I found Shraims after moving from the city, having a baby, and experiencing a slow and tough postpartum recovery. I hadn’t boxed in close to 2.5 years, and was so happy when I found Shraims. It’s a real boxing gym where you learn technique and skill, not just boxing fitness. Coaches Ahmed and Amy have vastly improved my conditioning, taught me how to properly use the speed bag, and cleaned up my left hook. I am currently pregnant again and am absolutely amazed by the difference in how I feel this pregnancy vs. the last, and I owe a lot of that to my consistent training at Shraims. I am still able to jump rope, run, lift, and box at 5 months pregnant no problem. The physical and mental benefits of boxing never cease to amaze me, and Shraims Academy provides you with the full experience plus a great community.

I found out about Shraim’s Academy about 10 months ago when I was looking for a boxing gym that suited me. I had never taken boxing classes before and didn’t really know what to expect. Ever since my first time going in, I knew this was the place I wanted to learn the skills of boxing.

Coach Ahmed, the head coach and owner of Shraim’s, does a fantastic job. He has so much knowledge about the sport and makes sure everyone gets the help they need to level up their skills. The entire staff is welcoming and clearly knows what they’re doing.

The gym environment is organized, clean, and has an energy that motivates you to work hard. No matter your experience level, you’ll always feel supported and pushed to improve. I highly recommend Shraim’s Academy to anyone looking to learn boxing, get in shape, or simply join an amazing community.

This gym has an incredible sense of community and a truly authentic boxing experience. The coach breaks everything down in a way that’s easy to understand and applies to real life — you don’t just learn techniques, you learn how to think like a fighter. His instruction is top-notch, teaching both defense and attack with precision and care. The cost is unbeatable for the level of training you get. Everyone there, from the staff to the other boxers, genuinely wants to help you improve. They regularly trained Golden Gloves champs and were known as the team to beat. You’ll grow not only as a boxer, but also as a person, as the coach encourages you to challenge yourself and your mindset. Highly recommend this gym to anyone serious about learning boxing the right way.

Shraims Academy, an awesome and no nonsense boxing gym. Coaches are very professional and respectful. They push you and make sure your form and technique are perfect. A very comfortable and friendly environment to learn old-school boxing. I've joined a while back after watching my Daughter's progress and improved fitness. Many programs to choose from is also a plus at Shraims Academy. We look forward for every Tuesday and Saturday to train for fitness with Coach Ahmed and his awesome team. Try it out, you will love it!!

I started taking private boxing lessons about two months ago with Coach Ahmed, and it has been the best experience! I’m having so much fun learning this new skill. The gym has a great layout, it’s clean, everyone is super friendly. The days I have a lesson are my favorite day of the week!

I utilize Shraim's academy to train my 14 year old son in a group class while I take private lessons from two different coaches including the owner, twice a week.

The price is comparable to other 1 on 1 personal training I have had in the Somerville area in gym settings.

The training is a daily variety including a good focus on warming up, cardio, active rest for timing and speed, strength, technique, movement, and always a good burnout at the end.

The coaches have a good sense of my physiology, what I can and can't do, and how to push me safely into the areas where I need to improve.

The boxing adds a nice dimension of attack and defense molded together in movement. I don't walk around trying to pick fights, but the coaches expose the art in a way that's fun and feels more useful than other open hand martials arts I have studied.

The coaches are personable. They take the time to greet you when you arrive, during the workout they get to know you and even when they are pushing you to be better, to train harder, its done with encouragement and a sense of where you were last time you were there and where they need to take you next.

I work specifically with Coach Kyle and Coach Ahmed. I entrust the care and training of my son to Coach Dillon, and Coach Mark. I haven't had the opportunity to train with Coach Amy or Coach Chris yet.

The training that I have observed from the other coaches seems consistent in form and quality with what I am getting. My son will complain that he is exhausted on the ride home, and gives good feedback about his bouts with the other kids. He conveys a conviction that this is a thing that he likes to do and wants to continue to do.

I recommend Shraim's with confidence.

Owner was rude and seems to struggle with anyone even having a minor disagreement with him.

I told him I didn’t like his policy on cancelations but would follow it and he still refused to renew my son.

This was after 20 minutes of explaining policies I understand but which I find predatory to me despite me telling him it’s ok. I’ll follow it I just don’t agree that it’s a good policy.

Anyway. Maybe he’s fine if your not someone who ever shares an opinion he doesn’t like with him.

Shraims has been a great place for my son to not only build strength, but also build character. We've had the pleasure of working with Coaches Dylan, Amy, and Mark, and all have done an exceptional job understanding my son's current limitations and special needs, while providing a positive and healthy experience. Coach Dylan has gone above and beyond to create a bond and level of trust with my son, while conditioning, strengthening, and learning boxing basics. He is always creating new and fun ways to work with my son, at his level, while still pushing him to strive for independence and to constantly better himself. He never compares my son to others - rather works with him where he's at, and looks at ways to build a path of where he can go. Coach Ahmed takes the time to check in and connect with each person who walks into the gym. He demonstrates (as well as coaches) strength of body and mind. I've witnessed him encouraging kids of all ability levels to be the best version of themselves - in training and in the rest of their lives. If you have a child struggling to figure out who they are and what they want out of life, this could be a great place to start that journey - and get fit in the process. If you're looking to get stronger, faster, try something new, connect with great people, or challenge yourself, Shraims could be a great fit for you. It's worth checking them out. Stop by or call to see for yourself. It just might be the first step that changes the rest of your life.

My name is Jake Edelstein and i’ve been going to Shraim’s Academy for a very long time and it has transformed my life. It still shocks people to this day on how much i’ve improved in fitness all together and I would give all the credit to this gym for sparking a fire inside of me that made me determined to be the best boxer I can. I still make mistakes but as I go I will improve and Coach’s training is truly amazing and very effective. Coach has taught me that somedays are gonna feel very difficult but it’s most important you push through. Coach has inspired me to push beyond my limits and give everything i’ve got. I would 100% recommend Shraims Academy!

if your looking for a great atmosphere to train and develop as a fighter or get in shape Shraim’s academy is the place to be.
My name is jean paul lopez i’m 23 years old and i’m a amateur fighter coming out of Shraim’s Academy. My journey started 4 years ago, i wanted a sport that could challenge me but at the same time being combat based. Like you reading this right now i searched up the best gym in the area and boom shraim’s academy at the top, not only did i search it up i also have multiple friends and family that went to shraims academy and loved it.
Coach ahmed the head coach/owner of Shraim’s Academy trained me everyday the basics because that’s most important to perfect before moving onto anything. After a couple months passed i noticed this was natural to me and i picked up everything easier than most people, this gave me hope and belief i could have success in this sport.
Fast forward a year im finally ready to go out to compete after the hardest 3 month conditioning camp of my life, it was finally time to show my skills and put it to the test.
My experience at the tournament was huge. Although i came out of the tournament victorious being a state boxing champion i learned some lessons. Never give up , always listen , keep your head held high , go out with honor and have confidence in yourself all lessons that can be translated into real life.
All of this wouldn’t be possible without my great Coach Ahmed. i learned i’m not the only one sacrificing my time effort and strength my coach is too. He’s a very hardworking, caring, strong , confident, supportive, and respectful person.
Overall i learned that without hardwork and discipline nothing is possible. So now i have question what’s stopping you from being at the top with the best and being in top tier shape?

I’ve been training here for three years, and I have every right to say whether this place is good or not. I can responsibly say that if you want to learn real boxing instead of showboxing, then coming here is absolutely the right choice. Before I came here, I had tried other boxing gyms. Either the personal trainers were irresponsible, or beginners were treated without respect. But Here. You’ll be treated with respect.
I first started personal training with coach Kyle for a year. He is a great coach to teach my fundamentals and push my stamina. After that, I started my journey to train with coach Ahmed. He not only taught me how to box but also he guided me how to be a worrier, to be a man! I don’t know if I can still continue boxing if I didn’t meet coach Ahmed. Since I broke my left shoulder before I came here. Even after surgery i still had PTSD about my shoulder. But he encouraged and pushed me step by step. So, i that’s what shaped who i am today. A real Man! Thanks my coach and mentor Ahmed!
Finally, I want to say that if you or your child truly want to learn professional boxing or become a man, this is undoubtedly the best choice.

