ONE star and never even made it in. I came in today ready to join, but the experience was disappointing. The place wasn’t busy, yet several staff members were on their phones and ignored me at the counter.

Eventually, one staff member clearly doing all the work, did step up and try to help (credit to her for the effort), but overall the welcome was extremely lacking.

The person who should have been engaging new customers stood off to the side socializing instead, despite repeated eye contact.

As someone genuinely interested in joining, it felt dismissive and unprofessional. First impressions matter, and this one unfortunately missed the mark. Like by a lot!!!

Ps.. if you respond with something that even smells like "I should have contacted management" you're wrong. Doesn't work that way any more ya had 15 minutes 👎🏼

Good solid gym. Enough equipment for everyone, clean locker/bathroom, hot sauna. Don't join for the cardio theater. They're always movies most people have seen a million times, sound/picture quality could be better, but the theater is unnecessary anyway. They have yoga classes, and a women's only section for the women that aren't comfortable working out around guys.

Love this location. Since the moment I walked in I already knew I definitely wanted to keep coming back. For the most part everyone is super friendly. Had a few hiccups with the membership in the beginning but it all got sorted out and I couldn’t be happier. If you’ve never been to edge before, fyi, I hate cardio but the cinema cardio room is literally the best. Makes an hour go by like nothing. For a budget friendly gym this is by far the best gym especially in the Woodbury/deptford area.

I’ve been a loyal member of Edge Fitness for about eight years and have always spoken highly of the gym, even encouraging friends to join. Recently, I brought a friend with the 3-day free pass that’s advertised on the website. The site doesn’t state anywhere that the days must be consecutive, only that it’s a 3-day pass.

My friend used two of the days without issue, but when we went to a different location for the third, we were stopped by Crystal, the Assistant General Manager. Instead of being welcoming or even taking the opportunity to educate us on the policy, she was dismissive, unhelpful, and frankly rude. She insisted payment was required, even though the website wording is misleading.

As someone who has paid membership dues faithfully for years, I was shocked at how little flexibility or customer service was shown. A good manager could have easily allowed the complimentary visit, placed a note on file, and explained the rule moving forward. Instead, the interaction felt cold and unprofessional.

It’s frustrating when long-time members try to introduce new people to the Edge community and are met with this type of treatment. I hope corporate reconsiders how staff like Crystal handle these situations because right now, it does not reflect the “welcoming” culture Edge Fitness advertises.

UPDATE: I reached out to the member experience team 2 weeks and no one response. It shows how much they value their customers.

So far this gym has the equipment I need. My only concerns now are due to the local Crunch Gym closing earlier this summer. There has been an influx of new members including me that are now in the gym. Plus due to Edge and other gyms not going back to 24/7 after the covid pandemic it has been hard using edge gym. Most days I can't get certain machines due to the time I come after work. I also feel that they have too many rooms devoted to special activities that could be condensed into 2 rooms really. And I wish they would buy the building next door and expand to put in more equipment excluding cardio equipment. My only other issue has been the cinema room sometimes doesn't work when the projector is on or the staff can't get the movie to start over when it ends or put it on a loop. If another gym came back to the area, I would research and see if I would have to leave edge gym. But for right now I'm just making due with the lack of a full workout most days. I now condense most of the missed exercises on my early days for the weekend before the rush comes in. On the positive the staff has been helpful and professional. And the gym goers are decent and polite.

Easily the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. It took me four months to get my membership canceled due to moving, and I’ve been trying to get my refund for the four months since JANUARY. Multiple emails. Multiple phone calls. So busy socializing at the counter they can’t respond to an email and get a check mailed out.

I have been a satisfied member of EDGE, the Deptford’s Club, for several years.
Recently, I used the Cherry Hill club, which I’m sorry to say, I was surprised and disappointed by how different the staff was at that club. No body greeted me or smiled. Even when I ordered my shake the staff person never cracked a smile. Also, the staff all seem like they were new and in training.
I needed help because the kiosk wasn’t working for me to sign up for the Hydro massage bed. I asked two different staff members and neither one of them knew how to use the kiosk. Then one of the club members said to me, oh that kiosk hasn’t worked in over a week! At Deptford, if the kiosk goes down a sign goes up that says “out of order”, then you know to go to the front desk. When I explained to the staff how the kiosk works, they laughed and said you should work here you know more about the place than we do!
So 3 BIG CHEERS to ALL the staff at Deptford EDGE! Name tags would be great so I could give special shoutouts. Crystal is excellent at her job; maybe she can go to Cherry Hill and do some training for their team. Mark, the manager, has been very helpful as well.
Also, I want to say a very special thank you to the day time cleaning woman at Deptford! She keeps the women’s bathroom spotless! I never see her on her phone or slacking. She is so great at her job and her work ethic really shows!

