Today the manager called me and ask me to give my credit card information on phone which I was not comfortable with. So she cancelled my swimming class. I am paying membership only for the swimming class. I have paid my membership in advance. I told her I will make a payment before the next class. But she was not ready to listen and cancel my class

We were pretty excited about bringing our son here for the Swimfants class. We tried it and unfortunately we will not be returning. The pool water is grotesque, the lighting in the room is very low and the high school kids they hire to conduct the class leave a great deal to be desired. They don’t seem properly trained or managed. We opted for Aqua-Tots in Clark and wow what an upgrade from this location. I highly recommend someone in leadership audit the Swimfants class and find ways to better serve your patrons. Now I know why people signed up and never returned. Have some pride in dignity in what you do here. Serve with excellence.

I joined this club a year ago after a friend recommended it while I was searching for a badminton court nearby. I was hesitant at first — they didn’t have proper courts, just repurposed racquetball spaces — but I gave it a shot.

Fast forward to recently: I injured my back and called the front desk to pause my membership for a month. They transferred me to someone named Patty from finance. I explained my condition, but she insisted it couldn’t be done over the phone or online — only in person — claiming it was “in the contract.”

I told her I could barely walk, but she showed zero empathy. Her response? “If you can go to physiotherapy, you can walk into the club.” Seriously?

At that point, I asked to cancel my membership. She didn’t hesitate — just said I still needed to come in to sign the paperwork. I had to get my wife to drive me there just to end my membership.

After a full year of loyalty, I was shocked at how quick they were to let a member go over a policy that, turns out, doesn’t even exist. For a customer-focused business, the lack of compassion was truly disappointing.

If these screenshots don’t tell you everything you need to know about the establishment, I don’t know what will. I personally wrote the 3rd image, where I responded to someone’s post (1st and 2nd screenshot) on a local facebook group. It’s unfortunate what measures Patricia will go to make a buck (or a whopping 700+ in this locals case AND mine, each) When all we were ever looking for was a seamless experience. Shame on her for putting a pregnant woman through such stress and financial hardships KNOWING THE CIRCUMSTANCE. Why would it be my fault that your employee by the initials of DK agreed to make a one time exception for me to terminate my yearly contract, and a few weeks later according to Patricia, DK “mis-spoke” so she had the right to charge me monthly immediately for the remainder of my monthlies LOL. Ok so go take it up with DK that she ‘misspoke’. Patricia never acknowledged my various emails and voicemails left. Clearly this person does not put herself in the shoes of her clients and if this is how far she’s gone with just us two victims I can’t imagine what she’s capable of as an unprofessional “Senior Account Clerk”

I've been a member of the Club for about 10 years. It never gets crowded to the point where you can't get on a machine, the equipment is constantly updated, and the facility is clean. I especially love the variety of classes and great instructors. One of my very favorite classes is Les Mills Combat taught by Trish. The motivation & energy that she brings is unreal! I leave that class exhilarated and feeling great! I recommend this fitness facility & everything they have to offer! And don't forget to take the Combat class with Trish!!

SCAM WARNING for whom wants to join , at the beginning they told me that you can cancel any time ...which that didn't happen i had a health conditions going on can't go no more so i freeze it for 3 months till i get better i didn't so i want to cancel it ...they said i have to activate the membership first and pay for a whole month ....then request for cancelation and pay for another month..and am not using it....so if any one needs to cancel say in may ...he will pay june too...this beside the treat when i ask for cancelation not nice at all from finacial department.....by the way one day late for paying with late fee ..not the nicest place to go

Three Reasons Why This Gym Is Unsafe/Absolutely Not Worth The Money It Asks For Membership—

1. The myriad complaints of the basketball court are warranted, but I will bolster these by adding a frequent and disturbing occurrence—there was a SHIRTLESS man “coaching” two girls (he was shirtless for no reason, he never actually touched the ball or played), hurling insults at them for the duration of my 45 minute training period on the turf. I could pair this some other wildly offensive things being yelled nearly 100% of the time I was there that go completely unregulated by the staff that is responsible for doing so, which brings me to number 2–

2. The staff who is responsible for cleaning and maintaining—I guess—safety in the gym, particularly at night, always has personal headphones in. Anytime I attempted to speak to him, or even say hello, or a very “funny” situation in which a couple of younger kids were doing an exercise wildly wrong using the landmine in an overtly dangerous way to themselves and others—the employee with the headphones on just walked by them.