They are always there for us even if we needed any advice on life or school situations. We are both in amazing shape thanks to the great training that we have received the past few years. Coach Ahmed is like a second father to us and the rest of the coaches are like older brothers. My brother and I are now very well trained boxers and are able to defend ourselves if need be. Not good with words but don't let that take away from this review. This place changed my life. When I started I was 160lbs super under weight for my size and very depressed. I'm now up to a healthy 190, I feel better about myself then I have in a very long time, and have made friends with some truly remarkable people. Everyone in this gym treats each other like family. It has improved all aspects of my life, Coach Ahmed Shraim is a wizard. Can't describe the gift him and Coaches John and Chris have given me. If your even thinking about coming come you won't regret it. Would give this place 10 stars if I could. Edit: it has been two years + since I have begun and I feel it is time for an update to my review. I have recently had to leave as I have started an electrical contracting business and my schedule no longer allows for the time I feel this gym deserves. Coach Ahmed changed my life. He did so through his elite level of boxing education but most importantly through his expert tutelage of the things I have been going through in my personal life. He gave me the motivation and confidence I needed to start living the kind of life I have always wanted to live. The family he has built at the gym is something a man can only hope to be a part of once in his lifetime and the friendships I have built since I have started are friendships I will carry with me for the rest of my life. If you are somebody reading this wondering if you should start boxing here I cannot encourage you enough this is the place to start to fix the rest of your life. I love the Shraims family and I will never forget each and everyone of you. I can't wait to see you in the ring!

I’m deeply appreciative of the beneficial impact that Shraim’s Academy under Coach Kyle had on my overall fitness improvements and the accompanying mentality. It’s the first gym (out of the many over the years) that kept me interested and engaged all the way to a point where demonstrable improvements became apparent. Interestingly, that tipping point occurred for me personally after three months into a six month period, when the weekly meet changed from an often painful chore to a fun personal challenge/benchmark due to the accumulated personal improvements. Highly recommend this place.

3 years ago, I began taking boxing lessons at Shraim’s Academy. As a 41-year old male, my ultimate goals were to build on and incorporate a strong weekly exercise routine while learning self-defense at the same time. Just as important to all of this was learning the proper techniques and fundamentals of boxing. I look forward to my weekly work-outs, and as the weeks pass, I have made great strides in my ability to jump rope, hit the speed and heavy bags, and improve my punch and self-defense technique during mitt work in the ring. Stamina and endurance soared, along with confidence. Aside from this, I’ve watched my coach, Ahmed Shraim, coach some of the fighters at his academy in NJ Golden Gloves competitions, and have had the pleasure of watching one particular fighter win the Golden Gloves for his weight class. If your goal is to improve on your boxing skills as a fighter in competition, or simply enhance your current work-out routine and learn self-defense, you can go the distance with Coach Shraim and the coaches at Shraim’s Academy.

My time at Shraims Academy has been the most beneficial time iv ever spent and set aside for myself i have gone from not working out since high-school smoking cigarettes and letting work and demonds get the best of me to having my first fight in the ring( 3. 2:00 minute rounds) with a well experienced fighter protecting myself having energy to land combinations i learned during my training and be able to run 5k's as a reflection and therapeutic moments multiple times a week this place hase given me the ability to completely flip my situation around you can too I attend 3 adult boxing class's a week with our gyms charismatic leader, honorable gentleman and detail oriented coach and all the other hard working mixed age class (your never too old to start) that all have a strong camaraderie and determin mindsets training with the different levels frequently in class helps build new learning experiences's and also builds confidence to keep you emursed in the process I have found this to be the most fun and adventurous ways to transform my body sharpen my mind build confidence and bring calmness and peace in my daily life it's easy to find others willing to help you on your Warrior's journey here or technical awareness seeing the positive changes being noticed by others in my daily life and in the gym makes the freezing winter mornings or just don't wanna get out of bed classes somthing to look foward to knowing the gratification I'll have after visiting the Shraims family of fighters and coaches growing stronger and faster every week shouts out to John who leads our Monday night strength and conditioning classes that I know play a major part in keeping me active more frequently giving me more confidence in my training and the results they produce and then lifestyle sets in and you know your on your way to goal whatever it may be I believe this has changed my life for the better but also for life "I've lost my mind doing this. Like Vincent van Gogh. He dedicated his life to his art and lost his mind in the process. That's happened to me. But f--k it" the gym is always very clean and always feels like home and always provides our youth with the discipline and confidence they are deprived of anywhere else in our modern life I believe these are the tools and values they need to be supplied with to live healthy positive and more structured lives I wish I would have had the opportunity earlier in life but im here now and you can too thank you to everyone who is involved in this journey our coaches our golden gloves fighters and our champion and coach Alasandro, coach Amy, coach Chris, coach Kyle, coach Dylan, Ryan, Mark, J.p, Rod, and Derek and most importantly our profoundly wise leader coach Shraim i plan to continue training hard no matter what weather conditions or self doubt there is no excuse to not get up and just get there and you will soon see the self you wanna see in the mirror I first came here made of cookie doe, after a few weeks I was carved out of wood and in that i have found freedom "Without Pain, Without Sacrifice, We Would Have Nothing."

I had neither boxing experience nor youth when I first stepped into Shraim’s Academy. Many of the other adults were half my age; even the oldest ones were over ten years younger than me. Yet the instant camaraderie and encouragement of the other students coupled with Coach Ahmed’s expert guidance won me over immediately. Within six months I lost 20 pounds. Moreover, I learned and honed the fundamentals of real boxing.

This is a place of learning and development. If you already have training and want to spar, they can accommodate. If you’re a beginner—young or old—you can learn to box safely at your own pace. A young man in our class won the 2022 Golden Gloves under Coach Ahmed’s tutelage. Others in our class have no plans to compete in the ring but have nonetheless won personal victories as they vastly improved their footwork, punching, defensive capabilities and overall fitness. (As for me, I knocked out high blood pressure and excess weight all while learning an awesome skill.)

The training is intense but not stressful. There is zero sales pressure. “If it starts to not be fun or right for you, it is ok to stop,” Coach Ahmed once told me. Fortunately, it remains both fun and constructive. People want to be there—many members have been with Coach Ahmed for years.

If you’re thinking about it, try it. You will be welcome and will have an uncommon opportunity to learn and improve while having fun.

Great gym, if you want to get into boxing it’s a great place to go. Coach Ahmed truly cares and if you put in the time and work it will go a long way. You can just box casually too, if you just want a place to meet some great people and get in shape. They have private training sessions and group classes all age levels, and great coach’s throughout the gym. There’s also opportunities to spar every class and a bunch of different bags to work on your craft. If you are looking for a place to compete or just want to get into martial arts boxing is great and the gym is awesome.

This is an updated review after 8 years of extended use!

You know those reviews where someone adds an update like…bought this toaster last year, and after 6 months of daily use, it’s still our goto appliance…well…as important as our Breville toaster is to us (not kidding, they’re awesome), this is like that. BUT ITS ABOUT HELPING YOUR KID.

Yes, Schraim’s is a great gym for kids (and adults) looking to get physically fit or just a bit healthier, but I wanted to share how this somewhat innocent choice of gyms led to a far more encompassing value, and helped us do what as parents is, well just plain hard. Helping your child be the best version of themselves.

