Love this solidcore. Staff is so friendly and helpful. Instructors are great. Recently started taking up solidcore and the results are EXCELLENT. I’m stronger and have more energy. Difficulty level is high so take it slow. Instructors are helpful if they know you’re new. Never had an issue getting into class since I’m usually slightly early (unlike everyone in this comment session… it’s a small class size and requires a lot of instruction, so late arrivals just disrupt everyone’s workout). Make sure to take the intro classes if you’re new - recommended number is 3-5 but I’ve taken closer to 7. Super helpful to increase strength and avoid getting injured!

Firstly they don’t play about the 5 minute rule. Seems illegal to pay for a class that I couldn’t attend. No good or service was provided. If I head out to arrive 20 minutes early but traffic makes me 6 minutes late, it is out of my control. It’s not like I can wait in there before class starts. The code provided for the door doesn’t work.

Secondly, I can’t say I’m mad at the workouts which is why I gave 2 stars, but to me this isn’t a professional reformer Pilates studio. If you’ve taken the classes and been to other studios for years you’d know what I mean. I prefer SLT. Similar cost but you can show up whenever you want for a class you PAY for. They also focus on balancing and muscle targeting that looks right on the body. All of their girls are symmetrical and shredded. This place, not so much.

If you like a bootcamp style Pilates this is your spot. If you are just a girl who wants a hot symmetrical body and feel good every time you workout, go to another place like SLT.

I miss when fitness centers focused more on body positioning and actual fitness rather than scraping $40 from anyone they can and lose retention by customers.

Anyway, I’m not coming back and have booked for another 6 months of SLT.

The dark haired male at the front desk is incredibly rude and throws off the energy of the studio when you enter.

I enjoyed the challenge for a few months, but I can't recommend this place.

- it is very hard to work both sides of your body symmetrically, due to the configuration of the springs, the nature of the workouts, and the fact that so much balance is involved. Doing this regularly gave me a shoulder injury that still occasionally acts up a year later.

- they charge an arm and a leg and pay their instructors crap. Which is unfortunate, because the quality of the instructor makes or breaks the class. Some of the instructors were really great! But the good ones seemed to get promoted and spend less time teaching class (or perhaps more time at other studios).

- what really soured me on this was one day I suffered a horrific injury while changing springs. Skin removed, bleeding profusely. Ran out to the front desk and was treated like an annoyance for asking for a bandaid. Was not asked by anyone if I was OK, nor were there any extra cleaning procedures that I was aware of.

---

They would call this place House of Pain if the name wasn't already taken! A good Pilates inspired strength workout you will definitely feel afterward with good instructors. A good balance of instructor feedback and not being put on the spot. Nice that they know everyone's names. The downsides are that classes fill up early sometimes and the room can be a bit warm.

Classes are challenging, fun, and very effective. I have become stronger and fitter. The coaches are amazing and create a nice environment to learn and a community to feel part. The machines are in good state and new, and the classes sizes are not too large. Love it here.

I honestly do not understand why this place has such a cult following. It was horrible, loud, annoying, not a good workout, basically all the bad feelings. Why would anyone go here when Mega JC is like 10 steps away.

Love taking classes here with Anna, however i went on a Thursday to try a different class and due to bad weather arrived exactly 5 minutes late. The blonde lady at the desk, instead of letting me run into class stopped me and began to ask me do i know what time it is? Which at that time it was still :35. As soon as i go to look at my phone it changes from :35 to :36. Right in front of her face. So i tell her it was :35 but it literally just changed to :36 while you're sitting here stopping me. And then she proceeds to tell me im 6 minutes late and the late policy is 5 minutes. I come from very far and with the additional bad weather, i was hoping for a bit of understanding, especially with the time changing right in her face as she stopped to asked me questions. Had i been 10 minutes late or something i would completely understand but this seems a bit ridiculous and put a bad taste in my mouth about the establishment. Not sure I will be returning anymore due to my experience with her, although I do love Anna Trans class. She did give a credit towards a new class but that doesn't really make up for the waste of time. Idc about the credit I would've rather her just not ask me silly questions about the time and let the minute go over, just to then tell me im now 6 min late, when if she never stopped me I would've still been within the 5 minutes.

