understandings of the crucial principles underlying Taichi. And through individual attention and corrections while learning each move, these fundamental principles are reiterated to foster deeper appreciations. I have been learning Tai Chi in Master Huang's class for about two years. Not only is Mr Huang an execellent performer himself he knows well how to teach Tai Chi step by step
and fit different situations. For beginners the program is designed in way not hard to follow and meantime there are always new knowledge and skills to learn from. Mr Huang even teaches and demostrates real applications of certain Tai Chi forms, although the main goal of the class is to exercise and stay healthy.