Like many Parents, finding the right outside influence to help your child develop is not an easy task. Whether it’s the right physical activity, hobby, or something more difficult like an emotional outlet, it can quickly become a daunting task. At least that’s how my wife and I experienced it at the time (8 years ago) when looking for our 13-year-old son.

What attracted us to Schraim’s was Coach Ahmed’s simplistic approach to training the body, but also how he gently peppered important life lessons through conversation and, well just being another ear to listen. The idea of preparing our son to box both physically and mentally, without having to necessarily spar, if you didn’t want to sounded cool. But it also made sense. Heck, everyone knows Rocky. Imagine if your kid could have all that…without a face that looks like cauliflower and a sheer inability to enunciate. As Coach Ahmed explained, he was focused on developing our son’s body and spirit, and not preparing our son for a brawl. Although secretly, as a dad, I wanted him to be ready for whatever life throws at him…including a punch to the nose. Spoiler alert…don’t mess with my son .

Our son started once week in a group class, and before long was begging us for private sessions. Coach got him hooked, as did all his fantastic staff; like Coach Amy, another great person. But as Coach promised, it was more than just a work-out at Schraim’s. Coach Ahmed encourages everyone to engage, just like life! and he created a great environment that gives the kids a platform, not just a ring. They would talk about life, music, business, history, politics, news…you name it (coach is well read, and not just in amazing shape). And never in a way that would cross a boundary or party line. Just good old fashioned human engagement. Did you ever just want your kid to learn how to talk. Maybe it’s my age, but texting, isn’t a conversation...

Over the years, our son has continued to blossom, and become that best version of himself. Coach delivered on his promise, to develop both his body and his mind. He helped us position things a child can’t always hear from a parent. Which hardened some of the softer skills one needs to do the rest, and that really helped us both. LET’S FACE IT, PARENTING IS REALLY HARD. They don’t tell you that in the brochure.

Our son has never sparred, but I know he could jump in the ring anytime because he is a confident, strong, healthy young man.

He is now in his last year of college getting a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to finding Schraim’s we lovingly referred to him as our little couch potato. Now he can lift the couch over his head, while explaining the various forces at play. What more could a parent ask for!

He doesn’t get to train as often as he would like these days because he’s away at school during semesters, but he takes any chance he can to see Coach and have a quick workout…but really, we know it’s for the conversation.

Guess what. We ended up with the best darn toaster ever made…blows away the Breville. So if you ever need help making a well-formed kid, bring em’ to Schraim’s.

My 19year old came home from college for the summer. He had no boxing experience before college and only a couple of months training with his college boxing team. After three months at Shraim's Academy, he's ready to compete for a spot on his college competitive team. The fundamentals of footwork, head movement, proper striking, combinations and hard work are stressed at this gym. Coach Shraim has not only produced a Gold Gloves champion, but has created an environment for many more to succeed. A first-class gym and first-class coach.

The best decision I made for myself was to train with Coach Ahmed. He holds you accountable and provides individualized feedback so you can continually improve. I've gone from zero (could barely run half a mile) to having the energy, stamina, and confidence to actually look forward to my daily run, or whatever the next challenge may be. The gym is clean and truly judgement free. Highly recommended.

Shraim’s Academy is a boxing gym for everyone. Our 6 and 8 year olds have developed their focus, speed and strength, as well as their self confidence. They are praised for their growth and encouraged to push themselves to learn new skills. As adults, my husband and I enjoy buddy lessons each week. It has allowed us to workout together and have some laughs along the way. Coach Amy and Coach Ahmed are AMAZING and structure their private lessons to help you meet your personal goals. We definitely recommend Shraim’s!!!

After hearing my sister rave about boxing, it got me curious about the sport. I came across Shraim's Academy based on a google search with great reviews. Because of my profession, I needed the flexibility so I went with private lessons with coach Ahmed. He's delivered more than what I signed up for. I don't know how he did it, but he was able to motivate someone who's never been able to commit to an exercise routine to do a mile a day runs! Boxing aside, he's made a positive impact in my life in prioritizing fitness and health. Thanks coach!

Shraim’s academy is such a wonderful gym for young children up to adults. The more experienced members help you hone your skills and take time out of their training to help you improve. No one at the gym judges and are very supportive whether it be with speed bag, jump roping, or footwork.
The coaches are incredible! They truly want the best for you and have that faith in you disciplining you and giving that extra push!
As a newbie, I find that this gym is doing an amazing job at teaching me!

The instructor was extremely rude , we have paid 600 dollars to have 3 of my kids in there , the trainer said something to my child and I did not understand what it was , I later called my husband to call the trainer to ask . He was extremely unprofessional and defensive stating “ if you don’t like the way I talk to your kids then don’t bring them here “ I already paid in Advance for the trainer to say “I don’t want your kids here anymore” for some who works with kids , this is not the way to handle any situation. When I joined Shraims back in October 2020 I wasn't in the best spot, I was always angry and I needed a way to get my frustration out. Boxing was the way, it's one of the best things I've done, I learned how to fight and channel my anger and frustration. I've learned life lessons from coach and met a lot of cool people along the way. I highly recommend this place, I walk out of this place with a smile every class just because I learned something. When I joined Shraims Academy in April of 2021, I was completely out of shape in mind, body and spirit. I couldn't run for more than 30 seconds let alone do a sit up or even punch the heavy bag for more than a minute. I was deep in grief from the loss of my husband, didn't care much about anything and what little that was left of "me", I knew I needed to do something.
Fast forward to October 2021. I have lost 30 pounds, I just ran a 5K and I am gaining confidence in my boxing skills. Do I plan to box in a ring as a sport, no. But I do intend to continue my journey at Shraims Academy for my body, mind, and spirit. I can't thank Coach Ahmed for bringing me out of my downward spiral of self destruction. I am a different person than when I walked into the gym in April. Thank you Coach Ahmed. See you next week!

I am someone who has wanted to do boxing for quite some time. However, I never tried because I was inhibited by my insecurities. I also struggle with social anxiety. As a result, I worried that I would be judged for my lack of experience. After coming home from university, I decided that I should start being more proactive about my physical activity. I read reviews on a variety of boxing gyms in my area but Shraims was the one that stood out the most.
When I came to the first lesson, I was pleasantly surprised by how warm the staff was. Although I was really quiet and nervous, they worked to make sure that I was comfortable in the environment. Especially my coach, Chris, really pushed me to get out of my shell. He's a very exuberant person so I found it quite easy to get comfortable around him. I am eternally grateful for my coach who always listened when I was having a tough time. As a result, Shraims Academy has become such a safe space for me. Due to me becoming more confident around my coach, I think my abilities skyrocketed. My only regret is that I didn’t start training at Shraims earlier.
If you’re someone like me who is overthinking about whether you should start boxing, I guarantee you that this is the place to be.

Joining Shraim’s Academy and training with Coach Amy has been one of the best decisions that I’ve ever made for myself. As someone who was never into sports or even that athletic at all, when I first joined Shraim’s I was terrified that it would be too much for me or that I wouldn’t be able to do the workouts. Instead when I walked through the door I was greeted by Coach Amy and Coach Ahmed who were both genuinely excited to have me there. Coach Amy spent time talking to me about what I could expect from our time together and calmed all my anxieties. We started out small, building up until I could do some crazy stuff I never thought was possible. The atmosphere of the gym is warm and welcoming which is pretty refreshing considering other gyms tend to be stiff and awkward. Everyone supports each other at Shraim’s - when you join, you join a community of people who cheer at your successes and help you get through killer workouts when you feel like you can’t do it at all. Plus, boxing is incredibly fun and empowering! I’ve never in my life felt as strong as I do since joining.

If you want to get strong and push yourself to become a better you - you’ve gotta join Shraim’s. Boxing has made me more confident in myself, and has taught me that I can do anything I want if I work hard at it. Thank you, Coach Amy and Coach Ahmed! You guys rock!