3. In an effort to respect the gym, I always wiped down the 4 machines/areas that I used in my time here. Save for maybe 3 people, I was the only one doing this, reracking weight correctly. I put this as number 3 because I expected this, although a gym charging this much should absolutely do better to regulate this. This is something that can definitely be improved even if your employees have headphones on while they are working. Free for all environment, particularly by the basketball court.

The nearly $100 price tag does not warrant what I saw in my short time training here.
As a person that trains nearly exclusively at a nearby American Legion due to my work and schedule, I decided to give a public gym a shot. This was a terrible experience—
as I’ve had the same experiences training at The Club at Woodbridge as I did doing calisthenics for free at Branch Brook Park in the north ward of Newark. I would not feel safe letting children train here.

It's a large gym with plenty of space to exercise, a place where you can also socialize. The people are very friendly. Especially in the mornings when I go, there's a group of adults who already know each other, laugh, and joke. For me, aside from exercising, I like going to the gym because I've met many people with whom I enjoy talking.

This gym doesn’t provide a basketball court for kids under 13 and the the gym they have you can only use one time a week because their priorities are their clases. You can’t use the main court unless your child is not 13 and up even supervised by a parent, but they let someone use the main gym to train kids under the age they require so basically is all about business. I been coming to this Gym for a while and the lady at the front desk has given me a hard time every single time I come with my son. I see so many other kids under age lifting weights and nothing is said. I feel this gym is a waste of money for what is provided and the costumer service at the front desk by their main lady that most of the guys that play basketball have complained of.

I just started attending and let me tell you perfect! As a woman who loves working out the women's workout area/room is a genuine dream come true and when i saw it i wanted to cry out of happiness! No joke! It has every machine you would ever need (seriously) and you will not feel like a sardine lol! I love it here and it has made working out so wonderful and doable! There are so many activities like yoga and pilates that you can do and a really good amount of stairmaster!!! Which I love since there is always one avaliable! Couldn't recoment more!!!

This place isn’t what it used to be—mainly because it’s so overcrowded, I’m starting to wonder if they’re handing out memberships as door prizes somewhere. The charm and exclusivity are long gone, replaced by what feels like a rush-hour subway experience. Honestly, I think the pricing structure is to blame. Bring the pricing back to $85 per member! Or better yet, charge $130 and include a free ‘crowd repellant’ service. I’d happily pay more if it meant I didn’t have to elbow my way through the masses just to enjoy what used to be a relaxing atmosphere. It’s just not the same anymore, and it’s a shame. This used to be the place to unwind, but now it feels like a chaotic social experiment. Bring back the old experience—it’s what we’re all paying for anyway, right? Right now, it’s less of a premium experience and more of a sardine-can situation.

It is very unfortunate what is happening in this club. Very bad attitude of the customer service staff. There are no human relations. The people who are at the door discriminate against Hispanics, it is as if they had a problem of Racism against us. On the basketball court with this cold weather they turn on the air conditioning and that can cause a serious injury. Please we need you to respect our rights as members of more than 7 years with you. We do not want that for our children who are also part of the club. I did a 5 start review to this place 4 years ago and I have to switch to 1 start and this start its only because its a really nice clean a new facility, but Im being a member for over 9 years and I can tell you that Woodbridge club its not even half of what used to be.

1- front desk staff are really mean they never know anything when you ask them and guve you a bad actitud like if they are not good with their job.

2- before they sell the club maybe 3 years ago any question any complaints you have as a member used to be resolved, now under the the new management they never know anything you go to one person and send you to the other one.

3- I only use the club to go play basketball, the basketball court has a ac system but the staff says “THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO CONTROL IT” and we have to play under the 70 degree what its no good.

4- About payment its only what they says know and you can not even explain to them my card got expired after being the same card in the system for over 6 years so since they was remodeling the basketball and took over 13 months so since I only used tongo for the basketball I keep paying monthly without using the facilities my card hot expired and they charge me a lot of fees instead on just call me and let me know my card was expired.