Good Evening Google Family. I'm on the road again. After leaving work this morning, its Saturday, June 3rd, 2023, I had decided last week that I would be visiting the Edge in Deptford, New Jersey. After departing work, I had decided to get the newspapers, buy a water, since I had forgotten my water today at work. The store at work has an apparatus where you can draw your own water and ice, similar to an ice machine. That one cup held me all day for four (4) hours. I visited 7 Eleven to put money on my card for my EZ Pass. There is a minimum of $35.00 that you can replenish your card. Then I bought the newspapers, The Daily News and the Inquirer. Then I went to Sunoco, where I purchased gas for my trip to Woodbury, New Jersey, or Deptford, apparently, it is the same. I bought $20.00 worth and away I went!! It was an easy trip to New Jersey, where I took the Walt Whitman bridge. I was there, at the Edge, rather quickly. It is located in the Plaza of Deptford. It was similar to all of the other Edges that I have visited. A few things that stood out. The locker room, they had an extra set of lockers near the Changing Rooms. I have always seen two Changing Rooms at all of the Edge Fitness locations. Also the Women's Only Fitness area, was larger than a lot of the other locations that I have visited. One important difference is that I could not work out in the Cinema, which I always do, when I visit the Edge locations. It was too too Cold!!! They had the AC Cranking up to Maximum!! I love the cold, and I despise the summer, because of the heat! But when I complain that its too cold, then it is!!! It was a nice set up in the Cinema, though. Maybe the next time I visit, it will not be as cold!! I completed my workout in the Women's Only Area, lifting 20 lbs weights and using the STepper, doing step aerobics. I finished my workout on the treadmill, in the open, where everyone was. I have never done that, I always use the treadmill in the Cinema. I then took my shower and then I changed my clothes. My reward after an invigorating workout is a Shower and a Smoothie. I decided on Banana Bread today. AJ was the employee, who assisted me today. I told AJ how at the Edge in Wayne, they were no longer accepting cash. AJ told me that they were still accepting cash. I said, GREAT!! Away I went and I left, departing for HOME!!!! Misleading Information Regarding Spin Class Availability
I am writing to express my significant disappointment with the misleading information I received when attempting to book a spin class. I called ahead to reserve a spot in Monica's Tuesday spin class, only to be informed it was full. As this is not my home club, I was unable to verify this information via the app.
Despite being told the class was at capacity, I arrived early and observed multiple empty bikes in the studio. To confirm, I spoke directly with the instructor, Monica, who verified that the class was, in fact, not full. This is the first time I have encountered such an issue, and I found the experience incredibly frustrating. I expect accurate information regarding class availability, and this incident fell far short of that expectation.

I love this gym. It’s my home away from home. I’ve never been to a gym where it felt like family. I walk in and I’m greeted everyone who works there from front desk to sales to PT are all AMAZING. I will forever come to this gym as long as I can. The real star of the show is NAYANA. She’s my trainer and I’m so blessed to have her. The craziest part is she’s a new trainer. Disappointed and Misled

I feel completely deceived by Edge Fitness regarding their personal training contract. What was explained to me verbally was not what I ended up signing—and they showed no interest in making it right. There is absolutely no flexibility or concern for customer satisfaction.

Please, read the fine print carefully. Don’t rely on what the staff says—make sure you get everything in writing and take the time to review the contract fully. I regret signing up and would not recommend them to anyone looking for transparency or integrity

Don't go to this gym. They only care about the money and not the the members. Equipment is always breaking takes to long to get fixed. Gym members having bags on the floor everywhere so you can trip on them even tho they have signs saying to gym bags they don't tell them to put them away. Guys always taking pictures with the phone in the bathroom. Some guys with tripods in the bathroom. So unless you want to end up on someone instagram video in the gym bathroom i dont recommend it. Manager is a joke and always not available to speak to members about problems just walking around talking to girls. People never put there wieghts away and no one is on the floor putting it back or picking up the place.