I am not someone to review products or places, but feel compelled to do so. My son is a hockey player and decided one day on a whim he wanted to try boxing. Having no knowledge of the sport, we did some research on local gyms and decided to try Shraims. BEST.DECISION.EVER! I thought my son would get stronger and get in shape with the addition of boxing, but Coach Ahmed has given him so much more. He is a teacher, friend, mentor and all around wonderful man. He has given my son confidence, strength (mental and physical) and a voice. Coach Ahmed not only works on how to make the body physically in shape with exercise, but how to eat, and how to treat your body and mind outside the gym. Coach teaches respect. Respect of people, respect of property and of one's self. My younger son has started with coach as well and the change in him is as wonderful. Being inspired by watching my boys, I have started training with one of the other trainers at the gym, Amy (all of them are great!) Amy will work with you to tailor a plan to achieve the goals you are looking to achieve without feeling uncomfortable about yourself or the shape, or not shape you may be in ;) . The gym is the perfect size and the standards of cleanliness exceed any I have seen in public gyms. There are many different classes offered from groups to private lessons. I smile watching all the small kids coming running into the gym with pure joy on their faces getting ready for their group lessons. Look no more, you have found the place to the best version of you that you can be!

Coach Shraim and Coach Amy do a fantastic job of using boxing as a way to teach life skills. My son has gone to Shraim's Academy for nearly 3 years and our experience has been nothing short of excellent. He gets the right balance of boxing skills development, conditioning and the invaluable life lesson of how to be a good student and team member. Both Coaches are welcoming but firm, technically expert but fun. That balance, in my experience is very very rare and really makes me feel good about sending my son the Shraim's.

When I first thought about boxing I believed it was just gonna be another thing I did to get a good workout in. However it took only one private lesson at Shraim’s boxing academy with Kevin and Coach Ahmed for me to fall in love with boxing. Being a colligate athlete myself I’ve had my fare share of personal trainers and coaches. However Coach Ahmed quickly became one of my favorite coaches I’ve ever worked with. Boxing has become a passion of mine over the past 6 months. It’s something I look forward to every week and I’m greatful for every minute I get to spend with Coach Ahmed. He does a great job of pushing you to work hard, while also making boxing extremely fun. I’m challenged every class to get better and push my limits. When I first started boxing I could hardly jump rope, had no idea how to hit pads, and not a clue how to use the speed bag. I would now consider myself proficient in all those areas in just 6 months. Coach Ahmed will push you to reach your goals and will make you a better person. I would recommend Shraim’s academy to any boxer or anyone who wants to get into boxing. This isn’t your average shadow boxing waste of money class, this is for someone who wants to become proficient in boxing and combat sports.

We absolutely love Shraims! I had always wanted to put my boys in boxing to build their self confidence and of course their stamina and overall well-being. After looking for a little bit we finally found Shraims. My older son started going to classes and soon after his brother joined. Coach Ahmed is a blessing to have as a coach and mentor for the boys. We had almost seen an instant change in them (strength and behavior).
Discipline was also an added bonus! ( not gonna lie, I've used coach Ahmed's a couple of time to put them in check)
When they opened up after the covid lock down, we felt safe bringing them back when they told us about the extra precautionary measures they'll be taking.
Overall an amazing place to be from A-Z.

Come this spring I'll have been training at Shraim's Academy for 9 years, and looking back I can tell that coming here was one of the best decisions I've ever made. When I started out at 10 years old I was an inactive, small, timid boy that was afraid of everyone bigger than me and rarely looked forward to coming in and having punches thrown at me. I would occasionally cry after getting hit too hard and nothing could stop me from walking in a straight line back away from my opponent. Over time while I slowly learned, one thing became abundantly clear. If you come in, and put effort in your training, Coach will never give up on you. He constantly pushes us to do our best, whether you think you can achieve it or not. I've known this man for nearly half of my life and I can say easily that he is the type of person that you want in your corner if you're aiming to succeed. My only regrets as of the past few years are that I didn't come to the gym enough, letting other things in life and laziness prevent me from training. I can't imagine a version of my life where I never trained at Shraim's Academy, mostly because I never want to. I know that the only reason I am remotely proud of the person I have become today is because of everything I have gone through with Coach and my family here at Shraim's.

I have been taking the young adults boxing class since this summer, and I definitely recommend people to join. I tried many sports, that I didn't fully enjoy. I rather enjoyed doing other hobbies I liked in the creative realm, but I always yearned to do a sport, something physical to do outside from comfort zone. For a last reach of hope, I tried out boxing. Boxing was appealing to me since I wanted to learn how to defend myself when needed, and to get in shape. I was nervous to take my first class, but everyone there was very helpful and friendly. From my classmates and the coaches, everyone was very welcoming. I have learnt so much already in my first classes, and my time here; and I hope to continue doing boxing here.

My first day at Shraims was particularly awkward. I was the only girl in my class and I just felt out of place. That changed before I walked out of the door that day. Everyone acted like I was just one of the boys and I have now formed some of the closest friendships with the people I met at Shraims. I wanted to box for a few years before I started but it took a lot of convincing to let my parents allow me to do so. They were afraid of me getting hurt, losing focus on other priorities, and had several preconceived notions about the sport in their minds. Eventually I convinced them to let me join and none of us has regretted the decision even slightly since. I have been boxing for more than 2 years and I have never been badly injured, our preconceived notions about the sport turned out to be false, and my focus and dedication improved in a way I never saw coming. While learning how to fight, I also learned discipline, drive, hard work and most importantly, I learned how to hold myself accountable. The heart of the gym is Coach though. He truly wishes the best for everyone and his relentless spirit to get all of us to perform the best we possibly can, and more, has pushed me to reach physical and mental heights I never believed I could. I got in shape, learned boxing strategy, and obviously, how to fight. He is not only extremely knowledgeable about boxing, but about life and the world in general. I go to boxing every week looking forward to talk to Coach about everything from politics to why people dye their hair blue. I have learned everything from boxing technique to philosophies about life from him and always walk out of the gym learning something new. Now my mom, the one who was most resistant to me fighting, is happy I can fight and can defend myself. I highly recommend this gym to everyone because there is genuinely a place for everyone at this gym! The rigor of training, inclusivity, environment, and vibe in this gym is unmatched and I look forward to going to training every day.

When you hear people say that they feel “at home” somewhere, you might think it’s a bit of an exaggeration. But after going to Shraim’s Academy for 3 years and counting, I can confidently say I understand what they mean. I began my journey here as a young teen with absolutely no confidence in myself, with no training or experience in boxing, and no place to feel like I can truly let go and become a better person. I walked through that front door expecting to be out of place, but the moment I walked in, I was pulled right into the group. I was nervous, and above all, scared to fail at first. But after that first day I realized there is nothing at Shraim’s except encouragement, dedication, and energy. My peers have become some of my closest friends, and through the amazing and challenging training provided by our head Coach, I learned to build myself back up. Our Coach is someone I feel I can trust, and the training I received here is exceptional! Coach knows what he is doing, and it shows in all of the people I train with. He not only encourages, but expects everyone to help each other to get better, because our peers are the people we train with, and when they get better we all do. The atmosphere he along with Coach Amy and all of the senior instructors created is nothing short of incredible! Everyone around me was encouraging, friendly, and were willing to point out the things I did wrong. I became part of a family here, and with every session I pushed myself and was pushed by my peers to get better and better. It did not matter to them where I came from, who I was at first, or the issues I had; whether I had ADHD and anger management issues or commitment problems, the only thing that mattered was if I was willing to get better each and every time I went through that metal door. This place has brought out the best in me. My confidence has grown to new heights, and I have finally been able to look at myself and be proud of what I’ve become. I am not only extremely fit compared to 3 years ago, but I feel so much more healthy too! At this gym, I learned to cut out the excuses, put in the work, and seize my opportunity; whether it be an opening for a beautiful (and downright vicious) uppercut or that one internship I always wanted. I learned to control my emotions, and use it constructively, as well as learn that I truly can succeed if I focus and believe in my abilities. If you’re considering coming here, I say you absolutely should! You won’t regret signing up!