5- they don't treat the latinos in the same way they treat Americans people, I hope before this place switch to be a racist place and got the worse reputation they make a meeting and do a training with the new staff because the ild staff used to be great 😌

Hope my review will be useful to change whats happening in the club because trust me its a really nice clean and organized facility.

I love The Club at Woodbridge! 🌟 It's the best place ever! My parents signed me up for the Kidsports class and the child swim program, and I have so much fun every time I go. The teachers are super nice and make every class exciting.

I also joined the Lego class, and it was awesome! I made new friends and built really cool stuff. 🏊‍♀️🧱

I recently attended a birthday party at Kidsports and had a fantastic experience! The staff was great, making sure everything ran smoothly and that the kids had a wonderful time. My daughter started going to Kidssports when she turned 3, she absolutely loved & loves it. The teachers, staff, counselors are all wonderful and treat the kids like their own. The Club of Woodbridge is a life saver. I cannot go as often as I would like to but I still get to go at least twice a week. The Club offers an assortment of sport classes for children. Including in the membership you have sauna, steam room and child care. None of which I had ever used but I'm planning to. The Club is having renovations and seems like a cafeteria or cafe is on the works. I can't wait until it's ready. Pool, hockey, golf den. So many amenities and I have no time!

If you have the opportunity to invest your TIME & money somewhere else, please do so.

1. Their customer service is absent to say the least. The encounter with each member is very confrontational and makes you feel so uncomfortable.

2. Communication is poor and their staff following policy is inconsistent. I can give my example of what I’ve witnessed, but the person managing their Google My Business account will respond by saying “thank you for your feedback as we strive to do better!”. When we, paying customers, don’t look for an automatic generic response, we look for some level of customer service. But nope, they take your input and read you their “policy” which is pointless when they’re not consistent.

3. I joined 1 year ago, and they’re still under construction. But they finally opened a restaurant, good for them? Literally a waste of my time and investment in my fitness journey.

Attached are images of the same machines I’ve seen for two months , and it’s an eye soar to look at while working out. I can go on and on about this facility, but thankfully I’ve cancelled my membership and learned my lesson to make sure I do greater research when selecting a gym.

Although this may be a very negative review, I know for others, who are searching for a new home gym, this review will be productive in their research to help save their time and money.

Worst experience ever for kids classes, I would suggest not take membership if you are taking it for kids classes. They can cancel the classes whenever they want and won't even inform you, you will come to know once you reach there. If you ask them, they will reply very rude. Specially for swimming classes you will never get the classes. I would suggest the management not to grow the membership count if you can't fullfil the services. They won't even deserve 1 star, specially for their rude behavior, please change your staff or teach them, how to behave with Members. Club at Woodbridge Finance Coordinator Patricia Wall mishandled my account and charge me extra $253.00 on top of what I have been paying every month for my membership. So be careful since it happened to my membership and I end up cancelling my membership due to their accounting scam scheme.

We love the facilities. The free weights are great. I love the basketball courts, and the weight machines too. I've taken one class it was challenging in the best way. We love the childcare. They are deducting extra charges from your debit card even you are one family. Everyone will charge separately from one card if u pay or forget to pay fee. Please be careful. A club house with a very big gym, small swimming pool, indoor ice hockey , badminton court, racquet ball court, soccer turf, kids play area, foss ball court table, ping pong table, volley ball court, basket ball full court and half court, Zumba classes, trainers for gym. Membership includes two classes for kids for free and they can choose between array of classes. Especially swimming classes are included in the membership.
They don’t have cafeteria currently and they are working opening one soon. Friendly staff and they are always ready provide you a tour of the facility

Bad management!!! They have scheduled a makeup class for swimming but there was no teacher and the lifeguard was unaware if there’s any makeup class I drove 30 mins they have no courtesy of calling and letting parents know . Also my card didn’t go through for some reason for monthly payment they cut $45 out of no where and didn’t even bother telling me if they charge extra for payment if it won’t go through!!! It’s ridiculous. But if they don’t have coach there is no refund for that class. So many times swimming class starts 10 mins late even soccer coaches weren’t even there on time. I hope they work on that first.