If it were possible, I would give this entire corporation 0 stars. I went over 2 months ago and the following day woke up with searing neck pain. My neck and back continued to hurt for the next 2months. Xrays, doctor visits, an MRI later, I learned I have a stress fracture in my back. I am now out $3000 and have to spend the summer recovering from this injury. These classes are unsafe, way too fast and there is so much room for hurting yourself. I am someone that is used to working out 3-5x a week for the last decade and I've never been to more of an unsafe class. I have never had an injury but I go to Solidcore once and now I have a serious injury I need to recover from. They should be disbanded.

My wife brought me. It was hard. It was very hard. We were there 1 minute before class started.. I had just smoked a J, running down the street to try to be on time. We got there! Yay! It was hard. I normally do Jiu Jitsu which isn’t as hard as this… this class was hard, but I feel my core is more solid, my buttocks will surely give me a problem in the morning, and I think I lost weight (sweat a lot!).. the instructor was attentive but of course kept the class at a pace that is not for the weak nor pathetic - if you have a victim mindset I would not recommend this class… if you are s&m you might like this. I will come back. I am not afraid of this. I think a few more classes will do me some good.

This location spams your number, and refuses to take you off their contact list after confirming they would via phone and email. I have never signed up for this location’s mailing list, and live in a different state entirely.

I'm very disappointed with the solid core. I went today to “try” to take my first class. There are very few timetable options but I picked a timetable anyway. I got up earlier than usual
and called an Uber to go to class (that way I wouldn't be late). I caught a traffic jam and arrived 5 MINUTES late. Guess what? They didn't let me in. They told me that because it was my first class they recommend arriving 10 minutes early to talk to the coach. How am I supposed to know this if they didn't send me any information? The class may be good, but I won't go back after this service. I feel like I wasted my time and money. Ps: they still wanted to charge me a late fee.

Do not buy a subscription. Solid core is run by predatory, greedy, and cowardly corporate shills. They do not support online or IN PERSON cancellations. You have to mail written notice with the original purchase receipt and they don’t even provide the full mailing address on their website. Disgusting.

First time coming, called the front desk twice to say I was running late (which was 5 minutes late btw) and no response. Instructor said I had to email her manager about it, but the manager “isnt here”. I called way in advance and the phone would ring and then hang up. And plus there was only 2 people in the class.. It’s a no for me beloved. Poor customer service, did not feel valued as a customer.

I went to visit the location in Jersey City. First there no one at the front desk. Than finally one for the instructors showed up and the studio was very dirty and has dust all over. Not clean at all. I wouldn’t not try this studio.

Took a class with coach Morgan and this is a kiiiiiller workout, especially for the core. Class format started with core, then legs, ending with arms. I was surprised to be sweating so much. Morgan was welcoming, and explained how to use the machine to the first timers. Not intimidating to use the reformer.

Impossible communication. If I can give 0 stars I would.

I signed up for a 2-week trial and I was told various versions of its cancellation policy. Version A : during the trial we are lenient and we can discuss (of course this was during the initial sign-up and I took the word for it.)

My credit card was auto charged 40 dollars for each time they claimed I had late cancellation, two of which I’m sure were cancelled more than 10 hours prior to the class.

Then I went back and asked questions. (I called the studio at least 15 times but no one ever picked it up.) And below is what I got:

Version B: we can refund you 1 time for each month, regardless of whether you are on the 2-week trial or not;

Version C: the refund of the cancellation will be via the points accumulated to redeem for 1 class. (BTW, they cannot explain how points are accumulated and why there are no points showing in my account after taking so many classes.)

Version D: all our cancellation policies are listed on our website.

I then send emails which is the only way someone will communicate with you and asked for a phone call. Nothing progressed in a week.

I then sent multiple emails to follow up, and finally received a call from Morgan the head coach saying that our cancellation is on our website.

I asked for the name of the person who sign me for the class to begin with so we can compare notes on what I was told. Morgan let me know that they can’t see who sold me the class packs.

Good luck with how you do business.

45 dollars / class which offers 1 type of workout with 0 cardio in this competitive industry with horrible communication & customer services. Let’s see.

I took my first ever solid core class with Jacob and was super impressed. Loved his energy, loved the class. Normally don’t like group classes but this was a great (very tough) workout. My abs hurt for a long time.

Studio is AWESOME! They're great with first timers, awesome music that isn't cranked up too loudly. Instructors are fine and keep you highly motivated. Recommend for anyone who isn't a big fan of HIIT but wants to get a workout in that makes them sweat.