Although I have only been boxing at Shraim's for about 6 months, there are many things I've learned. Alongside learning self defense, I have learned that hard work pays off. In the beginning, I was nervous, as I had never previously taken any boxing classes. I soon realized that there was no need to be nervous since the coaches and boxers made me feel welcomed. After a month or two of boxing, I noticed that I became more confident and that all my hours of training was worth it. Boxing at Shraim's is unlike any experience I ever had. The coaches here are always pushing the students to do better and always find a new way to motivate them. I started Shraims Academy more then a year ago and I am so glad and happy with my self that I got to put my self in. I’ve always wanted to learn how to fight because of where I wanted to be in the future. But there is way more than just learning to fight if you’re going to enter Shraims. First off the people there, extremely nice and friendly. Everyone is your friend there, no such thing as hate and no matter where you are in boxing experience, everyone gives you amazing advice. You have people who helps you spot your flaws in boxing, but you also have the people who pushes you beyond your limits to become the best of yourself. The coaches at shraims, they are very considerate and nice and I mean it, all money spent there is WORTH it. They are amazing at teaching you the ways of boxing, and they get you in shape no matter what. My first day, I was going to pass out, and I couldn’t hit the punching bag hard. But eventually it became like a normal thing for my body to do. When I mean it’ll get you in shape, it’ll really get you in the best shape possible. Everything about that gym is amazing, the equipment, the people, the trainers. And the head Coach. Because without him, I definitely wouldn’t be who i am today, and I am grateful for that. There is no one like him, he really pushes you beyond your imagination, your limits. So if you’re thinking of joining, I really say do it. You’re not going to regret it.

I first started at Shriams Academy because it was one of the few locations to allow outdoor training. I had no boxing experience and was in my head about holding the class back and fitting in. After 6 months of training at Shriams, I can honestly say finding this gym is one of the silver linings to 2020. Coach has created a friendly, welcoming environment for all, and spends time during every class pushing each individual to be his or her best. The more experienced members of the group are so knowledgeable and actively work to help newer members improve during drills. Not only have I seen major physical improvements since starting at Shriams, but the lessons learned in class have also helped me to grow mentally. I am more confident, more disciplined, and now have developed self defense skills. At this point, other gyms are opening back up, but I refuse to give up my Tuesday/ Thursday boxing & the friendships I’ve made at Shriams.

I’ve been going to Shraim's Academy for about the last three and a half years. The conditioning class is definitely beneficial for the full-body workout it provides, and it’s been a great complement to my running routine. It's the type of workout you probably wouldn't do on your own -- jump rope, box jumps, agility ladder, tire flips, etc., as well as boxing. There's no need to worry about getting bored either, because the workout changes constantly.

Don't be concerned if you're not in the best shape. The classes work no matter what your fitness level is, and the instructors are really helpful, especially with new members.

Working out at Shraim's is a nice break from my daily routine, and the good people, good conversation, and good music are enough to keep you engaged and excited to come back.

There are so many things I am thankful for in the time my son was able to spend here. He had little interest in fitness/athletics and the health benefits that go along with it, prior to beginning. He loved working with all of the coaches in Boxing and Conditioning. For months they worked hard with him to get him motivated to a point they saw in his potential and knew he could attain with his fitness. Once he accomplished some of his goals, especially getting his name on the board; they often used him as an example for the other kids to try and work harder and he always told me about it after class. He was so proud! This boosted his desire to be even better. While under their training he was able to go from having an overweight BMI when he began to a healthy BMI as we are departing. For the first time in his life he has confidence not only in the strength he has attained while attending Shraim’s, but also confidence in the person he is and has become. I believe that is hugely due to the staff never giving up on him and always believing in him. When I look at him today, I know that a big part of him becoming the young man he is today is thanks to Shraim’s Academy. We will never forget what you did for him! I highly recommend them!

We’ve explored other local gyms but they can’t compete with price and coaching. If you want your kids to learn self defense in a controlled environment, pushed beyond their comfort zone give the beast factory a shot. Your kids will thank you for it when they get older.

I took a self defense course here and really learned a lot of useful tips. After acting out different scenarios and learning how to respond in certain situations I feel like I have the tools to defend myself and keep practicing. Ahmed really took the time to make sure all of us were doing the right moves in the correct way. I would recommend this class to any other person looking to learn a few tricks to defend themselves! My friends and I enjoyed the class so much we are probably going to sign up for kick boxing as well

Our family loves this place! My 10 year old son has been taking boxing, conditioning classes and private lessons for 5 years. We also started our 5 year old son in the kids boxing class. The owner and his staff are great coaches and inspire my kids to work hard! Sometimes they do not even realize how hard they are working because they are having so much fun! Through this gym my kids have been able to build their self esteem, confidence, strength and agility. My son has been able to confidently defend himself in situations when necessary and excels in the sports he plays. I already see the improvement in my 5 year olds balance and strength and he is having a blast while gaining these skills!

We do every Saturday and will soon be adding in Wednesdays for Ju Jitsu. Overall a great way to build confidence, life long skills and discipline. The owner is very hands on and is pretty awesome too!

Definitely a great experience training at the gym. I was visiting from Phoenix to see family and was looking for an MMA/Boxing gym to train and I came across Shraim Academy to take their Saturday morning boxing class. The class was well structured and on point. The coach was super experienced and knowledgable in boxing. All the students were nice and welcoming. I will definitely come back to this gym when I come back to visit family. I recommend joining this gym if you are looking to start learning boxing, Muay Thai, boxing, BJJ or MMA.

I've been boxing at Shraim's for 4 months, and I feel in the best shape of my life. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed into the boxing community and I look forward to every single class. Coach Ahmed is a really good teacher and I have learned so much about boxing in such a short time. The environment at Shraim's is really amazing because everyone is friendly and wants you to succeed. I have gotten in great shape, learned how to box, and made some really good friends. This is just an all around great place! Highly recommend it!

It's a great environment & everyone is friendly. The coaches are amazing and experienced & will tailor to your level. I highly recommend coming here it's a great workout and you will learn a lot. I've noticed improvement overtime as I've come here, and it has helped me outside of the gym as well. I can't say enough good things about my experience at Shraim's Academy. I came with very little boxing experience, and after a year of training with Coach Ahmed I've grown into a capable and strong fighter. Coach has the unique ability to connect with his fighters, turning sessions into fun but still extremely challenging workouts that focus on proper technique. I've seen benefits from my boxing training carry over into my other sports (horseback riding, softball, basketball, etc.).

Coach's Ahmed and Amy foster a welcoming and friendly environment where both new and experience boxers can learn and hone their skills. If you are looking for a hard workout, in a great environment, with wonderful coaches then I highly recommend your try Shraim's Academy.

I've been attending Shraim's for the past five months. I did not start going here because it would be easy. Instead, I am doing this because it is very hard and presents a challenge each and every moment.

I never considered boxing before I started going to Shraim's. However, I quickly found out that it is a great workout. By the time I leave each day, my shirt is drenched. If your interest is conditioning, then there are classes for that. If your interest is to get into the ring and fight, then there are options for that at well. I never would have thought five months ago that I would take punches in the face and keep moving forward like nothing happened.

As for my personal motivation, I am doing this because I want to live. I don't want to take the easy routes in life. I want to look back and say that I lived whether it was overcoming difficult obstacles in boxing or anything else life throws at me. As a side benefit, other members have advised me how much more developed and conditioned I look since I started.

I would like to thank both Coach Shraim and Coach Amy for helping me get better each time. I enjoy your classes and think that you are both wonderful people as well. I hate it when I have to miss a class.

I'll close it out by quoting (or at least close enough) the extraordinarily articulate Arnold Schwarzenegger from the American masterpiece "Predator". "What are you waiting for? Doooo it. Doooo It!!!"