Did a walk-in for a tour today of the gym and Diane at the front desk was such a sweetheart and gave me such welcoming vibes!! Not only that, but she gave me very thorough information and details about the club and then I was introduced to sales representative Marge who was absolutely nice, informative, and friendly. We had a great conversation and I love the whole lay out of the gym. Even though there are some
construction in some parts of the gym, I already know it will be worth it when finished.

Not to mention there is a section of the gym for only females to workout which is awesome and I love how the locker rooms and showers are very clean! And it has its own jacuzzi ! I was informed that a new restaurant will be opening up this fall within the gym itself, exciting ! Honestly for the club's cost of membership per month it is so worth it to me, especially the numerous classes offered for free. And I really appreciate the towel service 🫶🏻

To sum it up, I got great vibes from my tour and the wonderful staff. I am ready to sign up soon as I finish my one week pass. Thank you so much for the pass Marge! I actually worked out today for a quick 30 minutes but I believe I found the right gym for me in the long run. 👍🏻

I joined this club in September 2022 after falling for the marketing they did. My primary focus was to play badminton and they said they have lot of courts. The day I joined they showed few squash courts turned into badminton courts but said there are other proper courts which will be back on functional mode soon. I took membership same day and played badminton in squash court but realized it was very confined space to play badminton since the outer box lines where walls and it was scary when we play. After playing that day I asked them when will the actual courts be open and they said actually they are not going to have them and will only have these squash courts. I felt cheated. I came back home and checked their Membership contract document and it mentioned that I could cancel my membership before end of 3rd day and they will refund full amount. Next day itself I went and asked for cancellation and they said they will deduct the amount of first day usage of court and will refund rest of the amount (which is fair enough). BUT till now they haven't refunded my money and when I call them they say it will come as check from some other place. Not sure they will ever send it. Really feel bad for my decision to join this Club and I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking to play badminton.

Reply to Owner's comment: Abraham (04/17/2023) - yes, you didn't offer squash court as permanent court, instead the person mentioned people can use that until actual badminton court renovation is complete. After I took membership and played one day they said the actual courts won't be available. It does indirectly mean you have to continue using squash court.

I absolutely love this gym. It is a little expensive so that is the only thing I don't like about this place but I gu ellu it's totally worth the money to me. They have everything you need. I love the fact that they have a 'woman's room' to work out in. Besides all the awesome work out equipment they have, they also have a lot of extra stuff. They have a sauna, hot tub, pool, showers, locker rooms, tanning beds, free classes for members, racket ball, etc. They give you guest passes when you sign up if you don't like to workout alone you can always bring someone with you. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone!

This is the worst place to be for physical fitness but surely the management will blew your mind but that will give you mental fitness.
Not joking ever since i have joined the club there is some construction work is going on in the building. Either lower level was fully closed or upper level or the bathrooms or main entrance. With all these inconvenience on daily basis there is hidden fee on every other thing you can think of. When they know you are comfortable in paying your regular membership and not check the credit card bill They randomly charge something on your card with no explanation. When this happened i tried to talk to their finance department but this lady has no brain on her shoulder. She talked about everything else but what I asked her. When i interrupted, she got mad saying oh you are not letting me finish. Next thing I know there is extra $15 charged on my card.

Club is bit expensive when compared with the community center right opposite, however, the facilities at this place makes us our favorite one. Gym is huge with wide range of equipment besides including other physical activities like Zumba and personal trainings. They’ve a decent sized swimming pool 🏊‍♂️ and offer trainings during summers. Best part is the badminton 🏸 court that’s not available in any other club. They also have indoor soccer 🥅 stadium and squash court. Overall good place for family to stretch their body.

Dont even know where to begin this gym is all around awful. AC has been broken all summer, been missing 45 lb dumbells since i signed up 6 months ago, they rush you out before they’re even closed, and since they’re not a big franchise they do as they please. Every holiday they close early for THREE days and do not tell you unless you check your email they take full advantage while charging you top dollar.