The movie room is basically the whole reason why I joined this gym, and most days the movie is not playing due to technical issues, or it's a different movie than what the schedule says. In addition, the cleanliness of the facility has gone way down since I joined a few years ago. Most days they are out of wipes or the treadmills in the movie room have trash in the cupholders or on the ground. It's very disappointing.

I came into the gym at 5:10 pm on a Saturday. Looking forward to starting a second membership at a gym with more flexible hours and a place I can bring my kid if need be I was Eager to workout because my work shift starts at 8pm. I told the young lady at the desk I wanted to activate a free pass. With my brother and sister I was told to wait until the sales rep was finished enrolling someone in a new membership. I've been waiting over 30 min already. I don't understand why I wasn't able to Atleast start my workout until the sales rep was free to help me. She always greets me and everyone with a smile and makes me feel welcome. My son requested a cancellation, since he shipped out to boot camp. Customer Service denied his request, citing he needs to provide proof that he deployed. Since he doesn't receive the paperwork until he checks into MEPS, he did not have the "paperwork" orders they require. PCS is Permanent Change of Station. You don't get PCS orders unless you are already stationed somewhere. He went to boot camp, aka. his first duty station. The fact that this company would argue to continue billing someone who chose to serve is disgusting and criminal. Hope the $25 you squeezed out of my son is worth it. I will be leaving reviews to warn others of your ethics and greed.

The Edge Fitness clubs is a great gym for the price point. It offers so much variety. I’ve been a member for almost 2 years now. This is definitely a great gym for what you pay for. There’s lots of solid equipment, the facilities are very nice and innovative, and the staff and workers are all very friendly.

There is a friendly vibe here overall. So if you’re a fitness beginner or a seasoned fitness junkie, this place could be a good fit.

My only qualm at this specific locations is that it can be hard to find a time that the gym is not very busy or packed. Sometimes the wait for certain equipment can be very long.

Overall, this gym is worth the money and worth patronizing!

Started going to the gym in 2021 to get healthier, and because they had a membership with access to the women’s only room. Ending up not even using the women’s only room because Edge has SUCH a welcoming and awesome atmosphere, from the trainers to the front desk workers to the other gym goers. I ended up doing personal training with Aine for a few months, and it made a HUGE difference in my workouts and understanding of my body. Would seriously recommend this Edge location!

I love Edge Fitness center for the most part. When I started at Edge, I was asked if I wanted to have a personal trainer. I decided to get the personal trainer as I have never worked out before. They paired me with Lexi and she is awesome. She asked me my goals and designed workouts to assist me with reaching my goals. She pushes me during my workouts to get the most out of my workouts. What I'm not happy about is there was a spin class scheduled at 10:00 on Saturdays with Al and they have currently canceled that class. Al is an awesome spin trainer and the class wishes there was a way that we could keep him on Saturdays even if it meant going at an earlier time. Or if it's possible to alternate the 8:00 a.m. spin class and Al's 10 a.m. class.

They brought back most of the great Trainers.

The Biggest Bonus is CHARLES "Chuck" is Back. Thank GOD!!!

I was just about to cancel my membership when i found out that one of the best managers they have ever had is back!!!!

He's the guy who helped me beat Diabetes and High blood pressure. He's i think the Fitness Manager now. I hope they put him at the open GM position because he brings a sense of stability and the customers absolutely love him. He actually takes the time to see how your doing and how your progressing and makes sure issues with equipment etc get handled relatively quickly. Most importantly the other staff seemed genuinely excited to just have him back. Everyone and I mean nearly everyone, made a point to come let me know he was coming back. Which is better than listening to them complain about what isn't getting done or what support they weren't receiving. The mood has gone from Glib to Excitement again.

Thank you edge for fixing your Problems... I really didn't want to go to CRUNCH!!!!

Overall Edge is one of the best traditional Gyms around. I have been there for 2.5 yrs now and. I have to say they have taken a personal interest in my fitness goals and done their best to help me in my weight loss journey. I have lost over 96 lbs. I have worked with 4 trainers there over the 2 yrs.