TAKE THIS CLASS, YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID!
Shraims Academy is an excellent gym for those who take interest in the art of fighting. I have taken boxing conditioning classes two days a week and have taken regular adult boxing classes here 1 day a week for a total of three days a week. I have attended Shraim’s Academy since May and can without question say that I have received major reward since joining. Originally, I wanted to take boxing classes for fitness only, but was also intrigued by the boxing method. I have longed for a great beach body since I attend Flagler College in Florida during the year. I know that boxing is a high cardio and endurance activity that would potentially burn fat and help me attain the body I have long desired. Coach Shraim is wise in the ways of fighting, is very knowledgeable in all areas of wellness and has helped me in many other ways unrelated to boxing. I have gained so much more from this class than just boxing. In my three months here, I have not fully attained my desired physique, but have certainly put myself on the path to success in understanding that hard-work takes no shortcuts. If I wish to have the body of my dreams I have to put in consistent effort in all areas (Training, Diet, Fasting, Attitude). The lifestyle hacks I have learned in my three months here have, without any doubt, made this experience so worth it.

I joined this gym last month and I think it's a good value.
Categories: Teaching, gym equipment, price
Good teaching practices create good environments. Newbies in group classes get a lot of individual attention. Even during open gym sessions, the coaches always look to help you at. Mr. Kevin, one of the younger coaches and most experienced fighters, spars with you even during when he's training. This culture embodies everyone to do their best and help each other.
Gym equipment- they have a pull up jungle gym, every type of punching bag, a boxing ring, jump ropes, jump boxes, tires, bench rack, weights, rowing machine, ect. Basically everything a CrossFit gym would have.
Price- I pay for the unlimited month to month which is about 165. It's cheaper than the next door CrossFit gym and it offers way more. Open gym times are Monday-Thursday + Saturday from 5 to 8. The timing is really convenient. Sometimes I'll do a class and then bag work during open gym.
I probably spend about 8 hours here every week, 32 a month. 165/32 = ~5 bucks an hour. Considering the personal attention you get and the equipment available, I highly recommend the unlimited package.

I've been a part of the boxing program at Shraim's Academy for almost a year. The teachers here are more of an extended family than staff. Not only have I improved as a fighter and as an athlete, but as a person. I would recommend this gym to anyone. Nothing but high praise for Shraim's Academy. I've been going to boxing classes and more recently Muay Thai for close to 8 months, and it has been one of the most enriching experiences of my life. Coach Ahmed is a caring, inspiring, and joyful man to be around. He expects you to bring your best and wants to see each and every student reach their potential. The gym environment is friendly and welcoming, without egos and pretense. People there take the martial arts seriously and proper technique is a heavy focal point. Been coming to Shraim’s Academy for about a month now and I must say that I’m truly impressed with this boxing club! They have a really great coaching staff, a great program, and they have a really great facility with great equipment!

I’ve always been a street fighter and wrestler, so this program was great for me to sharp my boxing skills, and improve on my conditioning.

The program is also great for autistic children. In fact, my 9-year old son gets 1:1 training with Coach Amy and she’s amazing! Not only is she a great coach, but she’s a great teacher with great patience, and she also has a very great way of communicating to the kids, which they follow her lead all the time.

If I could give 10 stars here I would, these guys are the best! Oh, and I can’t forget about coach Ahmed, he’s a beast! Don’t let the older face fool you, he’s with the smoke and definitely bout that life! 💪🏾

I started training here almost four years ago and I regret nothing. When I first walked into the gym for training, I had no idea what to expect. I had seen very little about boxing aside from the occasional fighting video game and Rocky 1. I quickly learned that life is not like a video game and it takes effort and time to achieve one's goals. Coach Ahmed and Coach Amy were tough, but fair. They had so much patience with me, even through all of the whining and complaining. And trust me, there was plenty of complaining… that was something I was highly skilled in. It took me a while to get over that phase. Good thing they stuck with me for so long. It took almost three years of hard work for me to open up, but once I did, it payed off ten-fold. Coach Ahmed took everything I couldn’t do, and made it a point to work on. If I was lacking in upper body strength (And let me tell you, I was), he would gradually increase my push-ups and chin-ups a little bit each session. Everything I lacked in, became an area of expertise. I went from not being able to jump rope for more than ten seconds, to doing over 50 double jumps. I couldn’t do a single push-up, and now I can crank them out like clockwork. I had trouble running a 12 minute mile, and my record is about 8 minutes now. And that’s just the physical aspect of my training. Coach understood the goal was to help me grow as a person, both inside and out. Every session, we would talk about random stuff, but not like I was some young kid with no awareness. Just by talking, he helped me work on the most important muscle of all, my brain. I learned to have more intelligent conversations and talk to people in new ways. I used to have trouble making friends, and this made it easier (I’m not antisocial I swear). Now I have a lot more self-confidence. I even learned how to dance, despite a severe lack of motor skills! Coach Ahmed also has a really good sense of music, which made everything better- especially the dancing. If I had to say one thing about my experience at Shraim’s, it would definitely be that it was hard, but worth every second I put into it!

I went to one of their women's self defense seminars over the summer prior to heading off to college. The seminar was very informative and a really great learning environment. The instructors made me very comfortable and taught me very valuable strategies to make me focus on being away of my surroundings and helping myself identify a risky situation. About a month ago I had to use what I learned from the situation to get me out of a college party that went south fast. I was able to identify that it was a bad situation right off the bat and immediately was able to confidently act on my suspicions to get myself out of that situation. I highly recommend any woman to take one of their seminars, it really helped me to be confident in my ability to handle a situation and keep myself safe.

I started boxing here with zero experience about six months ago - from day one everyone from Coach Ahmed to the other boxers have been nothing but helpful. Class size is small so there's a good amount of individual training with staff to work on your strong and weak points. I'm a big fan of the focus on fundamentals and practical, realistic skills and techniques. I could not recommend Shraim's more to anyone interested in boxing - from people brand new to boxing like me or experienced fighters, this is a great place to train.

Shraim's Academy is a great gym to get a challenging workout and learn new skills. I have been taking private boxing classes with Coach Ahmed for more than half a year and he is the best teacher I could have asked for. I was very stressed out when I first started going to boxing classes but Coach Ahmed was extremely friendly and encouraging which helped me become more relaxed. He always has a way to make my mood feel better whilst providing a great workout. The workouts in the gym are challenging and involve a variety of different exercises that make it clear that the Coach has your best interests in mind. During my workouts I jump rope, flip tires, develop boxing skills, and much more. Coach Ahmed is extremely knowledge about aspects of boxing such as stance, footwork, punching, etc. and explains things very clearly which helps me understand what he is trying to teach. He does not hesitate to point out the mistakes that I make and demonstrates the correct technique, which helps me understand what I am doing wrong and what I can do to improve. Through Coach Ahmed's efforts, I have become not only more athletic but also more relaxed. I highly recommend this gym to anyone who wants to have a great workout and meet cool people who will motivate you to try your best.

have Been coming to Shraims Academy going on 3 months now and I’m hooked can honestly say one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. I came with zero boxing experience and not very athletic to begin with but the coaches know exactly how to get you started on the right path and have seen consistent improvement in my game as well as just becoming more athletic and conditioned. I see Coach Ahmed for one on one private training because for me it’s easiest to learn that way and he is the best mentor I could ask for. He pinpoints specifically things I am doing wrong whether it’s jump rope, punches, footwork or any technic in general and explains why I’m doing it that way as opposed to the correct way and gives tips and demonstrates the correct way, which helps tremendously the way they break down everything. Not only is he a mentor but a friend as coach Amy, both are wonderful personable people who make you feel welcome and part of the Shraims Academy family. Truly look forward to going there multiple times a week and they are very flexible with booking appointments if I try and get extra time in with the coaches. I can’t say enough good things about Shraims Academy if my body and career would allow me I would be there each day bettering myself. I am in the best physical and mental shape I have been in in a very long time and I owe it all to Coach Ahmed and Coach Amy as well as the assistants at Shraims Academy for assisting me and showing me how to unleash my inner beast!

