If you want to refine your practice, this is the place to go! They have many Iyengar (alignment-focused) classes, which are a great way to improve the way you do the poses (which will help you avoid injury in the long run.) Highly recommend!

I have attendED classes at Studio Yoga for over 3 years. Recently I tried the back class as I have scoliosis and sometimes have lower back pain. The nuturing and peace I feel in the class with kind, supportive, adaptive poses to fit my needs is extraordinary. And, I am pain free!

I drive four and a half hours, from Upstate New York, to study with Theresa and her fabulous teachers. I have been doing this since 1999, when I first met Theresa when she came to our town for a weekend workshop. I was so smitten with her and the Iyengar work that I followed her back to NJ the next weekend. Still my yogic abode, eighteen years and two Certifications later!

I have had the pleasure of taking classes at Studio Yoga for a year or so, now. I wanted to wait to give a review until I'd tried many classes with many teachers. In my opinion, a yoga studio is only as strong as it's teachers. Studio Yoga has done a fantastic job putting together a collection of amazing teachers.
In addition to yoga, the studio also offers a variety of other classes. The online scheduling system is super easy to use. All of the instructors are extremely approachable and helpful. As someone who was brand new to yoga, they made me feel very comfortable in the studio, as well as in the classes.
I have been fortunate enough to have taken classes with:
-Valerie, who is one of the teachers who teaches us newbies all the very basics of yoga. This class helped me get comfortable with yoga
-Jane, who teaches a wide variety of classes, spann difficulties. She has helped me for free when a class was cancelled and I showed up without checking the website.
-Sandy - I've been taking classes with Sandy regularly for the last 3 or 4 months, as her class works perfectly with our (my fiancee and my) schedule. I am almost hesitant to name the class, because I don't want it to sell out! (It's her Tier 1 class)
-Joni - I was fortunate enough to have Joni as a substitute once, and once was enough to know that she is an expert at her craft. The only reason I don't take Joni's classes is because they don't work with my schedule. But I wanted to be sure to mention her because she was outstanding.

I have been taking classes at Studio Yoga for years. The teachers are great and Iyengar yoga emphasizes alignment, which helps prevent injury. They are very accommodating and can adjust poses if you have any injuries or other issues. It's great for overall health (flexibility, strength, internal organs, breathing). The teachers do have different styles so if one doesn't work for you, try another. I saw one reviewer who complained about child care. It's really not set up for that so it's probably best to make other child care arrangements. I did weekend classes so my spouse could watch the kids. I think you will leave the classes feeling great.

Love this Studio and the teachers. Have been coming here for many years. The Iyengar style yoga is taught with lots of instructions so you really understand the poses and you gain excellent body awareness along the way.

Absolutely LOVE teaching here! The atmosphere is so nurturing; many of my students have been coming since I started teaching in 2002! From Gentle Yoga to Level 3 classes the commitment of students is so inspiring. The dedication and involvement of the teachers in continuing their studies has made for a very valuable community in my life. Don't miss out on this wonderful gem!