Cool set up however all edge locations have a real problem with the phone use.
It has rules listed on the wall however no one follows them. Its very hard to get on a peice of equipment when there is someone getting lost scrolling on FB IG tik tok or just texting. Please enforce this rule so people who are serious about training can get a work out in. Its a shame because aside this problem these gyms have everything going for them. The place gets very crowded so between people talking or phone use becomes a real issue. This location is bad however not as bad as sewell and voohees for this.

Tonight my friend was yelled at for walking infront of someones tri pod.

Like really?? Some people are here to actually work out not text, scroll or set up a tri pod. Why even allow this??
Come on edge don't allow this or members to get yelled at for it. What's next? A drone flying around the gym?

Very excited to hear that you all brought Charles back! Not only is he excellent with customers, understands the science behind exercise, but he is also clearly driven to help and guide others. He is a perfect fit in the club management roll! (5 starts for Charles)

I chose 2 stars because the Group X schedule/manager is terrible. Whomever you have managing that has made a mess of it. Some of the instructors are great, but the management of the Group X schedule is disappointing.

Its obvious from the previous reviews that you are already aware of this - you just dont do anything about it.

I have been a member of Edge (Deptford) for 5 years. I have always paid for the highest membership since that was the only way to take a spin class. At one point they had spin almost every morning at 5:30 a.m. which was convenient for me since I go early morning. This past year they have cut 3 of the 4 classes I use to take. Needless to say that is ridiculous! I pay to take the class which at this point is not even offered in the morning during the week. So why am I paying for the class? Why even bother with the membership? I see people leaving the gym regularly and I see why now. I am beyond disappointed that they take it upon themselves just to cut classes as they wish. Not once has anyone given us a heads up that the class may be canceled. One day its here and the next it is not. Please do yourself a favor, if your contemplating signing up to Edge for their classes, DON'T DO IT! Not to mention they basically only have Les Mill classes, they are horrible classes and so robotic.

This gym has fallen off quickly. Ripped equipment, dirty bathrooms and sauna never working. It’s ashame because they have no problem calling 5x for sales but maintenance moves at a snails pace.

I recently switched to Edge after my gym shut down. It’s slightly further, but so far I am very happy.

Edge is busy, but I’ve not had much trouble accessing equipment I was looking to use. I’m also a huge fan of their cardio theatre.

Staff has been friendly and helpful. Haven’t done much with training yet, but my one short visit with Nick was positive.

I’m also seriously digging the shake bar. Great balance of calories and protein which is key for me since I’m 1 year post Bariatric surgery.

I am a body builder of 4-5 years, and have been to multiple gyms in the south jersey area, and even other locations of edge. I have never felt more comfortable than when I’m in the Woodbury location. From the cleanliness, to the respect and integrity of every employee here; and I mean from the gym all the way to the cleaning crew. As a fitness enthusiast, coach, trainer this is the only gym I would recommend to anyone I come across. Thank you doesn’t begin to express the gratitude I have for this establishment and more importantly the people who work here, I appreciate everything you guys have done and continue to do.

My Esporta is closing in Woodbury so I was driving around scouting out new gyms. I first checked out to Crunch which was super chill, clean, and the manager was relaxed but they didn't have a sauna, so decided to check out Edge. I had read some negative reviews about their aggressive sales team but I decided to give them a chance anyways. I would also like to say I've been in sales 15 years and take great pride in my service and integrity. A young sales rep approached me and didn't stop talking for one second as we toured the gym for 10-15 minutes. The gym was nice and had good equipment but that was it. It seemed like it would get a bit crowded and equipment was a bit cramped in certain spots. However, this salesperson was easily the most obnoxious salesperson I've dealt with in my entire life. Straight verbal diarrhea. I couldn't absorb or care to listen to anything he w.as saying cause he didn't even pause for a second. It seemed like an eternity and didn't care to ask him his name again because I was more than turned off, I was disgusted. He proceeded to try silly immature manipulation tactics on me and just kept droning on and on without even taking a breath. I will never give this gym a dollar of my money. It felt like an absolutely toxic environment. I suggest you don't waste your time and enter the building. I saw enough.