Bully proof your kids. We've been taking lessons with Coach Amy once a week for about 6 months and love every minute of it. I take lessons with my 5 year old daughter and 7 year old son. The kids love it and think we're playing games. They get to watch their dad sweat like crazy, (this is seriously a great exercise). I really felt it was important to teach my kids to defend themselves. You hear so much about bullying going on and you really don't want them to be a victim of it. My son is on the autism spectrum and it was very important for me that he be able to stop people from bullying him. We tried Karate and after sitting through an hour long class with my kids, all I really saw them do was a lot of bowing and learning to be respectful. The large group at karate really didn't work for my son. I quickly realized that Karate was not going to bully proof my kids. Make them respectful yes, bully proof them NO. I don't think any of the staff at Shraim's advocates violence, but I can tell you that both my kids can pack a good wallop that will end any bullying immediately. My kids are well on their way to being bully proof. There's a woman who trains with her 12 year old, and they've obviously been coming longer than we have. This kid looks like a normal kid, very nice, but in the ring he's truly a beast. This kid punches hard and fast with tons of power behind his punches. I always tell my kids to look at him and that's what we're here to become, a beast. If your goal is to protect your kids from bullying, like it is for me, then Shraim's Academy is the right choice. The staff is super nice and really go out of their way to talk to your kids and make them feel special. I highly recommend this is your child has special needs and you're looking for an activity for your child.

My daughter, Gabby, started boxing almost two years ago. Honestly, I was reluctant to have her participate in what I perceived as a violent sport. She started off doing private classes with Amy and when she was ready she moved group classes. The decision to let Gabby box has been very beneficial to her. She brought her grades to straight A's, was less stressed overall and very happy. I saw a confidence and enthusiasm in her that was dormant during early teen years. Ahmed is an amazing and caring Coach. He builds confidence and self empowerment in his students and they learn respect also. Gabby's twin, Nikki still takes privates with Amy who is an excellent instructor.

At the age of 18, just out of high school, I came to Shraims Academy in hopes of finding a gym that would serve as a base for my ambitions as an amateur boxer. One year later, I realize I have found much more than I had originally hoped for.
Instead of being tossed to the dogs as "new meat," Coach Ahmed took me under his wing and taught me nearly everything I know about the sport today. Everything else that I learned, I learned from his own protégées.
During the vulnerable times in my early development, Coach Ahmed trained me with a level of commitment and enthusiasm that I will forever be grateful for, one which continues to this day.
At this point in my training, I cannot speak to the heights to which I have been able to reach; at this point all I can firmly say is that it is because of the relationships that I have developed at the gym, with the coach's as well as other fighters, that I can begin to chase my goals.
No matter what the future holds, I know that because of the base I have developed here at Shraims Academy, I will always be able to call this gym home.

Coach Ahmed and Coach Amy are very informative, down-to-earth, and surprisingly humorous.
You can come to the gym to spar, get in shape, hit the bags, learn some new fighting techniques all in one class. The people who come here are all pretty relatable and make it easy for newbies to feel comfortable in coming back.
If I ever move out of the area, it will be very difficult to replace the strong foothold that Shraim's Academy has in my weekly routine.

I have been training with Coach for about five months now and I couldn't haven't felt better. I am the strongest I have ever been and I am currently training to get in better shape for my wedding.
Coach pushes me to my limit and I am so happy with how strong I feel. I would highly recommend Shraim's Academy to anybody trying to get into shape and to build their strength!

I joined Shraim's Academy 8 months ago. When I first started, I couldn't throw a punch and I was pretty out of shape. All of that changed after I joined. The family-like atmosphere made me feel at ease, even at my first class.

The knowledge and teaching ability of Coach Ahmed and Coach Amy is unparalleled. Their leadership truly motivated me to push myself harder at each possible opportunity. I became dedicated to the sport and trained at home and the Gym. Results came quick. Before I knew it, I was 25 pounds lighter.

Now, 8 months later, I'm joining my University's boxing team thanks to Shraim's Academy. Join and I promise you won't be dissapointed!

I truly believe that Shraim's is the place where anyone can exceed expectations..........you just have to commit to the time and hard work, and you will be rewarded with a sense of belonging, pride, and accomplishment. Keep going, keep training, and give yourself 3 - 4 months, and you will feel like such a part of the Black & Red Beasthood, that you will never want to miss a session.

I have attended Shraim's Academy's Boxing classes for about a year now, and I can say every aspect of my life has improved. Not only do you become physically adept, you also improve mentally, and you are left with invaluable life skills. I have learned that there is always room for improvement, and I can also say that I have created many friends during this time.

I have been going to Shraim's Academy for over a year. I joined the beast factory in preparation for the army and with the awesome training, incredible environment, and the unparalleled skills of the trainers, I was able to do just that. I have never been in better physical shape, and I got in shape while having fun! Turn on beast mode and come see what Coach Shraim, Coach Amy, and Coach Adam can do for you!

My son has been coming to Shraims Academy for 4 months now, and he absolutely loves going. Initially, he was very reluctant to participate, partially due to fear, but after the very first class, he quickly changed his mind, and now looks forward to going to class twice a week. Coach Amy, and Coach Adam are extremely patient, and very effective with their methods. Safety is always number one in their eyes. My sons confidence has always been pretty high, but with this, he seems even more confident than before. The amount of exercise these children get in this class is perfect for their age group. Also, the skills they get with boxing translates to them in everyday life as well. I strongly recommend First Steps Boxing classes. Coach Ahmed, Coach Amy, and Coach Adam are all great at what they do.

I joined Shraim's Academy last June with very little experience in martial arts/boxing. I had been doing basic strength/cardio workouts, but ultimately my goal was to find something more engaging and to learn the fundamentals of boxing/martial arts. Coaches Ahmed, Amy, and Adam were very welcoming and there is a great culture in this gym. It's a family atmosphere. Shraim's Academy is very dynamic and can meet the needs of many different experience and martial arts interest levels. I was able to run a 15K in October for the first time and there is no doubt that my training at Shraim's gave me the stamina and confidence to complete this race. I've really enjoyed watching my boxing skills improve while increasing my strength and endurance.

I have been attending Shraims Boxing Academy for almost a year and it has been one of the best decisions I have made in my life. I have and always will be a fighter, figuratively speaking, but I always had the curiosity to actually learn how to box. I am a mom of two wonderful children and wife of an amazing man, soccer coach for my daughter, top performer scientist in a high stress demanding pharmaceutical company, sexual assault survivor, and borderline diabetic. I became obsessed with working out at home 5 times a week in order to stay healthy, physically and mentally. However, something was still missing I needed a hobby more intense that would help me release stress, anger, rejuvenate my self-esteem, and satisfy my soul. Today I am so lucky and blessed to have step foot into Shraim’s Boxing and MMA Academy. Coach Ahmed and coach Amy are two of the most amazing, kind, intelligent, beautiful people I have every met. I am forever grateful for all their coaching, friendship, guidance they have given me since day one. I started with boxing and moved on to Muay Thai after six months. I look forward to coming to class weekly and get an adrenaline rush on my way to the academy; this is how passionate I have become of this place. I am able to diverge all my stress, frustration, and anxiety, and turn it into an amazing MMA session at the academy that brings me wholly fulfillment. I have become more confident, strong, happier, Needless to say my body has never being so fit in my life! If you are looking for a place to learn how to box, get fit, release stress, kick-ass, build self-esteem, and find new friends I say look no more. This is a call for all moms and women out there…you need Shraim’s Boxing and MMA Academy in your life!