Very small track for walking. Gym is good. Very crowded in evening. They have a variety of other things to do like tennis, badminton, yoga, play area, hot tub, sauna, steam. But I didn't see any swimsuit dryer/spinner in the area, if you wet ur swimsuit you gotta take it home in a bag to dry it up. The whirlpool is very slow and not worth it.

Had an appointment at the Golf Den with a small group and could not be more impressed with both the cleanliness of the facility but also the knowledgeable staff. Robert took extra time to make sure our group not only got set up properly for a great time but also to make sure we were taken care of for the full length of our visit. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be returning

I sent an email and spoke to a nice lady on the phone; I tried to make an appointment to tour the facility as my kids wants to go there and we were thinking about family membership. First of all, she said “come at any time” on Saturday and one of 2 people (rob or Kelly) would be there to serve us. When we arrived with our baby stroller, there was no accessibility ramp (that was open for us to use); I called the front desk and her best option was for me to carry my 20 lb baby and 40 lb stroller up the steep steps. The Club sucks. After checking in, we had to wait 30 minutes in a hot lobby (no AC); my kids were sweating, my wife was sweating, and there was someone else waiting before us. When rob finally came out, he was pompous and rude; pretty much ignoring us and our wait and the conditions/uncomfortableness of his facility. After waiting an additional 10 minutes with cranky kids, we decided to leave…back down the steep steps with all our gear. There must be a better option, the Y, the Country Club…I’ll pay top dollar not to deal with jerks and be treated like a customer.

Nice redo, loved the club, but because of coVid they just don’t care about the basketball/Volleyball players anymore, guess they don't make up enough of the customer base. They took away 1 BASKETBALL court which is fine but took away all the times everyone plays BASKETBALL.. required mask while playing is only a rule they have for some reason which also basically saying no one can actually play...So paying full price for a gym we can’t use is beyond me if someone can make it make sense i’d like to know...most of us canceling until its fixed 😩

So glad to come back to The Club @ Woodbridge after the pandemic lockdown. The time the facility was closed to members was put to good use. So many updates! New carpeting, paint, furniture, locker rooms, sauna and pool updates. Everything neat and clean. Despite the reduced capacity, the staff made me feel welcome and very safe. Great place to exercise!

The Club is a great place to come to not just work out but to be part of something special. You get a real family feeling here. From walking in till you walk out the staff as well as other members make you feel like family. The new improvements have been amazing! I love the new ladies locker room. Also, My grandson also had his swim birthday party here this year, and the kids had a great time.

A extremely unpleasant and prejudice woman named Delores might greet you. Beware if you understand the way someone looks at you and speaks to you in a racist manner. The gym is fine, however every time I bring my children to class and she is the gate keeper on shift, she acts as if I am trying to sneak into the gym and she’s caught me. I make sure to watch as I leave how she acts towards people who are NOT of color just to make sure I am not overthinking. It’s 2020, I think this place could do much better than her.

Great place for my kids to go to camp. A little disorganized, but they get it together. My daughter didn't know or have a steady councilor for a month, but she still loved it. Went on trips, swam in pools, played non stop. Enjoyed the food provided. Both my kids had a great time and I'll send them back as long as they would want.

Have loved most parts of the club. With every family membership the child gets two free classes which our kid loves! There are lots of amenities at the same time they all need improvement too. The badminton area is not marked to size. A racket ball court is converted to a badminton court which is disappointing. There's no family shower areas. How do they expect parents with children to be able to shower their child after swim? The classes and gym are pretty good too.

It's been 2 months, I have requested to cancel the membership with valid reason along Doctor Prescription but no one is really taking my request seriously as my card is getting charged again and again -- Every time I'm being promised with new date of issue resolution but nothing is happening -- Really tried to followup on this issue -- Can someone will really resolve my issue and refund the money for which I'm entitled ?

Very nice place and staff. Good classes for the little one with very kid friendly staff. Lockers are very clean and comfortable parking. As you are finishing a class they recommend what the next step would be according to the advances of your child. Would definitely go back to take more classes.

I was taken back by how big this place is once I walked inside. I really only explored the swimming pool. We're taking advantage of the sweet deal they have for swimming lessons for toddlers. Definitely a life skill every child should have. 30 minutes a week could save your kids life, ya never know. I'll have to check out the rest of the place.