I usually have a great experience with this gym and everyone is always so helpful and kind. That’s why I was a little shocked when I was signing in my kids today and was met with a really rude person who seemed like I was wasting her time and wouldn’t help me. I really needed help and finally got frustrated enough and asked if someone could help me do it after she stood there watching me struggle with it. Then to my surprise said oh I can do it. She knew how to help the whole time and didn’t and let me fumble around to figure it out. I was just dumbfounded that she let me struggle when she could have helped. I get people have bad days but she was really rude and I didn’t appreciate it. Definitely not taking my kids back and will tell other parents the same

First off I’m from the deptford area, the management here is awful, everytime I went in they constantly tried to sell me something whether it be supplements or personal training even interrupting my workouts. From what Ive heard there have been weeks where management will be on hiatus or “sick” leaving the staff to run the gym on their own, finally I ordered a beverage from the shake bar and not only was I charged twice but I ended up getting very sick after consuming it, overall terrible experience the staff was nice but god the atmosphere is toxic.

Visited this gym for a trial, hoping for a positive experience, but the encounter with the manager, Ryan, left much to be desired. His obnoxious and loud questioning about my personal details at the front desk was embarrassing. He insisted on a 5-star review for a trial pass and even held my ID in a locker, which felt invasive. Attempting to work out was challenging due to the lingering frustration. When I confronted Ryan about his attitude, he apologized, but the first impression was already lost. The overall customer service and invasive procedures were a turn-off. It seems many others share similar sentiments about the staff's attitude. A gym should be about fun and relaxation, not unnecessary stress.

Bad staff and poor management, I heard trying to get out a contract here is bad so wish me luck I guess. Gym wise it’s just tacky, most other gyms in the area are way less cramp and offer the same if not more stuff, I.e the old la fitness’s gyms have better saunas and pools. I saw some other 1 stars here, they got it spot on. You can like it here don’t get me wrong, but you
could really do better elsewhere and get more ‘bang for you buck’ at any other gym, side a planet fitness, sorry 5 star ppl but that’s a hard pill you will have to swallow if your brave enough to.

Main factor, I asked the manager Ryan to pause my account at early December around the 5th. Yet I get a new bill at the start of the new month. Guys a lier and his staff are lazy probably because of him. Moving onto the Gym itself, it’s just flashy and cramp at best. every esporta has most of if not all of these machines and racks, and a sauna ( and a pool and hot tub ) four seasons in Glassboro has a better sports atmosphere and way more personalized equipment than this commercial gym mimics, and crunch is right down the road offering the same exact stuff ( with way more room to breath so to speak) and if you hated all those options, giant has more machines and racks than any other place and is 24/7. That on top of this place ripping me off due to Ryan, yeah 1 star.

The gym is clean and nice but very crowded often and honestly doesn’t have much that makes it stand out from other gyms aside from the $10 a month. I did though have an issue with another guest where I had to wait for a smith machine (only 2 here) to bench press due to a shoulder injury and even though I was fine waiting, he got in my face claiming his 15 years of lifting made him knowledgeable and that I was making him uncomfortable and I Shouldn’t “wait for machines” , while the lady next to him didn’t even notice me (thank you to her for defending me from a gym male Karen) but I tried telling the gym staff so he wouldn’t intimidate anyone else, much less someone with a handicap like me like that’s just low, but they didn’t do one thing. You don’t have to kick the guy out but I would atleast expect a talking to to a man child whining about a smith machine I’m patiently waiting for (it’s 11 am on a Wednesday like enjoy your day lol). But that’s why I leave my review, clean and nice gym but not really special, and gym staff that don’t really take the initiative to handle bad situations.
Edit - I’m lowering my review to 1 star, I spoke with the manager Ryan, and he stated he would freeze my account (this being around December 5th) yet I’m being billed and the freeze isn’t out into effect until January 31st, and the staff couldn’t even tel em that I had to call corporate. I hate this place and should never have signed up

Be careful of getting the protein shakes. The girl behind the counter charged my boyfriend twice for a shake, after 10 minutes of waiting refunded the one. Came back a few days later and apparently it’s our fault that she didn’t know how to work the cash register. She refunded both accidentally. Treated us like crooks for a workers mistake. Had no problem paying for the one from the week prior. But the worker said they’d “let it slide” .. just keep an eye out. Untrustworthy and will make it seem like you’re the one controlling the cash register.