It is getting close to the date moving to overseas for at least a few years. All of a sudden, I realize that I will greatly miss coach Ahmed, coach Amy, and all the friends that I have met during past 8 years. As an active runner and soccer player since high school, you can imagine that all these activities have put many miles on my knees and ankles, resulted lots of pain and even swelling after each exercise, especially when I got into 40s.
Under the persuasion of my wife and daughter from the same gym, I started the boxing training 8 years ago at Shraim Academy. The training intensity at Shraim is no less or even more intensive than what I used to do, but guess what: my knees and ankles did NOT hurt after each class with average 3 classes a week! The reasons, at least to my understanding, are that we do all exercises on high quality foam pads in this gym, with full warmup and stretch, plus balanced strength training on both lower and upper body. There are many benefits happened to me: weight loss, balanced body shape, stronger and more flexible muscles, and many others… More importantly, people in this gym are so friendly that you feel a sense of belonging to a community, regardless of age, gender, race and level of your fitness. Definitely I would continue this wonderful sport no matter where I go.

At the beginning of October 2015 I discovered Shraim's Academy. Prior to my initial visit I had no training or knowledge of boxing, only a desire to learn. I asked if it common for adults to come in and start boxing and I was confidently reassured it was. Any anxiety or sense of nervousness I felt was alleviated as soon as I came in for my first day. Since then joining Shraim's Academy has been one of the greatest decisions I have made both for my physical and mental health. Not only are the coaches extremely helpful and personable but so are the peers. I cannot thank Coach Ahmed and Amy enough for everything they have done and continue to do. Everyday is more exciting than the last and the workouts are never dull. If you have any doubts about joining come in for a visit and I can assure you all second thoughts you had will quickly diminish.

I have nothing but praise for Mr. Shraim. My son is in the State Trooper Academy, and had never had any experience with boxing, martial arts, takedowns, or anything like that. After not doing well at these kinds of things at the Academy, I asked for help on an emergency basis, and my son turned it all around with just a couple of lessons so far. I am a college Professor, and a good judge of teaching skills. Mr. Shraim possesses not just fighting and self defense skills, but I can tell you he has a true gift as a teacher as well. He evaluates the students and talks to them throughout the process, building their confidence as he goes. I believe that I was extremely fortunate to have found him, and also recommend his co-trainer Ms. Furnauld to anyone in need of an excellent experience in unleashing and building potential- in mind and body.

I started boxing at Shraims about three months ago with absolutely zero experience. Looking back now I can say that I am thoroughly enjoying it, learning a lot about the sport, and becoming a healthier, more in-shape individual. I can only speak highly of the couch, staff and classes!

If you are looking to get in great shape while actually learning how to fight, whether it is boxing, Maui Thai, or Jiu Jitsu, Shraims Academy is the place to go. I have been with the gym for about 4 years, and I have never thought about training anywhere else. This is due to the great people that train there, the amazing staff like coach Amed and Amy, as well as the high quality of training I have received there.

Since I started boxing with Coach Ahmed in 2011, I have gained nothing but the upmost respect and compassion for the sport of boxing, and those who dedicate themselves to teach others about the sport. Coach Ahmed taught me that boxing is an art, with each move articulated with as much precision as a paintbrush on a canvas. With his detailed comments and teachings, I've learned the combos and techniques to make my punches stronger and faster, without leaving me any less fatigued. Through Coach Ahmed, I've also gained intelligent insight on world events and helpful guidance with my future during the often hilarious and mature conversations in our session. I greatly admire his motivation to help others understand and learn the art form that makes up the sport of boxing, and I look up to him as an inspiration. Thank you, Coach, for introducing me to the sport that I will take with me forever.

I started coming to the gym at 11 years old. I was having a hard time finding fun ways to work out and had difficulty keeping up with my sports, so my parents sent me to Coach Ahmed to try out boxing. As a kid, I never enjoyed a sport/getting the best workout of my life more. Coach Ahmed and the class of young kids were extremely friendly and approachable and always more than willing to help, while always pushing me to my limits. I had found new love for a sport and began to get in shape. Sadly, i broke my wrist snowboarding about a year or two after starting and had to hold off on boxing for a few months but never came around to coming back. 5 years later at 18 years old, I've been back for 5 months now and i couldn't be happier! I train with both the adults and young adults and have found that both classes are equally as friendly and equally as motivating as the kids class 5 years ago. Coach Ahmed and Coach Amy are the best boxing coaches out there with great emphasis on technique and fitness. If you are looking for a new sport or just a great workout, come on down to Shraim's Boxing and try out the gym (or send your son or daughter). The best part about trying it out is that the first class is free!

Our son has been training with Coach Ahmed at Shraims for over a year now. He was having a difficult time finding an athletic activity that he enjoyed and we decided to try boxing as opposed to the usual choices. Over the last year we have watched our son blossom. The Coach’s dedication to tuning both his mind and body have yielded wonderful results. He is happier, healthier, but the best part is how boxing has helped his self-esteem and confidence.

I strongly recommend boxing with Coach Ahmed as an alternative to the traditional sports, as I believe that it will have very positive lasting effects on your child.

The coaches are incredible, you will be pushed to your limits and leave each class feeling accomplished and the results will show. I mean there's no place like Shraims gym around here! I have been attending classes at Shraim's Academy for 2 years now. Each week, I feel like it's easy to make improvements in your strength, fitness, coordination and technique. It is a very inviting environment where I feel like I receive equal attention and assistance even as a female in a primarily male dominated sport like boxing. The conditioning and strength training that you get at Shraim's is second to none. You can't help but feel stronger and more confident when you walk out of the gym every day. Coach Shraim is very passionate about teaching everyone his sport and it shows in his training routines every day. You will be hooked after the first class!! :)

Before entering Shraim's Academy I was quite intimidated and nervous, but when I walked inside I felt a great welcoming vibe from Coach Ahmed, Amy, and all of the other fighters unlike some of the other clubs out there. The first day that I trained, I learned so much about boxing and the minute I left, I knew that I was addicted. Coach Ahmed is a great, wise trainer and a legend of a man. Every time I walk out of Shraim's Academy, I can be confident in saying that I learned something I didn't know before, whether it is an improvement on my boxing or one of Coach's life lessons. Not only do I learn from Coach, but my fellow boxers never hesitate to give tips and pointers. Anyone can train at Shraim's, girl or boy, big or small, young or old. After training here, you will be mentally and physically stronger as well as prepared for the obstacles of life. The Underground Fight Club changes you as an individual and motivates you to be constructive member of society and provides a comfortable learning environment with great instruction. Coach Ahmed treats everyone as if they were his own family. The Beast Factory teaches you discipline, determination, and respect. Despite the fact that teens my age tend to be pretty lazy and that Shraim’s is about 45 minutes away from my house, I am still always eager to leave the house to train and never say to myself “I’d rather just chillax today”. Three months ago, I was searching for a boxing gym, but what I found was a family, a passion, and an addiction… What I found was Shraim’s Academy.

The feeling you get when entering Shraims Academy is like no other. Being taken under Coach's wing for the last two years is honestly the best experience I have ever encountered. By knowing that I am apart of an establishment that has taught me not only how to defend myself, but has given me life lessons and a second family. A place where I can simply be myself and know that I am wanted here. Shraims Academy is not only my boxing gym, but my second home that has given me the confidence and strength to attack any obstacle that comes my way. So if you're looking for the whole package, here's the place to be. Welcome to the family.

Coming to this gym was definitely one of the best things that's ever happened to me, and my whole family for that matter. Obviously, I became much more physically fit after training here. However, I never expected to grow so much mentally and socially. Coach Ahmed and Coach Amy don't just teach you how to fight; they teach you how to be a competent and high performing member of society. Not to mention, I've met great people here that I would have never had a chance to run into if it wasn't for this gym. Young or old, male or female, athletic or nonathletic, this gym is the perfect place
